    The Executive Burger

I usually don't have very high expectations for pub food, but this spot consistently sets the bar. Great beer selections on tap, and their food has high quality ingredients that really make a difference. The chickpeas on the kale salad I ordered were perfectly crispy, and my husband really enjoyed the executive burger with the thick cut bacon. The live music also adds a great touch on the weekends. A top contender of all the breweries along the 101.

    Short rib ragu!! Sooooo delicious!

Celebrated my sister's birthday (17 friends!) in the beautifully lit back patio of Union. The service was efficient and friendly especially for a large group. I ordered the short rib ragu and it was so flavorful and delicious. I finished the whole thing! Great value too. My husband got the gumbo and he enjoyed it. Everyone was so pleased with their choices. There was live entertainment indoors too. They let us bring in a cake and provided plates which was so nice. A fun night was had by all! Looking forward to returning soon.

Went here twice. Once for a late night dinner and then "brunch" a few days later. I can absolutely say go for dinner. I had the fisherman's stew. Essentially a version of ciopoanno. It was amazing. Fresh seafood, amazing slightly spicy broth. Perfect. Nothing overcooked and clearly fresh ever ordering close to closing. Also ordered a ceaser salad- the fried capers LEGIT PERFECT. My husband had the union burger with truffle fries. He said was good. I was too distracted by my dinner to try. "Brunch" on the other hand, was a little disappointing. Hoping it was just a limited menu because it was Father's Day but food was mediocre. Service here is great. Not overly attentive but very great recommendations. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in town.

Delicious brunch menu with well made drinks. We enjoyed the green veggie omelet & skillet cornbread benedict. The service is friendly & the ambiance is industrial & laidback.

This spot is definitely going to be a go to brunch spot when in the area. The Christmas vibes were super cute gave it such a warm and welcoming ambiance. Service and food were great! Would highly recommend it if you're in the area. Has a bunch of seating inside and outside.

Tonight I got the Moroccan quinoa salad. It was fantastic!! I got it with dressing on the side, which was perfect because I could go lighter on the dressing. Next time I might add additional shrimp (I like a lot of shrimp) and I'll get it with no fried garbanzo beans to make it lower calorie. Louise our server was fantastic: friendly and helpful! Perfect meal

Great ambiance and good food! I came here with my family for my dad's birthday recently. I ordered the honey roasted fig flatbread. It was good, but the fries my sister ordered were delicious. Our server was nice and even brought out a little chocolate cake to celebrate my dad's birthday.

Come here for the vibes not the food~ it was such a cute place near the beach, I sat next to the open windows and the fresh air was so nice with the games on the bar TVs. The food was decent but not great. The autumn salad was nice and refreshing but flatbreads were lacking. The honey roasted fig flatbread sounded so good but was such an odd flavor we couldn't take more than two bites; thankfully they have great service and swapped it out for the mushroom arugula flatbread instead which was much better but still not of the better ones I've tried. Short rib fries were so flavorful and delicious - they are more of a poutine which I loved, but my partner did not. Overall would recommend the salad and short rib fries but maybe avoid the flatbreads unfortunately!

Wow. Our experience here was great. The food was very good. We tried the Honey Roasted Fig flatbread and the Executive burger and both were delicious. The fries and bacon from The Executive Burger, and the goat cheese and balsamic from the Honey Roasted Fig flatbread were my personal favorite touches. I found that the figs on the flatbread tasted refrigerated unfortunately. Our server, Brooke S, treated us very kindly and was quick on refills. We came at a slow time in the day, 15:00 on a Friday, but regardless, the ambiance is fun, comfortable, and the restaurant is comfortable and beautifully designed in an elevated rustic manner.

Place was large and they had Halloween decorations up which made it feel festive. We were there on Friday so they had live music (ad toppers say live music 8-11p but went until 10p), the guitarist was really good. Menu had a good variety, we ordered the executive burger and a Moroccan bowl, both were tasty. Our server was good, only thing to call out is the bussers were fast to pick up plates when we're still eating, should ask before taking away plates and drinks.

The food was delicious. The service was questionable. Once food was delivered it was a ghost town. No check ins, no refills, no more drinks. Waited awhile for check and boxes. Food was top tier though.

This was yummy. I had a few drinks and some gumbo. It isn't Louisiana gumbo, but with some salt pepper and Louisiana sauce (they didn't have Tabasco) it tasted ok. I would go back again. The sandwiches and share plates looked amazing.

Love the atmosphere and vibe of this restaurant. Food was delicious and satisfying. Tgey have a great menu; evetything sounding good! We had great service! The only negative was the long wait for food. But... the food was definitely worth the wait. Next time we are in the area, we will come back!

    Special Thanksgiving dinner. Happy Thanksgiving!

And our server was fantastic. So why, you might ask, only 4 stars in my review. Two reasons: 1). Management has prohibited giving a splash of a beer for someone to sample. Bottom line is that I wanted to order a pint of beer, but I wanted a splash of a couple of beers to try to make my decision. They refused, saying that one must buy a 5oz taster if one wants to taste the beer. I find that policy offensive. In the end I bought a taster to taste the Chuuurch, and then bought an additional pint after. It just seems nickel and dimey, and would be asking to an ice cream place not allowing one to sample their ice creams before buying a cone. I hope management reconsiders this policy. 2. My wife got the Hot Mess Fries and was disappointed not only in the flavor, but also in the misleading advertising. On the menu it specifically said that there was bacon in the fries, but in fact what they put on the fries was either chunks of ham or "Canadian bacon" (which as we all know is a very different thing from "bacon"). If they were or of regular bacon, the kitchen should have told the server this so he could have asked her if she wanted ham as a substitute. And, of they always use ham instead of bacon, them the menu needs to be changed to reflect that.

BIERGARDEN @ ENCINITAS…read more Parking can be a little difficult since this spot is located right on the main strip in Encinitas. There's parallel street parking throughout the area, so you might get lucky and find a spot nearby. I ended up parking on one of the side streets, which worked out perfectly. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, and it was definitely busy. We had to wait a little while for a table because several tables still needed to be cleaned before they could seat new guests. The staff was incredibly friendly, though, and we were seated as soon as they could. It did take about 15 minutes before a server was able to come over and take our order, but the restaurant was completely packed, so it's something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. After spending the day at the beach, we were really just in the mood for drinks. I ordered the Blood Orange Margarita, which can be served with Tajín, sea salt, or no rim at all. It was really good and definitely on the stronger side, which I appreciated. My only complaint was that there was a bit too much ice, but the flavor itself was great. The atmosphere is what really makes this place stand out. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, large open windows that let in plenty of fresh air, and a fun, lively vibe that makes it a great place to relax after a beach day. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the ambiance and cocktails, just be prepared for a little wait if you visit during peak hours.

But if you go past the restaurant, there is some parking on the road and in small lot meant for those enjoying nature. I felt bad taking one of these spots. There is paid public parking on the corner before the restaurant and valet is available at this brewery. I need to figure out another way to get here... On a Sunday afternoon, place had people but it wasnt mobbed. Baseball game and Del Mar horse races were showing on the TVs. But, don't come here to watch TV, look outside! I started off with a hefeweisen and that was good, date had a Mexican lager x 2. I had the ceviche (pretty good) and had the aioli on the side. Date had a sandwich of some kind and copious amounts of fries. It took a lot of will power for me to not have any of those fries, they looked so yummy! I also had a watermelon beer, this had hints of watermelon flavor and I enjoyed it. Great spot for large groups too as there were a few large parties sitting in the "outside" space. Hostess initially asked if we wanted to sit "inside" or "outside," and I was confused as it all looked like outside to me haha. I guess this is SoCal, everything is open air. This is a nice spot to have convo, very spacious, lots of nice tables, we sat at a high top. I love perching higher up, kinda of like a bird haha! Waitresses here were all very good, some very cute too (eye candy is always appreciated). Overall, a really fun way to spend a Sunday summer afternoon! I'll be back!
