    French Benedict the other side
    Thiri Z.

I went for a walk along side the beach with my cousin and after she left, I decided to check out a spot for breakfast and this place did not disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was early for rhe brunch crowd so it was quiet and plenty of seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the French Benedict, ever since I discovered Brie in breakfast! It was delicious. The potatoes were amazing and so was the jam that they served with the bread. I couldn't finish it. I did have the red sangria which was refreshed and the glass of the hibiscus mimosa, which looked super pretty but I'm pretty sure it's just champagne and a flower inside of it. Service was good and again, it was earlier on a Sunday so I avoided the brunch crowd and there was a decent amount of parking.

Came on Valentine's Day, seated pretty quickly. Waitresses are super nice and food came quickly . It's been a while since we first came here and we usually just get crepes. Coffee, soup and baguette were great. I feel like the crepe was not as good as it used to be.

We were the first ones in when they opened at 8 am on Sunday. The gal working was not the most friendly. Lavender lattes were good. I wanted a matcha latte but they were out. Salmon Benedict was good. We split it along with the crêpe that had baked cinnamon apples. That was simply okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom needed attention.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd return when in the area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place to have breakfast at![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We really enjoyed our food & lattes! I would highly recommend it! The apple cinnamon crepe was delicious along with our Salmon Benedict were great!

Madrid Omelette and lavender chai latte, both so good!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I had the cutest breakfast at this charming little French restaurant and already can't wait to go back![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Madrid Omelette with cheddar cheese, avocado, sausage slices, salsa, and sour cream -- and wow. Each bite was absolutely delightful. It was paired with a creamy potato gratin, a fresh baby green salad, and a baguette served with homemade jam and butter. I completely cleaned my plate (which says everything!). I also had a lavender chai latte that was so tasty and perfectly balanced. I sat outside with my friend and my dog, and the server was so kind to bring my pup a bowl of water -- such a thoughtful touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are only about five tables outside, which made it feel cozy and relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't get a chance to see the inside, but the outdoor seating was very comfortable and charming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu!

I was walking on Pier looking for somewhere to eat and the front of this restaurant looked very inviting so I went in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the restaurant is a bit small but it is made up by the fact there is seating available outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great. Very attentive and made sure to check on me, which I appreciated. I ordered an omelet that came with some interesting and yummy potatoes and a salad. I ate every single bite on my plate. It was all delicious. The whole experience was enjoyable and I will definitely go back when I'm in the area again.

    Pasta Carbonara
    Andrew C.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute little restaurant in Hermosa Beach, about a 10 minute walk from the beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a pasta carbonara and the Veronica, which had cookies butter and toasted almonds and came with a side of vanilla ice cream. Doesn't seem like the carbonara was authentic, since it had ham and bacon, but nonetheless tasted delicious. But the star of the show was definitely their dessert crepe. I didn't want to stop eating. I also had a bite of my cousin's banana/Nutella crepe. I would come back to try their savory crepes to see how they fare compared to their sweet counterparts.

I always love crème de la crème. They have the best food. They use fresh ingredients. I love their eggs Benedict, but I also love their quiche. Their salad is the best. It's so simple but so good. It's something about that dressing and the fresh greens. I also love their jam. It's fresh jam and their little potato is really good like so good it's cheesy and perfect. I recommend a cappuccino and everybody's always pleasant there. It's just a great experience. I love Great you can never go wrong. I often go to the one in Long Beach, but this one is new and I really like this one as well.

Outdoor Seating, there are many tables!

We love this place! First, the food and presentation are excellent and delicious. The value given is spot on as well. Bruno, the owner-manager was very friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating was comfortable. I recommend the tomato soup, it comes on a plate with croutons, parmesan cheese and French bread on the side, a very nice touch. The crepes are made with Buckwheat, a healthier option; the Vendome Crepe is a winner. The Grilled Salmon salad was generous and filled with many fresh ingredients.

    Seafood crab crepe
    Lane A.

Food: I ordered the seafood savoury crepe for my main and then a sweet crepe with chocolate drizzle, banana & strawberries inside. The crepe texture was far too rubbery and thick for my liking. The thickness of the outside of the crepe took away from the overall taste of the filling which was disappointing. I enjoyed the taste of the filling though. As for the dessert crepe, again, the crepe itself was not that great. Location: Great location, as it is on pier avenue in Hermosa and a 5 minute walk to the pier / beach. There's lots of meter parking nearby! Service: Service was ok. The inside is very limited in space so not recommended for larger parties. Also, the espresso machine that they kept using was VERY loud and obnoxious. I wish they could've put that machine in the back of dimmed the sound, as I could not hear the person I was with when that machines was being used.

Alessandra has the best customer service ever !! The place gives a feeling like you went to Italy. The quiche is amazing. And most importantly, fresh squeezed orange juice!! Super delicious:)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The food, service and atmosphere were amazing!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything on the menu is delicious. You can order anything and it will be good. I recommend the orange juice and crepes!

If you want a little taste of France and a great eating experience, you will love this restaurant. The menu is extensive and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar service. The buckwheat crepes are gluten free, flavorful and light. There are many crepe choices. We ordered the Montagnarde crepe, with a delish raclette cheese and potatoes inside and prosciutto and cornichons on top. And, we ordered the Marine crepe which had fresh shrimp, seared scallops, and a white wine cream sauce. The sauce was not too rich and the seafood was delicious. Both crepes came with a lovely baby greens salad and a creamy aioli type dressing which was perfect. I can't wait to come back and try other menu specialties. We came for lunch and ate outside, however there was seating indoors or at the bar. The server was very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of street parking and during the month of December the parking meters are turned off to encourage holiday shoppers and diners. The bill was $45 for both lunches and a cappuccino with tax. A great value for the atmosphere, service and most importantly the delicious food. I will be back and I hope you give it a try as well.

I sat outdoors and listened to the sound of the water wall fountain installation. Large selection of varying French pastries and desserts that look absolutely scrumptious. This includes croissants, cookies, tarts, macaroons, cakes, pate, cheeses, quiches, brioches, etc. There was an open menu/book with pictures of the food on the counter. They offer many options. It was difficult to decide, but I finally decided and ordered an avocado toast and small latte. Because there was only one other person there, the lady behind the counter said she would find me, which she did. She delivered my drink first. Afterwards, she personally delivered my avocado toast with a side salad, served on a wooden chopping block. It all looked good. Well presented. From the first bite of my avocado toast, it was delicious because of the freshly baked bread. A nice, thick dark bread. It was piled on with freshly chopped avocados that kept falling off the bread, topped with pickled radish, tomatoes, and pine nuts. Parking: There's plenty of free, shared lot parking in the back.

After eating so many heavy meals two times a day for 4 days, wanted/needed something lighter. Started with the yogurt plate which had nice fresh fruit of apples, grapes, blackberries and bananas along with granola and honey. This was good. We also had the avocado toast - generous portions. It looked like it was one full avocado on two slices of hearty toast with green goddess dressing. Had 2 poached eggs (perfect), 2 slices of crips bacon (also perfectly crisp) and a side of fruit - this had the same as the yogurt plate but also had figs and plums!. The french omelette is traditional, delicate, simple and delicious. The side salad is quintessential French - greens with a light dressing. It also had the same side of fruit. Lovely way to start the day!

Super attentive and explained the menu well, especially since we were sharing. The bread is a must get, we got a the ceviche (super tangy and good) and french onion toast. We opted for a few small dishes to share, including: - Kanpachi ceviche (4/5) very light and refreshing. Wish there were more of the fish, though - Sugar cube melon and lemon cucumber salad (5/5) super ripe cantaloupe and plenty of zing in every bite. My favorite dish! - Hand rolled spaghetti (3.5/5) it was a pesto spaghetti dish that was very flavorful, but I wasn't blown away by the handmade spaghetti: it could've been more al dente and the sauce didn't really taste like pesto; I tasted mostly lemon. A bit overly salty, too - Smoked and 1/2 fried chicken (3.5/5) the chicken was beautiful fried, with a thin yet hardy crackling interior that I hadn't quite had before in fried chicken. Sauce was sweet in its soy sauce base, but some cuts of meat were on the dry side - Coffee toffee pudding (3/5) probably the weakest of the bunch: we waited 8-10 minutes for it (as advertised), and it came in...a mug?? Not the most beautifully-presented, and overall, I did not get a lot of the pudding inside, mostly the toppings. Given that it's $12 for otherwise a microwavable dessert, it was disappointing - Chocolate flan (5/5) now this hit the spot! Honestly, it didn't even taste like flan, but rather a very smooth cheesecake. We're glad we added it on at the last minute! Overall, plenty of punchy flavors and innovative dishes that change monthly. However, the price point ($33+) per dish for such small plates is a bit much, but I can see myself returning for special occasions (and their breakfast burritos)!

This cafe has a very beach style vibe and a menu that seems perfect for breakfast and lunch if you are in the mood for salads, baked goods, and sandwiches so that's exactly what we ordered. I kept it simple and ordered the Chicken Panini which has Marinated Chicken Breast, Melted Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Brown Mustard, and Mayo. I also got a bag of chips on the side but those were just lays so let's keep that out of the review. The food came out pretty quickly (that tends to happen with sandwiches and salads) and it was a perfectly fine panini. Even though the food was good, it didn't have any qualities that stood out, but it was solid and that's really all I can think of saying. Overall, Cafe Bonaparte is a solid little spot for sandwiches and salads.
