Came here to grab a little snack after yoga, of course we ate healthy....except not at all. My friend had the cherry pie which she said was really good. Uncle bills dinner looks like a classic diner.  Not sure how long it has been here but the faded pink table tope make it seem like a while.  There is wrap around counter which seats a dozen.  They also had 8 booths and a few tables.   The staff was nice, but taking a relaxed pace.  This is fine, I am in no rush, but it is worth noting for others.  It seems like most of the customers are regulars.  The coffee setup was the standard packets and creamer, which I always find disappointing.  The coffee itself was pretty good.  The cups were on the small side, but the waitress did offer to fill up my thermos.  Too bad that was the last fill up I had offered.   Apparently they have biscuits and gravy but it is not on the menu!  So I may have missed out. I ordered two eggs over easy with bacon and pancakes.  This also comes with a side of American fries.  It appears to be cooked to order, which I really appreciate.  The eggs were cooked to perfection, the three peice sod bacon were nice and crispy.   Sadly the pancakes were super dry and not very fluffy.  It took 4 pats of butter and a syurup packet to get them down.  Also, I hate prepackaged syrup. read more

Nice and simple. Passed by many many times, but finally made a stop to eat here for the first time. Breakfast for dinner :) Ordered 2eggs with bacon served with hash brown shredded on the side, with 2pcs of pancakes. Friend ordered french toast 3pcs. All fresh, delicious, no unneccesary ingredients. The best part, no cheese!! Hot chocolate was great. Coffee was ok. Not much service, which is fine, i did not expect/need much service at a breakfast place. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice and ask a few times if we need anything. The chef who made our food also came out and asked if i need more coffee, very nice! Open kitchen so that you see how your food was cooked. And so that you know they are not serving you anything pre-cooked. We went in 7:30pm knowing they close at 8pm, so it was a rush meal, we didn't want to bother them so long although they never said they were closing soon. Given a four stars for this first visit. Will come back again soon and figure out if they deserve a five stars or not. read more

Had breakfast here on recent trip to Schaumburg with my wife. If we hadn't had breakfast at Gus' Diner the dy before, we might have given this one a 4 star rating but Gus' diner was comparable in price but an upgrade in food quality. Uncle Bil's captures the classic diner motif and experience very well and the food is typical in what that entails - good food, large portions, fair prices. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our breakfast and would return. read more

We've driven past Uncle Bill's for a long time and have never stopped to eat there. From the outside it doesn't look like much. For some reason we decided to go there for breakfast this morning. We're both glad we did! I had the meat lover's skillet - 2 eggs, hash browns, green pepper, onion, bacon, sausage, ham and I'm sure there was some other stuff in it too. It also came with your choice of toast, pancakes and a few other options. I took pancakes. My wife had 2 eggs, hash browns, toast. We both thought our meals were great! Good flavor and not greasy. Even the orange juice tasted better than at most restaurants! A bonus is that kitchen is right behind the counter so you can watch everything being made. We both left full and it was all for just under $20. The down side is that this is a 50's diner theme. While the 50's music was amusing for a little while, it did get a bit irritating after a while. Walked in and walked out. Our first impression was walking through the door and the lady at the counter said "table in the corner" and we assumed we were to sit there. She then came by and gruffly said "Coffee?" ...we then knew we were likely in for a bad experience. 3 ladies near us were complaining about the prices and we looked at the menu and actually agreed. 1 egg is $6.20 with some potatoes and toast... no protein. The waiter or whoever he was came by about 60 seconds after we were sat and said "Ready or still need to study for the test?". Buddy, you should worry less about being a comedian and more about having a clean restaurant, being a bit more hospitable, and giving people menus with hair on them. We paid for the coffee and left. We decided that if they didn't care to keep the restaurant clean that we would likely deal with a restaurant who doesn't care about sanitation behind the grill either. Hard pass. read more

Cute little place to grab a bite to eat. Friendly service, hot food that is served fast. Coffee isn't bad, I recommend the vegetarian omelette with Swiss cheese. Great place. I go for breakfast and usually order the chopped steak or butt steak. Both are very good. I think they add a bit of skirt steak to the chopped steak. Very good. As others have said, it's easy to drive by, but once inside it's great. I haven't had lunch or dinner there, but the food looks good. I'm guessing that they bake their own bread. I visited for the 1st time recently, had a delicious breakfast, scrambled eggs, toast, bacon. Everything was cooked to perfection, my bacon was extra crispy, not at all greasy, or too done, which hasn't been the case in other places. Loved the hash browns too! I like that they have sparkling water, which some places don't. The owner stopped by, & visited which was nice as well. He was very pleased that I liked everything! My family and I were super hungry in the morning and we stopped in this little dinner. It was breakfast time and I got a waffle and hasbrowns because I'm vegetarian. The food was actually really good quality and I didn't feel super gross after eating it. I would definitely recommend that you go there. The staff is super sweet and the inside is perfect for photography. It's super cute and gives off 70-80s vibes. I would definitely go back. Super cheep for 3 people. About 30 bucks. GO THERE! Been eating at Uncle Bills since the 90's! Excellent place, friendly staff and good food. The ranch steak wrap and navy bean soup are out of this world and Bill always comes to our table to thank us when he is there! Prices are very low compared to other places and all their dinners include soup and dessert! You can't go wrong with the rice pudding. My friend and I came here to fuel up after a run. The prices weren't bad and the food was OK. It's typical diner food, mostly breakfast and lunch type items. I went with the steak and eggs. Eggs are pretty much always eggs and the steak wasn't bad. The portions were large enough to fill me up but didn't leave me feeling grossly overstuffed. It seemed a little expensive for what it was. Never judge a book by it's cover! I have past this place a trillion times down Roselle Road and never thought twice about stepping into the lackluster building. After going in there a couple weeks back, I am thoroughly ashamed to say I judged it by the appearance and regret not going there sooner! I got a basic breakfast staple: eggs over hard, hash browns, bacon and pancakes. You know they aren't counting calories which made the food so delicious! The best part is that you see exactly what they are doing to your food if you sit at the bar. I was craving a chocolate milk which was the only thing that disappoints because I could tell it was Nesquik powder. Why would I care about that? Because there were still chunks of powder in my milk (sigh). This isn't the place to for healthy conscious people. I left feeling overwhelmed with the amount of fat and butter I ate... was out in the burbs today for work. my coworker and i, not knowing where anything was, decided to follow the biggest crowd of parked cars to a meal, and it led us to uncle bill's diner! as we're mere days into the new year, i was of course nursing ideas of healthy eating and exercising, ad nauseum. then i saw on the menu that they serve a patty melt with wedge fries, and that was the end of that! and believe me, it was definitely worth it to move my resolution start date back a day. 5 stars for great customer service, great food, and great price. outer decor leaves something to be desired, but isn't something that i think is really necessary for a diner to have 5 stars when the service was so good, and i only paid $9 for soup, sandwich, fries, and a drink all made to order. loved it! read more

located in a ghost area of strip malls, this is the only place that seems to draw business. i've lived in the area for years and have never had the guts to go in here because it looks like a total dive, but there are always so many cars on the parking lot every time i pass by, so i finally had to try last month and been back several times since then. 1960s theme diner (which was also probably the era the interior was last updated). everyone in here seems to know everyone. i was definitely the only non-white person on the times i came here but i did not feel out of place. the staff were friendly (even the cook with a mullet). the food was good, the portion was great, and the price even greater. free coffee. read more

This place is great. The food is standard, not the best, not the worst and more than fairly priced~ but what I think really makes this place awesome is the live entertainment, IE, the wait staff.
