I ordered a wrap, and when it was ready the woman yelled out to me "here's your wrap" from across the restaurant. It didn't have any chips on the plate, so I asked if the wrap came with chips and she gave me a curt "no" and walked away (I assumed they didn't serve chips). As someone else was ordering a sandwich, I heard them talking about chips so I noticed on the menu that sandwiches do come with chips. So my suggestions are twofold: 1. offer chips with the wrap and 2. when a customer asks about chips, instead of saying "no" with no additional explanation, ask them if they would like chips for an additional cost, OR just give them some, because that's what good customer service looks like. read more

This is the cutest little place located in such a historic building. I discovered this cafe while working at the heritage center and it has been one of my favorite lunch spots in Springfield ever since. They focus on fair trade ingredients and everything is super fresh. Prices are pretty good, especially if you get a double which is 2 sandwiches you can split for less than $10! I hadn't been in quite a while as I live in another state but I recently went back and noticed a lot of vegan and vegetarian options added to the menu which is awesome! What a great place! I went today for lunch (alone). The atmosphere of this coffee/sandwich shop is very peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed to kill some time on a rainy morning in Springfield. You can order tea by the pot, and there are some fun selections of tea available, which is not always the case. The space is large, accommodating, and beautiful. Muffins were moist and full of flavor. You definitely get the sense that this is a cultural hub of Springfield. One tiny gripe: I love the heavy beautiful teapots, but the hotpads for the pots at the tables could use an upgrade! read more

I've been meaning to stop in here FOREVER, and this morning was a good choice. A warm, calm, peaceful spot in the middle of Springfield. No lines or crowds on this COLD Thursday morning, but I've seen it super packed on weekends, esp. when the farmer's market is up and running next door. A pretty good place to stop for coffee or a light meal between Columbus and Indianapolis. The espresso drinks are excellent, and there plenty of space to sit and comfortably relax. Cool Coffee shop. It's a local place that has an ample selection of coffee and tea creatively written on a chalkboard. There a handful of the classic sandwiches to choose from as well. You couldn't ask for a better location. Right next to the railroad tracks and it seems like there is always some local event happening on the block. Overall atmosphere is two thumbs up. Overall a very nice little coffee shop/cafe. I enjoying coming here to read while sipping on one of their bottomless coffee's. It should be noted that all of their coffee is fair trade, so you should feel good about spending your money here. Also a very cool and historic location for a coffee shop.
