My wife and I came in looking for perfume for her and skin products for me. I'm not familiar with anything other than bar soap and shampoo, that is about the extent. We came in the store and met Adam. Besides being very friendly, he was a plethora of knowledge. He listened to my questions and made some really good suggestions with explanations so that a layman like myself could understand. I felt very comfortable venturing in to my new world of skincare. I should add that I'm fully immersed in a mid-life crisis and am trying to improve my appearance. Adam really helped. My wife wanted some Tiffany perfume, Adam was able to help with that as well and shared what they had to offer. To simplify, we felt like long time customers. He understood our needs and made the best suggestions. He also took a soft approach and offered various options. 2 weeks after our first visit we returned and again Adam greeted us and gave us his first class treatment. I was happy to share that I am really happy with the products I purchased on his suggestion and both my wife and I noticed improvements in my complexion. Today Adam helped with my wife's skin concerns and we left confident that we were guided in the right direction. So you know how we feel about Adam, 5 stars. As for the store, it has something for everyone. The selection and inventory are excellent and the collective knowledge is huge. I would not recommend this store location. Came in to buy a product, the woman at the register does not greet me upon coming up to the register. She proceeds to ignore me and speak to the girl next to her in an alternate conversation which came across as rude. She asks if I have an account, I said yes and gave her my phone number and she says, "nope, nothing comes up." I've shopped at Ulta for over a decade. So I asked if she wanted my email. She sighed and said, "Ok" as though I'm bothering her. Nothing comes up (apparently.) "Nope, nothing." She is being extremely unhelpful and rude. I'm positive I have an account, but allow her to proceed to ring me up. She didn't ask if I wanted to sign up - and every time I'm at a place like this they seem to do everything they can to sign people up for an account. So I ask her - "Can I sign up?" Again, she acts annoyed and has me write down my information and questions why I'm not giving an address. I said I move every year, I'm not providing one. She rolls her eyes. Long story short, I leave and look up my account outside online and yes I do have one. I go back in the store because I want the points, and the girl who helped me is on her way to clocking out. Ok, so this explains her attitude but as a person working in customer service, it doesn't make it right! She tries to tell the other cashier girl that she made me a new account. I told her that I have an account already and it's not "new." At this point, the original girl stops making eye contact with me. I said that I believe she put in my phone number incorrectly at the beginning of the interaction, which is why "nothing" came up. After 15 mins the manager was able to put the points on my account. To be frank, if the first girl hadn't been so rude, I would have let it go, but she did not display professionalism, kindness, or helpfulness, and that is not a way to treat a customer. She needs some training in customer service or needs to leave the job. I will not be returning to this store. Which is unfortunate as I was interested in the hair services in the back (that girl was actually very helpful) but I can't trust that I'll receive positive interactions, and I'd rather not risk it. Customer service was bad. I ended up throwing away the hair product I bought. The salesperson was not helpful at all.

Came in with 2 products in mind and left with more than anticipated. Ulta can be overwhelming just by the sheer amount of products they have. Seconds after walking in I forgot what I was there for and distracted by things I don't need. Service was friendly and I was asked by multiple employees throughout the store if I needed any help. Things were fairly well stocked and organized considering I came to visit a few days after Christmas. One suggestion would be to move back some of the end caps that are located right next to the checkout line because I was trying to look at the products located in that area and was constantly in someones way as they were either confused if I was in line or asking to pass me to access the line. When it came to checkout the employee that was helping me asked if I wanted to use my 300 pts, however, I wanted to know if/when they expired. She initially told me that she doesn't believe they expire but she asked another employee who showed her that they will be expiring on 31 Dec of this year. I think that all employees should let customers know how many pts they have at each checkout and warn them if they are expiring. read more

She got busy with something else & when it was time to wash out my products lots of my hair came out. Also my highlights were now gone as the root color completely covered them. She said my hair was falling out due to medication but I am not on medication. She said my hair grew out that's why my highlights were gone. But I walked in with all my hair & highlights. I have wanted to give this Ulta the benefit of the doubt for a while, because the store is beautiful and the location is great. However I have had nothing but bad experiences there. When you call the salon they almost never answer. My last cut and color was double booked and so they did kind of rush job on my hair, which did not turn out well. On top of all that though, I was extremely dissatisfied with their customer service recently. I had to return a couple products I had paid for with a credit card and a gift card. They issued the refund to the credit card as well as the gift card that I threw away because it was empty. Why would anyone send a refund to a card that no longer exists instead of issuing a different gift card!? When I told the cashier I had thrown it away, everyone from the manager and their corporate customer service basically said I was out of luck and there was nothing they could do. I live locally, came in to buy my wife a gift for Christmas. I'd like to preface that this was shortly after opening and the store was not very busy. The first of two people I interacted with, her name is Leilani.. this message is directly to this young lady and anyone in management directly responsible for her, after she yelled good morning at me halfway across the store followed me until she could verify what I had come in searching for. Part of me appreciated her help after the half ass greeting but then she disappeared, At which point I encountered a young man who was very helpful with assisting me with what I was so ignorant about that I came in search of. Somehow I ran in Leilani back at the checkout counter and I witnessed her be rude to an autistic man who came in looking for a gift for his sister, she was dismissive, didn't say thank you or make eye contact but was overly direct about how a sale is final unless we (because she was checking us both out simultaneously at two registers) gave her our phone numbers. Handed me my receipt without any eye contact or with a thank you. This young lady seems to have been trained in a manner where being efficient yet rude is a better approach at the retail service industry than the young man who was empathetic and helpful with the perfumes. i needed a haircut asap so i chose ulta since i've been there a few times.. let me just say the girl who cut my hair did not know what she was doing. I asked for a V cut and the girl totally botched my hair. I knew something wasn't right when she spent only about 20 mins actually cutting my hair and i have A LOT of hair. i was there for a total of an hour and that time included her washing my hair, cutting my hair, blow drying it, and straightening it. all in one hour. usually a hair cut is about 90 mins minimum for me. when we finished i thought it was fine i couldn't tell anything was wrong until i got home and fixed/parted my hair the way i normally do. it was super choppy and some hairs were way longer than others. i had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed!! i don't want to put the girl's name but it was one of the $40 priced stylists. i'm including the picture that the stylist who fixed my hair took to show messed up it really was. be careful choosing your stylists at ulta. read more

I got a crimping iron there, some makeup, hair spray, new brush, clips...some things I have never seen before. Today is the "soft opening" and I received 20% off! So I bought a new flat iron too! Is there a beauty product they don't have here? If you need ethnic hair products/for this hard to manage hair, there is a lack of them there. I need them. They only have high end ethnic hair products. I guess I will still have to go to Sally for those. I can't deduct a star for this though. There are hundreds and hundreds of hair products there, and I'm sure I could find something if I try hard enough through trail and error.
