Underground Pizza is one of my favorite pizza places in Baltimore so I was excited to hear they expanded to Towson since it's closer to home. My bf and I dined in around 7p on New Year's Day. There are only a few tables inside but we were able to snag one of the last ones. We ordered the UP sampler which included 3 mozzarella sticks, 3 arancini balls, and 3 fried Mac and cheese bites- a fried lovers dream. The app came with multiple sauces for dipping- hot honey, red sauce, and vodka sauce. For pizza, we stuck with our tried and true half Roni Boy. Happy to report that the food was just as delicious as the Baltimore location. Service was pretty slow but we noticed there was only one person handling both dine in customers and carry out orders so it wasn't a huge deal. There were tons of people coming in and out for carry out while we were ate so they seem to do a booming business for carry out. Def a place to check out if you're in the area! read more

I don't write reviews on Yelp. This is my only one. But I feel so strongly, so unwaveringly confident in my absolute adoration of this business that I couldn't NOT write a review. Wherever I'm feeling down or upset about something, I come to the Underground Pizza Yelp page and scroll through the 1 star reviews. My spirits are always lifted by Evan's absolute torching of the bogus reviews. I guarantee it will be the best 5 minutes you spend on Yelp today. Evan's wordsmithing is outmatched only by the quality pies he puts out. For the price, I probably wont go again. Some of the specialty pizzas were over salted yet still bland in flavor. Others were okay but not worth the price. Wings were decent but nothing special. I would need a pretty substantial reduction in prices to consider returning. There are better pizza options in the area. read more

I've reviewed UP before and I gave them 4 stars. I'm updating that to 3. I like the concept. It's not terrible. But the first time we visited our pizzas were prepared incorrectly. When I posted a photo explaining they were over cooked, the manager said they weren't even prepared properly on top of being over cooked. He gave me a $40 gift card to return. I did return and bought the chicken parm. It wasn't good. It was spicy. Nothing on menu said it was supposed to be spicy. The food is ok. Maybe you'll have better luck. read more

Underground Pizza Company did an amazing job. My friends and I came there for a gathering. They did great handling all 15-20 of us on short notice. It was a nice, small place with no alcohol, but a chill vibe. We made the most of it. We had fun with no regrets. The pizza was amazing, to say the least. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

Came in to try a deal on their basic pies. Their basics were pretty good so I would suggest definitely branching out and trying some of their specialty pizzas. I also would recommend just opting for the take out service over dine-in only because it's a bit small in there and it does take a bit for the pizzas to come out. Literally the most amazing pizza I have ever had. We got the destroyer, the Nonna and the Woodlands. It was enough for like 3 meals lol. The crust is buttery and delicious. We've been supporting and loving your pizza since the early covid drop days! Your staff seems to have got the dough just right here in Towson and we loved our most recent orders. One thing to note- the cheese sticks are delicious but not the same large size as the downtown location. I also had the marg pizza and wish my mozz was a little more melty. This was my first time here and I'll probably not go back. I ordered online and was told 35 minutes. When I arrived at my pick up time the guy working the counter said they were a little busy and it would be another ten minutes... no problem at all... I stood by the wall because all of the tables were pushed to one pile and there was about half the floor installed and the other half was just piled up in random spots. 30 minutes later and I asked again. He said 10 minutes once again. 15 minutes later I finally got my pizza. So an hour plus. I get home... 7 minute drive. Pizza seems like it's been sitting for a while, both by feel and temperature so I'm not sure why I waited an hour plus... first we tried the homemade mozz sticks. They were extremely crispy but had very little flavor. We ordered 3 half pizza. The "Roni Boy" which is supposed to be double pepperoni. There were about 8 pepperonis on the entire pizza. We also got a Mexican pepperoni which tasted like canned chili. Last, we got a cheese. This was the best of the 4 items we got. Nothing special just a nice plain cheese pizza. read more

It's good, but not amazing. They put a lot of sauce on the pizza which prevents the cheese from getting a good brown. (I don't like a ton of sauce and I like browned mozzarella) Their pesto was delicious which got them a star back all on its own. So I was a bit apprehensive because no customers were there but boy was I surprised. I love breadsticks, and I felt like I was eating one huge breadstick with my pizza. I ordered the flag, I would have appreciated it coming with like a huge bowl of marinara sauce because it was bomb af with it. For the mozzarella sticks they were okay. Underground is my go to pizza spot. Great local business that provides, to me, the best pizza in the area. I am a creature of habit and typically stick with the roni cups. The pepperoni mac and cheese balls are really good. All of their staff is friendly and responsive. First off, this is not NY style pizza. There are plenty of places in Towson for that. This is Detroit style so you can expect a saltier and crispier crust. We ordered three full size pizzas: the classic, the jersey turnpike and the margherita. We also ordered a kale caesar salad. Everything was great. The pizza was ready on time. I also liked that my question about the dressing was answered promptly by texting the Towson number (the caesar dressing is vegetarian). The restaurant is pretty easy to get to. Lots of parking options around (street, lot or garage). I ordered take out but they do have tables and chairs if you want to eat there. read more

The service is a joke. They simply don't know how to manage orders or don't care. Either way, be prepared for ridiculous wait times (my experience was over2 hrs). Avoid this pizza option if you are hungry our if you value your time. I initially ordered a pizza and was given a 55 min estimate until it would be ready. Not great for "fast food" but the timing was communicated in advance, so I could plan my arrival accordingly. I arrived at my "ready time " to be told the pizza is still not ready, but it shouldn't be too much longer. This conversation happened no less than 5 more times over the next hour plus. An hour and 10 min after I arrived I finally got my order (2+ hrs since placing it). Most of the others customers (and online delivery drivers) experienced similar unplanned delays Some customers were given "compensation cards" for their delays, others were not. The rhyme or reason as to who got the compensation seemed totally arbitrary. While we waited, we learned the reason given for some of the delay... the kitchen ran out of red sauce. Apparently the service isn't the only area that needs to be retrained About the pizza - it was good, but the bad taste left by the horrendous service made the whole experience a waste of my time. read more

Setting aside that Underground Pizza in Towson is my favorite pizza place in Maryland, I'm writing this review mainly to capture how awesome the people are. First- my partner unfortunately placed an order at a different Underground Pizza location when he intended to do a pick-up at Towson. When I went to the Towson location to pick up the order per my partner's request, I was prompted to provide an order number. After calling my partner a handful of times in an effort to procure said order number (without success), the manager or associate kindly went out of his way to call the Downtown Baltimore location to confirm if my partner inadvertently ordered there. And with that, he confirmed this and helped find the order we were looking for (because it was not at the Towson location). Second- When I left to walk back to my apartment, which happens to be near the Towson Underground Pizza location, a belligerent individual accosting others at my apartment's entry way was standing there. I got scared after he made belligerent gestures and cursed at a female tenant walking her dog, so I rushed back to the pizza place. When I explained to the staff that I came back inside to wait until that individual left, the same manager or associate went out of his way to walk me back to my apartment to ensure my safety. Thanks to him, I got home safely and cannot express how grateful I am to be nearby a location with amazing people. read more

Figured maybe we would give the Towson location a try. Nope. Fool me once shame on you... fool me twice shame on me though I may say it wasn't entirely my decision. This was ANOTHER of one of the most regrettable pizza decisions I have made in the last 5 years. The tastelessness of this crap on a dry slab of burned dough is only surpassed in mediocrity by Sorrento's, unless of course you love the taste of salt, of which there was plenty. Not to mention the order was prepared completely wrong and arrived cold. Attempts to call the store went unanswered. This order was for a large TU cast party and everyone was laughing at how bad it all was. We put it in the trash and sent for Papa John's which is light years above this crap. At least it's appropriately named, because it looks and tastes like it came from underground. Take my advice.... GO ELSEWHERE! You'll thank me later. read more
