I've been hearing a lot about this new hair stylist from Texas. I was having trouble with the stylist I had been going to for years, my color and cut was not consistant and I was not happy, I needed something different. So I called and made an appointment. His name is Thomas and he is the best stylist I have ever had, he made me understant when I should cut and color to have my look consistant. I got a hair cut by Danielle. My bangs are so short and she just cut it Straight and boxy instead of giving me the long messy look I explained. She told me my layers were messed up. Danielle grabbed a chunk of my hair and showed me how they were messed up. After the hair cut, I grabbed the same chunk and saw the same "messed up layers" she explained to me. So they weren't messed up in the first place, that just meant my hair looked messed up when you grab it and pull it up :) so now my hair is very short overall , all I requested was a bang fix and I got tricked into a hair cut! I was there a few days ago and there was not enough help offered on the floor. I have very sensitive skin and would've appreciated some help from the experts about what to use and what my face will probably not have a reaction to. When I finally found someone, he suggested the first thing in front of him and tried to get me to buy make up products. I did not appreciate the thirst for the sale, instead of actually caring for the customers needs. I also bought a blow drier that was in a broken and tore up box.. horrible presentation. It was a gift for someone else so when brought to their attention, at check out, They did not offer any type of condolences or discount for it being so destroyed. Dear Ulta, I very rarely give out one star reviews. I am a glass half full kind of gal and try my hardest to look on the bright side, but your stores have consistently disappointed me time and time again, and today, when visiting this brand spankin' new location, I was unfortunately let down once more. Honestly, today's visit just might be the last and final time I let you get me down; for I am sorry to say, but I don't think I am going to be calling myself an Ulta customer any longer. I don't think we can even be friends, and it's not me, it's you. Let me explain: I have been a long time customer and open supporter of your store and product, but recently it seems as though every time I visit an Ulta store, the shelves are a disaster area, products are thrown carelessly around, testers are never with their rightful match and more than half the products have no price stickers. Because of the decline in the organization of the Ulta stores in my area, I have admittedly turned to Sephora or even CVS to get my makeup fix; but would continue to return to Ulta every now and again to take advantage of your awesome coupons and great deals. However, I would walk out empty handed and jaded majority of the time, for Ulta is just not like it used to be. So when found out about this new location in the Davie Tower Shops, I was thrilled. For sure a new location would be organized and have their shit together! Or so I thought, but wrong was I. Making my first visit to this new location, I arrived pumped with mascara wishes and nail polish dreams. All started off a-ok; I was greeted pleasantly and since this is a new store, there wasn't quite as much disarray as can be found in other locations in the surrounding area. So where did things go so terribly wrong that I immediately took to yelp to award a one star review and write such a strongly worded letter? Well, my makeup bag is pretty well stocked (stuffed) and all I really needed was some mascara, so I picked up my favorite, Maybeline's "Falsies" which was marked for 7$. I had in my hand your infamous $3.50 off a 10$ purchase coupon and thought that I no doubt could find something for 3 bucks that would essentially come out to be free. I perused the shelves and settled on an eye-liner that was priced at $4 bucks. Good enough. When I went to pay however, said eyeliner rings up at 8 dollars. It was a regular pencil eye-liner from a generic brand and I would have had to be short a few chromosomes or a child of incest to think it's okay to pay that for a pencil. I told the cashier the discrepancy and her reaction was "Oh it's a mess back there." HUH? You guys just opened like 2 days ago, if things are already a mess then you are shortly going to be in deep doo-doo. And also, if you, an employee, recognize that things are a mess, then why don't you, hmmm I don't know, clean that shit up?! So anyway, the girl and I walk back to the display together to see what the story was. Turns out that the 4$ price tag which was right next to the pencils, was actually not for the pencils at all, but instead for the sharpener below. Where was the price tag for the pencils? Nonexistent. I asked why there was no price tag for them and was answered with a shrug. Do you know how this story ends Ulta? With me saying screw it, voiding my purchase, and going to Walmart where the same mascara is $5.89. I know it seems that I am being petty over a few freaking dollars, but it is not about the money, it is about the lack of care. I used to work at Ulta back in my college days and I got such pleasure from delivering all the goodness makeup has to offer and took pride in the store I worked at. Today, Utla is second rate at best and what was once a glorious shopping experience is now nightmare inducing and leaves a severe taste of bitterness in my mouth. This Ulta location doesn't even deserve one star! The majority of the store's staff isn't helpful or nice especially the store's male manager. I LOVE Ulta and have been shopping in their stores for years. I was excited when I saw that they were opening up a location right by my house but have been disappointed repeatedly. This store should be a fun visit for a girl but it's impossible to find someone to help you here. If you're lucky and you do find someone who can help you, they usually don't even know about the products they sell. Not a bad store, and always seems to have what I need, however, they just don't compare at all to Sephora. The customer service is not very good and returns are ridiculously difficult. This Ulta used to be my go-to location. After tonight's visit I doubt I will return unless it's a last resort. The shelves were a mess & unorganized. The best word to describe the nail polish selection would be 'sorry'. When I commented that their nail polish section & selection was sorry, a clerk, whom as I approached the registers was behind the counter doing vogue gestures to the gentleman who cashed me out, advised me they had several boxes of polish that has not been put out on the shelves because they are lacking the time & manpower. Maybe more time should be spent stocking products on the shelves by one of the 3 people doing nothing behind the counter. There were also several baskets of products behind the counter to be re-stocked. To top it off, the gentleman who cashed me out was completely inattentive. That should do it. I had a facial with Emily and it was amazing ! She is so knowledgeable and helpful. She gives an amazing facial, so relaxing and my skin was GLOWING! We had a very thorough consultation and she chose all the appropriate products to use in my facial. After the service she explained which products she recommends for my skin and how they would benefit my skin. I decided to purchase the products and have been using them for about 2 weeks and I have seen a drastic change in my skin, turns out I wasn't exfoliating enough and was using a moisturizer for oily skin and I have dry skin ! I am so very happy that an Ulta location opened up in this area. At first this location had some serious issues but I think they are trying to work through them. The first few times I visited this store the employees didnt know what they were doing. I brought my friend who has never worn makeup to get her set up with a nice starter kit for bare essentials. Being a makeup addict I was very happy to take her in and show her around. We asked a sales associate to help her get the right color and after several people walked around "looking for someone to do it" they told us they had no one that could match a foundation to her skin. Out of frustration I literally told them to just clean a damn brush and I would do it myself (doesnt take a genius to match the skin tone). So that experience was not the best. I have been a few times since and have been more satisfied with my encounters but that may just be due to the fact that I am not needing any form of assistance. read more

Made a last minute appointment today for a cut and color with Connie who did a phenomenal job. I asked for a root touch up as I've begun to gray, caramel highlights to liven up my ombre, and a good trim. Connie listened to what I was asking for and asked clarifying questions to ensure we were on the same page. She took her time to find a color that matched my roots and to cover the gray and she feathered in highlights so it looked subtle but beautiful. She cut just enough off so it would be healthy but didn't go overboard so I didn't lose my length. Lovely woman and a very talented stylist! read more

About a year ago I used to love this location. It was clean, fully stocked on both the drugstore and higher end products, and organized. I go to Ulta every couple of months as they are the only retailer that carry my particular curl cream. I was just there this week & the store was FILTHY, DIRTY & DISGUSTING. I went this Tuesday, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by staff. I made my way around the store, several staff asked if I needed help which is greatly appreciated. The store is self was a horrible mess. The floors were full of dustballs and hair balls. Product boxes were dusty or opened. The stations which they normally have a mirror, makeup remover, tissues/cotton swabs etc, were gross. The mirrors were dusty and the stations were completely empty and again, full of dust as if they had not seen a wipe in months. With the amount of staff I saw strolling around, taking selfies (yes, selfies on their phone) and chatting, why wasn't anyone maintaining the store? Why wasn't anyone cleaning the floor? Why wasn't anyone wiping down stations and restocking them? At least wipe down the mirrors. Why wasn't anyone "working"? The store was not busy, it was a Tuesday at 2pm. No one was there! One more thing... Why doesn't staff tell you your point balance or ask if you want to redeem your points when they ring you up? Another popular retailer does this every single time. Oh an another thing... Why does staff look at you like you are crazy when you ask them about a gift with purchase that is advertised. Why do they not just offer the gift up front? Step it up Ulta. It's unfortunate that a store with so much potential could be such a turn off! Need help? Don't bother looking or asking because there isn't anyone around! The store is so under staffed, there are no associates on the floor for assistance and usually 1 if maybe 2 at the register with a line extending through the store. I was a little nervous about getting my brows done here because of all the mixed reviews. I usually go to the Aventura location but I'm glad I did because I was pleasantly surprised. Benefit was having a free wax with purchase but I chose to tweeze to prevent waxing breakouts and I have to say the girl who did my lashes was vey thorough. I came to this store location a week before my birthday Tuesday January 22nd & was told that I can not receive my free birthday gift & $10 off coupon until the day of my birthday. I came back a few weeks later & had received no email. I was told in stores that's it had to do with not repossessed my to an previous email which would allow to me to continue to receive emails. The cashiers could do nothing about it in stores so she had me call customer service while still in the store. What's customer service was saying to me mad absolutely no since so I had the cashiers speak to them. He informed her that I need to have a shopping history from ether the previous year & or this current year in order to be elnlegable for the free birthday gift. I was not informed of this when I last came into the store & the cashiers I spoke with had me under a totally different assumption. Don't think I will be shopping here any more. Catherine (Cat) was my brow specialist and did an absolute HORRIBLE job!!! She did my eye brow tinting and it so uneven. Also the tinting was not dark enough and so it didn't last long. I can only really speak for the salon, as I'm not too involved with the actual store. I've gotten my hair done 3 times here and have gotten happier and happier with the results! I went to the Ulta in Ft. Lauderdale a while back and got AWFUL, and I mean AWFUL TERRIBLE AWFUL highlights. The first time I went in, a lovely stylist who no longer works there helped me out and made them work. The second time I went there, Mimi helped me begin the process of finding the color I was looking for. Because I'm going dark to lighter, it takes some time, so step one was great! The most recent time I was there, I met Jennie (a new stylist at the salon) and she was THE BEST. So friendly and helpful, she explained every step to me before we started and made me feel totally comfortable with what we were doing. I'm going back to her on Wednesday and can't wait! This salon isn't for the stuffy, so if you're looking for high end luxury with staff who will kiss your feet, search elsewhere. If you're looking for staff who will be open and honest with you while talking to you like a real human, Ulta Davie is the place to visit. read more

All the managers and employees are so great. They all remember me and are always willing to help unlike the Coral Springs location. Do not have your hair colored at Ulta Salon in Davie. I have (had) beautiful dark brown hair and I wanted to go one shade lighter. She took it 4 or 5 shades lighter and my scalp is on fire! I don't normally take the time to write a review but in this case it was worth taking the time to give props to the wonderful staff at Ulta in Davie. Last week I had a very important event I was hosting and at the last minute decided to go to Ulta and have my makeup professionally done by one of their makeup artist. Thankfully I was introduced to Samantha who I could tell right away has some skills just looking at her makeup. Samantha was very sweet and super professional. I loved how she took the time to ask me questions about my event and the outfit I planned to wear. I really appreciated how thorough she was before starting on my face and took the time to clean all her tools and brushes. The makeup turned out AMAZING! I had so many compliments that night, I felt fantastic! I'm so glad I met Samantha and had such a great experience. I was lucky to have not only one person helping me look and feel my best but also Dwight who is the best at brows and lashes!! He was really helpful. Made sure to apply the best lashes to compliment my eyes. This was my first experience wearing lashes and will not be my last!! Samantha and Dwight made a great team and were really fun to work with.
