Cocktail number one

After a long workday I wanted a nice cocktail and fried rice. This place hit the spot! Good food and drinks. Customer service was top tier. The bartender gave good recommendations. She was friendly and welcoming. The lighting kinda dim but I guess it works for the restaurant cozy vibes.

New spot, same nostalgic vibes! Kabuto's newest location in Parkville, MD is giving all the classic Japanese hibachi vibes we know and love from their original Route 40 location. I had the Steak & Lobster and it did not disappoint. Each hibachi comes with an appetizer--steamed clams, chicken teriyaki lettuce wraps, or BBQ ribs. If you're like me, you'd get all three! Sushi, the Lobster Dragon Roll is a must-try (lobster tempura, topped with sliced avocado & drizzled in eel sauce) Family-friendly alert: Kids eat FREE with the purchase of an adult hibachi entrée! * East Norriton: Every Tuesday & Wednesday * Rockville: Every Tuesday & Wednesday * Parkville: Every Monday & Wednesday * Rosedale: Every Tuesday (Kids 10 & under) 8810 Waltham Woods Rd, Parkville, MD 21234 If you're looking for good food + vibes, and a little nostalgia, this is your newest go-to spot in Baltimore County! This is a great spot for happy hour. Trina is a great bartender! The food is good and it's a good vibe! Definitely one of my favorite spots to just hang with friends!

My cousin and I stopped in for happy hour after work. I got a pearl river roll, the shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer, and a blue moon. Our server was Trina and she was wonderful! Our food and drinks were good. The only problem for me was it was very humid inside to the point there was condensation on the floor which made it slippery. Other than that I would return:)

Thank you Kabuto! This lunch hit the spot on such a rainy day. I even got an extra roll for free.. to my delight! Great, prompt service at the bar takeaway area. Very nice sturdy packaging for takeaways. Coming back!

After a day of shopping in the heat, this was exactly what we needed. Inside this unassuming joint you'll find a hip hibachi grill and sushi bar. When you walk in you'll decide if you want to get hibachi or not, and go from there. We didn't, but from the cheers from the hibachi grill, it seems like a great time! We had amazing service the entire time, and the food was pretty darn good! The crab Rangoon was so freaking DELICIOUS. Definitely splurge the 7$ and snag one. The edamame wasn't overly salty like other can get. And the sushi platter was great, it was the perfect amount for 2 hungry adults to split. We're big raw fish people and I was impressed with the quality of the fish!

First time here. In to celebrate a family member's birthday. If you're planning to dine here, make reservations. The staff are polite. We had a a 5-10 minute wait. Allen, our server, was good. Our Chef, Wan, was great. There were 2 birthdays at our table and at least one at each of the others. The food was delicious! Our party of 5 all had the hibachi chicken. I'm not a fan of the noodles. It was a wonderful evening. The family we shared the table with was friendly and it was the wife/mom's birthday. My only issue is my change not being returned even though my intent was to say keep it. Don't assume. Ask. Not cool. Lost a star because of this action. It was an overall wonderful dining experience.

Had lunch here on Tuesday. The service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean. They have excellent lunch specials! I got the shrimp and steak hibachi combo which came with soup, salad, fried rice, and grilled veggies. It was delicious!

Mushroom soup and House Salad

Kabuto is a new Japanese restaurant that has taken over the Bill Bateman's old spot. The decor is beautiful upon entry. The hibachi is placed on the left side of the restaurant, and the dine-in and sushi bar is located on the right. The host helped us to make a decision on which side to sit on. He advised that the wait for the hibachi was about 30 minutes, and the other side, there was no wait at all. We were escorted to the seating area and was quickly greeted by our server. He was fast and efficient with service. I ordered the Emporer's Feast (Filet Mignon, Shrimp, and Scallops) and hubby had the Hibachi Combo (Steak and Scallops), which was served with mushroom soup, house salad, hibachi noodles, shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetables, and choice of fried or white rice, we both had the fried rice. The food was brought thoughtfully. We were able to dine with ease and not be rushed between the soup or salad. Once the main course was served, I was a little disappointed. The hibachi vegetables were cold, as if they were pre-cooked and refrigerated and then heated up. I guess we should've waited longer for hot fresh vegetables. The scallops were a tad salty, but I managed by dipping them into the sauce. Overall, the food was flavorful, but I could not overlook the cold vegetables when e everything else was served hot. If we should return, we just ask that the cook please check the vegetables and make sure they are hot.

Teriyaki chichen

Really nice decor. They nailed the Japanese garden vibe in the front area, though I'd like to see more than the lone koi...he seems lonely! The rest of the restaurant has different vibes. A lot of street food and restaurant photos from Japan make up the wallpaper of Kabuto. It looks right. HAPPY HOUR $3 SAKE IS A NICE TOUCH. I had their chicken teriyaki and some unagi. Both were pleasing. The teriyaki had a slightly different flavor than I'm used to, but I actually loved the change. Service was good - staff was friendly, communicative, and fast. I'd love to go back for hibachi when I'm more hungry.

This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

My lady ordered the beef enchiladas, and after the first bite she realized it just wasn't to her liking. We mentioned it to the manager right away since the dish had barely been touched, thinking there might be an opportunity to switch it out for something else. Unfortunately, we were told that due to their policy the item could not be removed from the bill and we would still need to pay for it. That was surprising because most restaurants are willing to work with you when a dish clearly isn't enjoyed after the first bite. The food here has usually been good, which is why this experience stood out. It just felt like there was a missed opportunity from a customer service standpoint to turn the situation around. I ordered the Chimichanga as I've done before. This time it was extremely dry and no sauce of any type on it. (I couldn't eat it) The refried beans were good, but a tiny bowl for $5.00. The included side salad was just glorified lettuce with some onions on it. The food is not authentic Mexican. The mixed drinks are priced on the HIGH END. $18 - $20 for a Manhattan. I don't plan on returning unless my friend wants to and if so, I will stick to the Guacamole.
