It was tasty and well-prepared, though it was fairly simple and something that could easily be recreated at home. For my entrée, I ordered the sourdough burger without onions and added bacon. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. My husband went with the Double Pony Burger, which was absolutely massive. He thoroughly enjoyed it and had no complaints. I also tried the Seven-Headed Dragon cocktail, which is similar to a Long Island Iced Tea. It was delicious, packed a serious punch, and is definitely not a drink to underestimate! Our server was friendly and pleasant, although there were a few times when he seemed to disappear for a while, and our food took a bit longer to arrive than we expected. Even so, the atmosphere helped make up for the wait. As we were finishing up, they were getting ready to start karaoke, which looked like it would be a lot of fun and added to the lively beach-town vibe. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, the waterfront setting, and the laid-back atmosphere. Eventually, we had to flag someone down and politely ask, "Hey, do you know if anyone is going to come take our drink order?" The guy we spoke to seemed genuinely irritated that we even asked. What made it even more frustrating was that two tables who were seated after us had their drink orders taken and their food brought out before anyone even came over to us. When our waiter finally did come to the table, he acted like we were inconveniencing him simply by being there. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and things happen, but that wasn't the case here. The food was good, but the service and attitude made the experience one I probably wouldn't repeat. It can be hit or miss depending on what you order however, we have been enough to know and share with others what to order and what to stay away from. The following is from our most recent visit. We began the meal with a Cosmo and a Fairhope Brewery Blue Steel Sour. Both were very good. The Blue Steel sour has notes of blueberry. For an appetizer we ordered the cheese dip. It consist of three cheeses, including Gruyere, which is one of our favorites. The cheese also comes with feta cheese and a tomato relish over the top, which we find very good. It makes the cheese dip a little different than others. The tomatoes are very soft and the relish is on the sweeter side. My Wife got the chicken roulade. It was okay. The chicken was good however, it is wrapped in bacon and flash fried. In our opinion the flash fry isn't needed and it adds the risk of the bacon being overdone or burnt, which is what happened. The Parmesan risotto was a little gummy but had good flavor. The cream sauce that accompanied the dish was probably the best part. I got the fish sandwich and upgraded from sheepshead to grouper. You can get it fried, blackened or grilled. I chose grilled and it was really good. It was not the first time I have gotten the fish sandwich. The bun is a sourdough/Hawaiian roll hybrid. I got an order of fries to go with the fish sandwich. Their fries are really really. They're slightly battered and crunchy. Very good with ketchup or tartar sauce or both! If you visit I would suggest sticking to the fish sandwich, burger or fish dish (grilled/blackened) that comes with a cream based sauce. Their drinks and beer is selection really good as well. Most of the time on weekends they have live music if that's your kind of thing.

We dined inside this year and the restaurant is beautiful and elegant without feeling stuffy. Our meals were great and my husband's gin martini was exactly what he wanted. We were able to share the Caesar Salad and when I asked for light dressing that's exactly what I got. I ordered the 6 piece shrimp basket with unseasoned fries and no slaw and everything arrived exactly as requested. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sandwich, The Butcher Shop Hoagie. Alex was perfectly attentive without hovering. We learned it was just her second day yet she seemed like a seasoned professional!! The ambiance is always amazing.
