Decent food and chowder. Great lobster roll.. However, the worst service I've ever experienced. Vinroy told us to go find our own table and gave our table of 4 only two menus to start. Not only this, he did not bring out our food or check in on how our food was... He just simply looked at us and ignored us and we felt extremely unwelcome. I decided to give this a second chance. Dad to day that I'm still not impressed. This time my daughter and I got the cheese burger and hot dog. Cheese burger was just that, a cheese burger. The hot dog, well I think I prefer Cumberland farms. And don't even mention that the price. You basically pay for the atmosphere... Not the food. It's very cozy and homey feeling. If you just want to get out and want to be around people it's a good place to go. If you are looking for a wide variety of menu items then move on. Not a good place to bring younger kids. read more

Wings were good, but nothing outstanding chowder was good and very meaty., but that was it. Don't think that I would come back to this place went on the Cape again. Service was very good and we heard another table talking about how they didn't like one of their dishes and they removed it from the bill. Great environment for a sports fan but the food is just terrible! This spot is right on Main Street in Harwichport. It's a Boston style sports bar in a resort town. Inside the bar/restaurant is dark and cozy and air conditioned very well. Word of warning ... bring a sweater if you eat inside. However on hot, steamy Harwichport days, this is a great area to cool off and have a few draft beers and watch sports. The food is the worst. I've eaten here (reluctantly) both inside and takeout post-covid and everything I had was just not good. I had the teriyaki burger which I ordered medium rare and it was a dry, grey inside and completely tasteless, unseasoned burger. The cheese and mushrooms were also tasteless and the teriyaki was non-existent. The size was big but I only ate half because it was bland and dry. Upgraded to the zucchini fries for a couple bucks. Not remarkable but edible. The stuffed quahog was literally one of the worst things I've ever eaten. It is a running joke to our circle of friends to this day. It's a deep fried, greasy ball of bread stuffing (doesn't even come in a clam shell!) it literally looks like a wet horse turd. So unappealing but then the taste is beyond description. Peppers, sawdust and grease is how I'd say this tastes. The salads are okay ... bagged lettuce, okay dressing, no presentation. Sandwiches are just alright ... dry shaved beef. Cheese. Nothing you couldn't get at a sub shop. Best thing on the menu would be the chicken tenders which are typical Sysco type of crunchy tenders you'd find at a ballpark or football game. The chili is stewed hamburger meat swimming in grease with a bland taste. Very watery and no seasoning..Overall, it's overpriced and below average. I know it sounds like I am being overly critical but as one of the spots that stays open the latest in HWP, we've ended up eating here far too many times. It's really consistent though in terms of the food. The plus ... it's a cool local bar with lots of space for seating indoors, a few outdoor tables good for people watching and the clientele is 'interesting' local bar flies mixed in with tourists who are the 'sports bar crowd'. Bartenders can be really friendly or really crusty. But, the beer selection is good, drafts are cold and there is a lot of sports memorabilia and tvs for relaxing. Come for the atmosphere and the drinking. Stay away from the food ... the more you drink, the better it tastes. read more

Always consistent with food and cold beverages. Great atmosphere and unique clientele. Last night enjoyed (not for the first time) the pot roast stew. Chunky, tasty pieces of pot roast, potatoes and carrots, smothered in a savory gravy with a buttermilk biscuit for dipping. My son had the fried chicken, which was juicy and crispy, although we didn't detect much honey in there as advertised on the menu. Friendly servers rounded out the experience, and the bill was very reasonable. Have been going there for years and will continue. read more

The food is consistent. Stuffed Cohags are amazing. Love going there for a sporting event or to unwind after work occasionally. Now the staff is another story if I had 100 stars that's what I would give them amazing great people. Britney @ Shanese is usually the mid-day staff. Then MAX and Troy and Spyder round out the night staff. They are just all amazing in their own way. The reason the staff is the way it is is cause it all starts from the top. Gabe is just a fun great guy who appreciates his customers. So being in the business for years I highly recommend the Stove for a visit. Also, it's open year-round. Busy, busy! Nice little pub cafe that attracts families. In the heart of Harwichport. TV screens in both the lower and upper level. Sports galore. I waited for my friend at the bar. Hog Island Pale Ale on tap, plus Cape Cod Red and more. Great lobster roll on a croissant. Loaded with lobster. Steak tips were also very good. We had beers only but their own creative cocktail list looked excellent. Fun to watch bartenders make them up. We had a cape cod daily deal which had expired. Should get the face value of the deal. Nobody knew that and we were told To come back and see a manager another day. We said that was a gross inconvenience to us. We then had an employee come and curse at my husband that he was an asshole!!!!!! That in itself is insane. I spoke to manager who is a wonderful guy. At this point not about the money at all but how the customer was spoken to. Unacceptable. If you don't know the rules don't sell The cape cod daily deal. What used to be a great spot has gone completely downhill. Have been going here for several years but won't be going back. Got the burger which you to be great. What came out was a paper thin, frozen burger patty reminiscent of a Burger King burger. Sweet potato fries upcharge brought the price to 22 bucks. Great spot for a lunch with family during a rainy day. We started it Chatham but everything was too packed. Very kind service, good options for kids (hot dog and hamburger) and the nachos with various toppings were great. Booths were spacious and lots of TV's and sports memorabilia. Came to Hot Stove a few weeks back. We attended just after the dinner rush. We were seated immediately but then left sitting for a while until our waiter came to the table. He took our orders and we got our drinks and some food. I got a burger which was decent. We also had some wings and chicken nachos to share which were mediocre. Overall I'd say the food was ok, nothing more. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of service we received. I was hoping our server would have speeded things up and been more attentive and I guarantee we would have drank much more and spent more money. Unfortunately this was not the case.
