My friend and I ate there for dinner and we were able to get outside patio seating on a nice summer night. We sat on som very comfortable cushioned lounge chairs. The service was really good and food came out fast. We ordered the brussel sprouts, croquettes de jamón, and trout trucha Navarra. Everything was delicious! The trout surprisingly came out pink but it was cooked just right and tender. I liked that they kept the skin and it was a little seared crunchy. The croquettes de jamón were very dense and filling so I'm glad they came in little ball sizes. The brussel sprouts were well seasoned. We also ordered the green wing cabaret wine. Overall a very good experience.

Came here for Happy Hour to use my inKind app deal with Jared. We got a red sangria and vermouth to drink (I really liked this, came with a lemon twist and huge olive), and for food we got the tapas board, bikini, among other items, and then split the patatas bravas and trout for dinner. We were seated on the second level, and it was cool to see the floor below. Overall, the food was solid but wasn't blown away by anything (especially after eating tapas in Spain). The croquettes on the tapas board were very tasty, the pan con tomate was liquidy and not overly flavorful. I liked the bikini "sandwich" a lot with the ham inside. The patatas bravas were also tasty. The trout was unfortunately the only truly disappointing component of the meal - it was SOOO dry like I couldn't eat it and gave it to Jared. To finish, we split the pastel de nata (Portuguese dessert we were obsessed with when we went to Portugal, not the same but tasty), and a glass of port. Overall, cool atmosphere, great service and solid food.

We drove here from our hotel and attempted to find street parking (This was a Tuesday afternoon) and didn't have much luck. Tried a garage and it was full before we settled on another garage. In the Union Station area, I've been here before and had a great experience last time. We did make a reservation but it didn't seem needed. Cute inside, some indoor seating inside and a small upstairs loft as well as a nice back outside area. Service was friendly and attentive most of the time, small lags here and there and an accidental wrong order for one of the tinned fish. We ordered more bread for both of the tinned fish since we were able to keep both but we did pay extra for it. Had I known, I would have also asked for it toasted. We ordered the Rose Sangria and I believed my husband ordered one of the gin & tonics. For our food, we ordered the Moorish Spiced Ribs, Piri Piri Tuna Tartare with the sauce on the side and the Smoked Trout. The Tuna in Olive Oil was brought out instead of the Smoked Trout but was also good. Definitely recommend coming here.

Didn't chefs tasting menu and thought it was great value for $50/person. Service was fast and friendly. The food was good but not great. Nothing was bad but nothing really wowed me either. I think it's a good spot to go if you're in or around Union Station and want to try a bunch of different dishes to share

Great experience! Came for our 10 yr anniversary and the staff treated us so well. The food was so good. You can tell quality is priority and the selection of gin is great! They sat us on the balcony upstairs and it was a great environment to spend our anniversary dinner. Parking is fairly easy around here and the outside is lovely and enjoyable. We will be back!

This might be my new favorite place, all the food we got during Denver restaurant week was AMAZING. I've been here one other time for happy hour, and that was great as well. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great, the drinks were good and he was attentive. The Mediterranean spritz is a good option for drinks! For food, everything blew us away. I need to go back for those ribs. The Shishito peppers and brussels sprouts were some great appetizers. We love Brussel sprouts and these were super unique with pear and burrata. The croquetas were impeccable, and you have to get the bacon wrapped dates. Honestly, I can't speak highly enough about the food, I don't know if you can go wrong with anything on that menu. We will definitely be back!!

Was invited here for a fancy dinner to catch up with some friends. It's located in the Denver Union Station, which already is fancier and not as disgusting as the one in Los Angeles. My friends were able to find parking and with a reservation things went swimmingly well. There's bar area seating here and also upstairs seating. The aesthetic is pretty sophisticated and fancy feeling. Great if you wanna swoon a potential SO, I'm sure. Giant mural, European artwork on the walls, low lights, you get the drift. Service was attentive and made sure all of our questions were answered and needs were met, including constant water refills since we visited in the summer. For our dinner we got the: 1) Trio de Jamón: -This comes with 3 different types of Spanish cured hams: Fermin Jamón Serrano, aged 2 years, Jamón Paleta, aged 3 years, and Cinco Jotas Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, acorn fed, aged 4 years. -When I see Iberico, I can only think of Ton Toko Ton lol. -Each different piece of ham has a different texture, softness, melt in your mouth goodness as well as different salty and savory flavors. -The aged 4 years one definitely has a "higher quality" texture and flavor, but a lot of us at our table really liked the aged 3 years one. Whatever that jamon was fed, cured, seasoned with, etc. made the flavor very "whole" and rich. But all were pretty good to be honest. -If you're a charcuterie enjoyer and just like the meats, this is a must. 2) Shishito Peppers: -I've had this as an appetizer at other restaurants before and it's always a solid pick. -It's blistered shishito peppers with some crunchy feta spice balls? Looks like the forbidden boba you get when you open new packaged items, but it adds a nice pop of texture to the dish 3) Gambas al ajillo: -An appetizer of head on shrimps drenched in Calabrian chili garlic butter and lime parsley. -Can't go wrong with shrimp, especially with the richness of garlic butter and the kick from the lime parsley. Shrimp was a bit dry, but the sauce made up for it overall. 4) Moorish Spiced Ribs: -Comes with Basque chilies and olive oil. -I've only ever really eaten ribs aside from American BBQ or in some form of Asian soup, so this was nice. Very seasoned. Not exactly fall off the bone, but overall pretty good. 5) Trucha Navarra: -Pan seared trout with jamon serrano, artichokes, tomato, and spinach tonnato. -Don't think I've ever had ham on fish before this night, but it's a nice mix of textures and flavor with the saltiness of the thin ham and the moist fluffiness of the fish. Veggies are seasoned well and cooked to perfection. 6) Bistec: -This is a hanger steak ala plancha, olive butter sauce and piquillo peppers. -Friend got this medium rare and it was quite tender and juicy. Lots of sauce to add a little kick to the ocean of umami flavor. Decent steak. My friends got some alcoholic drinks and enjoyed it. As a non alchies, I just sipped on water throughout the night. It seems that the menu offerings rotate and change up as well for some of the main course dishes, so keep that in mind. Definitely over ordered as we had leftovers after (this was for 5 adults). Not a place I'd go to as my usual self, but neat to experience it for the first time.

Honestly the best food in the city! Staying at the hotel for 3 nights and came back every night it was that good. The Brussels are great, the burger is excellent and the ribs are the best ribs I've ever had! Great bar seating if you're alone and a nice outdoor patio! I'll be back.

When you can get your gin and tonic made with Ke No Bi gin there is little doubt you are where you need to be. The sangria was spot on with little to no sweetness but balanced fruit taste. Excellent croquettes and a delicious corn toast paired beautifully for a light lunch

Absolutely great food!!! My husband and i were just walking around enjoying our day and i started to get in a snack mood. We popped our heads in here and to our very happy surprise, it was happy hour! $7 glasses of wine (he got the red and i got the rose) and it was really great for house wine. We personally love tapas so we picked 3 and LOVED all of them! My favorite was the bacon wrapped date. Highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed!! We sat at the bar and it was really cool! The wall of drinks was really cool and i didn't even see the upstairs until we were leaving. I told him i want to sit there next time! Service was good, however we really didn't interact with them because we were in and out. I can't wait to come back and try the dinner!

Beautiful restaurant that we have read about in the New York Times & a James Beard winner. The restaurant is actually inside Denver Union Station with some tables outdoors. Ultreia is a modern-classic restaurant with a high-ceilinged room that resembles an art gallery, with wallpaper in the style of a landscape painting that depicts cows and pastures . The name means encouragement, to keep going reaching beyond and heading onward. Our waiter explained that the food is from a beautiful San Sebastián in Northern Spain. We perused the spring dinner menu starting with a delicious refreshing red sangria and sharing their board with olives, almonds, cheese, tomato, and chorizo, along with the crispy eggplant, sesame, honey. We shared an entrée with pan seared trout, Serrano ham, artichokes, tomatoes, spinach, and tonnato sauce. Our meal was exceptional, fresh, flavorful & very different from what I usually order and try.

Fantastic food. Loved the fried deviled eggs and toast with Brie. Definitely recommend the board of meats, cheeses, nuts, and toast. The options from Spain are great! We've traveled to Spain and enjoyed the imberico ham and they had it as an option for our meat board. The drinks were good and so were the churros, which we'd recommend with the ice cream. It was in the train station, but they did good to give the place an upscale feel in spite of that. Our server was also very knowledgeable. Answered our questions confidently and could even speak to specific ingredient questions which impressed me. We will be back when we visit Denver again!

Ultimately, we ordered the following: Artichoke tortelloni Eric's bao-nuts Gabe's chronic chicken salad sandwich Rioja Benedict Colorado lamb burger From beginning to end, all the dishes were exceptional! Everyone loved their meal! The artichoke tortelloni was enough as an appetizer for a party of 4. Apparently, we ordered a "desert" with the Eric's bao-nuts to start everything off. This in itself was so good, I'd go back just for this if I had the chance. I personally had the colorado lamb burger. I generally tend to eat light and don't finish my meals in one sitting. This definitely wasn't the case. The presentation for the burger caught my attention as well. We were so happy with our meals that we decided to get a "2nd desert", the flourless fudge torte. The bartenders and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and made sitting at the bar a great experience! I love the experience of ordering small plates so this place is perfect for that although there are larger plates you can order (they do warn you that these take longer to prepare). For drinks I tried both the citron sunrise (frozen citron pressé, chamomile, cappelitti, sparkling wine) and the corsica martini. The citron sunrise was very refreshing although a bit too sweet for my taste. The martini comes with multiple garnishes and most of the drink in a smaller vessel on the side so that you can mix and match and create new martini flavors as you drink which I thought was such a great experience! Everything is thoughtfully curated and choreographed, from the beverage selection to the portions of the plating that you get to see between courses. But the choreography does feel a bit stiff and cold at times. While the maitre'd was lovely, it was harder to engage with the other staff. I generally avoid alcohol pairings (my taste buds get overstimulated after the first few rounds), but I did enjoy my cocktail from the a la carte menu. Through our 7 course tasting menu, we explored a fun fusion of local and Central American cuisines. The bread mentioned in previous reviews is gone, but we traveled from ocean, plains, and forest in various presentations of small plates. Some of the bites seemed less inspired (of course adding pate and caviar is going to feel fancy), but other courses like the red snapper ceviche and chocolate + papaya dessert were playful, tart, and funky. You can tell that sustainability is also a huge part of the consciousness here. Be open minded to different flavor and texture profiles and know that not every dish is meant to please everyone. After a heavy lunch, the prospect of Spanish tapas was exactly what I needed--light, social, and full of variety. The Experience Since my friends are regulars, I let them take the reins on ordering. We started with sangria for the table, which set a relaxed, celebratory tone for the evening. The tapas that followed were all impeccably sized and flavorful. The Standout: I was pleasantly surprised by the dates. It's a dish I might not ordinarily choose myself, but it ended up being a highlight of the meal. The Vibe: The atmosphere is "buzzing" in the best way possible. It has an inviting layout with a mix of bar seating, tables, and cozy booths that create a "friends among friends" energy. The "Speakeasy" Aesthetic What really sets this place apart is the ambiance. It has a distinct speakeasy feel that makes you feel as though you've stepped back in time. It's a relaxing, high-quality environment that focuses on great conversation and even better food. I'll certainly be back next time I'm in town!

The smoked burrata was delicious, especially with all the toppings it came with. The sea bass completely surprised me, in the best way. Sweet, spicy, savory, crunchy, with so many different textures and flavors happening at once. The lamb skewers were another favorite. The meat was thinly sliced and secured on the skewer, which made every bite incredibly tender. They were just bomb overall! The drinks were also very well put together and complemented the food perfectly. The server was outstanding. Definitely a place I'm eager to come back to and try more dishes from the menu!

And from that point on, from first taste, I knew my experience would be exceptional. The service was attentive without being overly attentive, and the chef's were so kind, answering every one of my weird questions about what they were preparing or ingredients that I noticed. I ordered the smoked burrata to start. The balance between the candied pistachio, artichoke pesto, and wagyu cecina really created a well balanced and unexpected dish. The burrata was creamy and the salty and sweet components balanced the aged sherry gastrique and made for an incredible intro to a beautiful performance by the chefs. Next was another small dish, which I wish I remembered the description for (I need to bring a little notebook with me), but it was a perfect segue into the next course, the ibérico presa. Wow. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. The honeycomb on top, the cherries, all leading to a perfect finish. A time was had. Thanks El Five
