Simple yet perfect. Every dish is so well thought out with fresh organic ingredients. I ordered a French Omelette and it was so good. My husband makes the best French Omelette and this comes in second. Seriously the best omelette I've had outside of home. Not even in Paris was there better. The pumpkin bread wasn't bad but just not my favorite. The fruit on the side was so good. The array of fruits, the orange zest and hint of lime I believe were so refreshing. The raspberry jam was very lightly sweetened and was so good. This is definitely "healthy" food that's not overly salty or overly sweet but everything was seasoned well and very fresh. High quality ingredients prepared perfectly.

I went here for Sunday brunch and it was lovely. They don't take reservations so I recommend coming early. I found parking in a nearby structure. We still had to wait about 30 min for a table but it went fast since you can walk around the beach/other shops. We ordered the veggie scramble and omelette. I also had the caper potatoes. The portions were big and I really enjoyed my scramble. The caper potatoes were a tad salty but crispy. The prices are definitely more than other brunch places but they use quality ingredients. Overall, a fancy brunch place for a special occasion.

Decided to stop in while looking for a coffee shop in the area. I wasn't aware that this area was a little bit more expensive and not a casual place to get food. I went in my pajamas and a hoodie to work on school work and was met with a lot of stares. This is my fault I am from Texas and not familiar with the different LA area neighborhoods. The food was a bit pricey (again coming from Texas) and it was okay nothing too exciting. The cafe itself was cute though a bit on the smaller side and very crowded. Was not able to get any work done or even try any coffee (which was the whole purpose) but regardless cute little place.

Amazing food and great service! Cute little restaurant near the beach in the downtown. Even the toast in the simple breakfast tasted o delicious with the grill flavor. Croissant sandwich is also tasty! Impressive!

A very solid, cute breakfast place located in Manhattan beach hidden right next to the kettle. We went here on a Sunday around 9 and there was absolutely no wait, but this place can fill quickly and it is pretty tiny so plan accordingly. There are a variety of offerings ranging from yogurt to salad to omelettes to burritos. They probably have whatever you're craving. For food, I went with the breakfast burrito. It was delicious. The eggs were soft and melted in your mouth. The tater tots add that crunch and the avocado was creamy. It was perfectly blended together. They do have an extensive coffee and tea menu. I went with the chai latte. It was not overwhelmingly sweet and coated with a nice layer of cinnamon. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly. This place is a hit.

French Omelette with 2 extra eggs

I thought this place was going to be another mediocre restaurant by the beach but I was so wrong! After walking all over to find a brunch place, we decided to try this restaurant. The wait was not too bad on a Sunday morning. We waited for 30 minutes or so. Once we got our table, the server attended to us right away. The menu had a lot of great options so he gave us a couple of recommendations. I order the French omelette. Based off of the menu, the omelette did not sounds like it was a lot of food. But when they brought the food out to us, it was a spread. You basically got a bit of everything and I really liked that. The omelette with the simple salad definitely reminded me of breakfast in Europe! So simple but so good! The omelette came with some bread and fruits, which were also sublime. I was really impressed with this place and definitely would highly recommend to anyone visit Manhattan beach area.

Very cute cafe - very busy on Saturday morning so be prepared or get there early. The waiter Estevan was friendly. All of our food was amazing the French omelette delicious. You have to try the homemade jam!

Veggie scramble, breakfast burrito

Yum! Loved the veggie scramble, it was big enough to split between two! The breakfast burrito was solid too and had a really yummy sauce. My group of three only ordered 2 things and that was plenty. Sharing is the way to go. The food was a little on the expensive side but what can you do.

Chicken pistachio salad

Was welcomed in by a gracious hostess. I have been missing spending time in cafes when I lived in nyc and this transported me back for a bit. Love the decor and vibe. Food was fresh and the pistachio chicken salad is one of the best salads I've ordered out in a really long time. I would say it is a touch too pricey, $30 but the portion was pretty generous. Thé sandwiches looked great as well, have to pay extra for fries. Overall, would come back again.

Cute little cafe in Manhattan Beach. Ordered the breakfast burrito and the avocado toast. Server was very prompt, the server always filled our water glasses. Ambience- I had a table by the front window, very pleasant.

Brunch

Thank you again for accommodating our large group and last minute table request. Our server, Estevan, was incredible! He was so patient and kind to our little ones. He was tremendously accommodating to our allergies. He made our coffees flawlessly and all with a smile on his face. We felt so lucky to have him as our server/barista today and appreciated your team being part of our celebration. Thank you again and we will be back!

4/12/24 Cute little breakfast & brunch spot in manhattan beach serving up locally sourced ingredients. I love that there are fresh floral arrangements & each table had a flower in a small vase. Met up with our cumadre here for a great & tasty meal. It's a bit loud for our taste (it's loud when you have to raise your voice over the music to be able to hear each other). Hubby ordered an oat milk latte & a drip coffee for myself. His latte tasted really good, my coffee was okay, probably not something i would order again. My girlfriend ordered a simple breakfast with eggs, toast (and peach jam) & bacon, Hubby got a breakfast burrito & I ordered (sorry if I misspell it) za'avata eggs w/ salad & of course ricotta pancakes to share. Service was attentive & friendly. Our food arrived timely & everything tasted very good. My eggs had some zesty & tangy, spicy sauce over them-simple yet delicious. The potatoes with capers were pretty good as well. Hubby said it's a really good breakfast burrito, flavorful with lots of avocado & crispy bacon bits. Glad we tried this place. Parking can be atrocious but we parked in the structure about half a block away using meters. It was i think it was $2 per hour? Luckily we had tons of quarters. It's really hard to have a conversation though coz of the loudness of the place.

Breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito and yogurt.
Daniel G.

I've had the breakfast burrito, the yogurt, and the croissant breakfast sandwich. All of them are amazing. The yogurt will literally make you confused on how good it is. My friends and I have said, "I'm baffled" whenever we eat the yogurt. It's next to the beach, so it's perfect for a sunny breakfast/brunch. The waiters are all really cod and helpful. If I lived closer, I'd go much more often.

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

I really wanted to love this place. I read all the glowing…read morereviews and convinced myself the negative ones were probably just misunderstandings... but wow, I had it completely backwards. First, the restaurant itself is undeniably cute and cozy, tucked away in a corner of Hermosa Beach. Our first impression was honestly great, and we were excited to try it. Our reservation was at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived, the staff was still inside having what looked like a team huddle or group therapy session well past opening time. At first I thought maybe I got the hours wrong and they actually opened at 5:30. Nope -- 5:00 was correct. I understand pre-shift meetings happen. But maybe do the motivational speech at 4:50 instead of making customers stand outside after your posted opening time? They finally opened the doors around 5:10. Once seated, our server introduced himself by saying he was also one of the chefs, and apparently everyone dressed in white both cooks and serves. I didn't really understand the concept, but honestly, I don't care who brings the food as long as the food is good. These are what we ordered: SQUID -- This tasted like it had been marinated directly in seawater. Painfully salty. I genuinely did not understand the dish at all. Boiled squid with egg salad? Why? The portion was tiny, and we were hungry, so we basically used the mussels tart to dilute the salt enough to finish it. MUSSELS TART -- Actually delicious. No complaints here. BISTRO SALAD -- This was honestly shocking. It was SO sour that it was practically inedible. -- we literally take straight lemon shots every morning but this dish was hard to eat. This wasn't "bright acidity." This was weaponized vinegar. Bitter, aggressively sour, and tongue-numbing after one bite. We had to send it back because it was simply not edible. CABBAGE -- Flavor was good overall, but parts of it were so burnt that I genuinely questioned whether it was intentional or someone forgot it existed in the kitchen. Maybe it's culinary art I'm too uncultured to understand. FISH DIANE -- Delicious. No complaints at all. What ultimately made us decide we won't return wasn't even the inconsistent food -- it was the attitude. They still charged us for the salad we literally could not eat after sending it back. Then the couple next to us asked to keep one menu because they planned to order more later. One of the servers told them not to leave it on the table because she didn't want the menu to get dirty. The menu was a single flimsy printed paper menu. Not leather-bound. Not handmade parchment from the 1700s. Just printer paper. The whole experience felt oddly pretentious for a place serving burnt cabbage and acid salad. Some dishes were genuinely good, but the hospitality felt nonexistent and the food was wildly inconsistent. Cute restaurant, but definitely not somewhere we'd return to.

I had never walked into this establishment prior to last night because I do not drink alcohol and I thought there would be no reason. I stand corrected. Customer Service Incident- 5-19-26 Check # 72 Table 31…read more This report outlines concerns regarding a recent dining experience at Tin Roof Bistro (TRB) in Manhattan Beach. While prior visits to the restaurant have consistently met high standards of quality and service, several service and billing issues during the most recent visit resulted in dissatisfaction and concern regarding the accuracy of the final bill and tip calculation. Following a lengthy day of medical appointments and a 90-minute drive from UCLA during rush hour traffic, my wife and I decided to dine at Tin Roof Bistro rather than return home to prepare a meal. Based on previous positive experiences, we expected the same level of quality and service historically associated with the establishment. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and initially received courteous service from our waiter, Brandon. However, several issues arose throughout the course of the meal: We ordered two glasses of wine shortly after being seated. Despite the simplicity of the order, the beverages were not delivered in a timely manner. Our order included: * A Caesar salad to share * Bread service * Two entrées After an extended wait period, I reminded the waiter that the Caesar salad had not yet been served. The salad was then delivered promptly following the reminder. At the time the salad arrived, I specifically requested that the entrées not be brought out until we had finished the salad course. Despite this request, the entrées were delivered within minutes, before we had consumed more than a few bites of the salad. We asked staff to remove the entrées temporarily until we completed the appetizer course. The entrées were eventually re-served and were of good quality. Billing and Point-of-Sale Concerns The primary concern arose during the payment process. The electronic payment screen initially appeared accurate with respect to the total amount due. Based on the displayed total, I elected to leave a 20% gratuity despite the service shortcomings experienced during the meal. After requesting a printed receipt, I discovered the following: * The entrées had been entered twice on the bill. * A corresponding credit had been applied to offset the duplicate charge. * The gratuity calculation, however, appeared to be based on the inflated subtotal before the duplicate entrée credit was applied. This duplicate entry increased the apparent bill total by approximately 54%, which in turn increased the calculated tip amount accordingly. Due to fatigue at the time, I chose not to pursue the matter with management during the visit. However, I also observed a nearby table returning an order, which raises concern that similar billing or service issues may have affected other customers. Concerns and Recommendations Given the increasing public discussion surrounding questionable tipping and point-of-sale practices, this experience raises concerns regarding whether: 1. The issue resulted from an employee action, or 2. The POS system is improperly calculating gratuity suggestions based on inaccurate pre-adjustment totals. While I cannot determine whether this incident was intentional, I strongly recommend that Tin Roof Bistro review its POS system configuration and billing procedures to ensure gratuity calculations are based solely on the actual final total owed by the customer. Additionally, improved coordination between kitchen staff and servers regarding course timing would significantly improve the dining experience. This experience was disappointing, particularly because Tin Roof Bistro has historically maintained a high standard of service and consistency. Although the food quality remained good, the service delays and billing irregularities negatively impacted the overall experience. Should I choose to dine at TRB again, I will pay closer attention to the billing and gratuity calculations before completing payment.
