About a month and a half ago, I visited ULTA BEAUTY and the salesgirl said I could get a discount, if I opened an ULTA BEAUTY charge card. So I signed up. I never got a bill for my purchase - neither by mail nor email. Then yesterday I got a bill in the mail saying I had not paid my bill. My late fee was more than I paid for the product! And the credit card arrived just a day or two before. I tried calling customer service. On the one phone line, there was a shrill buzzing noise. On the other, a girl named Jessica answered. I told her I wanted to discuss my bill. She immediately changed the subject to something she was trying to sell me. I told her I wasn't interested, but I needed to talk to someone about the bill. She kept up her sales pitch. I had to hang up on her. I may get stuck with this fraudulent bill & have to pay it, but I will NEVER use their charge card again and will try to avoid ULTA altogether. read more

The manager (blonde hair) very unprofessional. I pick up orders from this store all the time (twice this past week) I show them the barcode on my email, a picture of my ID and they hand me my order, no issues. Today this manager decided she will only accept a physical ID because that's "their policy". Im sorry but that's BS because this isn't my first time. If that's the policy and how it usually is then I'd have no issue but that isn't the case. I also told her I was on my lunch break and can't make it back with an ID (left my purse at work) and if she can please make an exception today and she goes "we cant go against policy" oh yea? What about the all the countless times I've been there? Where were your policies then? Marie is literally a hair goddess , she fixed my botched COVID hair and totally restored my confidence in my hair. I have been coming back regularly for over a year and get compliments about my cut all the time. I highly recommend her, not only for her talent but for her customer service skill and overall professionalism. The other salon members are also amazing and I have gotten excellent service and haircuts from them. ONE STAR I give one star to the mean worker who assumed I would be stealing shampoo/ conditioners within ten minutes of me entering the store, she cut off another employee and escorted my items to the front counter. She stated it was store policy yet I saw no other customers being told they could not bring their jumbo shampoo and conditioner to the front, I never heard of this policy, so I was being profiled as a thief, RUDE specially where I was in there to not only shop for myself and family (Christmas shopping) but to get my bangs trimmed at the salon. MUST READ! DONT GO HERE THEY ARE RUDE! If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I had the worst experience here when I needed help with my hair products. 2 weeks ago I asked a lady if she could help me find a product that can help strengthen my follicles and speed up growth in my hair. I told her I have been stressed with school and work and she ignored my problems and said that my hair "needs to be cut because it looked like it was bleached and damaged from getting it done" she told me I needed bondi boost and I trusted her. After using bondi boost it made me lose more hair than normal (estimate of 700 hairs). I stopped using it and realized it was for damaged hair to help strengthen and make it grow fast. This was not the case for my hair, my hair was perfectly healthy it was just the roots that needed help due to the serious amount of stress I experienced. This was a medical condition not a hair problem really. I went back today to explain what happened to another employee in the front desk. She asked what was wrong with it and I explained all of this to her but she was obviously not listening. She then replied "sorry about that, would you like this returned in the same card"... I gave up because I felt like crying and left. Don't go here if you need help they don't care and they don't know anything about respect and common courtesy. I am TOO much of a regular at Ulta Glendora - thanks to my difficult skin. It is my favorite place to shop. Friendly representatives introduced me to two product lines that substantially improved my complexion: Exuviance and Beekman 1802. On rare occasions, though, salespeople gave me attitude when I declined other lines. I once came for my cleanser. A man approached me and began talking to me about his skincare line. When I explained that my skin is very oily/sensitive and I feel most comfortable staying with Exuviance, he asked "what I liked about it" with sarcastic resignation -- because there was no point in talking to me anymore. Another time, Carlos assisted my 68-year-old mother in a walker with eyebrow product selection. She said she wanted a simple pencil. He said, "I have something from Benefit, but it is a 5-product palette. (Which requires an intermediate skill level to use). He referenced this Benefit product as if it was the only option in the store. She did not want it, but he kept pushing Benefit anyway. So I said, "Can we go with Anastasia?" His face fell. "Yeah," he said, flatly. I asked if someone else could help her. A kind Lancôme representative assisted her from there. Another time, Carlos noticed I had Chanel "Blue" in my basket. He had the gall to GRAB IT OUT OF MY handheld basket WITHOUT ASKING, saying, "I am going to bring this to the front, because it will beep." No other salesperson had ever done that to me before. If you don't want customers handling expensive fragrances, maybe you should lock them up behind the counter like Walgreens does with nicotine gum. With other topics, too, Carlos redirects the conversation back to himself. I complimented one of his tattoos, and he said, "I like it, too," -- instead of, maybe, thanking me. I also said something about a place being fun, and he said, "I am fun, too!" It is probably just a personality clash, but I couldn't help but think: Gee, it is always about him, be it commission or small talk. This selfish associate certainly doesn't care about my feelings. First time Booking olaplex treatment with included blow dry here. The stylist refused to do blow dry. Insisted its extra even after I showed the service and what it included which clearly states a blow dry included. (You can check the website). She basically said I can go home with wet hair or pay for it. I asked for manager, she said it was her. That makes the service misleading or the stylist just wanted to up-charge. Of course I paid since the plan was to get a treatment with blow dry. My hair was still frizzy after the blow out, never had a stylist unable to do a sleek blow out. I don't really come to this Ulta but they had the products I needed so I stopped by to do a store pick up. Once I got up to the counter the associate, Alyssa , was very rude and moody. I had to do a return as well and she sounded annoyed when I told her I needed to do a return. I never had an issue doing returns at the chino or Ontario location, I even had my receipt and the product wasn't used, and she shook the bottle and said that next time I do a return to make use it's product isn't 20% used. I was taken back because the plastic was still around the product so I'm not sure how she was able to "guess" the percentage used when it wasn't even used. And even if it was used other locations have never give me an issue. Horrible service . read more

It was my first time getting my hair cut at Ulta and honestly one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. The stylist didn't really listen to my request. She didn't really understand what I was saying or try to understand what I was saying about how I want my hair cut. Instead, she just kept pushing for an A-line cut. I'm pretty blasé, so I just let her do it because I just wanted to get my hair cut and leave. In the end it wasn't even an A-line cut.. if anything it was the opposite of an A-line to a U-line. The ends were cut super blunt and I'm just not happy with it. I'm not only unhappy about the cut but the price too!! It costed $45 +tips for the cut... GIRL. Really?? I can go down the street to Fantastic Sam's and get a better cut for way cheaper. Luckily, they have a first time 15% off deal so I don't have to pay THAT much but it was still $35 I'm never going to see again. The stylist tried but there was no sincerity. She didn't listen to me when I was giving her my information, she didn't listen to me when I asked for warm water to wash my hair, she didn't listen to what I wanted to cut my hair, and she didn't listen to me when I said it was my first time and to apply the discount. Most definitely will not come back for a haircut. Sorry. ALSO, when I was standing in line to pay in the front there was an altercation between customers about which way the line went. I try to avoid Ulta when I can, as cashiers are extremely pushy about getting your contact information when you make purchases. Today was the worst. The cashier asked for my information over and over. After I refused multiple times, she stated- twice- that I could not make returns if I did not provide contact information. Per Ulta's policy, this is not true...anyone can make a return within a given timeframe, provided they have an original receipt. Ulta, please consider eliminating whatever incentives you may be providing cashiers who obtain customer contact information- I'd like to continue making purchases without the current experience. On a more positive note, I encountered a very helpful salesperson on the floor. In less than ~five minutes, he listened to my needs and was able to locate an appropriate product. Came in for a blowout and makeup in preparation for a formal wedding I was attending later that afternoon. Joyce I. took care of me! I came in with unwashed hair and a clean face and she asked what I had in mind. I have shoulder length (lob) and was just looking for a clean blowout with volume she did just that. My daughter and I went to this location to purchase some makeup. We were not welcomed nor asked if we needed any assistance despite many employees hanging around. I did notice that the employees were selective of the people they asked, that's systemic racism for you. I went in to randomly buy foundation to hide red dry blotchiness that befell my face in my 30's. Having never actually worn makeup any more than a few special ocasionas that I can count on my hands I have to admit I was way in over my head. Thankfully the lovely staff was able to help me buy everything I needed. Beauty shops are always incredibly daunting I never expected the level of care and service provided. Samantha was very kind and demonstrated the products on my face and taught me how to apply makeup. I haven't had a chance to try it but I'm looking forward to practicing. The person in front of me finished checking out then asked the clerk about one of her tattoos on her arm. The clerk proceeded to tell her about it, where she got it and the name of the person who did the work. This place was a madhouse today! Line was super long here. I feel like there were so many people working the floor and salon, but not enough at the register.
