You are not greeted upon entry .The store is very unclean . Displays are dusty , smeared with makeup, and unkept . A lot of the inventory is not there and appears they could restock immediately. Taruna and Brianna are horrible in the checkout stand - not friendly , make you wait to take calls that come in , and then hold conversations with each other as one rings you up. This is for the Eleodoro location. I went in today for a haircut. I would say that the stylist is the level that I got to cut my hair. She had a vibe of not really being sure of what she was doing. A hairdresser that picks up the hair and parts it step by step in my opinion is when you will receive a good haircut. You should always look better when leaving than when you come in. If I don't I do not tip. Ulta feels it has the best and as far as I know do not give senior discounts. So, make sure of what you are spending before going if you live on a budget. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Ulta Beauty at 3333 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75034. I booked a 2.5-hour appointment that I waited 1 month for, only to have it canceled on the same day. And then they scheduled me after 20 days and a day before the appointment, again, they cancelled abruptly. Scheduling a beauty service requires planning, and to be canceled last minute, not once, but two times, is both unprofessional and disrespectful of a customer's time. On top of that they were very rude on the call. There was no effort to accommodate or prioritize a reschedule after these repeated cancellations. It's frustrating, disappointing, and honestly just poor customer service. If you can't honor appointments after making someone wait that long, what's the point of even offering the service? read more

I came in here ro reward myself with a new fragrance. Fragrances are at the front of the store. They only have testers available. You would have to ask an associate to stop what they're doing and go get your perfume from, what I'm assuming since they're not available by the tester, the back room. This store must've experience high SHRINK, and as a result had to only display testers (which looked unorganized might I add). Avoid this Ulta if you wish to buy perfume. Sephora is sounding really nice right now. I won't return. read more

Went in for some Christmas gifts and experienced what I can only describe as racial profiling. Employees were rude and immediately tried to redirect me away from the perfume case (I wanted to purchase 2 perfumes) and when they finally opened the case they then tried to object to me buying two. The perfumes were then snatched from me and I was told I couldn't have them until I'd checked out. Two women then proceeded to follow me and my friend around the store and watch us like we were stealing. Disappointing and rude behavior. I went into the store today around 3:45 to purchase more makeup and facial cleanser. I couldn't find the correct shade I needed and spent at least 15 minutes trying to figure it out. Meanwhile an employee runs to help another woman that was shopping as well while 2 other employees stood chatting in the front. At one point I had walked to the front of the store and stood right next to them trying to google the product I needed and they still didn't bother to speak with me. I started to walk to the other side to shop and thought "what am I doing" and left. Of course no one said thanks for coming in, then again I wasn't greeted when I came in so no surprise there. The manager stated their offerings did not include a dry cut, only wash, style & cut. I was asked what service I wanted prior to my arrival. I walked away not getting the service I requested upon making my appointment. The manager did not even come to explain and left her decision to the stylist. I am the customer and would like to pay for the service I requested. I drove from McKinney to Frisco, 20 miles at $4 gallon and not receive the service I've received in the past. So I LOVE Ulta but this Ulta is just awful. The worst I've ever been to. Their lines over the holidays were incredibly long and they never added more registers. They are constantly out of product. I've been to Ultas where the staff truly make is a great experience but not this one. It feels like the equivalent of shopping at Walgreens. It's a huge disappointment. Walked in, up to salon desk. Was not greeted, or told "someone will be right with you" so stood there for 5 min while they tried to fix the mess up with the customer in front of me (they had not scheduled her appt correctly) The lady who was supposed to be doing my hair color at 3:45, was JUST starting highlights on another client at 3:45 ummm, what's the point of having an appt!? (Found out it was a bayalage) ANYWAY..... So, i sit down in her seat, and i said something about having an appt for 20 min ago, and she made a comment about "well, you can't rush me".....ummm what? Like get y'alls schedule together!!!!! Unprofessional! I have 2 small children at home, like i have to schedule stuff! She applies the bleach to my head, i have asked twice, "how much am i looking at today?" Literally twice, i have been told "i won't know until I'm done" ummm what??? I've just spend $900 trying to lift my hair over the past couple of months (not at Ulta), i came here, because i was told on the phone $150, now I'm being told "i won't know until I'm done" As I am sitting getting lifted, under heaters. My stylist is talking to the manager about how she's not going to be able to take her 5:45pm appt, she can't do her any earlier than 6:15.....unacceptable, like get your shit together people! So disorganized! ****If you have kids, or any kind of schedule, this place is not for you, they do not care!**** Stylist told me "Get someone to watch your kids because i can't rush" i mean i understand that, but how about you start on time, so i don't have to be here longer than i already have to be, what a concept, don't over-schedule! She only bleached my roots and toned, and charged me $250 THEN, my platinum turns to green, it's white on top and green on bottom! The staff was very not social, didn't really interact with customers, at least the one who did my hair! I'm at home now, and want to cry. Will be calling corporate, $250 for platinum roots, is unacceptable. I look like a broke stripper who dyed her hair from Walmart boxed bleach! I wanted to edited to say, management when i expressed that i was totally unsatisfied, and didn't feel it was fair to charge me for this botched job, immediately took care of me, and gave my money back so i can go and get it fixed somewhere, so management at least took care of it for me, so i can go get this fixed, however, it will not be at this particular location. Bri the master stylist at this salons location did an amazing job! She had to fix a lot of the damage I did to my hair. She was attentive and extremely knowledgeable. The color and cut is beautiful! I am absolutely in love with it! My coworker loved my new hair and says she's super jealous! So you know it's good! ;) I'll be coming back to Bri from now on and will remain from touching my hair ever again! Highly recommend her! I also wanted to mention Ashley over at the benefit brow bar! She shaped my brows beautifully! And gave me a beautiful arch! I've been to the benefit brow bar downtown and I didn't really care for what they did to my brows there! DO NOT TRUST THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS Why? Because every 90 days I drop $300 plus tip for a keratin treatment on my hair. To keep from washing this treatment down the drain, I must avoid most shampoos because they have sodium, sulfates, and other kryptonite for keratin treatments. Because I'm not a chemist I rely on others to decipher labels because there are ingredients that sound harmless but are not. So when my hair grew tired of the shampoo my stylist recommended, I came to Ulta to find something new (cue ominous music here). The help is hit or miss - I get a greeting 25% of the time, and I get assistance maybe 50% of the time. I usually just Google my questions as the employees talk amongst themselves. But this time I was determined to get help. I asked for a good shampoo to preserve my keratin and the employee handed me Keratin Complex for $20 - cheaper than my former brand - yay! After reviewing the ingredients I saw what looked like another form of sulfate so I asked again. Soon I had 3 employees, one who works in the salon crossing their hearts and pinky swearing that this was the shampoo they always recommend for keratin treated hair. Guess what - recently the internets read my mind and up popped the article I should have read in the first place "Click here to see which shampoos will ruin your keratin treatment" and yep, there was the shampoo they physically handed me and that I have been using for 2 weeks. Damage done, and I can expect to be returning to the salon sooner than usual due to this mishap. I guess I was better off all the times I had to Google answers for myself :( read more

I was in picking up last minute Christmas gifts and couldn't find what I needed. I noticed a representative who seemed very friendly, asking people if they needed any help, so I asked her to please help me find what I was looking for. She told me "it's on the other side of the store." Never tried to show me, point me in a general direction, nothing. Another representative overheard the conversation, came over, and was more than happy to help me. She walked with me over to the exact location, showed me where my products were, and even went to get more for me out of the back. Her name is Shae and she was so very polite and helpful. I then called the store to complain, talked to the manager Mattie, and she was just as polite, courteous and helpful. I appreciate them both being so helpful and making a bad situation better. read more

Sooo the woman who cut my hair was very aggressive with my head, she was annoyed because someone else was supposed to cut my hair I think. I liked my haircut in the end, but the process was very unpleasant. She was getting shampoo & water all over my face while she washed my hair & actually burned my forehead with the straightener at one point. Then I tried to check out & the chip in my card would not work & it would not let me swipe it. They had no way to swipe a card that has a chip & no way to just punch in the number or pay online. The woman who works there told me to buy online email gift cards & that I could buy it for a specific dollar amount. I was also told they would come immediately to my email. As soon as I got online I saw that you could only buy 25 50 or 100 dollars, not wanting to spend 100 dollars for my haircut I made 2 purchases for 25 & 50. I waited almost an hour & they did not come to my email, only the order confirmation came. Then I asked if my friend came & paid if I could return the cards or be reimbursed, I was again told yes. After I left I called customer service on which a woman told me they do not do returns on gift cards, when I explained the situation & that I had been told they would and I NEVER GOT MY GIFT CARDS emailed at all she told me to hold & then hung up on me. When I called again a man seemed like he would be helpful but after 40 mins of holding & answering questions he connected me to the gift card department who also told me they couldn't do anything. I'm out over 100 dollars so that I could get my haircut & straight up lost 75 to ulta. I go to ulta for all of my haircuts & makeup but if they do not make this right neither me nor my family will be going to any ulta locations again. The staff at this location was so uneducated about the gift cards they were cornering me in to buying. I would have just left but I had to pay for the haircut I already got. 4 hours later I have not received my gift cards, but I don't want them, I want my money back. Worst haircut of my life. Went for a trim with hair half down my back. She took 2" off and gave me a poorly cut layer that made it stick out weird. Manager told me to come back to "fix" it. She cut it dry!! She wound up taking 2 more inches off and this weird layer is still there..sticking out. She never said she was sorry it happened. Never apologized for the inability of the stylist. She said my hair is really thick, as if that were an excuse. I've had hundreds of haircuts over the years and nobody had a problem because my hair was thick. I had hair long enough to wear in a braid down my back and it is now shoulder length. They need to get some hair stylists. But I will never go back. read more

I am not at all impressed by this Ulta. I have had issues with both the salon and the store front. Though their $55 promotions for a cut and color are great, I would only suggest taking advantage of it if you have a simple haircut or are only in need of a trim. The woman who was cutting my hair first asked me if my hair was round or square. The only time I've been asked that question is when getting my nails done. Second, she tried to talk me out of dying my hair the nice brownish reddish color that I had been getting for a while. My hair, I will color it as I want to. Third, I had to tell her how to cut angled bangs, and she still only cut one side of my bangs. The haircut was just okay, and I will not be returning for another haircut, even though she pushed her card on me because she did not want me to forget her name when I made my next appointment. As far as the actual store and shopping goes, they do have great selection and their little coupons are a nice touch, but the attitudes of the sales girls at the register is honestly offensive. I've shopped at this one about 3 or 4 times, and every time I approach them to be rung up, they treat me as if I am wasting their time. They're not friendly at all and seem bored. At least fake it if you're not feeling it. Go to the Sephora in Stonebriar instead; they actually want you in there. read more

Review of my salon experience: I had to make a last minute appointment here when my guy went out of town. I had never used an Ulta Salon so I knew I was taking a major risk by going to someone new. (Finding a good stylist is harder than finding a good pair of jeans) Turns out my stylist was great. She gave me exactly what I wanted and I left loving my new do. However, my overall experience wasn't all roses. I arrived a few minutes early. When I went to check in no one was at the desk. All the stylists were busy with customers so I waited patiently. A woman came up to the desk from the back room and answered the phone. As soon as she hung up she walked away; never even said hello. The phone rang again soon after and she was back. This time she asked me if I "needed something." I told her I was there for an appointment. She gestured toward the stylists and said mine was with a customer. So I bluntly told her I was new and didn't know who my stylist was. Then I could see a light bulb go off over her head. As I was getting my cut, my stylist and the woman from the desk held a conversation in a foreign language. It was a page right out of nail salon 101. Were they talking about me, making lunch plans, getting ready to take over the world? Who knows. But it was annoying and totally unprofessional. So while I liked my stylist, I have very little to compliment the salon on overall. I'm not sure if I'll continue to go here or use this as an emergency backup. read more

I'm super disappointed that I went to get a sale item on this weeks flyer to find out ALL Ulta stores are sold out (and I didn't come by this information easily, it look 2 sales girls to help me then point me to the manager for real USELESS help). So, I decided to try new mascara. Sales girl #1, from earlier useless help, recommended a product that completely clumped on my really long lashes. Bless her heart for trying to help...really she tried. She turned me over to the "experts" at the cosmetic counter where 1 girl worked for Benefit. She did the worst demo EVER of the products I asked to see then called over another "expert" who actually did a moderate demo of a mascara...but not too good because I can't remember the name. On top of all that, I had to take a clean wand with make up remover to run it through my lashes to attempt to get the first mascara off. It was EVERYWHERE, and on my hands too...what a mess. OK: enough ranting, you get the point. Just don't go to Ulta expecting department store service...you get what you pay for. PS: Walmart matches prices so if you see something in the ulta flyer and they don't have it, try getting it at the walmart salon. read more

I had my first Diva cut today. I have curly hair and have spent most of my life straightening because I want a more polished professional look. Very disappointing experience with Ulta. I tried using the web site. It was not functioning. It got hung up up during several attempts. Pivoting to a phone call. The voice mail offered two options: press 1 for appointments, 4 for all other inquiries. Neither functioned. It hung up on me 4 times. Salons are struggling during this pandemic.
