    Gluten-free pizza

This place ROCKS!! We have been to Union Jacks 5 times in the last 3 days! 1) Friendly staff that remembers us! 2) Delicious gluten free options, including sandwiches and pizza! 3) Fun atmosphere! Preparties and after- parties! Great bands! Karaoke! 4) Great location!

Sports on the TV above our hi-top table, and a big-screen TV over by the pool table, with plenty of other TVs, too

Best fish and chips! TV's and a big-screen TV We've come here for years, and we've always loved their generous flakey moist crispy fried-fish and chips. A quiet Sunday in Sep '24 was a comfortable friendly refuge after a long trip. We also had a tasty veggie burger, and several draft and craft beers. We always dine near the bar, partly for the friendly bartenders and servers, and partly for sports on many tvs, including s big-screen by the pool table! Plenty of parking just across the entryway or and a garage just down the access road.

First time here and definitely coming back. The place is large with a vibe . This a good place to come catch a game or just enjoy drinks with friends. The service is good and quick . The calamari is AMAZING , the bread pudding is beyond fulfilling . The prices are reasonable . Plenty of street parking .

The gluten-free pizza crust was a good texture, though I wish the Margherita pizza had some sauce on it rather than just cheese and tomato slices. I was really happy to find that they have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free items, so you can order a variety of things here if that's a concern for you. Our server was very kind and attentive, and it was nice to sit on the patio in the evening. The inside of the restaurant seemed a bit dark and didn't get a lot of sunlight, which heavily influenced my choice to sit outside. The food wasn't anything special, but it was good, and I wouldn't turn anyone away from giving it a try.

Came to get fish and chips for Easter weekend. The fish and chips were very good. Crispy fish was very tasty but could have been better seasoned. I had the honey old wings which were the best wings I've had in sometime. They were the right level of sweetness and the old bay was not overpowering. Perfectly balanced appetizer. My rating is based on service. Our drinks weren't very cold. She we ordered we asked to have the wings brought out first but everything came at once. Tables say unbussed and it was distracting. They only were cleared if they needed to seat someone. Upside is the server was nice but overwhelmed due to lack of staffing.

Just a short walk from Meriweather post, this British pub makes legit fish and chips. Decent tap selection which includes 2 English ciders. We visited before the Zack Brown concert, and the live band playing at the pub for right in. Their outside patio was packed 2 hours before the show, so service was a bit slow to handle such a crowd, but service was friendly and welcoming. Inside there is a large area to grab a pint and stand around. Menu is beyond British pub fare, to include salads and even shrimp tacos.

The reviews are definitely harsh, based on my two experiences here. The ambiance is quite nice, with tons of bar seating and dining. The customer service was also excellent, especially the first time around. As for the food, it was pretty good! I ordered fish & chips both times, and they were good, with great portions. My girl ordered their beet salad, and she was also rather impressed.

I came for a visit with a few friends on their trivia night hosted by Charm City Trivia. The trivia was fun, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. Our visit happened to coincide with a concert, so the place was packed with people looking to grab a quick bite before their show. We were told that due to the concert, they had a shortened menu selection (photos shown of the concert/event menu). After deciding on what to order, we struggled to flag down a waiter. When we finally got ahold of a waiter, they kept forgetting to bring us cups of water. The food took a very long time to come out, but I hope this was just due to the large number of guests during our visit. Unfortunately, none of our dishes were particularly good. I had the fish and chips, which were incredibly bland and not very crispy at all. My friend got the Pub Philly, and it tasted so bad that she didn't even finish eating one of the sandwich halves... The only dish I would consider ordering again in the future is the Chicken Banger Rolls - at least they had some semblance of flavor. One member of the party really wanted the Reuben, which is not available on the event menu. However, staff told us that at around 7-7:30pm after the concert begins, they would switch back to the regular menu. So my friend decided to wait until that time to order the Reuben. At 7:30pm, trivia started. Again, we struggled to flag down a waiter. Finally, after 8pm, my friend walked to the bar to speak with someone to place an order. Her food came out incredibly late even though all the concert-goers were already gone. Honestly, I don't think I will ever come back unless I really want to participate in another Charm City Trivia night. The service is so bad, and the food I tried was not very good.

We came here after a festival in Columbia and it was a good time. We stumbled upon trivia which was really fun! I had the fish and chips and it was absolutely delicious. The service was a little slow and I was only able to get one old fashioned because they ran out of bitters. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience. I'll def be back.

Met some friends here on a Saturday for lunch. We started off with an order of pretzels with cheese sauce and fried pickles. Both appetizers were delish! For entrees, I went with the chicken tenders and an order of fries. I really liked batter on the tenders, it gave them a nice crisp. The fries were just meh. My fiancé ordered off the brunch menu and got the Crème brûlée French toast. He said it was "surprisingly delicious." All entree portions were very large that most of us left with a box in hand. There are some pool tables and darts near the back of the restaurant- def a good place to get a group together!

    BROWNIE SUNDAE

Very surprised by this place. Did not expect the food to be good at all, but it was amazing. Everything was extremely fresh and could tell it was just made. The pretzels were right out of the fryer/oven, unlike the food market down the street (those are stale unlike these ones) Salmon was great. waitress Alex very nice and welcoming.

    Fish n Chips. Excellent grub.

We made a last-minute decision to try for some of the nightly jazz (except Monday) at 18th & 21st on a Friday evening (Oct 2025), hip-ly named for the prohibition amendment and repeal :-) There's a free parking garage right across from the entrance of the building they share with a sister restaurant, Cured. We arrived in the bright seasonally-decorated welcoming lobby about 7:50pm. We ought to have made reservations, but in under 10min, the reception staff took us to the more intimate room towards the back where we were seated at at the bar, which is really what we wanted. When we arrived, the 6pm jazz band had just gone on break, so we felt free to chat with friendly regulars and with the bar staff. They have a changing list of ten craft beers from $6 to $21, plus one $6 non-alcoholic brew. Five of the $14-$35 per-glass vintage wines from their list of 17 are preserved with the "corovin" system that keeps air out, so they are never "corked". We focussed on their list of 11 crafted $13-$22 cocktails plus 5 non-alcoholic ones, all made with quality ingredients, each naming the staff member(s) (and guests) who formulated the recipe! We found Alex's $16 Fernetinez sublimely sweet: of bitter fernet amaro, Frederick-based locally-sourced award-winning McClintock One Last Time gin (exclusive for 18th&21st), smooth Luxardo liqueur, and a sweet vermouth. We loved the aroma and flavor of the classic Smoked Old Fashioned of bourbon from Kentucky's 10th-oldest distillery, Green River, moved to a mild well-rounded sweetness by brown sugar simple syrup, smoked in front of me by Mike (if i remember), with added richness from smoky bitters. They have a creative menu of $30 to $65 entrees, plus salads, small plates, apps, and sides, and they have a changing menu of small plates. We really hadn't planned on eating, but we couldn't resist. The $17 duck bao buns had thin tender filets with a sweet lightly-salty apricot-soy glaze and a tangy crunchy pickled cucumber slaw on a soft folded yeasted slightly-sweet white-flour bun. The $12 pair of fried fresh-tasting oysters were sweet and juicy with a light-flavored crunchy crust. They were so yummy, and easy to enjoy with our cocktails. Rodney Kelly's jazz band was excellent, playing with spirit, joking with each other and the audience, even staging a song or two with a skilled member of the restaurant staff. Afterwards we had brief moments with some of the band members, like an intimate jazz club. Later in the evening, i also had a Turkish Sunset, a Manhattan-variation created in a collaboration among the staff and a guest (Well-done Ozzie!). I love Elijah Craig, and wanted to try their dry toasted rye, with housemade allspice dram syrup, Small Hands grenadine, and bitters. By now, i felt very much at home with the staff, and when i learned that one of them had helped formulate this beverage, i confided that its amazing complexity was, for me, just a touch too dry. Alex (if i remember) considered the ingredients and the target flavors, and added just a touch of a sweet lemony liqueur, perfectly complimenting the recipe's flavors! Real-time crafting goes above and beyond, Thank you! (And when they next update the menu, maybe they'll have a custom option named for me :-)

We dropped in on a Tuesday night at 8:00pm and it was open mic night. There were two bands and three individuals that played both original music, and covers. One man played the electric guitar that took over the room! We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and the music. As for the food and beers, we ordered the Loyally Blonde, Mellow Howl IPA, Fundido Pizza and the Jumbo Crab Pretzel. The pretzel was smothered in creamy jumbo lump crab dip and had a beautiful crust on the bottom that held up and never got soggy. The pizza had very fresh Pico de gallo and chorizo with a great crispy yet fluffy crust. We really loved the food we got and would absolutely go back to try more. I have a feeling the weekends would be packed with bigger known bands so make sure you go in before the music gets going.
