To start, I have very fine, thin curly blonde hair. It is very hard to find someone that can cut and style my hair without a malfunction. I called and spoke with the store manager, Felicia. It was prior to the store opening at 10, however she answered the phone (bonus points). I was also looking for Sun Bum sunscreen for an upcoming vacation. She pulled all the products for me and had them waiting for me to pick up. In regards to the haircut, she advised me to call back and speak with a stylist. I called back and spoke with Lauren, she said she could cut curly hair so I went with it. So glad I did. She did a great job of working with my curls. Thanks so much gals!!!! This Ulta is a cut above the others. One of my go to Ulta's. Worth the drive. Their customer service is definitely on point here. The store is well kept and well stocked for the most part. Rarely do I find something I really want out of stock. The staff is very helpful. I had a vendor from Bliss approach me and really help me out. She was so kind. Another associate held some merchandise at the register for me. Bought the Tartellete palette from here recently and I am in love! I don't like how I was charged $ 0.01 for a "free" sample but oh well. They are cool with the coupons. read more

I visited the Ulta Salon and after reading a bad review felt a bit skeptical. Miriam went over my hair goals with me and she explained what the possible outcome would be. She recommended highlights to help achieve my goal. The entire time continually communicated with me what she was doing and what the next step would be. She gave me some great advice to help re-nourish my hair since it was dry from previous processing treatments. I had a great experience with her and absolutely love my hair. Rarely have I had the displeasure of dealing with an entire staff that has the same bad attitude. They are selling opened damaged make-up at full price because "someone will buy it." I hope no one would ever have such a lack of respect for themselves as to buy damaged goods at a non-damged price. I would never go here if they weren't literally the only supplier of CK lipstick and after this I'll never go to this store again. They had a "free gift with purchase." Not only did all the people at the register have no idea but they couldn't find it then tried to say they must of run out. When I stated they should take down the three or four signs over there then she responded with they probably just ran out. Really? None of them had a clue about it five seconds ago but you just ran out? This store is full of rude snobs that care nothing for customer service. This is my first ever Yelp review so bare with me. I paid a visit to this location earlier today to pick up the Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara since it was on sale for $10. When the cashier rung me up, she was nothing but R-U-D-E. Her name was MARIA and she had purple hair with purple eyebrows. I don't like how supposedly we the customers have to inform the cashier that we want to redeem our points. How are we supposed to know we have points?! Is this Ulta's way of ripping us off? That's why I stick to going to Sephora. Their workers there are much more helpful, kind, nice, welcoming, and friendly. I also like how Sephora (favorite makeup store) is willing to help their customers. Their customer service is superb. Anyways, back to my dilemma. So I paid the cashier $10.80, therefore I brought to her attention that I wanted the $3 off since I had points in my account and she was unwilling to accommodate that for me. She told me I should've told her earlier, hence, she said it with attitude and sass so afterwards I went to the Ulta at Victoria Gardens. If I didn't receive horrible customer service, I would not be making this review, although I want everyone to know not to come to this location. It sucks big time. I'm not much of an Ulta shopper, but I received a gift from Ulta for Christmas, and ended up in this store with a return. The item was a make-up carrier, a large caboodle like trunk. After a long day at work I decided to stop by, and attempt to return the case, with it's ORIGINAL receipt. The cashier refused to return the item, as I did not have the "original" card it was purchased with (which by the way was a debit card, not a credit card). I asked her why that was, she stated it was policy. (So let me get this straight. When I enter the PIN number of my debit card, your company automatically withdrawals the needed funds. And now you won't give it back in cash?) With 9 years in retail, I thought surely I must have read the return policy on the back of receipt. So again, I read. The policy states nothing about needing the original card for returns, in fact it states, "Returns are easy!" So I asked to speak with a manager.... A very rude, chauvinistic manager. The manager again refused to return the item for me. I explained to the manager that someone with good customer service would take care of a customer when they are in such a predicament, when policy is not properly outlined for the customer. He refused. I asked him for the corporate number which he was pleased to provide, still refusing to assist me. Guess he did not think a 25 year old female with a masters degree would notify his corporate office, who still could not give provide me with information about where that specific policy is printed. So nonetheless, my fiancé and I made ANOTHER trip to Ulta, with his debit card (the original card used). Handed the woman the original receipt and item, she handed me cash in return. Shout out to Gil/Gilbert???, with the worst customer service ever. Learn to treat customers with respect. You work for a corporation, and you are a horrible representation of that company. Not impressed by this group, for the past month I've gotten different and sometimes conflicting information from each employee I've talked to about the event. Ive called to clarify appt times several times and still had someone call yesterday and confirm an appt for the wrong time today. I have been going to Ulta in Upland to get my hair cut for over two years. I have had 7 different stylists during that time and not by choice. They keep leaving! However 6 of the 7 were really good and knew what they were doing, so I put up with getting new stylists even though it took several cuts for them to know how my hair responds. Then came number 7! She was terrible! She acted confused when I told her what I wanted and at first I though I wasn't communicating well. I asked for 1/2" off and to try to change the layering in the back. In the end, she cut my hair super short and the sides weren't even. Anyone could see it. Also the layers didn't blend at all. As she was cutting my hair she kept talking to herself like "OK, if I cut this way it should do this." It was like she was trying to remember beauty school. I should have just walked out then. When I told her it was too short, she said, "Well, that's what you asked for." She was not at all professional. Her name is Kristine E. I normally don't give names, but no should be put through what I experienced. I did get an appointment the next day ( I couldn't go out in public for 24 hours) from the salon manager to try to fix it. He was very nice and apologetic. He did a good job, but the damage was done. It will take months before the crooked side will grow out so it can be completely even. He blended my layers as much as possible without making it even shorter. I can't express how frustrated and disappointed I am. I never expected this from Ulta. read more

This place is just OK, all the cosmetic girls are really helpful and are always willing to find me a new color but when I check out it takes me 20 minutes. There was one person in front of me and she only had a few items and it took the receptionist 20 minutes to check her out. they really need to work on a new system because this happens every time that I go to this ulta. read more

This Ulta location has the WORST customer service ever. Today there were three people in line, one cashier and FIVE other ladies flitting around. They should have opened another register immediately. This is a CONSTANT problem there. The lady n front of me said the exact same thing. How RUDE. I will either order online or drive to Rancho from now on. Went to this location for "Promotional Discount" at The Salon to have color and haircut. I had been there once before and charged $65.00. Yet, when I asked the stylist the cost of highlights she told me there was an additional $20.00 (another promotion) added to the already $85.00. Plus 20% off total bill. I agreed to this price! The bill totaled $210.00!!! When I questioned the bill she had no reasonable answers. I asked for the manager, he tried to explain the bill and cover her mistakes! Terrible service and rude people at this location. I was testing some makeup and was having a hard time finding a mirror so I pulled my own compact out of my purse to use the mirror. A sales girl approached me and told me I wasn't allowed to open the products, pointing to my compact. When I explained to her that it was my own compact, she looked annoyed and walked away without even an apology, as though she was unhappy that she'd been wrong. When I complained to a woman at the register, I was offered an insincere apology and was told that there had been a lot of theft at the store recently, almost excusing the young girl's mistake. I can understand someone getting confused and thinking my personal product may have belonged to the store, but since it didn't, I expected an apology over the error. All the girl had to do was say, "Oh, sorry about that" and smile. And if they're having problems with theft, they need to stick some security devices on their stuff instead of trying to police the innocent customers. I was there to buy a $40 bottle of makeup, some shampoo and facial masks but got so mad about the incident that I walked out without buying one freakin' thing! I will never go back to this store. Too bad because I was going to make this my new beauty supply. Now I will just warn others about their poor service. I drove over to Sephora the same day and was treated way better! Today I went to ulta in search of philosophy hope in a tube and a face primer. Store was bright clean and spacious. Walked towards the side and was greeted by a male employee. He automatically asked what he could help me find. He showed me benefit concealer products did some tests and it was nice. I then said Iv heard great things about 24 hr Lancôme foundation and wanna try it. He admitted to not being so strong in color match and that he would have the Lancôme lady help me when she was done with her customer! Perfect! Not- when he informed her that I would need help when she was done she replied I'm busy right now, he said when ur done with your client she can't wait she's not in a hurry (I wasn't, Iv been in the store for over 30 min already). She then relief to him well why can't u? He looked like he was in shock that this Lancôme lady wouldn't help me.. At Thai point I look at both and say that's ok I'm just gonna go to my Sephora or ulta in Rancho and make the purchase there.. Oh and I'll hold off on the 3 benefit products in my hand. The foundation is almost $50 a bottle the primer is the same and the benefit products are 15-25 each.. Guess my money wasn't good enough to spend here.. read more

I love this place! It's a one-stop shop for those of us who don't like going to the mall and dealing with crazy parking (and people). Like most, I went in for ONE item and walked out with hundreds of dollars in makeup and skin. The girl who works at the Lancôme station, Gennavee, is the best at colour-matching foundation and powder as well as recommending mascara that is best for my lashes (not all lashes or mascaras are created equal) so I bought a primer, mascara, and eyeshadow base. I'm a loyal Clinique Skincare user so when I walked over to Clinique, the two young gals in their coats greeted me with a smile and even though I was only browsing, let me know they were there for me if I had any questions. Some people either keep insisting to the point of annoying you or get mad when you say you'd just like to browse. These girls are legit. I ended up replenishing some skin items as well as their new brow mascara and palette. The guy who greeted me in the fragrance area, Bryan, told me he works at the brow area so I made an appointment next week (I'm growing my brows out). Checkout was a little slow but that's only because it seemed like people didn't know how to use their chip cards. Overall, everyone was very friendly and helpful. No one seemed pushy just knowledgable and understanding. I will definitely go back after I recover from this trip lol! read more
