Came in on a Friday night, and the place was packed! They were clearly swamped, and we waited about 20 minutes to be seated, but the staff was incredibly apologetic, friendly, and welcoming. Once we were seated, the service was great. We ordered several appetizers, and the poke nachos were absolutely fantastic, so flavorful and delicious! The garlic edamame is a must-have. The sushi rolls were also huge, filling, and amazing. Overall, this is a great local spot with delicious food and wonderful service. We'll definitely be back often! read more

Little gem less than 2 miles from me that I didn't even know about for years. They have a "plant-based" menu right in their standard menu, which is awesome. While I'm not sure why they use "PB" when the rolls aren't vegan unless you say so (due to non-vegan mayo), it's still great and the rolls were good. Of 8 "PB" rolls offered, I tried 3 so far, and they were all satisfactory if just a bit uninspired. Their agedashi tofu was maybe the best I've had. And they have real wasabi which was also great and turned my partner into a wasabi-liker. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and was able to confirm the vegan edits needed and also confirmed there is (thankfully) no egg in the tempura. It's also really clean with trendy decor on the inside with a little sushi bar. I'm not knocking a star off even though I would prefer clarity on the menu (actually make the rolls PB/vegan) and some more inspired vegan rolls in the future. Will definitely be back! read more

We came to Sushi Omakase to treat our 8 year old to a sushi dinner and were in the Roseville area, so we figured we'd try out a new to us sushi place. We were definitely not disappointed!! Such a big roll, great for sharing. It comes with 2 extra side rolls that are just rice and Kobe beef and then a side salad with Kobe beef on top. I ordered the bento box with Teriyaki Salmon and Shrimp Tempura. Both were delicious. I also very much Iiked the other items included with the box. Driven past this place multiple times, but finally tried it for the first time. They were shortstaffed that night and though they had a lot of tables open, they did not seat us for about 10 minutes. Also took a while for them to bring drinks and greet us once we were sitting. Service was also not very good overall due to them being short staffed. We tried the Poké bowl and Charlie Sheen roll. The fish tasted very fishy and not fresh. Also the amount of fish was pretty minimal compared to the price. Prices overall are fairly high for the quality that you get. Based upon this experience, I would not return. read more

I came here with my wife for a lunch date. We were greeted very enthusiastically and they didn't make us feel weird about using a BOGO coupon. The place was clean and it had a great view, with a fountain outside. I am told they have live music on weekends. For about $60 weeks ordered two roles and a bento. We liked the sushi and my wife really liked there was a rice alternative. LOVE this place! It's located next to Final Gravity which is perfect and convenient. We usually order food to-go and bring it over to Final Gravity so we can enjoy a few beers. Our go to is the spicy edamame, gyozas, and chicken teriyaki plate. Everything is seasoned perfectly and delicious. The staff is nice, friendly, and helpful. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We've eaten in the restaurant once and it was a nice experience. Our preference is to-go but only because we love drinking beer with our meals. PARKING: They share a parking lot with quite a few other businesses but you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot, you may need to walk a tiny bit but who doesn't like to get a few extra steps? read more

Many of the rolls seem double stuffed with crab mixture which overwhelms the other ingredients and makes everything taste the same. Cleanliness was also a concern. The place felt a bit dirty and even the soy sauce bottle on the table was sticky. Service was just okay. Nothing special. They simply took our order and brought the food. Overall I was really surprised by the high ratings because my experience did not reflect them at all.

If you only choose one of the AYCE options, it is about $25 but seems worth it to get the all 3 combo for $30. It does seem that everybody at the table has to choose the same option. Hot pot - You each get your own individual hot pot. There had a pretty good variety of broth flavors to choose from. There is a menu that you can order the meat from. There were 5 of us and we were told we can order 4 meats to share per round. There is a separate area for to grab a tray/bowl and choose your veggies. All in all, I enjoyed the Tonkatsu broth and like the variety of meats and veggies available. Korean BBQ - A bit different in that you do not order at the table. There is an area with small trays of meat available for you to grab and bring back to your table. Good variety. Pork Jowl was my favorite and it's not as common. The only issue is that if your party doesn't communicate, you some how end up grabbing all of the same items! So discuss amongst yourselves or else it might be an overkill. Customer Satisfaction Survey 1-5 Scale: Cleanliness - 5 - restaurant was very clean and upon entering they allowed us to choose our seat and mentioned if it needed to be cleaned to let them know. I like when servers say that cause then you don't feel pushy if you have to ask. Every empty table was clean though. The server cleared the plates we were no longer using, as we ate, without disturbing our meal. Atmosphere - 5 - Great lighting and seating placement. The lighting is very low but focused on the tables enough to see your food. The flow of the restaurant welcomed us to the back with plenty of room to walk through tables. The outside area (although we didn't sit there) looked beautiful, some tables had fire pits in the center. A couple decided to sit right next to us on the half booth, I was skeptical but there was actually enough room that I didn't feel my space was invaded. Service - 5 - Very friendly, welcoming, conversational and empathetic. Our server made ever little word exchange comfortable and conversational. Made sure to check with us on things and was attentive. He seemed to be happy to be there and didn't try to rush our the decisions. Also seems generally interested in conversation without being overly intruding . We tipped over 20% that should speak for itself. Put our money where our mouth is. Food - 3 - Now, this is not definite; because we ordered only one roll and miso soup, so there is plenty more on the menu to explore but the roll was sub-par. It was the Playboy roll. The ingredients were definitely fresh, however, they had the "grocery store sushi" feel about them. Seemed chilled, didn't fall apart at all when picking them up... Something about that part of struggling to keep the roll in one peice, when getting it to your mount, screams "authentic". This roll screamed refrigerated. I will say something for sure, there was too much rice on the roll. Hard to explain that, yes, all the ingredients tasted fresh and you could tell it was fresh but... Almost too fresh that it wasn't authentic. However, has the opposite effect in my review of their Miso Soup. The Miso has fresh hand cut and firm tofu. The chives were fresh cut and the soup flavor was on point. Love the taste of the Miso, this saved the food rating. Over All - 4.5 - But I will go back to try other menu items. read more

I truly had the pleasure of dining here and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. Our server, Jake, went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Not only was he attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, but he also took the time to chat with us and make us feel right at home. Took a wonderful saki bomb with us and we all cheered. The sushi itself was fresh and delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from, we got the dream boat and the sex on fire roll, I can't express how amazing the sex on fire was. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely incredible. It was clear that the chefs put a lot of care and attention into each plate. Overall, I cannot recommend this sushi restaurant enough. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was inviting, and Jake truly made our dining experience one to remember. Went in on a Tuesday night--a few tables had folks at it--ordered and it took 30 minutes before our rolls arrived. Our appetizer never showed up, which they apologized for and said we could chose a dessert. The dessert took 15 minutes to show up (it was Mochi Icecream-really 15 minutes, reallly...), complete miss for someone that will try just about anything sushi. Manager/owner seemed to have his hands full and didn't really care.. Sushi was inline with other restaurants, but service and execution leave much to be desired.. A solid meh.. They had a deal where all sushi rolls were 50% off, which sounded great at first. Unfortunately, the sushi was very disappointing. Every roll we ordered came out warm, almost as if it had just come straight out of the oven. For example, the shrimp tempura rolls--rather than making the tempura fresh and letting it cool before rolling--they just pulled the shrimp out of the oven and stuck it inside the sushi roll. To me, that's not appetizing at all. If I want hot shrimp tempura, I'll order it as a separate dish. Sushi that isn't baked should not be hot. When we tried to explain this to our server, he clearly had no idea what we were talking about. His response was, "Do you want the shrimp taken out of the roll?"--which made no sense. Service wasn't much better. We kept asking for water, and instead of simply refilling our glasses at the table, the server kept taking them away and bringing them back one by one--for a table of five. Eventually, he brought out a pitcher, but it shouldn't have taken that long. I also ordered a cream soda, but he brought a Japanese soda instead. When I asked why, he said they don't carry cream soda anymore--so why leave it on the menu? Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. Between the poorly prepared sushi and the clueless service, I definitely won't be returning. Forgot to mention the empty soy sauce bottles

My husband gets chicken katsu at different Japanese spots, and he puts Hazumi's katsu in the top 20%. He only wishes they included some katsu sauce to balance the flavors. The 9 piece assorted sashimi was a great value for the quality of fish! The salmon was the perfect level of fattiness. The Fuji and Lodi rolls were packed with different fish and textures. I think I prefer the Fuji for the little spicy kick, but I tend to wipe off some of the sauces so I can taste the fish itself more. The miso soup is a nice add on, but doesn't stand out on its own. Definitely a place we keep on a short list when we're looking for a bite.
