The server was attentive and careful with food allergies. Portions were generous and presentation impressive. The only downside was the large carrots in the salad, which were a bit awkward to eat though I've seen similar at other Asian restaurants.

The food and service was great. I used to come here often right when it opened when it was popular to the city. It's not the same like it used to be and the rolls have too much sauce on them to where the rolls fall apart when you try picking them up. Still good tho!

I had a great experience. I learned how to use chop sticks here. I tried octopus soup, I wanted mine spicy, raw sushi, and a few other things. I enjoyed the dim scenery and saki as well

I tried the Rangoon Dip, the vegan pad Thai, the salmon roll and the hummingbird cake The dip was good. I would have liked a touch of sweetness, but only because that's what I'm used to with crab Rangoon. But you could definitely taste and see the crab. The pad Thai was heavy handed. Not only was it massive, but it had a ton of sauce and then a ton of peanut sauce on top. The noodles were overdone. I like pad Thai that is light. This tasted heavy. The spicy salmon roll was well done. Huge chunks of salmon. It was the most meat I've ever had in one of these types of rolls. The Hummingbird cake was amazing. So moist. So flavorful. I don't usually like cake and I LOVED it. Overall, the next time I go I think I'll stick to sushi because that seems to be their forte.

I have frequented this place several times. Umi, every time, is excellent in what they do! The facilities are modern and comfortable. The atmosphere is made to enjoy a relaxing dinner with conversation. The staff is always friendly and professional. They know their products well. On this visit we started with the vegetable rolls. This are sliced at an angle lengthwise so they are very easy to share. The filling is crisp, fresh and tasty. The fried case is done perfect - enough crisp without an oily taste. The sweet and sour sauce is typical of most but very good. We also tried the crab Rangoon. The waitress said they were the best she had ever tasted - they were! The filling was rich, smooth and had a slight crab flavor...enough to over power the cream cheese filling. The casing was again fried to perfection. I started the meal with the Miso soup and salad. The Miso soup wasn't distinctive..just refreshing. The salad had a slight ginger dressing taste and was incredibly fresh. For dinner I had the spicy salmon sushi. The Salomon was tasty with a good consistency and very fresh. On previous visits I have had the specialty rolls - all delicious and creative. Definitely give this place a try!

My orange go-go dinner roll was the best sushi I have had since I was in NYC or California! Wow! I was very impressed with the quality and flavor it was absolutely delicious! My friend and I tried the cosmopolitan and sugar cookie martini which was amazing! Also the crab Rangoon was delicious! Our bartender Tori was incredible and professional! The service was excellent! Definitely will be returning for lunch and dinner !

Tonights experience was not quite what we've come to expect. We were greeted and warmly welcomed by the hostess. Seated promptly. Love the modern decor and atmosphere, especially with its' open kitchen! Our server was very friendly. Took about 20 minutes to get the beverages we ordered, but an apology was offered, and everything was delivered to our table promptly thereafter, and with a genuine smile. She was actually EXCELLENT, and acted as though it was a pleasure to serve us! French Onion Soup is one of the best in this area. Broth is complex and delicious. Authentic! So good, forgot to take a pic until it was nearly gone! Entrees came w/choice of salad. We both chose the never-disappointing house chopped salad. Hubby got the NY Strip, perfectly grilled, accompanied by fabulous herb-roasted baby potatoes (highly recommend!) and fresh green beans. I chose the hangar steak with herb-cheesy mashed potato and asparagus sides. Steak was exactly as ordered! Asparagus was surprisingly very thin, dry, and not of the usual CHOPS quality we've come to expect. Happened to be hubby's BD, and he was treated to a moist, chocolaty brownie sundae (candle and all!). Overall a great evening, just a couple of glitches that made us take away 1/2 star...BUT! We definitely will be back to this favorite dining location!

The food remains great, the service is good, the problem is there is no pride in keeping the public areas clean. A few months ago it was the amount in dust on the bar shelves. Several times the entry door and floor was obviously not cleaned for more than a day. Friday I booked a business lunch and at noon, the floors hadn't been cleaned from the previous business day. The men's room was dirty. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is , if there is no pride taken in the presentation of the other areas of the restaurant. I'm okay with the exception, but now it is common not to expect a clean environment at Chops. Outside of an occasional carryout, my dine-in is most likely done.

The Bad: · Broths: Tried 3 types. All were watery and completely bland. · Ingredients: Quail eggs were straight from a can. Crab had no meat. The only "noodles" were instant ramen packets. · Sauces: The dipping sauce station was out of cilantro--a main ingredient. · Drinks: The martini was amateurish and watered down. · Value: For the price, the quality is shockingly low. The (One) Positive: · The buffet does have a wide variety of frozen foods and seafood mix to choose from. Bottom Line: If you've never tried KBBQ/hotpot and just want the novelty, maybe. But if you know what good hot pot tastes like, save your money. You'll get better flavor and quality buying ingredients from an Asian grocery and cooking at home for a fraction of the price. As a seafood lover, I was sold just based on the name alone The building itself is pretty cool. We were told it dates back to the 1880s and is the 2nd oldest building in Indiana behind some other one in Indianapolis. You can definitely feel the history when you walk in. The place is small, with only about 14 tables, and everything is packed in pretty tight, but that's part of what gives it character. The old bar immediately grabbed my attention and looked like it hadn't changed much in over a century We started with the Parmesan baked oysters, which were outstanding and surprisingly fresh for being in the Midwest The homemade clam chowder was loaded with clams and flavor. It was so good it didn't need anything added to it. We also ordered a couple of smoked Old Fashioneds that were a great way to start the night I wanted sea bass, but they were out, so I went with the walleye fish and chips. It's honestly hard for me to pass up fish and chips when they're on a menu, I'm glad I did. The fish was well-seasoned and on point My wife went with a seafood combo that included seafood au gratin, bay scallops, shrimp, crab, applewood bacon risotto, and baked in a lobster creamy sauce Being in Fort Wayne for just one night, this ended up being a great find. The food was excellent, the service was friendly (Shoutout Lindsay) and the whole place had a nostalgic feel that made the experience even better If you're passing through and in the mood for seafood or live locally, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.

Wow, very nice and also delicious. Their menu is amazing. Wide array of Mexican seafood dishes. They also have some non seafood options if needed. But when you see a seafood heavy menu at a restaurant, you *really* should get it. I focused on their new menu of shrimp dishes. They included head-on shrimp, in the shells. I wasn't sure I wanted to work for my meal and get messy. But damn, that Camarones al Cilantro (shrimp with cilantro) looked fantastic. I hemmed and hawed and decided I would order it along with some guacamole to get some vegetable material in me. When it came it was piping hot. Couldn't eat it, so focused on the guac for a bit. As the shrimp cooled I went to town on what may have been the messiest meal of my life. (Do NOT order unpeeled shrimp if you are on a first date or a job interview) Let me tell you - these shrimp were unbelievable. They were swimming in sauce and as I peeled them, i then dipped and chowed. The cilantro/chili/garlic? sauce was off the charts good. The onions and cucumber buried within it were also a nice discovery as I made my way through this mountain of a full pound of shrimp. It took a while and the sauce dripped down to my elbows at times. It was a caveman eating experience and it was probably the best Mexican dish I have ever eaten. It was probably a good thing I was eating alone. I don't see any other way to eat this unless you're a psychopath crunching through shrimp shells. But leaving those shells on keeps the shrimp moist as they cook and more importantly it keeps the shrimp flavor from cooking off into the sauce. Shrimp with the shell on do taste better - they are not just being lazy here. This meal was great and I would love to go back if I'm driving through again. Thank you for this!

The bartender was kind and polite and quick with the service. There were only about three or four tables with people, let them during the course of my time. A few other folks came and sat at the bar. I heard it a side salad with salmon and it came out to me pretty quickly. The flavor was delicious, the salmon, well cooked, and the apple vinaigrette dressing on the salad was delightful. The biggest challenge, was a table with a few children sitting at it. This is no fault of the restaurant, and really, not even the result of my four-star rating. This is merely a statement: if your children are misbehaving and screaming and banging things on the table while other people are trying to eat their dinner, then perhaps the best option is to remove the children from the restaurant. It's always surprising to me when parents are selfish and subject everyone else in the vicinity around them to the poor behavior of their children. As a parent myself, I would never do that to other people. When you go out to a nice restaurant, you want to relax and enjoy the time not listen to tantrums from a three year old. Even the bartender in the servers were frustrated with this table. Some people even walked out after sitting down when they realize that unbelievable noise is coming from one table. Ok, soapbox time is over. Support the summit grill kitchen.

Summit Grill Kitchen & Cocktails - jumbo onion rings and supreme pizza…read more I love onion rings so I had to try the "jumbo onion rings" on the appetizer menu. It was the least expensive appetizer option at $12...and the "jumbo" sounded attractive. So why not? The rings are "jumbo"-lly bigger than most others offer. The ring is made from a large onion. The onion piece was rather thin. I was expecting a "thicker" piece - perhaps two layers thick given the size of the ring. The onion was sweeter and mild. The batter was very thin, flakey and a touch oily. It has a nice seasoning to go along with the chipotle sauce. Definitely worth a try if you like onion rings. The crust is a hand tossed style and baked to a soft crispy crust. It has a slightly sweet flavor with a mild flour taste. The sauce was not very prominent to the flavor - mild tomato sauce taste. The sauce was hidden by the pile of fresh toppings. There was a nice amount of delicious mozzarella cheese to hold the toppings together and give it a moist pizza flavor. Cold Pizza Test - the pizza was still soft and moist 24 hours later. It seems like the ingredients "marinated" and enhance the Italian flavors. The mozzarella cheese flavors tended to "pop" more. Delicious cold pizza! Overall a pizza. Dinning in is a nice experience. Beautiful facility. Casual and relaxed...though it's pretty loud. Professional and friendly service.
