I have to be honest, this place has really changed once they added on. The menu has become more bougie and only marginally appealing. We went for my birthday dinner. We were very happy to see that there was live music that night. Like the stars were aligned or something. We were seated right away as we had reservations...not sure if they were needed though. We all got something different on the menu from sandwiches (I got the turkey club) to one of the daily specials(a lobster caprese salad). 3 or our party got the clam chowdah and we're all of the same opinion that it was ok, not memorable. Our main dishes came and if course, my sister who got the lobster caprese salad loved hers, my mother got blacked shrimp and was less thrilled. My club sandwich was pretty meh but the fries were really good. Our server was a gem(if you have read any of my reviews you know I am AWFUL with names). She had a wicked sense of humor. Where they lose a star is the over all experience. The food is pretty pricey so you expect it to be really good. When the best you can say is "meh"...it's telling. The Yardarm is one our go-to spots for lunch and dinner. We always feel welcome since the venue is cozy without being too crowded. Service is always friendly and the selection and quality of food are consistently first-rate. On our recent visit, our server was fantastic. We were promptly seated, and given menus, including the nightly specials. Cocktails arrived promptly, along with water. Our clam chowder was awesome: creamy, chunky, and clammy - simply delicious! My wife ordered a scallop roll and I had the fried whole-clam platter special. Yum! And such huge portions! We ended up bringing home enough for another couple of meals. All simply wonderful. I mean, who would have thought that crispy potatoes, cheese, bacon, and onions could create such a masterpiece? It's not like every sports bar in America has the same ingredients. But these? These are special. The skins are perfectly crispy, almost like they were fried by the gods themselves. And the cheese? Melted to perfection, as if it was carefully monitored by a cheese whisperer. After many years of vacationing in the Orleans area, we finally decided to visit the yardarm. My cousin who lives in North Chatham always said "The Yardarm is one of his favorites". Now, we know why. The exterior is such that you could drive by many times and not notice. The interior,however, is warm and inviting. The waitstaff is experienced and efficient and permanent. We didn't see any "Summer help". So, this is where the local, year round residents dine. I was in the restaurant business for twenty five years so I am puzzeled by some of the less than five star reviews. What we found was excellent food, great service and reasonable prices. If we are able to return to the Cape, we will be back at the Yardarm. read more

My 3 friends and I got there around 6:15pm for dinner. The parking lot looked pretty full so we immediately grabbed a 4 top in the bar area thinking it might be faster service. We were very wrong about that. Our drinks took forever, we didn't get silverware with our food until we asked for it and food service was very slow. Even as we waited longer and the place cleared out, service did not get any better. The servers were kind and apologetic but that didn't really help. Had lunch at Yardarm recently, first time there since they completed renovations, they have really done a good job! They've made dining a whole lot for comfortable, the bar is completely separate from the diners by a glass partition - a great idea, plus another partition protects the diners from the constant comings and goings at the front door, where a draft would blow in and annoy you - back in the day. This is an update as I wanted to give the place another chance. Yeah, not going back. I tried. They did not. Waitresses left us and didn't come back for 20 minutes with our beers. Food was barely mediocre. Both dishes were cold, meaning, they sat in the kitchen before it got to us. Fisherman's platter, cold. Chicken cordon Bleu, sauce congealing. Dont know why people like it here. Just had a pretty fair meal, plastic glasses and all. Nachos were unlike any i ever had. Hardly any chips-wish i took a picture, you could see for your self. We are property owners on the Cape and have been coming here for decades. I actually remember when the Yardarm location was an ice cream shop. It's a fun place to have a drink and meet the locals, especially off season. Over the years the food has been hit and miss with changes of owners. We were there this spring and the food was good. Prime rib night, twice each week is always good. read more

Got takeout here and had a good experience. They jumbo wings are phenomenal and we had good service at the bar. We had our baby and they were very friendly & accommodating to her fussiness & crying while we waited.
