It is now over eighteen months since we started coming here. We have found Sean and his family run business to be great! I wrote my previous review after waiting six months following a very bad series of incidents at another cleaner -- which has a chain here in AZ. At this other place, the pockets on my dress shirts started ripping at the inside corners from rough ironing. The kids who work there weren't of any help to us. Finally the absentee owner finally got involved and gave us a credit on future business for the damage. Okay, so much for the history of how we came to Ultra. NEVER again will we go to a chain. Family run businesses care much more about getting it right and pleasing the customer. Mr. Sean, as we call him and his family have been great to us. We've used all the services, from comforters, to alterations, dress shirts, suits, you name it. I'll say it a third time, they're great! I love Ultra Cleaners for many reasons, next day service, convenient hours and easy drop-off of our cleaning. It's especially nice when you drive up and by the time you walk in the door they have our clothes ready to take away. It's great to be remembered! Buyer beware!!!! When your clothes turn out fine, this place is great. If not, it will be your worst nightmare. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went in there to talk to someone about my husband's expensive shirt they shrunk. I thought they might offer a solution, a credit or something. The first woman listened to my story but kinda rolled her eyes before she had the manager take over. The manager/owner did nothing to appease me. Basically he said it happens and If I wasn't happy to go elsewhere as he proceeded to point to all the hanging shirts. In other words, he didn't need my business. It ended up in a screaming match because I couldn't believe what he said. Miserable, miserable man. Warning: don't bring your clothes ever again. read more

I've been going to Ultra for seven months now and they never seem to disappoint. I typically give them about 10 button down shirts every time and I always get back pristinely cleaned and pressed shirts! Not only is the service great, the prices are out of this world (especially for North Scottsdale) inexpensive! I take my husbands clothes here for dry cleaning and the staff is always super polite and efficient. They have a pull up service which is super convenient and a reusable dry cleaning bag with your name and ID on it. Don't waste the money at Prestige cleaners. Ultra Cleaners does a fantastic job for a fraction of the price. read more

I think this place is way overpriced for what they are willing to provide with service and customer experience. I've been in debates with the individuals who work there over things such as stains, etc. The price point does not match the level of work, I have had to leave multiple items more than once because stains were not treated or followed up effectively. If you know there is a stain on an item, and you treat it (once, twice, etc.) and it does not come out, maybe you should be proactive and point it out to the customer and discuss options (e.g., additional treatments, refund, partial refund)--instead of charging me and hoping I don't see what was left behind. This location is extremely close to my house, but I will be going out of my way to not use it. Unfortunate. read more

Maybe it's my fault for returning to this business - my last dry cleaning service there turned all white garments dark, gray & dingey, stripped of their finish or sheen. I thought I would ask them to cold wash and press my white items this time to avoid dry cleaning damage. The girl checking me in said they would, yet when I picked up my latest order, the whites (and garments with white on them) were ruined and the man checking me out said they had not been washed, but, in fact, dry cleaned (despite my request). (The owner later explained that they HAD been washed, but with other colors and this happens / they cannot guarantee.) Yet I had to argue with the man behind the counter in front of other customers just to avoid paying for the ruined garments. Of course I won't pay for ruined garments - it will cost me hundreds to replace them. Last time I brought a $300 white jacket here, they ruined it (and I had only worn it twice.) Bottom line: The girl who works the counter during the week is very sweet, and they mean well, but there seems to be *no way to avoid having all or partially white garments ruined, no matter the fabric, no matter if they wash or dry clean them, due to the bulk of other items all being cleaned together*. They flat out said as much. Keep using them if you like the service but definitely clean valuable white garments at home! Though to have to argue to avoid being charged to clean high value items that have been damaged still seems inappropriate. read more

Most experiences were fine, with the exception that they seemed a little inconsistent in their pricing. This was confirmed a few months ago when I dropped off a blue dress. My friend picked up the blue dress to borrow, wore it, returned it to be cleaned again. Pricing was an additional $5.00 the second time, for the exact same dress, no stains, nothing out of the ordinary. I showed the cashier my receipt from dropping off the dress the week before. No budge. Not even an effort to explain the pricing difference or an offer to honor the price. He just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know why the price was different. Great place! Always clean and on time. Here's where it counts: I thought they lost my wife's pants. They searched high and lo and after a couple days they found them. Turns out I dropped them off in a bag with my company contact information. So they did not have my phone tied to them. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend using them. read more

Never going back! They are unhelpful, rude and unable to follow directions. My bag clearly states boxed; however, they keep giving me my shirts on hangers. Then, they tell me that they are not charging me for boxed shirts....really? I need them boxed for travel, and they better not charge me for something they didn't give me. Also, they lost a shirt of mine, but because there policy is to drop off shirts in a bag and not give a receipt, I have no way of proving it. However, I did count my shirts before I dropped off, so I knew I was short one. They are awful! Find another cleaners!!!!! read more

What a joke. The price to dry clean one men's wool suit was $23?! Way more than they told me on phone. Maybe it was because I brought in their 50% off coupon? Regular price across the street is $14. Don't know the quality of their work but it won't matter with those prices. Too many other options. read more

Pricing is good. Not sure if duvets fall into the the same category as "comforter" but it's double the advertised price but the job was done well. No disappointment with any of my items so I am pleased and continue to go there weekly. read more

Terrible! I saw the sign for "50% OFF ALL DRYCLEANING" so I thought I give this place a try. I paid $9.27 for two pairs of trousers for dry cleaning. When I picked them up a few days later I just took them home without inspecting them - I thought they would do their own QC! I put on one pair the next morning and saw that the stain for which I had brought in the trousers was still there. It appeared that the trousers had been pressed but not dry cleaned. I took them back in the very next morning. The man at the counter (apparently the owner) gave no apology, no explanation or comment. I actually had to ask him if he was going to offer any apology or not! I guess customer inconvenience and poor quality service are just standard operating procedure at this establishment. They were finally cleaned and I inspected them on premises myself. Again, no comment, apology or explanation from the "owner". Needless to say, I won't give this place any more of my business. read more

I have been taking my cleaning once per week over ten years to this place ($15.00 to $30.00 per week). They are nice until something goes wrong and then they become complete jerks. I went in one day to pick up my cleaning and noticed a shirt in my order that was not mine which meant that one of my shirts was missing from the order. At first they were nice and said they could get it back with no problem, Over a few weeks I would go and check to see if they found it and they would always tell me it was not there yet. I finally had enough of their attitude. They lost my shirt not me, and they never apologized or even cared. I finally had enough and went off because my patience had been pushed to a breaking point because they were so rude about something that they did. One time when I went to check on the shirt and the manager was speaking Spanish to another customer about my situation. I too speak Spanish and understood everything she said. Again they lost it not me. They are rude and are not helpful at all if something goes wrong. I still do not have my shirt and I paid them to clean it. Adios!!!! read more

i've been taking my husband's dress clothes here for over a year now and have been very satisfied until now. They have always had a $20 for full size comforter sign in their window (which is an average price) but when they added their "50% off ALL dry cleaning" sign a couple weeks ago I jumped on the opportunity to get my 2 queen size comforters done for what I was told would be $23. When I picked them up I was told I owed $48. The girl at the counter and I went back and forth on the math and she guaranteed this was the correct price and I was getting the discount. She told me the normal price to clean a queen comforter was $48 and if I had 2 it would be $96 so with the discount it would $48 for both. I didn't have the time or patience to continue to argue with her so I paid and left. I called the next day and spoke to a gentleman who told me that the $20 comforter sign is with the 50% off already and I said how can that be when the 50% off sign/promotion was just added and he said the $20 pricing was from 3 years ago and he didn't have time to talk to me anymore because he was busy. I will NOT be returning to this establishment as I truly feel ripped off with false advertising. Be careful and get your pricing in advance in writing...unfortunately you can't take this establishment's word! read more
