Uncle Tony's backyard barbecue, this place came highly recommended by one of my team members, small family run barbecue with a soul food vibe, walked in around 1:30 PM great 80s R&B playing in the background, greeted warmly by the entire staff at the counter welcoming us in, two tables in the dining room as we approach the counter, young lady asking us if this was our first time thoroughly going over the menu and seating us promptly and taking a drink order, drinks, arriving in two minutes, taking our order immediately, I decided to go with the brisket, Philly cheesesteak, the wife, two piece chicken, special with sautéed cabbage and beans, some fresh tots and smoked sausage, food arriving in 10 minutes, everything looking fantastic! Flavors hitting all over the place! Hot fresh delicious! the pictures will speak for themselves, very basic presentation but fantastic flavors all the way around, young lady behind the counter even came out to check on the food quality! Stopped in at Tonys Backyard BBQ for lunch today. I was surprised how good the food tasted and the service was great. I met the owners Tony and his wife LaShunda who makes the ribs and all the side favorites, Mac & cheese, collards, sweet potatoes, cornbread and a host of other delicious mouth watering sides. Oh, I forgot to mention desserts are also available. (See menu). What makes the ribs tasty is the different sauces you can put on your ribs and they are smoked to perfection. I got the brisket lunch special I picked the Mac & Cheese & Mashed Potatoes as my side. Everything was SOOO delicious. I used the sweet bbq and tangy bbq on the sandwich and it's was amazing. Most tender brisket I've ever had. What was better than the food was the exceptional customer service. They greeted me when I walked in. Greeted every single customer as well. With such a high average rating I had to uber here on my way to the airport to check it out. Uncle Tony does not disappoint. Super friendly and helpful service. I got the 2 meat and 2 side combo. St. Louis ribs and brisket. Baked beans and potato salad. I also added pulled pork just to try after the server said it was her favorite. These were some of the meatiest ribs I've ever had. I also took a photo after a bite to show these were cooked perfectly. Very moist and tender. Perfect amount of smoke. Great bark and smoke on the brisket. I also added a single photo of the brisket. You can clearly see how juicy it is. So tender I pulled it apart with a fork. Excellent smoke and flavor. Pulled pork followed suit with the other 2 meats. Great bark, smoke and flavor. I thought I would just try the pulled pork. And I ate it all. Baked beans were flavorful and smoky. Potato salad had a sweet zing to it. And it was great as a side. I tried 4 sauces. Mild, hot, super hot and mustard. All of their sauces are thin. Which I prefer because it allows the bbq and smoke to shine through. While complimenting the meat. All are excellent. There's a spice used in all of them I can't put my finger on. I asked if they sell their sauce online. I'd buy this all the time if they did. We came to Orlando for vacation and promised to find some BBQ. We came across a few options but decided to go to Uncle Tony's. When we arrived, we were greeted like family. Almost as if they were expecting us. The hospitality alone made us want to eat there. We're back! Brought most of the family to experience the best BBQ in Orlando. And Uncle Tony didn't disappoint, with everyone cleaning their steel trays spotless. We were so excited to come back. As before, the food was amazing and everyone left stuffed. A surprise item was the Brisket Philly, which my wife devoured. This time we also forced in dessert and had the banana puddin'. Was very rich and satisfying. The staff was as friendly as before and Uncle Tony came back after leaving earlier so that we could continue what has now become our traditional shot. We were lucky to come in just as a few tables were leaving so we could all sit together, but after we sat down the line of customers continued to grow. I'm not sure if they need a second location or if they need a larger spot, but we are sooooooo happy for their success. We look forward to returning soon. Oh My Gravy We went to Uncle Tony's for the first time and it was a great experience. I'm not going to tell you that this is the best BBQ you're ever going to eat, but I'll tell you that the BBQ in Orlando is (generally speaking) pathetic and Tony is killing it. We loved it. Tony was there and we chatted him up. The food was delicious. The sides were exactly what we wanted. All said and done, it was a 5 star experience for us. They have a small location, but it's very clean and very well laid out. They've maximized their space and their staff knows exactly how to help you pick the best items for you. We had brisket, St Louis ribs, pulled pork, and pulled chicken. We tried all the sauces and the 3 best for us were (in order) tangy, sweet, and sweet mustard. I didn't care for the 2 hot ones. The sweet mustard was ok. The meat was SPOT ON and all the way to the bone in flavor. Like I said, you're going to say some shop in your home town 2,000 miles away is better, but I'm going to say in central Florida I have not had anything close to this good in a decade or more. We tried the beans, the collards, the Mac & cheese, the corn bread, and the garlic bread. All good. The collards were cooked perfectly. The Mac & cheese was way better than expected. If you haven't been here you must go. This is the best barbecue I've had since moving to Florida. It is a mom and pop owned restaurant. She is very friendly. I loved talking with the owner. She makes you feel "at home" to say. She makes sure you have everything you need and that you like your food. Her husband is the one who smokes the meat every night. Their kids help out too. It's a great place to eat. People walk in and she knows them by name. To me that's great service and personable. Once they run out of something you are out of luck. Walk in and head to the counter to place your order. Take a seat and they will bring it to you. The workers are super friendly and helpful. Food was ready fairly quickly. We ordered the lunch special. Pulled pork with baked beans and Mac n cheese and brisket with tater tots and coleslaw slaw and added corn bread and banana pudding. Tots were outstanding, crispy and well.seasoned, beans were delicious, cole slaw was good, Mac n cheese needed some salt and pepper but it was cheesy ! Would have liked some honey or butter for the corn bread but it was light and really good. The meat was.well done and you could add your own BBQ sauce. They had about 6 different types to choose from. We tried the sweet and the tangy, they were both very tasty. Banana pudding was good but nothing special. This is a smallish place in a strip mall but it was clean. I just wish the chairs were a little more comfy for my ample bottom LOL A good place for BBQ. I'm writing this as quickly and cogently as possible before the meat sleep takes me on my couch. Came here on a Saturday to try their beef rib and brisket. Just fyi their Beef rib is only available Friday and Saturday. The wife was kind enough to save one for me when I called ahead so if you're on the hunt I recommend you calling beforehand! Store is in a small strip mall I've taken a few photos for reference. Beef rib was juicy, tender and well seasoned. Very happy and full with it. Was also very very reasonably priced at $30. I also got one side of tatertots and sliced brisket. Tatertots were nicely seasoned and crisp using fresh oil. Brisket was also fantastic. Well barbecued and extremely tender. Meaty ribs, so tender brisket I could cut with a plastic fork but not mushy, and great flavor and sauces. The food here is soooo good!! I am in town for only a few days and was looking for something delicious to eat after I landed at mco. I really lucked up. The place smelled of sweet smoke from outside. When I walked in the place was so clean, I thought that they had just opened. The woman at the register was so kind and knowledgeable. She said the ribs and brisket were very popular and that her favorite side was the potato salad. I ordered just that and their sautéed cabbage. The brisket was so tender it fell apart by barely being chewed. The ribs stayed on the bone perfectly when bitten and the smoke rings on both were pretty significant. As she said, the potato salad is delicious. It has a lot of relish, but I like it a bit sweet so it didn't bother me at all. The cabbage was cooked simply but had great flavor. This place feels like it is family owned and they care deeply about every detail. I plan on picking some up on my way back home to CA to take to my husband because it was that good. Jacari is the perfect fit to be the first face and person to interact with you while taking your order or payment. The food came out quickly and I was pleased with how delicious and flavorful it was. The chicken and brisket were juicy and tender, which blew my mind being that we arrived after 6pm. Mac and cheese was the real deal, no box and baked beans were great containing brisket only and no pork. Highly recommend the collard greens with smoked as well. Wow! How have I not been here before?? I've heard great things about Uncle Tony's, and it took me way too long to try it for myself. Don't make the same mistake! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and walked through how to order. I visited with my husband, two young kids and their grandparents. It is a very kid-friendly atmosphere. Shortly after we arrived, Uncle Tony himself came out and greeted us. He asked if my boys could have a capri sun and took great joy in giving them each a pouch. My kids were at this point ecstatic and my four year old asked for a hug to say thank you. Uncle Tony and my son bonded and it was so cute. Made the whole experience. And we aren't even to the food! Now, the food. Exquisite! We tried a little bit of everything. We especially loved the ribs, the brisket, the sausage, the fried cabbage, the greens and the mac n cheese. And the fries.
