I received a birthday email saying I could redeem a free birthday gift, and the website showed that the gift would be a Moroccanoil product. My mother-in-law and I both have birthdays around the same time, so we went to the store expecting to receive it. Instead, we were told that the only available options were acne patches or mascara. That was very disappointing because it was completely different from what was advertised. We even made purchases, but we decided not to redeem the birthday gifts because it felt misleading. This left a bad impression. If the advertised birthday gift isn't actually available, customers should be informed before making the trip. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. read more

I used to love this particular Ulta and I've quite frequently spent a lot of money there but lately it is just become a click I don't have time for you kind of place. I went to get my hair colored because my stylist was on vacation and I thought this was more convenient. I would just stop in here and they couldn't even give me the color and was so rude and turned me away, which my God isn't this a business that does Hair and from what I understand I have a very basic color. Ulta Beauty Hair Salon now installs tape in hair extensions! You buy them at Sally Hansen and bring them in to the Ulta Beauty Hair Salon and ask for an appointment with Lucy or a walk in appointment to put in a few tape ins and they usually if not busy have time from like 12pm til 2:15pm. I recommend Lucy at the Ulta Beauty in Hoffman Estates, IL. She did a fabulous job on my hair and they lasted for an entire month to two months which is absolutely unheard of most the time for tape ins in my hair that's fine and thin. I asked her to not add volume or bulk. I wanted then flat against my head with no helmet head look. She did it! Received full highlights at this salon, and did not get what I asked for my hair stylist asked me multiple times what color I wanted and I told her and she said okay. Then towards the end another stylist told her I wasn't able to get to the color I wanted. Either way it was super unevenly colored. She had me fill out a questionnaire about my skin type and conditions, then she made some suggestions on types of facials that could work for me. She ended up choosing calming and relaxing elements since I was stressed from work and my skin was super dry. I can honestly say that I have never felt more relaxed in my entire life! There was soft, soothing music playing in the background to enhance the experience. She was so gentle, but really cleaned out my pores! I was impressed afterward with how hydrated and clean my face was! I'm definitely going to be coming back in a few months, AND I'm going to bring my husband! I think I should do two different reviews on this Ulta. A review on the shopping experience and another on my experience getting a facial....... Well this one, will be about my experience getting a moisturizing facial at Ulta by Vanessa! Vanessa is great, I really like her. I got a 60min facial and my skin concern was lack of moisture (due to a bunch of recent travels in the friendly sky). Upon arrival, Vanessa was very welcoming and warm. We had a brief conversation about my skin background and she gave great suggestions as to what we should do for our facial session. I wish I could remember everything she did in the facial, but it was a lot lol. I do remember she cleansed, exfoliated, did two 10min mask and some dermablading (I don't remember what it was called) thing to extract blackheads and finished with serums and moisturizers. Vanessa and I chatted about everything under the sun during my treatment, she makes you feel very comfy. Once the treatment was done, felt like I just made a new friend and personal esthetician. We definitely scheduled our next appt for 4 weeks out. My skin is glowing and feels smooth, I loved it and I am extremely particular about my skin!! read more

On 09/14/21 around 7pm I went to this location to purchase a certain foundation. They didn't end up having the foundation at that location, so the sales rep was trying to sell me other foundations. I asked for samples because before I commit to purchasing a high end foundation I first want to make sure the shade is right and my skin works with it. When I asked for a sample she became very stand off and didn't give me a sample. She didn't even give me the option to purchase the foundation I originally wanted online and have it shipped to me or the store. Now I am only going to take my business to Sephora. read more

I'm super bummed at all the negative reviews on here, as I love this Ulta and the staff. Helen is my favorite employee, she always is super helpful. Consuela does my brows at the Benefit brow bar and she's amazing. I'm there so often some of the employees know me and always go out of their way to say hi. And Ulta has a whole has always been my go to. They have such a great points program and I've always had great experience with their employees. I do however agree some employees should be trained a bit better before helping, but I also know no one is perfect! read more

I usually love ulta but I wasn't impressed with this ulta. I had some questions on products I wanted to buy and nobody would help me. I walked around the store many times looking for a worker and after a while I found them all talking in the corner. A worker then picked out a color for me that was 2 shades too light. I am very unimpressed and was very interested in buying prestigious products. Also the worker looked me up and down as if she was judging me for not looking rich or put together as predicting that I was not going to buy expensive products. We even brought the bottle with the shade listed on it so it'd be easier for them to grab for us since we were in a rush. All we got from her was ATTITUDE and the wrong foundation in the WRONG color. She didn't even ask if it was correct or make sure we were all set. It was more of a "here." Shoved it into our hands and walked away situation. Then she went back to another employee and continued talking to her about her son. So much for being sales and customer driven. I normally love Ulta. This was my first time visiting this location. I was looking for a couple specific products (Too Faced Born this Way Setting Powder and Smashbox primer water) and I wasn't able to find either. There was not any staff in sight. I browsed on my own for probably 10 was to 15 minutes before a woman finally approached me. She asked if I needed help. She looked irritated and was chewing gum with her mouth open. I said no thank you and she walked away. She then followed me around the store, as if she thought I was going to steal something. I looked back at her once to try and make eye contact with her, but she was looking at her phone. There was only one other girl I saw in the store and she was working the register. She did her job absolutely fine, but there was a long wait in line. I will stick to my ulta in Schaumburg from now on. read more

I went to this Ulta to get my daughter's haircut. We showed up at the appointed time at 6pm. The only stylist was in the process of serving another client. She came up and said that she was the only stylist but I had to wait and it will be a few minutes. The woman getting her hair done had wet hair, nothing close to being done. I pressed how long and she said 15 -20 mins. I waited more than 25 minutes after which she was done. We were standing there but she did not acknowledge me and continued doing what she was, neither was she apologetic about the wait. I cancelled and walked out. Last time, the stylist had started doing my daughter's hair and in the middle of the haircut went to help some other customer for about 20 mins. She came back and apologized. I was somewhat annoyed but went back because at least she had been courteous. No going back to the salon for me. read more

Went in for a haircut, salon was completely unstaffed. Walked to the front counter and asked the cashier (who was nice and helpful) if location still did haircuts. She called a manager who told me all salon employees were at a training. Manager seemed unsure as to when they were expected back, said anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours, but "I could wait". Walked in to the salon just to get a simple blow-out...It was by far the WORST experience I've ever had at any salon. I walked out looking like I just went to the beach...my hair looked filthy and it was the frizziest it has ever been. Basically, my hair looked better before I walked in. I had to rush home before my event and re-wash and blow dry my hair. If a beautician can't even blow dry someone's hair properly, I fear what other services she would totally butcher.
