This is the not the first time I have had a negative experience at this store but today was simple awful. As I was shopping around I was wearing headphones, as I have social anxiety and listening to music helps me shop. An older gentleman who had a scooter he was on that was working aggressively asked if I needed help 3 times and just kept staring at me. I nodded no politely while I tried to keep looking around. After not being able to find the product I was there for I decided to ask him for help. I had checked the app before and it said it was in stock so I asked him about the product and showed him an image from the ulta app and he nearly yelled, "oh we don't carry that brand here!" To which I was confused. I politely explained that Ulta does carry that brand and I just saw another product from that line in the store and needed help finding this one and that the app says in stock at this store. He again got aggressive and said, "Oh that app NEVER works! It doesn't know our stock at all and I told you we don't carry that brand!" He said scoffing at me. I felt very uncomfortable and as if he was discriminating towards me or something based on how he spoke to me. I was so uncomfortable I wanted to just end the conversation but he aggressively said: "where did you even see this brand?" In a very defensive tone and I showed him where it was. When looking at it I pointed to where is said the product I was looking for on the shelf and he scoffed, took my phone from my hand to look and said : "yeah we don't have it." I was very confused why he was being so aggressive with me and rude when I was nothing but polite. I nodded just wanting to leave and then asked if they possibly hadn't put the product on the floor or if he could see if it was in the back or ask someone where it could be and he again was so rude to me and said "we just got shipment Thursday and I know we don't have it!" After this I was so put off I quickly left the area he was in because of his he was treating me. I was confused how he could go from so adamantly telling me they didn't carry that brand to all the other things he said. I work in customer service and run a store and could never understand how someone in customer service could act like this. His aggressive and rude attitude the entire transaction was too much for me and I don't believe I will return after this. read more

This staff is rude. They profile you and follow you around the store then pressure you into buying something. I was trying to get some skin care, reading labels, taking my time and within 10 minutes (probably less) 4 employees asked me if I needed help. I know thats is their job but this was excessive. They were hovering over me, not allowing me to shop in peace. One girl with dark hair and sun glasses ( she looked like a secret shopper not an employee within dress code) asked me if i needed help finding something to which I replied "no thank you" and continued on looking at what I needed then she followed me further and asked again " are you sure, you don't need eye shadow or something?" I giggled and said no, while I'm clearly looking at skin care. These employees profile customers and follow them around the store speaking into their walkies about customers and peaking around corners and over displays to watch you. I was not stealing and never even got close to looking like I was going to steal. I don't understand. I wish I wouldn't have given this location any of my money but I did because I felt pressured into buying something so they wouldn't think I stole ( even though there would be zero evidence if I was accused because I didn't steal) the cashier was rude at check out and didn't ask if I had trouble finding something, which I did. Okay I walked in without a clue on what I was looking for and this location was super busy too but I was willing to wait for a skin care expert and I'm so glad I did Monique was absolutely such an amazing help she really understood what I needed and I almost felt bad taking so much of her time asking so many questions but I feel like I finally was educated in what I needed for my skin rather than told what I should buy. Ulta is absolutely one of my favorite places to go, and this specific location was the very first makeup store I ever stepped foot, so I feel bad leaving this bad of a review. You Ulta managers made me do this though. This location is just a mess over all; they are never fully stocked with anything, out of the same products week after week, you can't ever find the 'tester' in the perfume section, in the higher end makeup 'testers' are always out of product or in terrible condition, floors are always dirty, and while there are plenty of girls on the floor to follow your every move and ask time after time if you need help, there aren't enough to help in checkout. I always, hands down, prefer to drive out of my way to the Tempe Market Place location bc it's a completely opposite environment! Come on ladies, let's make it happen read more

I've had difficulties with this Ulta on too many occasions. More recently, the last two visits us why I won't be returning here. Yesterday I brought my items to the cashier to check out, and I get home and the one thing I actually needed, that I went there for in the first place, the cashier must have missed. The IGK coconut milky conditioner. I'm sure most women can relate on running out of conditioner living in AZ sucks! It's strange too because she rang some of my items up then sat there staring at me and assuming she was finished I had to point to two of my items still sitting there in front of her snd said politely, "I'll be getting these too." So she goes and rings them up, or so I thought, but I'm missing the conditioner of course. At least this time it's not on the receipt! Back in December I went in with my best friend on Christmas eve bought a little over $900 worth of items and come to find I was missing this Tula moisturizing lotion that cost $78 (before taxes) and I looked on the receipt and noticed that AND this little $6.99 lip scrubber I was charged for was also not in my bag. So Id paid for almost $100 for items that somehow did not get out in my bags. Assuming maybe it was my fault I scoured my vehicle and turned my house upside down. Nothing. So I call and speak with the manager who told me all they can do is check the cameras and that she'd call me back. I still haven't heard anything. I thought about saying something this past visit remembering thatd happened but it was already 7pm and everyone was making their final purchases and I had my 4 year olds with me who was already anxiously waiting for dinner, and it was a school night last night. I'm also not one to make a big stink of things, I don't do well with conflict or confrontation so for that I guess I'll just cut my losses. I won't be returning to this ulta. Maybe I'll just go to a different location I don't know. I spend thousands of dollars a year there I'm a diamond member and have been a member for almost 10 years now. It's just frustrating and I love ulta, but for this location to be at close as they are to Sephora, they should really get the chaos under control. Seems hectic there a little too often. read more

I love Ulta!!! I wish I didn't, because I tend to spend more money in this place than I should. This is a girls place to get everything beauty related. I have been there too many times to count. I went in last Monday, and there was a super helpful guy working there. If he's straight, boy is he smart, this is definitely the place to meet chics. Anyway, of course the main item I was looking there was gone. I asked the guy if they had anymore. I kind of expected the standard "everything we have is out", which I never believe, but he was happy to go look. Not kidding. OK, maybe happy is the wrong word, he showed me positive attitude, and was helpful. A minute later he came out with the Holy Grail, I mean the powder I was there for and hands it to me. I know it seems like such a dumb thing to be happy about, but I so appreciate good service these days. They also have a great fragrance selection, and you don't need to bother with those annoying department store fragrance counters. I can smell all the fragrance I want, and no one bugs me. I could go on with more stories about the good experiences I've had at this place, but that would be boring. Just go yourself and, get some hot rollers while you are there. read more

Damnitt Ulta! Why can't you stock ALL of your product at the Ulta cosmetic table reliably?? I have received more than a few Ulta gift certificates from my husband as gifts and I always get burned when I go in to redeem them; needing X, Y and Z, but only being able to find X in a shade darker than I use, and Y is out of stock, and I can find 4 tubes of Z, but they are all testers and have already been opened. I like Ulta's cosmetic line and would use it exclusively, but it it's impossible to fill my cosmetic bag with Ulta's stuff because they are apparently incapable of keeping the inventory stocked and organized! How hard is it to have a few of each item and color and ONE tester?? Adding to the frustration is that when you have to backfill your cosmetic bag with other cosmetic brands (that you couldn't test the colors on because they don't have testers) and you are pretty much screwed out of $11 if you get home and discover that a Revlon True Beige is not remotely the same color across the board in their different foundation lines. Aaargh! Oh, and their coupons have so many product exclusions that's it's actually kinda funny, kinda like a game to see what you actually can use their coupons on...not much. The only good thing that I noticed on my last visit to Ulta was that they are now offering an extensive selection of name brand rollerball perfumes, so now I don't need to get a huge bottle of my favorite Calvin Klein Euphoria perfume for my purse, I can get it in a handy little $20 rollerball. So yay for that! Finally, the parking here sucks. Protip: I suggest you park over by Fry's on the other side of the block. Otherwise use the Ulta in Chandler for better parking. read more

Normally when I visit Ulta, I'm serving only as Jenny's arm candy and bag carrier. She seems to know what she's doing (until she gets off track -- but that's like me at Home Depot so all good) and, aside from the perpetual checkout line (which I see others have posted about) the experience is pretty painless. But when she handed me some container of some stuff and asked me to swing by Ulta to pick up another one, I figured this place would take care of me no problem. I mean, I did have the exact product I wanted to purchase. But from the moment I walked it, I felt invisible. There were plenty of employees but, aside from the ones who were helping customers, the rest were inconveniently (or, conveniently for them) in accessible. When I finally eyed a free body down the aisle, she slipped off the floor. Finally I decided to wait by the counter in the middle because it seemed like the most likely place to be clear that I was not just browsing. During my wait there though, I happened to stumble upon the product. Even as I stood there for a moment, verifying that this was indeed THE EXACT ITEM I BROUGHT IN THE STORE, no one approached me. Come on -- I had to look confused. I'm some dude at Ulta who doesn't belong in Ulta. Get me in, get me served, get my money, and get me on my way. I unfortunately had a terrible experience and unfortunately or fortunately I won't be returning to this location. In the make up industry we always hear that it is a constant battle to get shade ranges that adhere to all skin types and colors, that has been no secret. On top of that it is also no secret that black owned make up companies have to fight 10xs harder to get recognition however there are a few that have exceedingly done so and have made it into stores such as Ulta and Sephora. Some of those popular brands include Fenty Beauty, Juvia's Palace, Milano, Black Opal, etc. working in a makeup store you either have to be an MUA like myself or know the products in your field aka know make up. I asked the representative KAYLA specifically if this particular Location carried black oval products after seeing on Google that they do. Kayla then proceeded to ask into her headset if any of the workers have ever heard of the brand black opal. Not once did I ask if she had heard of the brand, I asked if they carried it. Why? Because everyone has heard of black opal. After allegedly being told no one has heard of this brand she then asked if it was for hair care when I specifically said make up. I advised her that Ultas typically carry the brand as reported on Google and that it has been around for years. She then rudely asked if I wanted her to look at other locations and I simply said no. It's a shame that you'd have an employee that minimizes the existence of a black owned make up company nevertheless doesn't even know what it is but works at a make up store and then on top of that has poor customer service. I decided to give a Ulta one last shot. It's just so conveniently close to my house. Waited around the Bare Minerals counter forever for help with foundation matching before finally going and looking for someone.... But then I couldn't find anyone. Two girls were headed to the back talking about how psyched they were to clock out (it was an hour before close) and another girl was ringing people up. You have failed me, Camelback Ulta. I really, really hate writing these sort of reviews, but this is three visits now where the customer service was absent. It has been a long time since I have been in Ulta. I see why I have not been here in a while. First of all I did not get a greeting when I came in the store. No one asked me if I needed help and when I left the lady at the checkout was rude to me and did not tell me to have a nice day to me. I'm sure I'm going a little overboard on this, but normally they are really friendly in this store. While at least the place is really nice, clean and bright, also it is next to my favorite store Last Chance. If you need any accessories for hair and makeup you should totally come here, they have a great selection. O yeah, I came to Ulta for the makeup that I normally wear. It was on sale that day. I would like to update this review with my most recent experience with this location: I booked an online appointment for a gel manicure a few days before I was planning on coming in. I don't typically get my nails done professionally that often, but I wanted to look nice for my birthday weekend. The salon called me THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT and tried to move it to 45 minutes later than I originally planned. I work two jobs and this would have been impossible to accommodate in my schedule. The only solution that the Ulta employee gave me was to book on another day for 10% off. No thank you. I am very upset that I was only notified a few hours before my appointment. It is now too late for me to make an appointment anywhere else, and I literally don't know what to do. Thank you Ulta for a horrible start to my birthday weekend. I don't plan on returning to your salon, and honestly, this may be the last straw for your stores as well. read more

I walked into the store with my friend and went to go look at perfume and IMMEDIATELY the lady security guard came up to us and started asking a bunch of questions and followed us. She was "trying" to be helpful but we already knew what we came into the store for and did not need her help finding anything. Then after she tried to show us all of her favorite perfumes after we already told her we knew what we wanted and we didn't need help. She still did not leave. For almost 10-15 minutes she hovered around my friend and I and we were so uncomfortable we wanted to just leave without purchasing anything but because she was hovering around us we felt like we could not leave. If I could give this store a zero stars I would. Absolutely THE WORST customer service I've ever had. I called for curbside pickup because online wouldn't let me submit the gal tells me "that's because we don't do that now" stating that I can come in. To be honest, I really don't come to Ulta very often due to the fact I purchase my beauty needs at other retailer's. This location is okay, but in my opinion, it seems to have a small selection of products. However, I do like the fact that cosmetics aren't smeared all over the place unlike certain big box retailer's and the fact that they sell higher end cosmetics. If you're going to come here for a wax, go to Rose. Don't go to anyone else here unless you hate your eyebrows... seriously, the rest of them are awful at brows. I've gone to multiple people here (I didn't have a car and this place was walking distance) and I was unhappy every single time EXCEPT with Rose. I also got the worst haircut of my life here. I asked for a bang trim and it looked like it was cut by a 3 year old. I had to pin up the awful mess until it grew out. The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because Rose is great! My brows always look amazing when she's done with them and she's super easy to talk to! I also leave without zero irritation which is important because my skin is SUPER sensitive. I actually had been holding off on reviewing this location, since I had mostly not nice things to say about it, but last night made me finally want to write a little something. I have been coming to this location for AT LEAST 5 years, since I've been in the area. I am in here on a regular basis, about once or twice a month depending on what I run out of. Typically, the staff here is kind of of snotty, and not very attentive. There are tons of staff onsite, but no one ever seems to stop and ask if you need help with anything. Which I find annoying. Because when you have 10000000 foundation shades and lipstick colors to choose from a little help would be nice! Especially for me who isn't "up on all the new stuff and tricks". FINALLY I met Holland last night. I don't recognize her, perhaps she's new, but did have a manager title. Regardless, she was absolutely amazing. SHE deserves all 5 stars. I specifically went in last night when I was baby free to figure out the problem I was having with my foundation and powder shades. Couldn't figure out where I was going wrong. She had her hands full of inventory and they were very busy, but she STILL stopped what she was doing to focus on what I needed. It was exactly what I had been wanting from this store all along, without be actually having to beg someone for help. olland, thank you so much for your opinion and assistance, thanks to you I think I finally have my make up dilemma solved. High five. While they are typically overpriced on a daily basis, every week or two they do run good deals on certain brands, and send you coupons. you also earn points when you're a member. Ulta staff is friendly, helpful, and approachable, kudos to the manager. However, on several visits, it was hard to find someone to assist us. This place seems understaffed. Also, they frequently seem to be out of stock of many items. We love the Ulta brand makeup and the prices are very reasonable. In my opinion, the salon seems to be overpriced, especially for the quality of service. The hairdressers are nice and friendly, but their skills seem to be a little outdated or sub par. One quoted a dry haircut for my daughter at $90, seriously?!? This seems to be a bit excessive. We cancelled the appointment. I guess they set their own prices. First off when I arrived for my hair appointment I was standing at the desk for 15 minutes without being acknowledged, even when there was multiple hair dressers that could of greeted me. they completely ruined my hair. The hair dresser was not experienced at all, one side is way shorter than the other. I asked them to blow dry my hair, I was completely ignored and they used a flat iron. They had low stock on quite a few items I was interested in, rather than suggesting something else comparable for me to look at, (trust me, I was prepared to spend money) they would walk away. I was looking at eyelash curlers and said I didn't like the idea of spending money on a new one when the cheap one I have works (almond eye shape). Love going to Ulta, and this is the closest location to me. However, every time I go into this location it's TRASHED, the makeup is trashed, and they have half of the products they're supposed to. They're "always out" of a product I get at ulta frequently, and I highly doubt it sells out that fast... I feel it's just a lack of maintaining inventory. Also, I had teenagers next to me in the hair isle the other day yelling and using the new products in their hair and then just putting them back on the shelf! I told a couple workers but I don't think anything was done. I use to like Ulta. At least, I think I did. I often went to the Ulta at MetroCenter before it closed, and when it did, I had no choice but to start visiting this Ulta. If it were not for the specific makeup I needed I wouldn't bother coming here. The customer service is non-existent. These so-called makeup artists or whatever they are, shouldn't even exist. To this day, not one of them has ever offered to help me when I go to the store. They stare at me when I walk by but continue chattering away to each other, or seek out the one blonde in the store. I was in BAD need of a GOOD haircut. I knew I wanted bangs, some layers, something cute and sexy..is that possible? Yes it is when you have Kristina cut your hair! Wow! She was really great. She took the time to educate me on what's best for my hair, different bang styles, etc etc. Also, Kristina wasn't a Chatty Cathy...which I loved. Sometimes I like to just sit in quiet and be alone with my thoughts. She allowed me that space while still giving me pertinent information. The only thing is that I would have liked to know up front what all the extras would have cost. Shame on me for not asking though. THIS LOCATION SUCKS! The past 3 times I've been there nearly half the products are out of stock, the store is dirty and the employees are not at all helpful. In addition, the high end makeup area is disgusting, the sample products look like they're have an infection and the displays are dusty or full of dirty makeup. The only reason I stopped in here was for my friend who wanted to purchase shape tape concealer. Since Sephora doesn't sell this product, it forced us to walk into this crappy store. We walked to the Tarte section, but couldn't find the actual shape tape. My friend asked the older male employee with ear piercings and graying hair for help. He quickly made us sound like we were dumb and as if the product was obviously displayed right in front of our faces. She shrugged it off still not knowing where the product was. Once I walked over to her, I found it and we were CLEARLY standing there for TWENTY MINUTES testing out different shades on her face USING MY PHONE FLASHLIGHT for further assistance. ALL THE WHILE HE IS WATCHING US TALKING TO ANOTHER EMPLOYEE. We finally decided on a shade, and as we walked away looking at other products, HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO FINALLY ASK IF WE NEEDED HELP. My friend decided to give him the benefit of the doubt to make sure WE OURSELVES picked out the correct shade. Looking at the concealer, he looked at my friend as if she was dumb stating the shade we picked was "way too light" for her. He proceeds to offer her a medium shade when she is CLEARLY pale. We have her try it on her face, where it obviously does not match her face AT ALL. Not only was he rude, but he was incompetent at his job. Why he was even hired is beyond me. Horrible!!! Went on for a blowout that was advertised with a head massage starting at $35. The stylist RUSHED through the wash with no massage whatsoever! She didn't touch the front of my hair but kept pulling & squeezing the back it while wet. She used a dryer and flatiron SO hot that my hair was burned and stands up like a Chia pet!! The style was frizzy with a few waves at the bottom. It was last night and now my head itches terribly. Either because it wasn't washed or maybe she had dirty brushes. There was no talk about price, she just James me a bill for $40. Hopefully my ends are not too burnt and my color not to destroyed. I went here a couple or years ago, and received a microdermabrasion and some other treatment. This caused permanent scarring, and multiple age spots. My skin never looked so horrible. I have the skin of a 53 year old per a professional spa I went to. Also the dermatologist told me there is scarring caused by it as I had told the esthetician Rose that it was hurting. The damage was done to one side of the face and not the other because of me telling her the suction was too high. Now, I have to pay for expensive treatments to fix the issues. read more

They have a number of colognes for men also bit you can find better pricing else where. They also have a rewards program based on spending. Store is clean. read more

Need to upgrade my makeup and get some tips. I'm not a real fancy make up person. But I had 2 women help me out, didn't make me feel stupid or silly and I left with some much needed new makeup. The best customer service I have experienced in quite some time. They have a huge selection of brands, unfortunately I wasn't familiar with most of them so I can't judge how their pricing runs.
