Horrible customer service but I like the fact that there are so many products to choose from in one place.

I didn't get the sale exactly for buy one and get 2nd 50% off. Very misleading tag by the cosmetics. Is it my fault I didnt question the prices and end up paying too much for an unknown brand never heard of except stocked by this store. Btw, I didn't ask to sign up for the membership since I don't know how the experience would turn out but they ask me for my information anyway. As a makeup and haircare hoarder, I missed my Ulta when I moved to the Deep Valley. I was super psyched to hear they were opening one in Visalia, but was weary because staff in chain stores can range from wonderful to shotable. This store is a shiny example that all other Ulta stores should model themselves after when it comes to staff. For my forth visit I came in looking for a Paul Mitchell's Hot Off the Press but couldn't find it on the shelf . I asked a staff member and they asked their manager if they had it in the back and when they couldn't find it they called the Hanford store, which wasn't answering. They called back and had the same result. Initially I was bummed and it showed, so the staff members brainstormed where I might locate this product. I was impressed by the professionalism and honesty towards the situation. Even though they didn't have the product, they didn't want me to leave the store unhappy. I found the product at a location suggested a dollar cheaper, but I was so bowled over by the quality of service I will go to Ulta first because they know how to treat customers. This is also the tidiest Ulta location I've been to. I know it's fairly new, but the Hanford location was labeled as "ratchet" by both me and my teenage shopping companion, with lots of misplaced items and dust balls rolling and lots of out of stock items missinf. I love how well stocked the Visalia location is most of the time, even more popular items are available for purchase. The higher end makeup's testers didn't look nasty. I also loved how the cashier didn't fumble over my in store coupons. I hope that this store maintains this caliber of quality. I will be returning to this store and putting the word out to all of my gorgeous home girls . read more

I had my hair highlighted here a couple months ago and was expecting highlights,they weaved my hair doing their way of highlights but you couldn't tell it was highlighted and not at all what I wanted. After 6 hours of having my hair highlighted they then asked for a tiptip pretty rude. I will not be getting my hair done there again. I went elsewhere and had it done correctly and it now looks amazing thanks to a talented hair dresser not from ULTA. read more

Love this Ulta but don't ever GET YOUR MAKEUP done at Mac had such a freaking horrible experience! Set up an appointment to get makeup done for a wedding and these girls tried to make me feel bad about my own skin the makeup was coming out freaking horrible won't not recommend to anyone. read more

The rudest customer service experience ever! !!!!!! Went to Ulta today,excited to get some new goodies... but was once again left with a bad taste in my mouth!! Should of known!! Ugh!! This is review is for the salon. I cannot express how much I absolutely love coming here to get my hair cut. Amanda is amazing. After having bad experiences with hair stylists I was reluctant with coming here, but I came and have been coming back ever sense. They always know what you want. They not only cut your hair but try to customize according to your hair type and what you need. They are very friendly and understanding. As far as the pricing goes, it is worth every penny and then some. read more

Great products, place seems clean. However, every Ulta I've ever been in, including this one, has horrible customer service. My second visit into this location, I was ignored by the staff the entire time I was there. I ran back and forth between the NYX aisle and the designer makeup several times trying to find a color I was looking for, and not once did anyone bother to help me, so I left without purchasing anything. I was not greeted upon arrival either. The first visit wasn't a whole lot different. There was one lady that was nice and helped us with some hair products, but only after we asked her. read more

Yesterday while in Visalia I went to return a set of shampoo and conditioner that gave me dandruff, I had purchased on 01/20/18 which was not over the 60 day return with receipt policy but the manager refused to honor the return policy that if you are not completely satisfied you can return it for a full refund the manager which refused stated the product was over the 10% used policy which I had never heard or could find in the Ulta policy online . I even took the time to explain to her and the cashier the product was being used by myself and daughter the shampoo being a lil over half the bottle and the conditioner being probably the 10% used. I left with out being able to return both products as she just wanted to refund me for the conditioner. Did let her know I would go to my own town Porterville which I had never had any issues will never go in the Visalia Ulta again thought It would be a good idea since I had gone to eat at BWW that night and had been carrying the bag to return it for a couple of days. Night Manager in Visalia on 02/26/18 is horrible poor customer service made me feel as though I was wanting a refund for a product that was fully used to 100%!! Went to porterville today no questions asked with my receipt full refund and in and out in about 5 minutes! Always great customer service and staff willing to go over and beyond for their customers!!! read more

Since I work in retail it's hard to make an appointment two weeks in advance and I'm always skeptical on going to salons or spas that do brow waxing. I was happy that there was an opening for my niece and I. She was sweet and did a great job when I'm back in town and need my brows done I'll be seeing her again! read more

The people who work here a horrible! I will never shop here! I needed assistance with several things every single associate completely ignored me. Monkeys at the zoo would have been more helpful and polite. The girls who work here do not care about helping customers and cannot be bothered to do their job. One sales associate rudely pushed by me but couldn't say excuse me or even sorry when she bumped into me. There were probably 12-15 people in line and only one person at the register. This is not the first disappointing encounter I've had here, this is the first review I've written. I'll stay with sephora. I only went here because I wanted to use a gift card. If I could give - I would but 1 star is the lowest I can give. This location needs a total shake up and employee overhaul. read more

I don't shop here very often I can count on one hand how many times I have been in this store and every time I get the same treatment usually ignored. But today when I tried to return two $20 gift cards that I purchased less then 24 hours ago because we were unable to attend the b day party they were for due to car trouble and had to pay to get towed back home so wanted the money put back on my credit card to help pay for the tow, but was told no by two associates in store and after calling corporate twice and being told the same thing, still makes no since they say returns are easy on their receipt but apparently not. They say it's their policy yet it does not state that anywhere I have read. So goodbye ulta I will continue to take my business elsewhere read more

The store itself was fine. It was just like any other Ulta stores. However, I wasn't too crazy about the customer service at this particular location. When I asked for a sample of foundation, the SA lady rudely said "We don't give out samples. That's why we have testers" and walked away. If that's their policy, I'm okay with it but she could've said it in a nicer way. read more

While I was at Ulta in Visalia, Ca. I was the next customer in line. When the cashier got done helping lady in front of me. I walked up towards the cash register she told me one sec she answered the phone. So i stayed looking at nail polish on clearance. The other cashier finished with her customer while the other lady was still on the phone . Said she could help the next in line. There was only one line so i went. The lady behind me went at the same time. I informed her I was next in line. The lady apologized we were both embarrassed because she thought i was waiting for the cashier on the phone. The cashier Assistance Manager (Grace or Gracie i think not exactly sure) didn't apologize to me about the mix up or let her know i was next in line so i wouldn't have had to tell her i was. It was extremely embarrassing. To make it worst while i am still being helped she tell her to wait. Finishes up my return. I go back to shopping. I overhear her apologing to her like I had did something wrong and give her a free gift. I was so humiliated. I have been shopping frequently at Ulta to earn my points. But i will be returning back to Sephora to earn my beauty points over there. Because never in my life i have i experienced something so rude and humiliating. It really took the pleasure that I get from a beauty store out of my shopping experience. I wish this wouldn't happend as i loved store. I hope your company can use my experience as a teaching tool to improve customer service which is number one the beauty industry because no one "needs" beauty we want it. I usually go to sephora but decided to give ulta a try. Girl with short brownish black hair, I think Kristen or christy might have been her name, treated me so rudely while I spent close to $150. She followed my literally a foot behind, in my space as if I was going to steal. I told her I didn't need help after sending her to get stuff just to get her out of my personal space. After I told her I didn't need anymore help she continued to follow me so close pretending to stock things wherever I went. Staff needs better theft prevention training and customer service, another girl attempted to help me and she was as kind as can be(small girl with med length brown straight hair) I wish I had let her help me so she could get commission and not the other girl. Every time I've come here I'm always greeted with a friendly hello from the cashiers! And while I'm shopping I've always had an employee come up to me numerous times with a smile and ask if I need help finding anything and to let them know if I need help! Whether I'm all done up or in my sweats I'm always given great customer service!
