I stopped by for a drink and a snack, and loved this place. The people are nice, the environment was very inviting. I got a kombucha in a can to go and couldn't pass up on the mascarpone polenta cake... Like the best pound cake you've ever had, so moist and delicious! On the sweet side so I could only eat half, but I'll enjoy the other half with my coffee in the morning.

A decent local coffee shop, Unincorporated has been in Altadena for the last few years offering a local, independent coffee shop experience, as the name suggests. After living nearby for several years I finally checked out Unincorporated on a Saturday afternoon, ordering an iced and regular lattes ($6.50 each). They were tasty and well made. Interior is clean and unassuming, staff friendly and approachable. Prices are a little high but not unreasonable for a local coffee shop experience. Parking in the back with a nice patio behind. Worthy of a stop if you're in the area, and a refreshing change from Starbucks and other chains. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Value: 4/5

It says that it's open and it's not! Drove a long distance to try their coffee and it was disappointing for me and my mom to come across your store closed. There are boxes everywhere so clearly your place hasn't been open to public for a while. You should really keep up with your open hours.

Met up with the guys for a meeting at this coffee spot in the morning and I was so impressed and loved the coffee. Service was amazing and I was Vibing with the barista. super chill dude. I typically don't grab pastries, just coffee, but the everything bagel danish was insane. I had never had something as good anywhere else. Get it warmed up and it's so crispy and flaky you'll love it. If I am nearby again, I might just come back for the danish. The lil somtin was amazing coffee too. Way to go!

Such a cozy little spot, especially for locals that still know of it... after half the city disappeared. It's always a joy to see familiar faces and it seems that energy of familiarity and friendship runs strong at this spot. It feels like a little beacon of hope despite the dark days we all went through. Tired and groggy, everyone is still smiling and talkative once they're standing in line. The roasts are amazing, tried nearly every single one. Love the baked goods too, glad there's one or two gluten free options. Always delicious.

Yesterday my best friend and I wanted to support locally. Unincorporated is adorable! The staff are friendly and just a ray of sunshine in the morning. Exactly what I need and what the community needs. I ended getting the Fancy Latte. When I saw sprinkle in the description, I said SIGN ME UP. It was a creamy, velvety treat with just the right amount of sweetness. The sprinkles on the top make it playful and fun, almost too pretty to drink. They also have pastries which I will have to try next time I go. There is a tiny parking lot, not sure if they share with the other businesses. But there is also street parking as well.

It was raining and we what the run club come over to the event to celebrate rose bowl half marathon preview and enjoy some pastries to support the Altadena businesses. Parking is limited so definitely walk and find street parking. The lot is small but come early to get an early spot. Place is quaint and has outdoor seatings with canopy in the back and few seats out front but with the rain we were all cramped inside. Coffee I must say is delicious. The Americano was made amazingly. Had to get two cups! I got the cinnamon roll And it was perfect after a nice stroll through the city. Ordering takes time so come and be patient. Will return again!

This place is very special to me, and I'm kicking myself that I haven't written a review until today. When Unincorporated opened (in maybe 2017?), I lived quite literally next door to their cafe. I may have been there on opening day actually! The coffee was great, the sense of community was great, the muffins were great... all of it! In 2019, I moved to Arizona, but I always held this local shop in my heart. Then, in 2025, when the fires erupted in Altadena, I was worried sick for everyone in my former home. Unincorporarted survived the blaze and this past weekend when I was in LA, I made the trip out here -- and of course -- the coffee was great! They assured me they're staying busy, the new clientele they're serving (at the moment) is Army Corps, FEMA, and construction workers. Running a small business is so hard for anyone, but it's particularly hard when you're running it in a community so affected by such loss. If you want to make a difference for the Altadena community, head on over here for a latte -- the iced Lil Sumthing is my personal fave!

I love every single roast this place produces! Every time I visit this place the staff is so well trained, and knowledgeable about their coffees. Personally, I liked the longer coffee bar of the old venue, but the new building makes sense as well! Omg... I just realized they are affected by the fires. I hope they get all the help they deserve!

Oh my goodness, literally the best cup of coffee in Southern California. Crazy drinks to exotic honeys this place is amazing! It definitely is a bit more expensive but it's a small business!, trust me though it's such a good cuppa coffee I take all my friends there and the love there coffee unincorporated is seriously my favorite coffee I swear I would be there everyday if I could!!! This place serves the best coffee! I had a cup of Ethiopia few month ago. It was amazing! I stopped by and ordered ice coffee. To be honest, I wasn't expected much but oh boy I was wrong. The coffee is good and the customer service is usually good too. But we had one recent bad experience on a Sunday afternoon where we asked for an iced coffee and the person who took our order was cleaning the floor then proceeded to make the drink and placed their hands inside the ice maker - without bothering to first wash their hands. Not what I expected especially in pandemic times. Needless to say, I threw away the coffee. read more

We have been huge fans of Unincorporated Coffee for a couple years now. Loving their new expansion-- it's gorgeous! The staff are some of the nicest around and their coffee is fantastic. My best friend and I stoped by for the first time as our other croissant place was under construction. We both ordered a latte, croissant and a cinnamon twist. The latte coffee tasted mostly milk and run down coffee...barely any coffee flavor to it. Both pastries were stall and dry (we were there before 10.) With all the local options, we likely won't return. read more

love this coffee shop and want to give 5 stars but the mobile ordering is such a hassle. i've mobile ordered here 5 times in the passed two weeks and it has yet to go smoothly as planned. i place my order and show up 10-15 mins later and they don't start making my drink until i arrive and ask about my order. i'll continue getting coffee here because it's great but i'll have to quit using the mobile ordering until they get it figured out. read more

Paco, Allen and Arthur, the self proclaimed "Three Idiots" Who have made the blind "three idiot blend, classy blend for classy people". These guys are friendly and personable and introduce themselves when you first come in. Actually Paco is the mascot but the others are real. They roast their beans on site. They've brought quality coffee roasting to Altadena. Located in the West Dena area close to hiking trails, biking trails and the JPL entrance. I discovered them a week ago and I've been here 4 times already since they are just minutes from my house. They're so friendly the first time my daughter came in to the roaster shop she actually was able to get full education about the roasting techniques. They've been open 6 AM to 6 PM every day, this is a great option for people in the unincorporated Los Angeles area also known as Altadena. read more

Found this little spot whilst in need of my afternoon cup o' Joe. Some thoughts: Parking & misc. -- the restaurant is located in a small strip mall, but it wasn't crowded so I found a spot quickly and easily. The service was super friendly and kind. Ambiance -- this is a cute spot, simple coffee shop vibes (lots of white and succulent plants), and a bathroom handy. Drinks -- their coffee was top notch. I got a pour over (Chemex), I think it was $5.50 which is on par for a top level coffee shop. It looked like they roasted their own beans, and the flavors were delicious. It's 100% a local place, it's all about its city (Altadena) and the coffee was excellent to boot -- next time I'm in Pasadena I may just pop up here b/c I think it may be the best coffee in the greater Pasadena area O_o read more

Just got coffee and a cookie from Unincorporated coffee shop. I wanted to pay with cash and the two employees looked at me like I was an alien and said, "Oh, we're cashless..." in one of those snobby, you should have known, keep up with the times voices. I said, "Really? That's strange." They both just stared at me with blank faces. I got my credit card out. Can't take real money. I guess I'm getting old. read more

The smoothest coffee I have ever tasted. 100% better than Starbucks. These guys put more care into their coffee than any coffee shop I have ever been to. They roast the beans, right in the kitchen! 5 stars for servicing a pair of bedraggled campers who came down from camping in Angeles National forest at 6 AM during 4th of July observed holiday. This place is a cute corner tucked into the foothills of Alta Dena. Barista was friendly and answered my amateur questions about beans without overly trying to cross-sell us beans and coffee paraphernalia, which I really appreciated at 6:30 AM. Love their sense of humor - call in just to listen to their automated voicemail call routing thing! read more

This is Altadena's hidden gem - LA's best coffee in an out of the way hole in a wall .... !! The staff are So personable, we go get coffee or tea just to be with the funny gang.... Finally had a couple of opportunities to try Unincorporated Coffee. Didn't want to post anything without trying it more than once to make sure my impressions were accurate. Unincorporated rivals some of the most iconic coffee shops in LA (Art+Science, LA Mill, Verve, Jameson, Jones, Paper or Plastik, Commissary, Conservatory). Their beans and preparation are excellent with customer service to match. What's crazy is that on the same sleepy corner of Altadena another coffee shop is about to open - Robot Coffee. Keeping fingers crossed for proper chocolate pastries and late night hours. read more

Okay, folks, pandemic or no pandemic in case you have been living under a rock you would know about this incredulous coffee palace. This brick and mortar shop is a jewel in the rough. 1) The owners are the gurus behind the coffee drinks and pastries. 2) On the menu there is a favorite section, well today I had one of those and almost went insane with delectable flavor. I was seeking something that was uber refreshing and would get me charged up (Okay I missed my morning coffee due to my 7-year-olds meetings) . I am normally not allowed to speak to anyone until I have coffee. So, try the lemonade infused with fresh herbs and a shot of espresso. It will knock your socks off even if you are not wearing any. I now am a solid devotee and am not worthy. Try it and try the pastries they are the bomb. If you do not agree, I will mow your lawn and wax your car. Just sayin'. My hats off to the owners. Here's what we ordered: **Melon Salad: This was an off-the-menu item recommended by our server for a refreshing little appetizer. It's an interesting combination with cucumbers, mint leaves, melon, and a tart citrusy vinaigrette. Basic ingredients but an elevated feel with the overall balance of flavors. (3.5/5) **Ricotta Gnocchi: This is not your ordinary Italian style gnocchi. The gnocchi had a nice balance between soft and crispy. It had a strong lemon flavor with a ton of cheese sprinkled on top. It tasted like a savory lemon pound cake and it was quite weird for me. (3.5/5) **30 Day Dry Aged Ribeye: The ribeye itself was above average but the chimichurri was definitely the star of this dish. Reservations are made through Resy and you can make reservations within 2 weeks from the current date. The interior is quite small and accommodates smaller parties of 1 to 4. Most tables seat 2 but there are a few that seat 4. There's one booth available in the back where you can possibly squeeze in 5 average sized people. There are a few outdoor table options as well. As a 6'7" man, this restaurant was way too small so keep that in mind. There's barely enough room for people to get around and the interior gets really hot because of the open kitchen and ongoing flames from the wood fire. Do I recommend Betsy? Yes and no. Prices are fairly high in my opinion but the food is good. If the restaurant was a little larger and the ventilation was better then I would definitely recommend this place 100%. Would I go again? Probably not. However, I believe that Betsy will flourish so I wish the best of luck to them and whatever the future holds for them.

And whenever you're available in person like this pop up, you can taste each variety in beside for yourself which one you really like. But you can always order off the website once you know which ones you'd like. The hint is, you'll probably like all of them. For those unable to decide, they also produce a home blended variety, honey, which is a mixup of all the end runs of all the other honeys and generally pretty palatable. All the honeys are left raw, and unfiltered so you get the maximum benefits. And of course, because this is actual natural raw honey, it may crystallize if stored for a long time. But it's still good nonetheless, and if you're really particular about having it more clear, just warm it up a few seconds in the microwave. Buy local, eat local.

I have been a coffee drinker for 20 plus years, and I tell you, there is no coffee like unincorporated coffee. The owners are so passionate about their business, and you can tell they treat it like it's their baby. That's when you know they are not just investors in the business, but they have a true passion for it. The staff is extremely friendly, the ambiance is great. When you walk in, and you feel tired or sleepy before getting your coffee, the staff is so friendly that you automatically get a mood boost. Their food is great, the Rico burrito is to die for! When I go to another coffee shop, it doesn't feel right. I'm so happy for the owners, and I'm so happy that we get to have the privilege of having quality and delicious coffee in Altadena! I Have probably been here 50 times. It's right down the hill from my house. They are very thoughtful with my order and always craft it deliciously.
