I had a bad experience at this Ulta location that I feel needs to be shared. I drove 30 minutes out of my way to exchange a foundation I had purchased at a different Ulta, only to be told by Carrie, blonde, fake lashes-every time she blinked, I thought she was sending morse code, fair skin but orange foundation (who I was shocked to find out is a manager) that the system showed it had already been exchanged. I calmly tried to understand what the issue might be, especially since this was clearly a mistake from another location, but Carrie couldn't have cared less. Instead of taking a moment to listen or help problem-solve, she continued greeting other customers around me, asking if they needed help while I stood there clearly needing assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and borderline passive-aggressive. Telling me I couldn't return the item anywhere felt like a complete brush-off, with zero attempt at empathy or resolution. Thankfully, I drove to the original store where I bought it, and within a minute, they found the issue, corrected it, and were relaxed and kind about the situation (they also ended up having the foundation stick I was looking for which was a bonus). The difference was night and day. That is what good customer service looks like. Carrie, on the other hand, should not be managing people if she can't manage basic respect and human decency. Edit: I just looked through the reviews on Google, and I'm clearly not the first person to deal with this woman and her rude, passive-aggressive attitude. There are multiple complaints about her being unprofessional and downright unpleasant. Whoever owns this Ulta or whoever is responsible for managing her, really needs to reevaluate her position. You're losing customers because of her. The fact that she still works there, despite so many negative reviews, honestly makes no sense. read more

i would give zero stars if i could. one of the sales lady's came up to me when i was looking at moisturizer, and told me i looked "acne prone." now i wouldn't offended if i had asked. but i didnt. i was not looking for help nor did i ask for it and she freely gave her opinion about my acne scared skin. if i was insecure that would've ruined my day, since im not, i just see it as rude and inconsiderate. if i dont ask for your opinio, don give it read more

I got my eyebrows done by AMBER off North Maple in Ann Arbor. She does an amazing job and makes you feel comfortable while receiving services. I would recommend her to anyone who's new or regular to go for a visit. I always get exactly what I ask for with her and she walks you through all of the steps of what she's doing. read more

This worker was following me and my friend around the store which made us feel uncomfortable in their store. The cashier was very welcoming.

If I could give a 0 I would, I got my hair done today and to start I walked in there couldn't find anyone on the floor so I asked someone in the hair department for just someone to help me, she asked with what I say how I needed something for my pores and wondering if they sell toner. She insists doing my hair so I caved and said yes, she got done and I wasn't a fan she then points me in the direction of the manager Cary so I could get something for my pores. Cary was so rude and looks as if she's strung out on something. Whatever I get my stuff I'm heading to the front to pay the lady at the register god bless her soul helps me asks how I like my hair I told her I didn't like it was going to ask if she knew what I could do to get this blue toner out my hair. She said how the hair lady could fix it so I go back, she fixes it by adding more bleach. When I'm sitting in the chair with wet hair I'm just picking through my hair to look at it and it's falling out... did it look better yes was it breaking off also yes, so I said screw this imma just pay and go home and when I said something to CARY she looks at me like I'm crazy and goes "that's what happens when you bleach your hair" I've gotten my hair done so many times and this has never happened. I go to the Benefit Brow Bar to have my brows done and I get EXACTLY what I want every time! They're brow mapping technique is worth EVERY PENNY +TIP and Savannah is the sweetest cosmetologist on the planet. If you're picky, like I am, about your brows then this is money well spent! read more

This ULTA location does not stock the full benefit line - go to woodhaven if that is what you want.. Overall not a great location. Staff is often rude and unhelpful. They also aren't as knowledgeable seeming as other locations. read more

Refusal to accept CC statement as proof of purchase is the reason for this review. The original register receipt from Dec 19th was accidentally thrown away with Christmas trash. However purchase was made using a MasterCard charge card. The Southland, Taylor Mi location refused to view or accept the CC statement as proof of purchase instead offering an $8.00 refund/exchange on a $149.00 purchase as that is what the lowest price of the that item sold for in the last 60 days (Store Policy that was repeated several times). The person that purchased the item after me used EARNED points from DOLLARS they spent with Ulta and only spent $8.00 out of pocket so that affects my refund as I do not have the original printed register receipt. Customer Service was also not able to assist as they do not have a service line that handles in-store purchases and all store returns must be handled by the store. I do whole heartily admit that I became very upset and used bad language for a lady but only after no decent resolution could be come to that visit (A CC statement is proof of purchase). I apologized to all in the store (no one was threatened). In filing a charge back with my CC company that I just found out that I won I will be gladly taking my purchase back to Ulta Southland never to shop there or any Ulta again. Every single time I've entered this store I have trouble finding someone to help me find what I need while in the drugstore section. I often have to hunt down employees just to get answers to my questions. It's quite obvious to me that this store is extremely understaffed, this is evident by the constant lack of help, long lines as well as the opened and under stocked makeup. I don't blame the employees for the condition of the store because I'm sure it is quite literally impossible for the few employees on shift at one time to keep up with the disorganization. The store is consistently out of products I need and take an excessively long time to restock. Opened and broken makeup is failed to be pulled off of the shelves and many times is left messy and disgusting. Upper management needs to do better. Hire more staff, order more product at one time of your popular drugstore items, clean your store and your shelves better and stop treating the luxury isles like the only priority. I buy luxury and drugstore products constantly and I'm tired of only having attentiveness while on the luxury end.
