The ribeye is by far the best protein but the chicken was a really awesome positive surprise. We also got the Sebastian's mixed plate. Best Hawaiian spot in HarCo! The executive chef/co owner is gracious and down to earth. Their drinks here are delicious and you are acknowledged promptly . Came for restaurant week lunch time, first time visit. Very clean establishment including the bathrooms very spacious. The outside looks so good can't wait to come back when it's warmer to try out the deck and more bites/ dinks. I started with the Lemon Basil Donkey suggestion from my server (Manderella) highly recommend this one, I also tried the sunshine and flowers which was really pretty and strong. The Kalua pork lumpia had a great crunch and the sauce compliments it well. This was my third time eating here but my first review. The outside tiki bar makes me feel like I am not in a strip mall parking lot. I love how it feels to sit at the bar. I could sit there, watch a game and have some drinks - happily. Passion Fruit Sangria - FABULOUS - not too sweet and very delicious. Kalua Pig Lumpia - we had this as an appetizer. It was just ok. We did not love the sauce it was served with. It came out smoking hot (which I appreciate). Mix Plate - it was basic. It lacked flavor. This is my biggest complaint with their food. It's just kinda of plain. It all tastes like it's missing something. Chicken Katsuwich - This was interesting. It had a lot of things mixed together that I would not have thought to mix. The fried egg on top of the chicken was surprisingly good. The chicken itself was a very thin, very crisp patty. This restaurant has a very interesting menu and the smells coming out of the place are mouthwatering. They have a cool outside area with tiki bar. Loved the walls that come down in case of poor weather which we encountered during dinner. The server was very nice. Unfortunately I was a little underwhelmed with the food. We got a few appetizers to share including the spam musubi (which was delicious), kalua pig lumpia (I did not like the taste or texture of this. My friend said it was better with the red chili sauce). The crispy Brussels sprouts (which I was hoping to love but the soy sauce made it overwhelmingly salty!) and the wings (which were standard). My friends and I decided to meet here for lunch one day :) We were excited to try this place since there isn't many Hawaiian restaurants in the area. We started with cream of crab soup and spam musabi appetizer. The crab soup was good but way too salty! I couldn't even finish it because it got saltier as I was eating it. It also came out root temperature (not even lukewarm). The spam appetizer was really good. 10/10 on that appetizer. For lunch entrees we each got different platters. I got auntie platter I believe which came with teriyaki beef, shoyu chicken, shrimp, veggies, rice and Mac salad. Didn't care for the Mac salad, the veggies were good but mostly bean sprouts? I wish there were more broccoli or snap peas. The chicken was prob the best protein on the plate. The steak was alittle rough and there was only two pieces of shrimp! Overall meal was okay. Aunty's mix plate is perfect because it comes with so many different items on one plate and the portion is hefty! Teriyaki beef had good flavor, but it was my least favorite. The hard sear marks left a slightly bitter taste and the lean meat was a bit dry and chewy. We had such a great birthday dinner here! We started with drinks at the tiki bar (which is so cool outside even during off-weather they have awesome retractable sides)! We tried what felt like one of everything here. The definite favorite was the firecracker chicken appetizer. The crispy spam misubi was also a top choice. We tried all these apps and then split the giant kahlua pork with rice cake and mac n cheese plate. We also tried some shooter drinks and Mai tais and had an amazing time! It's been nearly 3 years since our last visit. I have been telling people to come try them out. On 4.24.21 we decided to patronize here for lunch. They provided indoor and outdoor seating, but we decided on the indoor seating. The tables were spread out for social distancing. Our server came with menus and asked what we wanted to drink, we asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. We picked the Hawaiian suns; I had the pineapple-orange (recommended by our server) and hubby had the Guava. After glancing the menu, hubby ordered the pulled pork rolls and for his entree one of the mixed plates. I had the Shrimp Tacos w/ a reg side Caesar salad. The appetizer was fried perfectly and served on a plate of red cabbage and a side of duck sauce. The shrimp taco was well seasoned and spicy, just tp warn those like me who can't handle the heat, but will say they were good even dipped in the duck sauce. The salad was okay, will ask for extra dressing on the side . The drinks were good, that we even looked them up where to purchase. The mac salad could've used some seasoning. The only reason for the making it a 5 star, was no paper towels in the ladies room. Even though I keep hand wipes and used the toilet tissue, no patron should have to go and ask for it. read more

The downside of this dish was the shrimp which were too well done and the green beans - bland. Maybe they were missing some sea salt. I'm not a huge fan of plain ole sticky rice either. Desserts: Kanak tiny very dense bread pudding bites served with a generous amount of coconut ice cream with caramel and yummy nuts. This was good, liked the nuts, the bread but the ice cream didn't taste coconutty or maybe the caramel overpowered the flavor. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time but since it is truly out of the way over never had an opportunity... until today. We both ordered poke bowls and were slightly disappointed in the portion size (not a good value). While the fish tasted fresh, the volume of food was poor. We were both glad we added 2 scoops of sticky rice (extra $2) because we would've been very hungry without. It literally came with a scoop of fish and a container of fried wonton skins. The filling was gross and dry, they were not one bit crispy, and the sauces were all wrong. The poke bowl was not even a poke bowl, and had way less fish than expected. Met a friend for lunch at the Tiki bar today. First the good... atmosphere was very cool and a nice setup. Beer was cold and tasty although at $8 a draft a bit expensive. Food however was definitely inconsistent. I had the Brothers burger which although very sticky to eat from the sauce tasted good. Unfortunately not so for my fries. They were not just well done but half of them literally inedible. I pointed this out to the bartender and he apologized but made to effort to replace them or offer any type of compensation. The Kalima Pig Lumpia egg rolls were very good though. Nice portion and very tasty. Not so good were the Pipeline potstickers. We did the drive from baltimore to visit here for first time. My wife and i are from hawaii and i used to work at rainbow drive in (hawaii local plate lunch place) so we are very accustomed to local food in hawaii. The ambience was fantastic. Very large restaurant with ample seating and distance from other tables. The background music was great and the hawaiian artwork really reminded me of home. Food: honestly the best thing was the ahi nachos that we had. The loco moco was not the best i had, gravy was curdled and looked rich but lacked flavor unfortunately. The burger was okay. This did not taste like a typical loco moco you would get from a plate lunch place in hawaii, but i understand this is suppose to be fusion. Auntys plate was alright, chicken katsu was the best thing on the plate. The katsu would have tasted better with regular katsu sauce instead of tonkatsu sauce. Kalua pig was red so that was a little off but tasted okay. Mac salad was terrible, macaroni was hard and i did not taste the mayo that normally would have been in mac salad back home. Overall the food was quick, place was clean, and you pay for the environment and experience. This place used to be my favorite restaurant but I feel like over the last year it has been declining. They changed the menu and took off a lot of the good items such as turtle bay pasta and shoyu chicken. The food is still very good and tasty, fresh ingredients. Unique entrees and good drinks. The service is good, but the ambiance is getting really poor. The floors are sticky, the tables and chairs are sticky, and the bathrooms are absolutely atrocious. Literally puddle of pee in the men's bathroom. The smell is horrendous in women's bathrooms, TP everywhere, dirt in the corners. Very unclean, and unsettling to see right before eating a $100+ meal for two. read more

Four stars for the fact that there is even a Hawaiian restaurant that serves mix plates and hawaiian classics in Maryland. For that reason, I never want them to close but I can't say my experience was 4 stars unfortunately. Overall, I won't be begging my hubs to get back here anytime soon but I definitely am happy that there is somewhere in Maryland that people can experience the real food of Hawaii. I have been eagerly anticipating my meal from here for a couple weeks now, but coming here had to be planned and convenient as it's almost an hour away. The restaurant is located in a tiny strip mall about 1000 feet behind the main road, without GPS it would definitely be hard to find. I do wish that it would be located closer to me so I could go more often. We started with drinks, I got the coconut porter from the maui brewing company and he got the draft of the maui brewing company. I wish that the menu actually showed what was on draft or there was a smaller physical drink menu that may get changed as the drafts rotate out. The coconut porter was cheap for a can...only $5 and tasted delicious. Very light for a porter, perfect for a weeknight lol. Not sure of what the draft was called but it was way more hoppy than anything we would of ever choose. For appetizers we ordered spam musubi, kalua pig lumpia, egg roll boat and loco moco fries. I really liked the sauce for the spam musubi. The spam was cooked perfectly but the rice at the bottom was hard as if it was older , which completely turned me off. When I had gotten the musubi as take out last time it was delicious and perfectly cooked. The kalua pig lumpia and the egg rolls were alright. They were overtly greasy, it felt like I was biting into grease. The kalua pig lumpia was on the soggier side since they put the sauce drizzled over the top. The loco moco fries were also not really my favorite but I guess I should of stuck to the original dish. For dinner we got the uncles mix plate with Kalua pig and the Katsu Chicken and Waffles. The dinners were delicious!! I loved the kalua pig, tasted just like what I grew up on and the shoyu chicken was spot on. The teriyaki beef was a little tough but oh well everything else was impeccable. Lastly was the malasadas for dessert and unfortunately, they were terrible. The waitress had came out and said they were having issues with the fryer so we have ultimately chalked up the deep fried donuts as a fryer issue. Go during happy hour!! My friend and I came for HH and they had some great specials-- $3 off apps and $2 off drinks. I started with some house wine and my friend had a delicious guavatini. We started with the spam musubi and firecracker chicken. The firecracker chicken is just like Bonefish's bang-bang shrimp (except chicken obviously) The spam musubi was good as well! I also ordered the Goo's Mango Pork. It was kalua pork sandwich with mango salsa on top. The pork was moist and perfect and the mango salsa added a nice freshness. The bartender was very attentive and came by to check on us often. By the time we left, the restaurant was starting to fill up. It's a popular place. I saw that many had tried the Spam Musubi so we ordered them for starter. Presentation was great. That said it fell short as the meat was bland even when using the sauce in the plate. Didn't taste any Teriyaki. I was expecting it also to be salty/savory. For main, we ordered the Keikos Noodles and Shrimp Shack Skewer. The Noodles were okay. Again, I was expecting more robust flavors & the Portuguese sausage which I was looking forward to was hardly noticeable in the dish. Shrimp dish was okay also. Overall, I was expecting some punch in the flavor of the meat/veggies but it just wasn't there. Maybe it was an off lunch. Service was very good. Finally managed to get back here and visited the tiki bar this time. Wish we could've upgraded our review but unfortunately this was a downgrade. Everything started great...we were greeted pleasantly and our initial drink our taken right away. We waited until the rest of our party arrived before placing an order for an appetizer. Strangely, the server only brought two sets of utensils even though there were three of us. We had to ask the food runner when the appetizer was delivered for another set...and plates for our shared appetizer. We ordered the nachos appetizer with the kalua pig for the second time. We found a lot of things going on with the dish but not a lot of flavor. Strangely, there was a plethora of meat but VERY few wonton chips. What a strange issue to have with nachos. We placed our food order just after the appetizer was delivered. When we were done with the nachos, the server removed the soiled plates and we waited for our entrees. And waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually, the female bartender came over and offered another round of drinks. We agreed, but asked about our food. She said she was sure they were working on it. We then saw her converse with the male bartender (who had taken our order), saw him look over at us and then address the POS system. Obviously, he had never entered the order. They brought two of our drinks right away and said the third would be over shortly. We observed both bartenders engaged in other tasks but the third beverage did not arrive. Finally, after more than an hour, our entrees arrive. No one remarked about the forgotten order or apologized...they were just served as if we had not been waiting. And our third drink STILL had not been served. It did arrive a few minutes after the entrees were served though. We all really enjoyed the entrees. The mussels had great flavor but the portion was small given the price. The loco moco was delish. We would avoid the Bloody Mary's next time...just tomato juice with a shot of vodka. Note to staff: We'd have more respect for you if you were upfront and just admitted that you screwed up and forgot to enter the order. Don't BS us and tell us that the manager is battling in the kitchen to get our orders out to us. We can see others who ordered after us enjoying their food. We're not fools. Be honest and own your errors. As it was, the server never copped to it. This place has potential but there are obvious kinks that have yet to be addressed. The food i ordered was very good i wont denybthat. The scallops and shrimp were perfectly cook i had the seafood pasta with a parmesan coconut cream sauce that inwould have not ever paired together The downside. I felt the portion was lunch sized. 38.00 for a bowl of pasta ice tea and 20 percent gratuity....because i was with a group. Im not complaining about the tip being added in. Restaurants like to make sure their servers are compensated adequately since q group takes more effort. Not worth the money. The menu describes this dish as follows: "Sauteed shrimp and jumbo lump crab atop japanese ramen noodle, with Asian stir fry veggies in sweet and spicy gochujang pineapple marinara, crispy garlic. 23.5" And what's with the "j" in "japanese" not being capitalized in the description in the menu? Are they making a statement here? As you can see in the photos, there is nothing about it resembles a "ramen." If anything, this was a spaghetti with shrimp and crab. The presentation looks nice. But it's definitely not close to what I had expected after ordering a "ramen." This is the most expensive ramen I've ever had ($23.50). Not worth it. Check out the rice ball. It looks like someone took a bite of it before it was delivered to me. The Kalua Pig was tasty. But it didn't look like any lumpia I've ever made or seen. They put a sauce over it, so I really couldn't eat it with my hands. I guess they make food their own way. So don't expect to get anything traditional. I've gotten take-out a few times now and ordered the Loco Moco, Uncle's Mix Plate, and Kalua Pig. Having grown up with Hawaiian food on the west coast, the flavors here were disappointing. Everything was just a bit bland, leaving me unsatisfied.
