Desperately needed a cut so I decided to try the Beaty salon and honestly I'm glad I did! My stylist Yngrid who was very nice and helpful gave my hair life again. Not only did she fix my bangs that I PERSONALLY MESSED UP BY CUTTING THEM MYSELF, but she also gave my hair so much volume. My cut was $45 and honestly so worth it. Ulta, as a concept is good. They sell everything for skin, fragrance, hair, and nails and have medium-high end brands (Stila, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay) and drugstore brands (Revlon, Cover Girl, Almay). Unlike Sephora, you don't have salespeople harassing you, and its not as loud and hot in the store. They have a rewards club and send coupons often. However, this location wasn't that great when I went- many items were out of stock or in the wrong place, and I couldn't find anyone to help me track things down. I ended up finding things on my own but will probably schlep to Sephora next time I need something. read more

This was my first and last visit to Ulta. I walked in and was not greeted by a single employee, of which there was about half a dozen in the area RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE entrance. I was not able to find what I was looking for... along the way I was unable to get anyone to help me. There were some employees talking to EACH OTHER and ignoring all the customer there. After 15 minutes of not being able to find on my own what I needed I left, never to return. Dont go unless you know what you want and where it is because employees will not help you. Big store conveniently off of RT 46 with plenty of products in stock. This was my first time at this location. From my favorite Benefit bronzer to Living proof hairspray, I was able to find all my usuals with no problem- They even carry my perfume here! I was so excited when I was driving down Route 3 and saw the signs that Ulta was opening near me. This location is beyond convenient, but it does have it's flaws too. We'll start with the pros. They have a rewards program called ULTAmate Rewards. Members receive a coupon for your birthday for a free CK One Mascara. Not a bad deal. They also keep a running tab of your purchases and you earn things based on how much you spend. They e-mail out coupons almost weekly and most of them can be combined with other offers. And they carry the salon brand hair gel that I use, which is why I shop here. It's not available in many stores, and most of the ones that carry it are way overpriced. Their prices are reasonable, and pretty darn good when you combine them, a sale, and a coupon together. Now, a big complaint that I have is that the shelves are not stocked well. The hair gel I use comes in multiple sizes and I've only seen the middle size in stock once. And I've been shopping here since they opened this location. Many other items are out of stock as well. Around certain holidays, they offer a 5 for $10 promotion. There is one currently, and about the only item they had left were mirrors. I asked the sales associate, and they were like we barely received anything for this promotion and don't know if we'll get more stock. Kind of majorly disappointing! I really wanted to buy stuff with this promo, and the other locations just aren't convenient for me. Bummer! I was looking for a particular palette and this was the only location that had it in stock. I wouldn't return again. I wasn't greeted, I wasn't helped at all. I was in the makeup aisle for a while and one of the reps was helping someone but as she soon as she finished with her she walked away without acknowledging me. Another rep walked away before I even had a chance to ask for something. It's a good thing that I am familiar with products and my eyes work. I found the products I was looking for and made my way out the door. I look forward to going to stores not only to purchase but also for the full experience and customer service is so lacking nowadays. read more

I was just at the Clifton Ulta this afternoon with a bag full of merchandise. There was a terrible storm and boom the lights went out! The generator quickly backed it up but the registers were out! The staff waited to see if it would turn back on but 15 minutes later nothing. The staff was very nice and put names on our bags to be picked up later or tomorrow. They handled the situation very calmly and were very apologetic. read more

This review is for Yajaira at the Benefit Brow Bar. Now, I have unruly eyebrows to say the least. In Yajaira's kind words, they are very full and dark. Yajaira went straight to work mapping them with a ruler to find my perfect shape, a nice change from the nail salon where they just slap wax on the stragglers. After mapping out my brows and marking them with brow powder, she explained that anything outside the line was gonna go. She went ahead and began waxing. She used disposable sticks every time, which is very good to see, and the waxing itself was painless and quick. The tweezing she did was delicate and I barely felt a thing. After it was done she explained to me that I had a nice eyebrow shape and that I shouldn't have them waxed any thinner or else it would ruin them. I felt much better about my unruly brows! She also filled them in for me and picked out and taught me how to use a row pencil. Overall it was a great experience and I am very happy with the wax! Thanks Yajaira! read more

If I could give this location 0 stars I would ! And now looking at all the other reviews I realize I am not alone in saying this is a terrible Ulta location. The employees were very rude and not friendly at all I needed to make a return for a gift I received the huge white woman manger said I would get back 70cents for a $80 product that she told me I would be able to exchange when I first got in the store but when it came time to check out she decided to change her mind and tell me I could for get 70cents for it later on my sister who purchased the product returned it for the cash she paid for it for and now they lost me and all my female relatives who shop in this store and a lot of complaints to corporate about the managers poor decision and nasty attitude. I also noticed a lot of racial profiling in this store and that a couple employees followed two brown females around the store and it was obviously being done also a young man who had a hoodie on came in the store and a Middle Ages large white woman who works here were harassing the young man while he was trying to purchase cologne a very uncomfortable store to be in. My sister was able to get the employees names and we reported all of these situations hopefully they are able to turn this store around in the near future this is 2022 !! I recommend going to Sephora if you want a better experience with a cleaner store more friendly knowledgeable employees. read more

I went with a girlfriend who bought the place out of all their lip glosses. She even gave me one. Very pleased. Not crazy about the parking situation. My experience has been great at this Ulta. I had never been to an Ulta before and was so excited when I walked in. I didn't even know that they had a beauty Service! I made my first appt just to try it out and was impressed on how it turn. Moving from NY and not knowing where to go. The experience was more then what I expected. Then I tried really hard to get a second appt but they were all booked. I said let me try in person because I had to go in there for a complimentary facial that philosophy was having that day! After I had the mini facial I walk to the back and asked just to run my luck. Niurrly greeted me and assessed my hair and said if I waited she would take me... I was blessed!!! Niurrly did an amazing job she is a master stylist and knows exactly what to do and how long everything will take. She styled my hair and I loved it and even suggested how to maintain my style. Some of the reviews on here in regards to how bad parking is here, is accurate. But don't let that hinder you from coming to this Ulta location. The staff are all super nice and helpful! Some of the NYX products take a while to restock, but other than that everything is usually here. The salon is always booked, so be sure to schedule an appointment before getting anything done. Niurlly is amazing with hair! She truly is a great hair dresser especially if you have curly hair. She is gentle and doesn't pull like most salons I've gone to. Naz is also amazing for facials. She is kind and very informed about skincare. She helped me when I was having terrible breakouts and I go to her once a month for a facial to maintain. I give them both 5 stars. However, I do feel that the salon services are a bit pricey when it comes to color compared to most salons. That's nothing against the stylist just the store itself. read more

The store side is great but DO NOT GET your hair done in their salon. I had long beautiful hair down to my waist for years and they ruined it. They botched up my layers and fried my hair with highlights. The only reason I even went there was because I received a gift certificate. It has been over a year now and my hair is still in terrible condition and I had to have it chopped off to my shoulders because of how much damage was done. Sad to have to change my rating, but I just had a bad experience and am extreme disappointed. I required some assistance finding a shade of foundation to match my skin tone and when I asked one of the makeup staff to help me, she rolled her eyes and reluctantly walked over, asking: "what do you want?" It threw me for a loop and when I told her never mind, she turned around and walked away. No apology, no "I'm sorry, I will be with you in a second." Nada. I've been meaning to write this for awhile, but I kept putting it off. I absolutely love the selection that Ulta has, however, this particular location is extremely disappointing. I am a platinum member, so I spend plenty of money there, but going forward I will be giving my business to another location. Too many times I am shopping while employees are standing around talking to each other, testing makeup on themselves, or messing around on their cell phones. Asking for help seems like far too much of an inconvenience for them. The testers are a disaster half the time, and I don't understand why shelves aren't stocked. The other day I had to hunt someone down to get a product for me, and sure enough they did have one in the back. Coming from a retail background, I can't understand why you would have merchandise in the back instead of on the floor, especially at Christmas time. There are many people who wouldn't ask for help, leading to sales lost. I generally don't care about an over the top employee/customer experience, but this particular store is so far below even the most mediocre of standards. Not good. Used to be when Amanda was there. had my hair done; I get it I should have said I had henna done three weeks ago. but not my ends, those were still my highlights. The stylist blames me, first of all I have black hair, obviously need a higher peroxide level, everyone knows that, and see saw how my highlights were at my ends. Not only did I not get what I asked for the stylist was a bit condescending and rude talking about me and how my hair was "so badly damaged" then why color it? I will be very honest. I have been shopping at this store since it opened. At first, I was ecstatic that it was in the area and I could get all my make up items in one location. However, this particular location is horrible. Either they do not have your items in stock, when you ask for help no one is available to help you in that area, or the management is terrible. Most times, when I go there for a specific item, I leave disappointed. Because they NEVER have it. That's why I have stopped shopping there and instead take the 15 minute drive down to Sephora at the mall. This place is often a mess. It seems like this Ulta doesnt honor their return policy. Managers are all disgustingly rude. I had to exchange a birthday gift because it wasnt my shade and they refused me since i didnt have a receipt. Ummm obviously! It was my bday! I had to go to another Ulta (in Edgewater) just to exchange it. They were kind and helpful about it. They even shade matched me and convinced me to buy the matching concealer and a nice blush to go with.
