This is one of those places you can't really see from the road and just looks like another strip mall place to eat. However, that is not the case at all. I first went here with a group of friends and even though it was busy we were seated right away. Speaking of which they are always busy - however isn't that generally the mark of great food?! They have these cool upstairs dining areas that make the experience and ambiance even better. We had margaritas that were amazing followed by a meal that was full of flavor and cooked to each of our particular tastes. I have been back several times and have even ordered take out a time or 2 since. Their service was outstanding, pricing was fine,selection of food was outstanding, I ordered one of their Fahitas. Tons of great reviews but it's just a huge place with typical mediocre Tex-Mex food. I was in the mood for a quick, inexpensive lunch, and there was a wait at my usual salad bar, so I figured I'd try the tacos here. Plain ground beef in crunchy shells with shredded lettuce and cheese. ZERO seasoning. None whatsoever. Their fresh Margaritas are the best!! Fresh fruit juice and no mixer. Generous pour over an inverted half lime. So good! Food is wonderful! Menu choices to accommodate all diets. Carnitas with Green Sauce, Carnita Asada, and Huevos Rancheros are family favorites. Thin, super crisp chips. Salsa and refried beans are well seasoned. Food is consistently good from visit to visit. Servers are friendly and welcoming. Shout out to Patricia and Erickson who encourage my attempts to converse in Spanish with patience and good humor. They are the best! The reason I'm only giving 2 stars is because I hate when someone tries getting over on me. I order the Titos Enchiladas which the menu described as having Shrimp and imitation crab meat. After eating one Enchilada I noticed something missing so I opened the other two and found that they only contained imitation crab meat, zero shrimp. When I brought it to the waiters attention he gave me a B.S. story about the shrimp being mixed in there, sounded like a story that they've told before. We used to order from here a lot, but stopped when the food started getting pretty bland, we delved in again hoping things had changed based on the outstanding reviews. I got Fajita's Tejanas or Texas Fajita's, a mix of steak, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was great, the steak would have made a wonderful boot or shoe and the chicken, well, it was strips of white stuff. Absolutely no seasoning whatsoever, it was quite a let down. Canned refried beans didn't help, the rice was flavorless as well. We also got a enchilada that had an oven accident, it was so hard it was inedible, the soft taco and tostada were equally tasteless. I really really suspect they just forgot to complete the cooking and seasoning. We tossed the chips, again, tasteless, no salt and stale. I'm so sad, this place used to be great, not sure if COVID has affected it, but it's gone too far down to try again. As a PS, we were going to try the Mogadore location, but the number listed did not ring through, said it was disconnected. So many red flags, I'm sure we're in the minority, but so be it. read more

Stopped in to order a to-go meal on Sat., April 29th. Nobody was at the front desk but eventually a young lady came out. Not the greatest welcome from her. She was too busy writing or texting something. May have been business, but I was standing right there with questions, as I had never eaten there before. Asked her for a to-go menu...no, they don't have them. Asked her for a regular menu then. It was greasy and dirty. (You need to clean your menus. It's gross.) Decided on two soft chicken taco supremes and an order of beans. I asked if they include some chips and salsa, which they do. The salsa was in a tiny souffle cup (the size that Taco Bell puts your side of jalapenos in), which a chip would never fit in if you wanted to dip it. It was more like a sample taste. Never have I seen a restaurant so cheap as to not give you, at least, a 4 ounce to go container for the salsa. I mean, if I were dining in, I believe you would have been much more generous with the salsa, right?? The tacos were wrapped in a bundle that looked unappealing...maybe you could wrap them individually instead of wrapping them smashed together in a wad of two. Anyway, they looked pretty small so I told the girl I would pay the difference and get an additional taco. After trying the food, here are my thoughts. The shredded chicken was WAY too salty. (I'm used to El Rincon's and their shredded chicken is so tasty without being salty. Cooked with onion and green pepper throughout and it's delicious.) I expected to get some cheese on the tacos, too, and did not see any evidence of it. The beans were okay...nothing special, but edible. The salsa (what little I had to taste) was just okay, but nothing I'd ever crave like I do salsas made at a couple other Mexican restaurants in the area. I used to read good things about the food here, but never had come in to try it. So, based on this meal and experience, I don't believe I need to try it again. I'm definitely a fan of this place. When I worked nearby I'd go quite often and even now when I'm in town it is a good option. The complimentary chips and salsa are top notch and they will keep refilling them for you. We would typically get the Queso Blanco which is delicious. I've had everything from enchilada dishes to burritos, chimichangas, taco salad and just tacos all carte. Everything has been delicious. I think my favorites are from the chipotle line of dishes. They have enchiladas and burritos swimming in a tasty chipotle sauce. Most dishes come with refried beans and rice but I'm sure you could swap that out for a guacamole salad (which is also great). I've generally gone for lunch which isn't busy at all. They always have a lunch special and a typical Mexican joint lunch menu available. The service has always been great with no problems. The food comes out super quick after ordering. I'm talking like 5 minutes or so. They don't mess around. The prices are very reasonable for the portions you get. If I could say anything negative, they just assume I am picking up the bill if I am with a girl. I don't mind but a few times the girl I was with felt offended. No biggie though. The food makes up for it! It's located in the Gala Commons plaza right off of 224 so it is easily accessible. The parking lot is paved and a good size so there should be no problem getting in or out. I'd say if you are around the Lakemore/Springfield area, you can't go wrong here if you are in the mood for Mexican. read more

Stopped in with some friends last Saturday night. None of us had been there before so we had no idea what to expect. Previous Yelpers gave it mixed reviews, mostly based on service. I now understand why. After sitting down, two of us ordered the queso cheese dip for $2.50. It was delivered from the kitchen almost immediately. Unfortunately, we were left to sit there without chips for dipping. A skin had formed on top of the dip when the chips and salsa finally arrived. The dip was very good, as was the salsa, which had a nice distinct tomatoey taste, was slightly sweet, and quite delicious. I had the Enchiladas Rancheros, three cheese enchiladas covered with shredded pork, vegetables and sauce for $8.99. Very enjoyable. As good as any other place I've eaten at. And more than enough that I took some home for Sunday lunch. Now for the negatives. They have Belly there, so after checking in I noticed I had enough points to get the queso dip for free. When the check arrived I told the waitress. She took the bill, my money and my Belly card. When she returned I saw there was still a $2.00 charge on the bill. So I asked the hostess why? She checked and reported I had the wrong bill, it belonged to someone else at the table (there were only three of us) and the $2.00 charge was actually for a soda. ????? Well, when I originally received my bill there was a $2.50 charge on it and I did not have a soda, so how the bills became crossed is anyone's guess, but I suspect it was the waitress's doing. And if she suspected I hadn't ordered the dip, why didn't she come back to inquire about the mix-up? The restaurant was not at all crowded for a Saturday, which was surprising. Even so, the noise level seemed very loud. The hard-surfaced walls do nothing to absorb the sound. A group upstairs was extra loud, their voices echoing throughout the room. So, while I think the food deserves five stars I have to take one away based on the service. Delivering dip without chips is not acceptable. Most places have chips at the ready when you sit down. And there should NEVER be a problem with the bill. That will always be a big negative in my book. If you offer something for free then you had better follow through. read more

Uncle Titos has an enormous menu. They have that going for them. I wanted to order something unique but then how would I judge them against every other Tres Pot or El Campesino of northeast Ohio. So I ordered my staple - and it was just as OK as most other fast food type place that serves "traditional" mexican dishes. Maybe next time I'll try one of the "specials" and update this review. Very good Mexican food authentic. Very nice staff. While everything was delicious for the most part, I did not enjoy the fish tacos and the staff did their utmost to make it up to me. Small touches would improve ambiance, (for instance, the were still price tags hang off some of the decor) but everything else was stellar. Highly recommend. I have eaten here many times, around lunch time and we are always in and out in 45 minutes. The menu says that certain items may take at least 15 minutes to prepare, but I have never waited that long. The service is super nice as well. If I could negative 25 stars I would.. I have never NEVER been at a restaurant where we had to wait 20 +minutes for drinks. We ordered queso with chorizo.. it didn't come. Apparently they ran out of sausage. . We waited 20 plus minutes for drinks that never showed up. FINALLY they brought our drinks.. well some of the parties.. we ordered 3 pitchers of margaritas and they came back stating they "ran out of pitchers". We sat there for another 30 minutes. NO SILVERWARE, NO NAPKINS, NO ANYTHING. I ended up ordering nothing because let's be honest, I wouldn't have gotten anything anyways... We had a large group of people. Our waiter was excellent. As for the food, I thought it was average. My Chile Poblano was odd, I thought. Typically, Chile Poblano is a poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, dipped in egg white batter, and deep fried. Instead, my poblano pepper stuffed with cheese was wrapped in a large flat omelet.
