I tried the Pinot flight and ended up going home with a bottle, had the charcuterie board which was a perfect pairing and the live music set the right vibe. You can sit on the front patio ( where the live music happens, also good people watching), inside: small but cozy, or out on the back patio. The restaurant next door, Tin Roof, shares the back patio and there was an event happening out there the night we went, so the back patio was packed and loud, maybe check the Tin Roof calendar before planning your outing, but we wanted to listen to the music out front anyway, heat lamps on both. Speaking of Tin Roof, MB Wines seems to get a lot of Tin Roof folks waiting for their reservations or as a night cap after, so many comings and goings. Lots of foot traffic for Susie Cakes on the front patio as well, so you can take it as more good people watching opportunities or be prepared for some passer's by. Mall parking, then walk across the street, the Tin Roof event happening made it tougher than normal. Will be back on music nights, perfect mellow, enjoyable girl's night or date night spot.

They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

Resy wasn't as clear and we had booked a veranda table, which is ALC and not tasting at all. The joys of having an early reservation closer to opening. Though they said that they would need the table back by 7:15PM, at some point, this was no longer a thing...more on that later. Dinner was great. The food is thoughtful and fun. It reminded me a lot of Jeune et Jolie in Carlsbad, but more ambitious. The plating was beautiful. When the courses came to the table, you there was an element of excitement because we had a clear view of the pass and had an idea of what was coming our way. Service was tremendous. We wanted for nothing. The dishes here are presented simultaneously with graceful fanfare. Everything was effortless and warm...very much like Jeune et Jolie. The somm program here is also terrific. Really loved the wine pairings. The wines were fun and did their job to enhance the plates. Highlights: banana Negroni, clam shashlik, tomato, fish en brodo, rice & honey We had a fun evening. The experience is great. There is room for improvement. Pacing was a little out of control. We were here for 4 hours for 10 courses. They're pretty ambitious trying to push all of this out and turn the table twice during service...this clearly did not happen the night we were there. There were long lulls between courses, but our group was full of longtime friends and we had plenty to talk about and the somm team refilled our wine glasses. A few times we noticed the time in between, but it didn't impact our experience much. There is so much potential here. You know they are trying for a star. The Bib on the shelf isn't enough. If they can work on the timing bit, I think they are well on their way. Maybe also be a little more discerning and not reusing elements in the meal...a couple of times I heard reuse of significant components, but I can understand the need for a low waste kitchen. I'd be happy to revisit once the timing issue is corrected. We have to give them some time to work on this as they recently converted to tasting menu.

Literally everything we ordered exceeded out expectations. - The Falafel sliders are the most ordered item for a reason. Absolutely incredible with the perfect amount of flavor; deliciously crispy falafel and amazing buns. We ordered this dish twice! It was that damn good. - The crispy bread sounds pretty straight forward but it was also a standout. High quality bread all nice and toasty paired with this incredible olive-infused butter. - The Tunisian bruschetta almost got ordered twice as well. The tuna was phenomenal and makes for a great shared plate. I'm a sucker for any dish with an egg on it so will 100% be ordered this next time we stop in. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to order the lamb meatballs nor the tounsi brik. But I'm very eager to stop back in and give those a try. Also, major shout out to the staff. The service was absolutely incredible. CJ was our main server but literally every staff member that we interacted with was kind to our son, kind to our dog and kind to us. I let the host know that I was there for the wine tasting and he immediately set me up with a menu and a table. I decided on the "shareable flights". I then chose 2 white and 2 red wines. Didn't have a preference so I went with his recommendations or suggestions and allowed him to choose lol. The individuals who were there last night were mostly locals. Had the pleasure of meeting an older couple (Erin and Conrad Stanley) in which I ended up giving my last flight to them while we had an awesome conversation lol. Everyone was friendly and real cool. Not making me feel out of place nor uncomfortable. I also met another couple after they left. I went to the restroom, came back and a couple was standing near my table. So into his conversation, dude sat down then apologized for sitting at my table and I told him it's all good haha. Next thing you know we're all laughing and conversing haha.
