Came in for a Birthday dinner and we had a group of 10. We didn't get a chance to sit at the grill but had a table near the Sushi station. One of the others ordered the shrimp and filet mignon. The filet Mignon came out cold and was tough. I ordered the chicken and fried rice and the fried rice tasted like it had spoiled fish or some VERY ODD flavor. I had two bites and that's all I could handle. My chicken was tough too. My wife got the steak and Chicken and only took about two bites as you can see from the attached photo. The server put in some effort but was lacking on getting drinks refilled. From the photo you can see that a full plate was left behind and a full bowl of rice. I won't be coming back to throw my money away for cold and horrible food. Just a point to ponder is I wouldn't even take the food home for the dogs, it's that bad. This place is a hidden gem in Braselton! We come at least once a month and have yet to be disappointed. The steak is always perfectly cooked (especially with shrimp), and the chicken with double fried rice is my personal favorite--bacon in the rice takes it to another level. Ginger salads are super fresh, and we usually double up instead of doing soup. The staff is courteous and efficient, and we're always seated quickly, even during busy dinner hours. Customer service is great, restaurant is a little dated but clean. The food was good but the ginger sauce for dipping was not present. They did have the yum yum sauce. No chop sticks for eating. We brought a birthday boy and he was treated to singing and a piece of cake. Overall a good place for birthdays. The quality of meat was a little fatty on the steak but all in all it was good. Worth the price I'd say. 4/5 is truly what this place is and a large majority was the superb service from their staff. I'd love to give them a 5/5 but it seemed some elements of hibachi were missing. Service- server was good with no issues. The hibachi chef was basic. The fun piece of hibachi was missing completely. The chef cooked the food. That was it. Food- decent. The soup was ok, not great. The salad had good dressing but it was nothing but water at the bottom so be careful when you mix it up. The filet was fatty which I don't understand: the filet and chicken had no flavor and the chicken was over done. Some people like meat in their fried rice- I didn't know it came that way and by the time I realized it, it was too late. I wish that someone said it has pork, I would have requested it without the pork. The price is a little more than other hibachi places- they charge you over $3 for fried rice. Most places include the fried rice with the price of the entree. Ambiance- a little dated but clean. The staff all appeared to be Japanese which is different than most other hibachi places. My dad took us all here to celebrate him selling his business and kicking off July 4th. It's certainly a place that is far away from my typical eating spots, but my family and son loves hibachi. We had a little bit of a wait, even with call ahead reservations. They seemed to be semi-busy as well. We got a table in the back room finally, though. Everything here as far as the hibachi food was pretty normal, minus them putting bacon in the fried rice (I don't eat bacon very often so this was a nice treat, and really changed the flavoring of the fried rice). That was my favorite part for sure. The salad was so-so (dressing was very runny) and my chicken & lobster were par for the course. We did order a couple rolls for the family. The GNO roll was unique and very good! Would recommend it. Also, the large hot sake here was the cheapest I've ever seen, so if you like house sake, this is a great place to get your fill! Our Hibachi Chef was a little low on the entertainment. He did ok, but felt like he was going through the motions. This is partially why I decreased my rating, as hibachi to me has always been about the entertainment value from the chef. We came here right at 5 PM when they reopen for dinner. The sushi quality here is consistently fresh and phenomenal. Great taste and beautiful presentation. Run down, tired and in deep need of TLC. We let our sever know that it was our 3 year old sons first time and even with that knowledge and us being a party of 6... we got NO SHOW. No volcano, no flying shrimp, no train no egg roll. Overpriced mediocre food with a run down restaurant and tired staff. My sister in law introduced me to this restaurant. On our family favorites. Staff always pleasant and helpful. I ask for a plain fried rice and was ask if maybe I might like bacon for flavor, wow, is now one of my favorite ways to make fried rice. Craving a lobster roll, I decided to try it, as a pick up order. Got home , some type of Salmon roll. Called the Ninja and talked to the mgr on duty. We waited for over an hour which was fine but then waited another 30-40 minutes at the table for our food to be prepared. Service was good and our server was super nice. The presentation was okay. I always start or only eat sushi most times and sit at the bar so I can see the fish. Had a great sashimi platter recently, 18 pieces $20 or so- great selection of yellow tail, blue fin tunas, salmon, shrimp, octopus or eel- you can ask for what else u want. Fresh, melts in your mouth. The boys like the Hamilton Mill Roll or Sumo roll, or just a spicy tuna with lots of sriracha! The hibachi you can get at a table or the hibachi grill. Chefs are good, like the kids, food is great. I like filet and shrimp or lobster, shrimp and chicken is good, sirloin is ok. For the price points from 22-$29 an entree, get a filet, rare to MR!! I told the waitress that it was no baked and she try to tell me it was, she said the Mayo is warm. This review is based off the sushi offerings and only that. We got the Secret Roll ($11.95), Rainbow Roll ($9.95) and the Mamahoohoo Roll ($9.95). I'm not sure what I was expecting but for a place that identifies as a steakhouse and sushi purveyor, I expected better. The sushi was was horribly mushy. There was a large amount of rice in all the rolls and usually I can deal with it but this overly moist rice was not tolerable. The yellowtail on the Rainbow Roll was chewy and tough. The rest of the fish was ok, definitely not the freshest. I'm very particular about eel - it has to be perfectly cooked and preferably without the skin. If the skin is still there, it needs to be well grilled so the "fishiness" is cooked away. The eel on the Secret Roll was fatty and definitely fishy because the skin was still there and it was not cooked enough. I'm not a spicy tuna fan so the Mamahoohoo Roll wasn't my favorite. We got it because the SO loves it. To wrap up, I would come back to give the hibachi a try but I don't think I'll try the sushi again. read more

It's your typical Japanese steakhouse. The food is fine. The atmosphere is fine. There is just nothing really special about the place. I was surprised that the Sushi appetizer was way better than I expected. The fish was pretty fresh and the roll was made well. Looking around the room, its clearly a family destination. This was a quick experience and I didn't try much- but I still wanted to get a review out and then possibly update later when we go back. We were not greeted at the door, but I think it was a weird time because everyone else after us was greeted promptly. We sat ourselves at the bar and a minute or so later we got a write on sushi menu. I've never been here so I had to go back to the front and grab a sushi menu with explanations on the rolls. I got scallop nigiri and a roll I just can't remember but it had fried shrimp and crab salad on the inside and eel and avocado on the outside. The eel was amazing and this was a great roll! The sushi chef makes them tight and they do not fall apart. My husband got a rainbow roll and a secret roll which had fried soft shell crab. The rolls came out as they were ready which is cool. I got my roll and he got his rainbow. About 10 minutes later he got his special roll and then at the end of the meal, we got our scallop nigiri that we completely forgot. The odd timing on the rolls and the weird greet is why I give this three stars off the bat. But we will be back to try other stuff!! read more

I live very close to Ninja and work from home. It has been three years since I've eaten at Ninja because it feels unfriendly there, poor service, and Diet Coke comes in a can -- refills would be expensive. Ordered Godzilla roll take-out today; arrived at restaurant 10 minutes after calling in the order and it was waiting for me at the counter. The owner was standing near the door when I entered but never greeted me nor made eye contact even though the place was empty at 1:00. Got home 5 minutes later and opened the container. Very disappointed. The roll was cold and stale, the shrimp tempura was cold and soggy. The misago was skimpy and pressed flat into the roll. The roll was obviously pre-made and rolled up in cling wrap - likely last night's leftovers. If I had time, I would have taken it back. As the food is good they charge full price for children. We went there with 3 adults and 4 children. Of course we ordered for our kids but we thought when we pointed to the children ages 4, 7, 9 and 11 that they were getting child's portions. The food and service are consistently good here. The chefs are not very enthusiastic or entertaining, but the food tastes good. The waitresses are pleasant and come around often enough. It's also nice to see management working the floor as well. I have always sat at the hibachi tables when I come and a couple of times I've gotten a decent view of what I could see of the kitchen/prep area behind the half-curtain. What I saw was quite surprising. The miso soup comes out of a dispenser (similar to those metal tea dispensers at fast food restaurants) and then the mushrooms and green onions are dumped in after. For some reason, I always imagined that the soup was ladled out from a huge pot. The salad is hand picked (yes.. picked out by bare hands) out from the plastic bin that sits on the counter until it's empty. I've seen the staff here wipe tables down and then walk right in to prepare the soup and salad. Please, please, please be more sanitary! There are a lot of regulars and the families that come in are nice to interact with, which is always a good sign. Next time, I might just check out their sushi bar instead and skip hibachi. I definitely would have rated this restaurant a lot higher if it weren't for the sanitation issues. read more
