I really wanted to get some protein the night before the Hapalua, but we had a time crunch with our schedule, so I wanted something fast and found this location. I decided to get a custom salmon bowl, and since I was the only customer there, I got my dish quickly. Many of the pieces of salmon weren't completely cut, and there were sections of the fish that are typically removed before proving to a customer, since it's basically like chewing on a rubber band. The rice was also okay, but texturally it felt like it had been out for a while. I didn't end up finishing the bowl. I visited this place with my 11-year-old daughter, and unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. The space is extremely cramped, and the smell inside was awful -- either like smoke or raw fish, but it made being there really unpleasant. We placed and paid for our order, then waited for over 20 minutes, even though there was only one customer ahead of us. Meanwhile, several people who ordered after us -- some just drinks -- were served before us. The staff seemed to forget about our order entirely. I'm currently in the late stages of pregnancy, and the long wait was physically difficult for me. In most places, pregnant women are given a bit of priority or at least consideration, but that was not the case here. I came here for tea and was delighted to see they had black tea, Peach Black Tea to be exact all teas are $5.95 and .75 for a scoop of boba, I'm a tea-natic but not boba :'( so I didn't want any. Not like our usual tea shops no ice level and no no sweetener is added but the peach is a syrup so that alone is sweet and yes it was SWEET! Yikes don't know how these drink fit into the healthy menu concept. My boyfriend and I were randomly walking around International Marketplace (IMP) and noticed this new addition on the second floor in one of the corners. A poke place! Le gasp. There's a validated parking structure with the first hour free. This shop validates for parking. My boyfriend and I got the Uncle Sharkii Bowl which consisted of ahi, salmon, and shrimp with all the vegetables (ocean salad, crab salad, corn, cucumbers). There's a step-by-step order sheet with a choice of rice, salad or half/half, house spicy or mild, and what poke sauce to be mixed with. We chose the traditional rice option; didn't know how spicy their house spicy was, so we asked for it on the side so that we could add it ourselves; chose sesame mayo as our poke sauce. The bowl was beautifully made! Looked very good. The seafood is definitely frozen but the sauces made it delicious. The sesame mayo was super good. It wasn't too light nor heavy. Gave the poke a nice taste. The house special spicy sauce wasn't spicy at all! We poured the entire content in, mixing it together with the sesame mayo. YUM. The veggies were also a nice addition to balance out the flavors. The shop also sells boba which was interesting. Poke and boba... The two don't really go hand-in-hand, but it's a good business tactic LOL. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our poke bowl. It was a good amount of food and the flavor of it was delicious! The food is stored with a metal cover over it and I'm assuming in temperature controlled areas. I visited this location while in Hawaii as we have one in California, and it's always been really good when we visit it. I was disappointed that it was not as good. I ordered the same item I ordered here in California, and it was definitely not the same. The cucumbers were very thin sliced and sruck together as if they had been frozen. They were soggy and lacked the crunch. The chicken was also not as tasty. The rice is usually warned, but this one was cold. I'm not sure if it was because everything on top was frozen but definitely disappointing. The staff also seemed to just want to move the line and not go into details when other customers were asking about the bowls. They seemed annoyed to be asked questions.
