So I normally never write Yelp reviews, but this is one for the books. DO NOT GO TO THIS ULTA. TAKE THE TIME AND DRIVE TO A DIFFERENT ONE. I've never met more incompetent managers in my life. I bought a $45 product from ULTA about 3 months ago-- it shattered but the entirety of the product was inside the console & in the midst of the fall, the lid latch broke. I took it to ULTA immediately and explained what had happened. At first, the manager refused to exchange it. In the process of dealing with the product and asking her even more incompetent peers, she dropped the product on the floor which led to the entire cracked portion of the highlighter to be on ULTA's floor. The place is fine. Is like any other Ulta store. My only gripe is that I was approached by a salesperson as I was looking at some products in one of the isles who proceeded to ask me if I needed any help, if they could help me find anything. I said no thank you I'm good because I was standing in the isle of the product that I came to purchase. She proceeded to stand next to me and continue to ask me questions about what I was looking for. Which bothered me because I had just said I did not need any help and then I didn't wanna be rude, so I felt obligated and would answer her questions. And the she said for me to follow her and directed me to an aisle with another product that was similar to what I wanted but it wasn't what I wanted because I knew exactly what I wanted because I purchased one of the products in the aisle prior, but I was looking at other products in that isle that I had not used before that was similar to the product I used to see if those other products might be better. Anyway, I stood there and let her continue to pitch me this product that she was very adamant about me purchasing. And yes, it did have good qualities and yes her pitching skills were great, (I eventually bought the product I came there for as well as the product that she sold me. I don't know if I bought it because I felt bad or if I really believe it's going to help me with what I need it for, but I bought it) but I was still very annoyed because i had told her I didn't need help. So Ulta just needs to train their customer service staff to let the customer be if a customer says that they are good and they do not need any assistance. Trust me if I needed help I would seek out a customer service rep to answer my questions or help me find something. read more

No one needs to be here on a weekly basis, but I find myself here buying crap I dont need exactly that often. They dont carry lipstick queen, some of the girls here are mega rude, and this shopping center sucks balls so time your trip here accordingingly to avoid traffic, dont navigate through the plaza (or it WILL take you 30 mins to get from one end to the other), just take victory instead. Booked an appointment for a haircut & style today with Vernon, and from the moment I walked in to the Salon area (its at the back of the store) I felt a very warm welcome from Vernon and other stylists! They're all super friendly and fun to talk to!! We spoke for a bit about what cut and look I was particularly looking for. (I wanted a choppy A-line bob with lots of texture) I showed him a couple pictures and he got to work. I have to say, the entire experience was BEYOND my expectations. I had never been to Ulta Beauty at all before this hair appointment, and I can definitely say I'll be going back there in the near future for my haircuts and styling. Bad experience with the hair salon. I was very clear about what I wanted and got something completely different. I asked for permanent color and they did a semi permanent gloss. They denied it and refused to redo it with permanent color, free of charge. I was a returning customer. The first time I did ask for semi permanent gloss and this time I asked for PERMANENT. I even asked the girl again before we started. She was pushy with the semi permanent and I know why. But I didn't think she'd take a chance and do it anyway. They offered I think 20% off but why if the mistake was completely theirs. My time and money was wasted. They shouldn't think it's okay to make a profit off their mistake. I wouldn't even trust them with my hair again and of course I didn't take their discount, it's bs. Never coming back here at all for anything. read more

Ulta is fine. Just fine. It is nice to have the drug store brands and the "prestige" brands under one roof. They've just started carrying Benefit cosmetics (with brow arch services) which makes me more willing to shop there. But my big beef about this place is the employee. They're never happy to help. Not even fake I'm-getting-paid-to-smile-and-be-congenial happy. So if you're running low on your Bare Minerals foundation, or really don't want to spend too much and just need to grab a Cover Girl lip stain, or if you even need a hair dryer, candle, perfume, or face wash, you can go to Ulta. One thing, though, is I'm noticing that they are having more sales. Granted they're directed more to the drug store brands (currently buy one get one free for Cover Girl eye makeup and all Revlon makeup), but it is definitely nice to see price breaks. Sephora hardly ever does that. OH, and I've been a member of the Ulta frequent buyer's club thinger for two years now. I'm wondering what my perks are? I don't get coupons or discounts or freebies. I'd say that it's a bigger version of Sephora, with tons of products in all kinds of varieties. They've got some expensive makeup as well, similar to what Sephora would have, but of course not as much as what's available at Sephora. To name a few brands: Smashbox, Too Faced, bareMinerals, Urban Decay. They have their own salon and makeup stations though! And the best part is, it's right next to my house! I've never been to the salon or anything, but I like the rest of ULTA a lot. I just wish I had more money to buy all the makeup-y hair-y crap I want! Too bad I have to instead go in there with one of those $3.50 off $10 coupons in hand and buy $10 worth of stuff only. Boo. I want to be a millionaire who doesn't care. But I digress. The shop is always clean and smells salon-y (which I like). They tend to have promotions, sometimes sales, there's a clearance section, etc. In general, ULTA tends to be more expensive than other places, perhaps.. I mean, buying a shampoo at ULTA that you can buy at Walmart probably isn't the best choice for your wallet. BUT with the aforementioned coupon, things become way more reasonably priced. :) Yay. Parking is sooo easy because it's wayy in the corner of Empire Center where no one really goes. The staff is always friendly, in my opinion. I've never had a bad experience. The one thing I find here that I haven't found elsewhere (except eBay, where it's super expensive) is something called Terminator 10, for breakouts and such. It's awesome, and super cheap at like $6. I've seen it $10+ elsewhere. I find ULTA a fun place to kill some time and snag a few goodies. Again, wish it were cheaper, but some wishes don't come true (unfortunately). Oh whale. :P read more

Variety 5 stars. All products are available. At least those that I was looking for. I took one star cause I had to wait almost 10 minutes to check out and only with 2 customers ahead of me in a line. Haven't had my hair cut in over a year due to Covid, I went in very nervous (as I always am with a new cut/stylist) and let my stylist (Alicia) know that, she made me feel so at ease, I felt like we had been friends before and we were just catching up. I never felt rushed like I have in other salons, we talked about different options for my hair, what works for my face, what would look better with my glasses (something I didn't even think of!) she even cut and styled my hair so you can't see the re-growth I have from some bad hair-loss I had a year ago that I was very self conscious about. This location really needs to tighten up on their organization and service skills. I was looking for a product and the site claimed they were out of stock. Decided to call to verify and no answer for the 3 times I called. Decided to swing by and the store was fairly empty. Two workers were at the front register talking and when I asked about the product. Without looking it up in the computer one said they're out. The other claimed to checked the back only to say they were out. However, when I went to grab a different product as to not waste a trip, I see a full shelf of the exact thing they claimed to be out of! During checkout, it took 3 workers to deal with an error created on their part with another customer while the line started to grow. Maybe it's time to add some self checkouts. read more

Love this store, but most of the time the checkout lines are way too long. Mostly short on staff, you have to hunt around the entire store to see an employee for questions or concerns. I don't like the fact that they have some sales people from some company lines pushing you to buy or switch to their brands. Okay, the last time I was in an Ulta was in Atlanta, about 2 years ago. I thought it might be a sister store to Sephora or trying REAL hard to be like it. Either way, I thought it was an okay copy but lacked in product quality and service quality. I went to this Ulta with my 21 yr old niece yesterday right after a trip to Sephora to see if they carried something Sephora was out of. I assumed all of the stores in this chain carry the same items and have the same setup but this was really different from the last Ulta I went to 2 yrs ago. They had high end merchandise but only had reps available for each individual brand. I guess they thought it is too much trouble to train their employees to learn about all the products instead of just one. (?) They also had something that was new to me...a lower end section and an even lower end bargain section. Neither of these sections had employees available to provide help. Don't try asking one of the high end salespeople for help with a lower end product either, (we were looking for a temporary fairy hair dye for my niece) they will look down their noses at you! The overall vibe I walked away from Ulta was, it is trying to compete with Sephora but also trying to attract people who might not be able to afford all that Sephora offers. That is fine, but all it ends up achieving is sloppy unsupervised displays, lonnnnng lines and utter confusion, with no available salespeople to help. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the Urban Decay rep was really the only rep who was super friendly, helpful and very eager to assist me, but only with the product she was repping. Went here twice and I was dissatisfied both times unfortunately. Horrible customer service. Sales Associates are just rude not doing their job the way they should be doing it. They have the worst attitudes & The cleaning section by the cosmetics are always filled with dirty used tissues. The Tissue boxes were both empty the both times I've gone. Dirty Tissues on the floor as well. No one cleans or organizes the shelf's. Everything is just a huge mess at this location and it's seriously embarrassing. They definitely need to clean the entire store up it looks terrible. Shopping Baskets are also disgusting. Hopefully they have this location on a lookout because no one is taking care of this. I am very disappointed in their even exchange policy! I had only a $9.00 skin detoxing mask which I had purchased only a week prior. Unfortunately I did not have a receipt because who would think I'd have to return/exchange such an item. However the product inside the tube was completely dried out and unusable. I brought back the COMPLETELY FULL tube and showed that it would not squeeze out and asked to exchange and I was very rudely denied an exchange! My friend even had a receipt for her $150 plus dollars she spent that same day. (She wasn't returning anything) I could have made a purchase at CVS and had a better experience. This one time I went in; I noticed that they carry most items which you cant find at other Sephora, Target, or any other cosmetic store, yet can cost you a lot if you don't shop around often. Very pricey verity with an okay return policy. Do know that the perfumes that they sell there tend to be higher than other stores, but are the same brands else were. I recommend buying your perfumes or colons from Marshalls.... which is in the same locations, just around the other side of the Empire Center.
