I wanted to write a review today because I had a pleasant visit unlike a few of the other times I've been to this Ulta, which is why I'm only giving 3 stars. I came in today to purchase a bottle of foundation that I've been using for a while, though it may be time to do a color match again since I've tanned a bit this summer. I mention this because the last time I was in this store, I asked for help with a color match and got an eye roll; after about 15 minutes waiting with no one actually coming to help me I left that time. I mention this because I am not the prettiest woman for sure, and I don't wear a whole lot of makeup so I have felt intimidated and sometimes unwelcome by the staff. Today was different in that a very nice (and intimidatingly pretty) woman came up to me as she saw me searching the shelf and asked if I needed help. I mentioned my issue of not being able to find my foundation shade on my previous two visits, and she was beyond helpful- she looked, and when she also didn't find it, she offered to have it ordered and shipped to my house, and went further to offer to grab me a sample of the foundation so I would have some in the time it took to arrive. As someone who also works in a customer service job, that's what I call going above and beyond for a customer. read more

The store is nice and the customer service is good. But I think they need to pay more attention to their restroom. The Women's restroom had a large roll of toilet paper sitting on top of the dispenser, the toilet sit was broken, the faucet was al broken, and the paper towel roll was just placed on the sink counter and the bottom of the roll was wet. I gave this location a THIRD chance the other day when it was more convenient than Sephora... NEVER again. I asked the girl if she could show me an angled eyeliner brush, to which she pointed at the display a few feet away. and went back to talking to her coworkers who were doing a makeover on someone. Since she was not doing the makeover I asked her, "Excuse me, is there any others besides this one?" To which she pointed ALL THE WAY across the store and said---" YOU can look over there, there might be some!" and snottily turned around AGAIN to watch the makeover. SERIOUSLY!!!!!-- I began walking over "there" and when my path crossed with the door, I tossed all of the things I was going to buy, DOWN, and WALKED OUT! 10 min, later walked in Sephora, without explaining ANYTHING about what had just happened, the girl SMILED, ((There's an idea)) Asked, "Can I help you find anything today?" I love this Ulta location and prefer it over the others who lack customer service skills. I always am greeted when I walk through the doors. Employees come around and ask if I need any help and even offer to grab me a bag. I typically shop the sales and use coupons as needed. A lot of the stuff sold here is the same price or cheaper than its competitors. The bonus side is that once you become a platinum member the coopuns and extras are greater. The salon is very friendly. I am always skeptical when someone new cuts my hair. I took advantage of Ulta's October haircut special. I was skeptical when they informed me that only a Level 1 or Level 2 hair stylist could cut my hair for the special. The levels go by the number of years a person has worked at Ulta. I was scheduled with Sam. He was very nice and made sure I was satisfied with my cut and style before leaving. For the 1st time ever I am truly amazed with my new hairstyle. I always wear my hair up but, since Sam cut/styled my hair I wear it down now. Truly impressed!!!!! Also, he is the 1st guy to ever cut my hair! read more

I used to get my hair cut at Beauty Brands with Angelica, and I LOVED how my hair came out every time. But the Beauty Brands store recently shut down. There is an Ulta by my work, so I made a hair appointment at the Salon with Jessica? I think her name was. She was very friendly, had great customer service, finished the hair wash, cut, and style quickly. I didn't do a NEW hair style at all, just asked for a couple inches trimmed off so I can be at the shorter length that I like. At the end of the appointment she offered to curl my hair to make it look beachy, which I thought nothing of at the time. It felt a little shorter than I desired, but I thought- it's hair and it will grow back, not the end of the world. But the next day when I straightened my hair, I noticed that it looked really choppy. I thought maybe she parted it different when she cut it, but no matter where I part my hair it looks so bad! It's embarrassing! I have to wear my hair tucked behind my ear until it finally grows out. Needless to say I will be cancelling my next hair appointment that I made with her in April, and will be going elsewhere. Seriously not worth the $50 that I spent on that hair cut, I could've got this hair cut at a great clips somewhere for $10.... I know $50 isn't that expensive, but I would expect to be a lot happier... On the up side, I also got my brows waxed at the brow bar by Angelique. She did an amazing job!! I love ulta because there's a wide range of products and services and the employees are nice. Unfortunately that was not the case here. It seems they're going through some sort of re-modeling and everything is scattered. There were empty shelves and products without prices. No one would approach me to ask if I needed help. I had to go up to someone working behind one of the counters and she looked me up and down. It was Sunday evening and I just wanted one product that I wanted their opinion on. Instead of then helping me find that product she pointed in a general direction and said "check there". I'm not sure if their demeanor was a result of it being Sunday evening, but they were more than hospitable to other customers that were dressed nicer. My money is just as green as theirs. It is safe to say I will not be coming back here. I wish I could say otherwise. read more

It's like a candy store for women who love beauty products! This place has grown on me and now every time I come I just get happy!! Mind you I'm not a big fan of product...at least not a LOT of it. But when I'm at a loss as to what to do with what, the staff here usually can help me and seem fairly knowledgeable. I like the fact that you can get both low end and high end items all in one location and when talking to the staff, they don't necessarily send you to the $25 product when they know the $3 one will work just as well. I bring my daughter here to get her eyebrows waxed. That can sometimes be hit or miss depending on who is doing it, but they're always very friendly. You can get a free shape on your birthday!! One last bit of info, their rewards program is great. I've received multiple subscriptions to some great magazines for free as well as significant discounts and free product. Sign up! If I could give this place negative stars, I would. As far as the particular store and the ULTA chain are concerned, they do have great variety ... a good mix of high and lower end ... although it is somewhat overpriced and I'm too lazy to deal with their point system customer card thing. The customer service, however, at this store, is a nightmare. I was surprised by the other review that mentioned that customers are approached so often that it can be irritating. Because I would have been thrilled to have been approached. Even once. Just once. Pretty please? As far as I can tell, the staff spends most of their time draped across the counters regaling one other with "OH MY GOD, Becky ... "-esque gossip (and woe to the person who interrupts and is on the receiving end of one of their withering looks), or avoiding who I can only assume is the manager, who constantly berates them in front of the customers. I love Ulta because I can get the makeup I want without setting foot inside of the mall. This Ulta especially is super easy to park at. Ulta is also the only place that sells my favorite face wash, the Queen Helene Oatmeal'n Honey face scrub. It's not pricey but nobody else seems to sell it. The few times I've asked for help the employees have been really nice and directed me to the type of product I was looking for. Basically Ulta is clean, organized and convenient. read more

I have seen everything here from men breaking out in a fight to no toilet paper at all in the bathroom to sales associate saying they are out of a product when its on a display across from them. We found the staff and management to be rather snooty and unhelpful. We were returning from the lake and had on lake clothes--apparently, the fact that you arrive on a Monday afternoon (labor day weekend) and stop to pick up a few items is lost on them. Granted, I had on baggy swim trunks and a tank top--but we still spent 150.00 bucks which I would think is higher than their average ticket. read more

EGH! What can I say I have never been happy at this location whether it be customer service and now to add to it the hair salon. Shopping there is horrible and I have already written the company several times regarding my experiences. I find that no one is ever available to assist and when they do shade match a foundation for example they totally are off guard when it comes to the shade match. Let's talk about the salon! I came in here Saturday and had the best experience possible. I was looking for a foundation and an eyebrow product. They weren't carrying the foundation, but I was able to get the brow pencil. One of the girls working in the prestige section asked if I needed help almost as soon as I stepped in the door. She helped me get the right shade and put it on my brows so I could see how it would end up looking. I had previously tried to get help with that at Sephora but it seems like they are constantly busy and there is never anyone available to help. Overall, this location is great. I enjoy shopping here it makes it much easier to find things then shopping at a grocery store. I also like that they have samples of shampoo products that you can purchase to see if that is the right one for you. The skincare staff know what products to suggest if you have a particular question. They also have a great rewards program that lets you save on some of your purchases. read more

Went there in early evening and found what I wanted. They also, now, have people walking around asking if you need help...that's good. However, I left my products on the counter and walked out after standing on line for about 12 minutes; the line NEVER moved. I was probably the 10th person to be waited on next. It was so long, it formed an L shape from the first cashier, almost down to the end of the aisle over. There were 2 cashiers working. What a poorly managed store; did it ever occur to them to bring up more cashiers? Are the cashiers actually 'trained' to move so slowly? I usually am not in a hurry but tonight I was. I've had bad experiences here before and should have known better. The first time I tried this salon I loved how my hair looked. Sam had done a GREAT job. The second time I went and was set up with Alex because unfortunately Sam left...they charged me $125 and basically just made my roots darker and hardly did anything else to my hair. I had a photo for reference and essentially walked out with the same hair I walked in with. I spoke to the "acting manager" and they wouldn't refund me. I told them I did NOT want anyone at their salon to touch my hair again because I was about to travel and did not have time to fix it before I left for Christmas vacation. I just wanted my money back. They refused and instead offered for someone to fix it. I didn't have time and honestly did not want anyone there to touch my hair again. I contacted their customer service and expressed my situation, I just wanted my money for the color back, then they stopped responding. I'm going to provide before and after photos as well as the photo I had for reference. I'll never step foot in this wretched store again. The people in this store have always been off putting and unhelpful and ignore the customers to talk about personal issues. There's been times where I was in store looking for something, for half an hour, and no sales associate greeting me or asking if I need assistance. So yeah, I'll take my money elsewhere from here on out. For the most part I can find what I'm looking for, so in that sense the place is good. However, the staff needs a refresher course on how to be social and not snobby. If I have to say hello first and flag someone down just for a simple question, then there's something wrong here. When I finally did flag an employee down, my question on a product seemed like such a burden for them. I wandered in here today in search of some oil for my expanding, pregnant tummy. I asked a woman who worked there if they had anything and she grabbed a few she thought I might like. Based on a review from another employee there she said to stay away from a specific brand. We got talking about my pregnancy and she was so friendly and courteous! Many people act interested, but she was sincerely happy for me and we even talked baby names. She didn't ring me up, but she was at the register next door. I often come to this Ulta. The location is nice and convenient. Ulta has a variety of very good products, With a range of prices suited to many. Usually when I go into Ulta, I am very satisfied as I am a die hard rewards member, avid bargain hunter and like to occasionally splurge on a high-end beauty product or two. The past few times I have gone in I have noticed some things that affect my rating. 1) The Benefit Bar: This is a wonderful idea and selling tactic for the brand but at this local, it looks unkempt. The products (testers) look as if they have been out too long and not sanitized (I wouldn't DARE even swatch them). The artists who are Benefit trained to do waxing, etc, don't seem to keep a very good schedule as I have seen lines of people waiting for their appointments on numerous occasions. I have also seen these employee's neglecting customers as they chat and test out products themselves. I like some of Benefit's products, but this turns me off from trying anything else. 2) A few of the newer associates at the register are not too personable. There is no connection between associate and customer when I've come up to purchase. No general "How was your visit?" or "Did you find what you were looking for?" from many of the ladies. I understand that people have bad days, but some seem to have a bad day, every day. 3) I feel as though some of the associates do not know their stock. I have come in asking for specific products and have received blank stares. I have considered applying to work for Ulta as I love Makeup and it's a huge part of my job as a performer. It is amazing to me that those who are already employed are not up to date on latest trends or current releases. I will still shop at this Ulta because of it being so close and because of the rewards program (it's a lot better than Sephora), but I feel that some changes do need to be made. read more

Honestly love the employees here most the time really nice, but I was in the store for like 20 minutes MAYBE today just getting a couple things and I had like 6 employees come up to me. I understand making sure everyone is getting the attention they need but literally 6 times! Some people just want to shop. Kind of made me feel like I was being targeted too or just watched and it made me super uncomfortable. So yeah for the most part employees are lovely and nice but chill out just a little bit.
