I enjoyed the Viking roll -- found it innovative and pretty tasty. Other rolls (Cajun, Pandora) were pretty average. My biggest gripe was the Salt & Pepper Shrimp. It wasn't that. It was tempura shrimp and it wasn't peppery (they just stuck jalapeño slices in there). It tasted fine but it's not what I ordered. I've had this dish many times at other Chinese restaurants and it refers to a specific method of cooking shrimp: lightly battered and crispy, with a strong flavor of black pepper. I had a wonderful experience with amazing food. The sushi rolls are one of the best in the area, I love how the rolls are truly made bite size as you can really taste the ingredients from the fresh sashimi, the creamy cream cheese, the smooth avocado, every bite was a good bite. My favorite roll is the Godzilla. It reminded me of my other favorite roll from Iron Fish sushi in Pflugerville called the Iron Fish roll, the crispy entire roll is fried, creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I stopped going to Iron fish because the sold it and new owners came and the Iron Fish is not the same anymore. Now, I found another restaurant that serves my favorite, Godzilla. I really liked the Philly roll, strong flavors from the cream cheese and big chunks of salmon. I found the golden river roll to be interesting from a texture standpoint. It has grilled oil on the inside and sashimi in the outside, so it has like a firm and soft texture at the same time. All the rolls were fresh, loved the rice, loved the super green avocados, and the only negative to me is the price points. I felt maybe the golden river, the dynamite, and Phoenix rolls from taste to experience could be worth $2-3 less in price to match competitors around $13-14 a roll. Found this place for a last minute lunch stop, when our planned lunch turned out to be closed for a private party. Glad we opted for this place, outstanding experience. Staff was great, very friendly and welcoming, and all orders came out efficiently. Food definitely showed care in preparation, not just in quality and taste, but also in the careful presentation. I opted for the Hot and Sour soup, which had a nice heat level, and a generous amount of ingredients. Tried to get a good picture, you could probably make a meal off the large size. Got the Spicy Ninja roll, was really tasty, with a superior blend of components to make the perfect bite. The nigiri sushi I got along with it, the Hamachi and Unagi, were very good, could probably make myself sick just eating endless plates of those. Hop Queen got Moo Goo Gai Pan, as they have a good Chinese selection to back up the sushi bar. That and her miso soup, with spring rolls, took care of her meals for the rest of the day. We found ourselves in the area so I looked up and found this place for lunch because they had lunch specials where you can get two rolls for $11 or three for $15 with soup and good bento box offers. The rolls are more simple but we were wowed by the quality of the fish and the amount of sashimi in the role. Truly the perfect fish to rice ratio! Yes the location is in a very small strip mall, casual ambience. but we went on a Tuesday night; plenty of parking available, immediate seating. it's a small restaurant but there were very few people there. and now that I've eaten there, I'm very surprised it wasn't packed full. The first thing I noticed upon entering is; the restaurant smelled very pleasant and clean, unlike a couple of other good sushi restaurants that I do not like entering. We ordered the Viking, fantasy, spicy Ninja rolls and all we're done very well. Hreat flavors and freshness. I would say most notably their fish was extremely fresh tonight. none of that slimy strong tasting stuff you get from some places. Sorry, I know totally gross! That is why the past year or so we pretty much quit going to many sushi restaurants in the area. It just wasn't worth the cost. I hate to say it; but actually H-E-B can beat some of these other sushi restaurants on certain nights. But the fish here tasted fresh like it should taste. First time here for all of us! Party of 3, Thursday at 7:15pm. Seated immediately. Service was friendly and fast. I really liked the cucumber salad, it was in a sweet vinegar sauce. The house salad with ginger dressing was fresh and had great flavor. I ordered the Philadelphia role and they added jalapeno and spicy mayo per my request! It was really good! I was initially excited to see so many 5 star reviews. But the quality was very disappointing. This place would not even be 1 star in large metropolitan areas. The quality is very poor even for Americanized sushi. The soup was bland, and definitely not made from bonito. Unagi roll hardly had any eel in it (see photo). The sushi rice was undercooked and had no vinegar in it. As a fair warning, do not trust high reviews of ethnic food in small American towns. Best sushi around! Great service! We usually go to Kyoto in Georgetown. But we went to Kyoto on a day they were closed and decided to try Misusushi. Will say Misu is better. Smaller place but the food is fresh, cold (the way raw sushi should be unless what you order is hot) and reasonably priced! Now our 1st spot is Misu. We want for my daughters' 17th bday and they were awesome. Brought everything out on this huge boat. When they found out we were there for my daughters' bday, they brought a piece of cheese cake. We went around 2 so they still had lunch special which was three rolls and a soup I think it was about 15$. We tried the California roll, crunchy roll and spicy crab roll.
