    The bill I signed

The owner would tamper the bill and pretend to be a stranger to argue with you if you find it. After several failed try to convince me that he did it by a mistake and attacked me with insulting words. He suddenly found it's easier to admit the error and refund me. But I'm not living on the extra 4 dollars. Just want to let you guys know this isn't a good place to visit and you won't get fresh seafood from them.

Great service. Authentic Chinese experience. You'll feel like you are in china with so many unique foods.

First time in, definitely the higher end of hot pot in salt lake. Our service was great. I honestly loved it all. For those that haven't been to hot pot, you don't get to take things home so come hungry and leave feeling full but in a good way. I hadn't had lobster in years and apparently I really missed it. The whole place was also very clean. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

I like so much this Uncle Hot pot!

I like so much this Uncle Hot pot Lobster, Vancouver crab, and all kinds of seafood are my favorites

Our family went to Uncle hot pot for a birthday dinner. . . It was my husband's birthday.

We ate here for my husband's birthday. It is nice that each of us get our own hot pot to cook our food in.

Left over food that I couldn't finish including lobster, crab and fish.

Ended up wasting a lot of food on the all you can eat option. I guess go their in a group. Staff wouldn't let me take anything to go and there is no option to share what you can't finish unless you pay another $60

Vancouver crabs, lobsters, scallops, 3 types of clams, spider crab, all types of meats and vegetables.

Awesome new ALL YOU CAN EAT eat Hot Pot with many food options more than other places in Utah. Broth was a little bland but after dunking all variety of meats in the broth it became more flavorful. Try it out!!! Hope they make the broth a little bit more flavorful next time. Definitely will come back!

Such a great selection of meats, seafood, and greens!

Saw the stellar reviews on Yelp! for Uncle Hot Pot and stopped by for an amazing dinner. The restaurant is new, very clean, and the service is amazing. Our waitress was very helpful, explained each of the ingredients, and how the menu/pricing works. The food was great and we had a wonderful time - we left an hour later very full and very happy! Great spot for a date, a family meal, or a large get together. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning to Uncle Hot Pot again very soon!

The best seafood buffet you can find for a great price! I never imagine I could find such high quality and fresh seafood food in Utah. It's the best value all-you-can-eat buffet you can find. The place is new with comfortable ambience. The service is top notch and you get to meet the owner who's very passionate about offering the customers the best quality and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this place to anyone who love fresh seafood in hotpot. Uncle hotpot is my No. 1 choice for hotpot dinner.

Friday night hot pot date at Uncle Hot Pot
    Brenna S.

Uncle Hot Pot is a newer hot pot restaurant in the Marmalade neighborhood of Salt Lake. My partner and I stopped in for a Friday date night and we selected the all you can eat option for two adults. I'm more of a veggie person, while my partner eats all of the animals and critters -- he got a huge platter of seafood and some meat options, while I opted for dumplings, udon noodles, tofu, and veggies, and we ordered the spicy broth and pig bone broth. The staff came to our table frequently to check on us, clear plates, and ask us if we would like to order anything else. One of the servers noticed I wasn't eating nearly as much as my partner and made sure to check in about getting enough to eat and she let me know that there were also appetizers on the menu, which was very sweet. The food was delicious, and it was both a meal and an activity -- super fun! After we paid our bill, a staff member handed us each a little gift, which I assume is because they're a newer business, which made us feel like fancy folks! So happy to have Uncle Hot Pot in the neighborhood.

Food was not fresh. The effort made into a nice Chinese hotpot shop is low. I'd get more from a regular hotpot restaurant than this.

The appetizers come with the hot pot and there are plenty of options to munch on while your ingredients heat up. Korean fried chicken, edamame, and gyoza are my favorites. After ordering your drinks, soup base, and meats (vegetarians get a cheaper option), you can get right to the veg/seafood buffet. They have a great sauce station and a big wall of different kinds of popular ramen packs to use if desired. Once you get settled, you can keep ordering the meats you like until you get full. I like to keep a little note of what I think of each one so I remember for next time. These are my personal opinions: 1 Mr Shabu ribeye - tender lean, best 2 oyster blade muscle - meatier but only ok 3 Mr. Shabu beef kurubi eye - chewy, wavy, not good 4 Mr. Shabu pork single rib belly - fatty, bad 5 US wagyu beef round eye - tender lean, good 6 US wagyu beef clod eye - jerky striated texture, bleh 7 Mr. Shabu beef boneless short rib - oily but in a good way, little chewy, great flavor 8 Mr. Shabu pork collar butt - fatty but comes apart easy, ok 9 Mr. Shabu lamb shoulder - no Usually if I'm playing it real safe with just two, I pick 1 and 7 :) I hope you come to try all the different flavors for yourself!

The corn cheese was pretty good actually, but the korean fried chicken was hecka dense. The meat wasn't dense, but the starchy layer on the exterior was really stiff. Didn't taste like the other korean fried chickens I've had. The mushroom beef was really salty.. and the beef itself was really tough. Next, I feel like the selection here is pretty small. There's not a lot to choose from at the bar area, though I admit that I am pretty impressed by their ramyun collection. Their crabs were literally minuscle, and I find it extraneous that they serve their noodles in bits. Yeah, you read it right: bits. They cut up their noodles, probably because it is easier to pick up with the tongs. But, is it even noodles at that point? The staff was pretty lethargic today, even though it wasn't busy at all. Took me a while to get their attention for more meats. They do have some great meat, but in my opinion, it really is a hit or miss. Stray away from the meats that start with "MR. SHABU", because they're not the best. The ones I've had were too lean or sometimes tough. However, I think the cleanliness of this place is on point: shiny tables shiny counters, and dry floors.

We finally got the Melting Pot experience! Although our…read morehometown in San Diego has one, it gave us the opportunity to enjoy an interactive meal in a new location. Bridgette, our server was amazing! We looked up the menu before our reservation just to see what was served and EVERYTHING looked so good! There is a 4 Course option which is a great way to enjoy an amazing variety of the menu ( cheese fondue, salad, fondue cooking style & entree selection, & chocolate fondue). We opted for à la carte, since we wouldn't indulge the chocolate fondue. Bridgette was so patient in answering all of my questions, since it was a bit overwhelming just glancing at the menu. LOL. We picked the Fiesta cheese ( aged cheddar, Emmantelar, Sam Adams Boston Lager, house made salsa, and of course- diced jalapeño upon request!) We decided to add chopped bacon to the Fiesta. I wish this cheese was more gooey than how it was. We also got the Spinach Artichoke ( Butterkäse, fontina, Parmesan, vegetable bouillon, spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic, & Tabasco sauce). Now this was the ooey gooey cheese I was expecting to have. The Tabasco was very subtle. The cheese fondue accoutrements were Artisan bread ( French/ sourdough bread, baby carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, tortilla rounds, and my personal fave- DICED GREEN APPLES!). If you run out of any of these accoutrements, you can always get a refill! Hubby was so ecstatic over the Spinach Artichoke fondue- this gave us a reason to dupe this when we get back home! When it came time for the fondue cooking method and our entree selection- the both of us already felt defeated ( LOL ) within our second bites. We thought we could let our bellies rest a bit between breaks. We decided to cook the rest of our proteins and vegetables in our Mojo broth and call it a day! We took these back to our room and made a pit stop at Whole Foods the following day. We both got the Classic entree selection. And we're able to substitute the shrimp for other items. I went with the Wild Mushroom ravioli. And it was delicious! Mocktails are available too!
