I scheduled a blow out which should have been $45. Website says this includes "custom brush work." However, I was charged an extra $21 for an add-on. I have no idea why, as my hair was styled straight...no curl or wave. I purchased other items on this visit, so I didn't notice the extra charge until I got home. But, $66 for a basic blowout is criminal. My whole service was about 30 minutes. Sent an email to Customer Service and was refunded for my service. read more

This Ulta is located in the outdoor shopping mall of The Form at Peachtree Corner. The store itself is laid out like most of the Ulta beauty stores in the area where you have your prestige cosmetic such as Clinique and Urban Decay on one side and your more budget friendly cosmetic such as Revlon and Covergirl on the other side. I'm a universal cosmetic user. I go with what works. If the lip gloss taste like morning breath after a bad date then I don't care if it's $28 a piece...its not worth buying. I came in with my friend who wanted to check out Kim Kardashian's make up line KKW and I was curious about Kylie Jenner's makeup line and what was so special about it that made her a billionaire at 18. My conclusion: I have no idea. Her stuff just liked like every other brand out there but hey what do I know... One nice thing about Ulta is that they let you try everything out first before you buy. Even stuff that are fully packaged. Just ask a sales associate to help you and they'll take care of it for you. We didn't need any help on this shopping trip but its good to know they're there if you need it. read more

This was my first time at the Peachtree Corners location. First and foremost The Forum is EVERYTHING!! I will definitely drive the extra miles to visit. Let me tell you why... Even though I have an Ulta down the street from me...they never have products stocked that I'm interested in. Peachtree Corners location, however, has EVERYTHING your little makeup heart could desire. I was in the market for Beauty Bakerie foundation and of course they had all items and some I was in the market for. Not only was I able to use the testers to find my match, the customer service was impeccable when trying to find my go-to favorites around the store like ALL NIGHTER SPRAY!! I needed a new setting powder since I was out. Ulta doesn't carry the high end brand I typically use from Sephora so one sales associate was able to direct me to a product she uses and loves. I definitely will be going back to this location for the newest products & amazing customer service! How was your experience? read more

Came in , circled around the cologne about 20x , smelled all of them. For about an hour . Not ONE person came to ask if I needed help, when I finally went to ask for help, the lady with the brown highlights and the bald blonde hair lady were both very dismissive. I left empty handed smh. Came to return one thing as soon as I got in I was told by a lady that they were "closing" but she just let 3 other customers in. Then proceed to say that yeah my boss just told me not to let anyone else in, I'm already in the store though but also tell me why'd you let the other 3 people in. This is not the first time I've had problems at this Ulta it's the third I'm disappointed that they have a double standard. Seriously am having to keep my cool while writing this after having "highlights" here. Deciding to have them done was able to be fit in on a rare Friday night off. An hour after walking in was able to get an appointment at 7 pm and should have thought twice. In the beginning we chatted and was getting along well then there was some miscommunication. I was there for a half head and stated such for some reason she thought it was for just a few foils around my face? Moving forward she made more of the what was needed and we continued. After the shampoo noticed that there was an area bigger than a quarter that had bleed through on several foils close to the scalp and VERY obvious. Long story short she and I spoke to the manager about the situation and I stayed to try to have it fixed (I say this loosely) while in tears twice. Being madder than sin sat quietly. This girl told me she had been "doing hair for thirteen years", bull !! The work was obviously bad some of the highlights being close to the scalp on one side and a quarter of an inch away on the other side of the head. WTF ? Then there is the area that needed to be fixed it wasn't. There is now an area that is a rust to orange color that Will need to be fixed elsewhere. I was given a receipt for $0.00 After speaking with management wanting this fixed and having no confidence in this person doing my hair was told by both "she could fix it" this night. An appointment with the salon manager couldn't be made with until Monday morning (she had the weekend off) and I couldn't be stuck with this until Monday working all weekend. The store manager upon leaving jus before 10pm informed me that "if I wanted it fixed (correctly) by the manager of the salon this visit would have to be paid for?" What happened to the receipt for $0.00 ? She was quietly and calmly told "that I would never step foot in this store again." The highlight's were fixed at another shop the stylist said my head was covered in "polka dots, was completely uneven and that the person who did your hair needs to go back to school". ** See photos. read more

Went in today to purchase gifts for my mothers birthday. I walked around for about 45 minutes and not once was I greeted, or even asked if I needed any help. ( you would think they could stop and ask you to see if they could help you) but anyways as I walked around I noticed that the employees were looking at me weirdly. LOL this location does have a lot of products in stock. From good brands to drug store brands. They have a benefit brow bar. And a tiny men's section where I also browsed for my bf. Next I stood in line at the register which was not a problem. But I think one of the worst part was the service I received from Erin my cashier. She didn't engage with me at all!!! She made me feel like I needed to hurry up & pay for my transaction so she could go on with the next. After the amount of money I spent. I doubt I will be going back to ulta. If I do it won't be this location. I can definitely see why people prefer sephora over ulta. At least there you will feel comfortable to shop && people actually talk to you, to earn your business. read more

First time ever in an Ulta. Yes first time ever In my life. I normally go to Sephora. But I needed to go to another store next to this Ulta and it just happened. There only seemed to be 2 girls working at the time I went. As I walked in nobody greeted me or asked if I needed any help. I did in fact need help when looking for a foundation match but the girl at the register was obviously busy with a line of customers checking out, and the other lady was running back and forth from the front to the back of the store and didn't stop once. I finally figured out everything I needed got to the register and this lady had no happiness in her face. I get maybe you have a hard day but smile really. Great place to stop to grab your cosmetics. They have nearly everything I need (if they carried MAC, my life would be complete). In fact, every time I go inside, I find more things I "need" - it's dangerous like that. Friendly and helpful service. I have also used their brow bar. I went to Ulta Nov. 2018 and bought $400+ of items and the person checking me out said if I sign up for their Visa card I would get 25% off so I did. The bill was due Dec. 1st and I paid it through my bank on Dec. 3rd. They sent me a late notice that I had to pay for $48.54 because the girl said that they didn't recieve it until Dec. 14th. I said I have proof that I did send it on Dec. 3rd and she said it matter that it was late and charged me $48.54 and would not back down. I highly suggest no one and I mean no get a charge card from ULTA. I use my American Express 99% of the time and never have a problem. The charge could have easily been waived, but she said it was Comenity Capital Bank/ULTA and they would not waive it. The service and staff at this Ulta continues to be horrible!! I shop at other Ulta's and have had a much better experience. I wanted guidance for a good moisturizing lotion among the many lotions (many are very expensive) I am tired of trial and error! G....Horrible.ot no guidance from the staff at all....was told some work for some...some work for others, but she didn't go back to the section to point out even the popular ones!...TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Then I tried to speak to the make up specialist about a lipstick that does not fade, but she was tied up for over 30 mins and there was no one else to help. THEN As I was walking out I heard the older woman on register SHOUT out a name so I turned around.... she was talking to two of her staff POINTING at me at the door. They just opened a few weeks ago and they're still working out some kinks. I went in last Sunday afternoon and wasn't greeted. I've worked retail for years and that's a cardinal sin. At least acknowledge that I walked in. They seemed to have average traffic for a Sunday, but it wasn't until I'd been in there and tried several products that an employee spoke to me. I didn't try any of their name brand products, but those are options as part of the rewards program. It was only after I left the store that several of the employees stopped me and offered their services. Apparently it's 20% off a salon service if you're a member of the rewards club. I'm covered when it comes to all that, but I would've appreciated the gesture while I was still in the store. I'm sure once they get used to the traffic and location things will smooth out. I visited Ulta Salon on Saturday, October 3, and had an appointment with Dee for a silk press that was scheduled for 4:15pm. I received a call asking me to come in at 5:00pm and I said that was fine. I got to the salon at ten til 5 and waited until almost 5:30pm for her to start. She washed my hair and then blew it out and it wasn't close to being straight. She then trimmed my ends (which she charged me $55) for and proceeded to "silk" press my hair. When I left my hair was fluffy, not remotely straight. It literally did not even look like I went to the salon especially considering the $68 for silk press and the $55 trim for a total of $123 and I walked out looking like I had not even gotten my hair done. Ever since Ulta closed down in Duluth, I haven't gone to one since then. I always thought it was just okay, nothing really stood out for me. I never cared to go to Ulta until my friend recommended me to go and get this particular curling iron that she has and used on my hair. I used to compare Ulta & Sephora in terms of makeup saying that Sephora has high end makeup and Ulta doesn't. But I was so wrong, Ulta is so much more than that. It has many salon shampoo and conditioners with salon products, like Sally's. Ulta is a year old at The Forum, across the street from Old Navy. When you walk in, it's modern and stylish, so much different from the former location in Duluth. Okay, I liked, I did visit the Vinings one last year but went in briefly with a friend and was not impressed either. Ulta at The Forum, I was impressed. I liked the curling irons and blow dryer section where you can test and see if you want to make a purchase. The salon is in the back. The restrooms are really clean and nice as well. While walking and checking out the store, I was surprised to find all Naked palettes there! Very impressive! At the register, I signed up for the rewards program. The cashier was very nice and knowledgeable. I had to return one item back a week later, I just wanted an exchange. I couldn't find my receipt anywhere! Since I used the rewards program, it was an easy process! I was impressed, got my exchange and am so much happier. Ulta at the Forum will be my to-go place for beauty necessities! read more

Let me preface this by saying that this WAS my go-to Ulta location, but not anymore. You have to know that customer service is JUST AS MUCH OF THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE as the quality and variety of products. I was wanting to try out the bareMinerals cleansing water (since they don't usually carry a lot of brand name cleansing/micellar waters in stores) but couldn't find the sample. I finally found it sitting on the counter next to a makeup representative who was putting foundation on a customer's face. I had apologized for interrupting them and asked if I could see the cleansing water for just a moment, but the representative had told me "No. I'm using it right now. There's other stuff like alcohol or whatever on multiple small stations that you can use to wipe off stuff." I was a bit shocked because it wasn't like I was taking it away from her. I told her that I was interested in the product and she had the only sample with her currently on the counter not being used. Then she said, "I said no", then mumbled quite loudly so I could hear, "the nerve of some people", then turned her back to me and cheerfully apologized to the customer she was working on. I wish I could remember her name! I was so shocked, a bit hurt and angry by her words and actions. I went to another representative and asked if there was another sample, as the other person had refused to let me see/smell it for literally 20 seconds. This person stopped for just a moment, apologized but said there were no other samples and walked away as I was about to ask her if they had any similar products I could test. I was still upset about the first employee but I brushed it off thinking the second employee was pretty busy as she was in a rush before I stopped her. I ended up walking around the store myself to see if there were other similar products. The third person I had stopped actually took the time to walk me back to the bareMinerals product and told me about it. We found the sample on the same counter (after I pointed it out) where the first very rude employee had left there. She was obviously done with it NOW, since she and the other customer was no where to be seen. I finally was able to test it and smell it. I HAVE to test these products as my skin is pretty sensitive. It's a decent product at an affordable price, but by then there was no joy, curiosity or anything positive in my experience that I didn't really want it anymore. It's true when people say that it only takes one bad experience to ruin everything. I love The Forum and will continue to go there, but I will probably not be stepping into that Ulta again. read more

This review is primarily for the Salon, however the reason why I'm not giving a one star is thanks to the kind cashier who handled my purchase. I was in town for a wedding and wanted to have my hair done for the ceremony. I decided on a trim and blowout to kill two birds with one stone and, considering the proximity to our hotel, booked an appointment with Ulta. I've had good experiences with the Ulta Salon back home, so I figured I'd give it a try. The day of the appointment, I realized I needed to reschedule for a later time and processed the cancellation/reschedule via their website. I received a confirmation email for the new time and incorrectly thought everything was going to go smoothly. Admittedly, I should have called to confirm, but when you have a confirmation email, one would think that wouldn't be necessary. I was clearly wrong. I arrived for my appointment and one of the stylists greeted me. She advised me that the individual who I was scheduled with went home because she wasn't feeling well and assumed that my rescheduled appointment was a mistake. Why she wouldn't call is beyond me - I understand that if you're not feeling well, it's usually best to go home, however it is insanely unprofessional to fail to notify any booked clients, regardless of whether or not you "think" they made a mistake with their appointment. Surprisingly (or not), I noticed another review where someone had a similar experience. In regards to the stylist who advised me of this, it was clearly not her fault and she even tried to give me a later option, but unfortunately it wasn't going to work out. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service of this establishment. I came in around 8 o'clock at night and I understand that on Fridays they close at 9 PM but they weren't as busy as I thought they would be. I went in to look at some DermaLogica skin care products and I wasn't greeted at all. I've been to many Ulta's in the past and the first thing that the reps are supposed to do are to ask you what is it that you're looking for and no one helped me at all. Normally when I go in to Ulta I dropped between $100-$150 each time but I'm assuming that my sweats or maybe my appearance just didn't scream I'm here to spend money. So I was completely ignored the entire time. Except for the side glances that I was receiving while I was in the skincare department by myself. I actually had a lot of questions to ask about a particular product that I was buying but I was too annoyed to even look the cashier in the face. I wish that Yelp had more stars for this one. In an effort to get out of the house I went to Ulta. The customer service was stellar. What made my experience a hit was meeting Dee the stylist in the Salon. I've never even give thought to having my hair done in a store. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter who has really tight curls. After seeing Dee's work I scheduled myself an appointment for later that day. My hair was full and felt healthy when I left. She recommended some great products and even the proper brush to use when my hair is wet. For years I have been pulling globs of my hair out in the shower. I thought that it was stress or hormones. I've washed my hair twice since meeting her and little to no hair came out. It was a combination of Dee's work, the recommended products and the brush. I've not been this pleased with my hair in years. She did a fabulous job on my hair and I will definitely be going back. The price was reasonable and the service was great. In the store, a rep (lady with red hair) that was not even working in the salon was extremely knowledgeable about the products even to the point of asking about curl pattern (which I had no clue about). There is also a lady (light strawberry brunette) that always has on a mask with powerful words on it. She helped me pick out the right eyeshadow palette that would show up on my skin. It means a lot to be able to walk in a store and be treated well. I spent around $400 on that one trip and I've already been back. I truly love this Ulta. I cheated on Sephora and I like it. This is definitely one of the best Ultas in the state of Georgia. read more

Due to public health concerns, I fully understand and support the Forum's Ulta's decision to close early and require that customers wear masks. However, I believe there is no excuse for employers to abruptly lock the door as 5 customers were standing right outside waiting to get in. No eye contact or expression of apology was made. This was especially concerning and rather shocking because there was no sign on the door indicating the time at which the store closes during the special, pandemic hours. I want to have surplus compassion for local businesses during this time; however, I believe human decency and avoidance of impertinent behavior could be expected from any basic customer service, regardless of circumstances. read more

This is specifically a review of the Salon. I had been there a few times and found it reasonable for a cut and style; granted, I never had the same stylist - they seem to turn-over like crazy. I made an appointment online for Ima. Her rate stated online was $37. Fine. I was the first appointment of the day (11:00 a.m. on a Sunday). When she walked-up, she didn't even greet me. She just gestured to the chair and told me to sit. (Hindsight: I should have turned around and walked out at that point.) She spent about 7 minutes fooling around with the supplies and crap while I sat in the chair waiting. She came over and spent 10 seconds listening to what I was looking for and then ushered me over to the hair washing station. While washing my hair, she indicated that my cut would cost $11 more because I had long hair. It was about 8 inches below my shoulders. I wanted 6 inches chopped. She said it was the salon's policy - not hers. I was committed at this point, so what could I do? She proceeded to cut my hair with no conversation - no smiles - nothing. When she was done, my bill included a charge for texturing - not "extra charge for long hair". I should have spoken to the manager at this point because something just didn't seem right. The more I thought about it that day, the more I realized that she just made that crap-up. She knew she had me and banked on the fact that I would believe her. There was no one else in the salon to see her overcharging customers. There was no one that would know what was actually done to my hair. Nothing. I have been totally taken advantage of by her and I am angry about it. I will not be going back to this salon and I will be making sure everyone knows that she's a fraud. read more
