Didn't chefs tasting menu and thought it was great value for $50/person. Service was fast and friendly. The food was good but not great. Nothing was bad but nothing really wowed me either. I think it's a good spot to go if you're in or around Union Station and want to try a bunch of different dishes to share

Great experience! Came for our 10 yr anniversary and the staff treated us so well. The food was so good. You can tell quality is priority and the selection of gin is great! They sat us on the balcony upstairs and it was a great environment to spend our anniversary dinner. Parking is fairly easy around here and the outside is lovely and enjoyable. We will be back!

This might be my new favorite place, all the food we got during Denver restaurant week was AMAZING. I've been here one other time for happy hour, and that was great as well. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great, the drinks were good and he was attentive. The Mediterranean spritz is a good option for drinks! For food, everything blew us away. I need to go back for those ribs. The Shishito peppers and brussels sprouts were some great appetizers. We love Brussel sprouts and these were super unique with pear and burrata. The croquetas were impeccable, and you have to get the bacon wrapped dates. Honestly, I can't speak highly enough about the food, I don't know if you can go wrong with anything on that menu. We will definitely be back!!

Was invited here for a fancy dinner to catch up with some friends. It's located in the Denver Union Station, which already is fancier and not as disgusting as the one in Los Angeles. My friends were able to find parking and with a reservation things went swimmingly well. There's bar area seating here and also upstairs seating. The aesthetic is pretty sophisticated and fancy feeling. Great if you wanna swoon a potential SO, I'm sure. Giant mural, European artwork on the walls, low lights, you get the drift. Service was attentive and made sure all of our questions were answered and needs were met, including constant water refills since we visited in the summer. For our dinner we got the: 1) Trio de Jamón: -This comes with 3 different types of Spanish cured hams: Fermin Jamón Serrano, aged 2 years, Jamón Paleta, aged 3 years, and Cinco Jotas Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, acorn fed, aged 4 years. -When I see Iberico, I can only think of Ton Toko Ton lol. -Each different piece of ham has a different texture, softness, melt in your mouth goodness as well as different salty and savory flavors. -The aged 4 years one definitely has a "higher quality" texture and flavor, but a lot of us at our table really liked the aged 3 years one. Whatever that jamon was fed, cured, seasoned with, etc. made the flavor very "whole" and rich. But all were pretty good to be honest. -If you're a charcuterie enjoyer and just like the meats, this is a must. 2) Shishito Peppers: -I've had this as an appetizer at other restaurants before and it's always a solid pick. -It's blistered shishito peppers with some crunchy feta spice balls? Looks like the forbidden boba you get when you open new packaged items, but it adds a nice pop of texture to the dish 3) Gambas al ajillo: -An appetizer of head on shrimps drenched in Calabrian chili garlic butter and lime parsley. -Can't go wrong with shrimp, especially with the richness of garlic butter and the kick from the lime parsley. Shrimp was a bit dry, but the sauce made up for it overall. 4) Moorish Spiced Ribs: -Comes with Basque chilies and olive oil. -I've only ever really eaten ribs aside from American BBQ or in some form of Asian soup, so this was nice. Very seasoned. Not exactly fall off the bone, but overall pretty good. 5) Trucha Navarra: -Pan seared trout with jamon serrano, artichokes, tomato, and spinach tonnato. -Don't think I've ever had ham on fish before this night, but it's a nice mix of textures and flavor with the saltiness of the thin ham and the moist fluffiness of the fish. Veggies are seasoned well and cooked to perfection. 6) Bistec: -This is a hanger steak ala plancha, olive butter sauce and piquillo peppers. -Friend got this medium rare and it was quite tender and juicy. Lots of sauce to add a little kick to the ocean of umami flavor. Decent steak. My friends got some alcoholic drinks and enjoyed it. As a non alchies, I just sipped on water throughout the night. It seems that the menu offerings rotate and change up as well for some of the main course dishes, so keep that in mind. Definitely over ordered as we had leftovers after (this was for 5 adults). Not a place I'd go to as my usual self, but neat to experience it for the first time.

Honestly the best food in the city! Staying at the hotel for 3 nights and came back every night it was that good. The Brussels are great, the burger is excellent and the ribs are the best ribs I've ever had! Great bar seating if you're alone and a nice outdoor patio! I'll be back.

When you can get your gin and tonic made with Ke No Bi gin there is little doubt you are where you need to be. The sangria was spot on with little to no sweetness but balanced fruit taste. Excellent croquettes and a delicious corn toast paired beautifully for a light lunch

Absolutely great food!!! My husband and i were just walking around enjoying our day and i started to get in a snack mood. We popped our heads in here and to our very happy surprise, it was happy hour! $7 glasses of wine (he got the red and i got the rose) and it was really great for house wine. We personally love tapas so we picked 3 and LOVED all of them! My favorite was the bacon wrapped date. Highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed!! We sat at the bar and it was really cool! The wall of drinks was really cool and i didn't even see the upstairs until we were leaving. I told him i want to sit there next time! Service was good, however we really didn't interact with them because we were in and out. I can't wait to come back and try the dinner!

Beautiful restaurant that we have read about in the New York Times & a James Beard winner. The restaurant is actually inside Denver Union Station with some tables outdoors. Ultreia is a modern-classic restaurant with a high-ceilinged room that resembles an art gallery, with wallpaper in the style of a landscape painting that depicts cows and pastures . The name means encouragement, to keep going reaching beyond and heading onward. Our waiter explained that the food is from a beautiful San Sebastián in Northern Spain. We perused the spring dinner menu starting with a delicious refreshing red sangria and sharing their board with olives, almonds, cheese, tomato, and chorizo, along with the crispy eggplant, sesame, honey. We shared an entrée with pan seared trout, Serrano ham, artichokes, tomatoes, spinach, and tonnato sauce. Our meal was exceptional, fresh, flavorful & very different from what I usually order and try.

Fantastic food. Loved the fried deviled eggs and toast with Brie. Definitely recommend the board of meats, cheeses, nuts, and toast. The options from Spain are great! We've traveled to Spain and enjoyed the imberico ham and they had it as an option for our meat board. The drinks were good and so were the churros, which we'd recommend with the ice cream. It was in the train station, but they did good to give the place an upscale feel in spite of that. Our server was also very knowledgeable. Answered our questions confidently and could even speak to specific ingredient questions which impressed me. We will be back when we visit Denver again!

We found this place by accident and now one of our favorite places. Our server was super nice and recommended the Chef's Feast which includes chef's choice of plates and 20% off any bottle of wine. It was the perfect amount of food and great way to spend the afternoon. Perfect pairing of salads, breads and proteins which we would have never been able to select for ourselves. Totally worth the $90 for 2 people.

    Pastel De Nata dessert.
    Kai L.

The fifth and final stop of our Downtown Denver Food Tour brought us to Denver Union Station. Our guide pointed to where the restaurant is located, but we didn't even go in. We all sat in the seating area of the Station and the dessert Pastel De Nata was brought out to us on a tray. The dessert itself was okay, nothing special. By the way they looked I thought they would be really flaky. Not too sweet though with good texture. Interesting that the name of this pastel is "de nada" as in "from nothing". Nuns made these from nothing when monks kept the egg yolk for themselves and gave them the egg whites. So these nuns were able to make delicious pastries "from nothing". Just a tidbit our guide shared with us.

I found this place on Yelp because my friend and I just had a trip to Portugal and talked about tapas and patatas bravas. We made a reservation right before a concert we were going to. We took the train and since we have to transfer at Union Station - this was perfect. We were seated upstairs (had the option to also sit outside). Our server was so nice and also informative with questions we had about the menu since we needed some translations. He made recommendations as well. I loved the crab salad toast that I got. There was also a plate that came with bread, olives, chorizo, manchego cheese, and this tomato jam. It was incredible! Great flavors when you mix them all together. We throughly enjoyed and it between the two of us - had plenty to eat. I can't wait to go back and try more items. Love the convenience of the place also!

Ultimately, we ordered the following: Artichoke tortelloni Eric's bao-nuts Gabe's chronic chicken salad sandwich Rioja Benedict Colorado lamb burger From beginning to end, all the dishes were exceptional! Everyone loved their meal! The artichoke tortelloni was enough as an appetizer for a party of 4. Apparently, we ordered a "desert" with the Eric's bao-nuts to start everything off. This in itself was so good, I'd go back just for this if I had the chance. I personally had the colorado lamb burger. I generally tend to eat light and don't finish my meals in one sitting. This definitely wasn't the case. The presentation for the burger caught my attention as well. We were so happy with our meals that we decided to get a "2nd desert", the flourless fudge torte. Man, I'm impressed. Chocolate was not too rich or sweet, loved the cherry compote. This is was a winner! Overall, it was a great lunch dining experience to start off my mother's birthday. Everything is thoughtfully curated and choreographed, from the beverage selection to the portions of the plating that you get to see between courses. But the choreography does feel a bit stiff and cold at times. While the maitre'd was lovely, it was harder to engage with the other staff. I generally avoid alcohol pairings (my taste buds get overstimulated after the first few rounds), but I did enjoy my cocktail from the a la carte menu. Through our 7 course tasting menu, we explored a fun fusion of local and Central American cuisines. The bread mentioned in previous reviews is gone, but we traveled from ocean, plains, and forest in various presentations of small plates. Some of the bites seemed less inspired (of course adding pate and caviar is going to feel fancy), but other courses like the red snapper ceviche and chocolate + papaya dessert were playful, tart, and funky. You can tell that sustainability is also a huge part of the consciousness here. Be open minded to different flavor and texture profiles and know that not every dish is meant to please everyone. We ended our meal with a copy of the evening's menu as well as a satchet of house-made spices meant to evoke the essence of this Costa Rican fusion. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. The honeycomb on top, the cherries, all leading to a perfect finish. A time was had. Thanks El Five
