Great place! Parking can be a little tight but there's a city pay lot next door that costs as much as the $6 valet if you're there for any length of time. So keep that in mind. Recently went for lunch. Started with a Mexican lager and shrimp ceviche (be sure to ask for the house hot sauce, it's fire)... The beer was crisp and refreshing... The ceviche was fresh! Plenty of chips and avocado came with it. For the entree, my cousin got the fish tacos with a side salad... He said it was great. I had the coconut curry chicken sandwich. I will highly recommend this. Big piece of chicken fried in the curry batter. Very good. It came with a side salad and a lemon vinaigrette... [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, amazing views of the lagoon in Del Mar...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been several times and will be back soon.

Came here for the first time for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What an epic location for this place. It's waterfront right on the San Dieguito River. Has a rad view and the the open architecture is perfect for sunny days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was solid, absolutely no complaints. Our server was attentive but gave us space and didn't rush us at all. They have a great drink selection (obviously). We both got the Mexican Lager which was light and smooth. Followed that up with the ceviche. We mixed in the house hot sauce which in my opinion elevated it. I got the crispy shrimp tacos. They were good. Kind of overloaded with cabbage but all the flavors were there so no complaints. My cuz got the Thai coconut chicken sando which looked . He said it was good too. All in all. Epic location, great food, great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back. FYI, the only downside was parking is limited and pretty much only option is paid self parking or valet - worth it though

100% not worth it. The food was mediocre. They gave us the wrong drink, when I questioned the drink, they were certain it was the right one even though it was a completely different color. It's also frustrating having to wait for valet to be there when your car is 10 feet away.

I had so much fun coming here with a friend. The service was fast and friendly. Our beers were great and served nice and cold. I loved the view and appreciated the wide variety of seating.

Viewpoint Brewing Company is a spacious brewery and restaurant in Del Mar with great views, strong food portions, and a relaxed, upscale-casual vibe. Pros: This place is a really solid all-around dining and brewery experience. The food was genuinely impressive, both in quality and portion size. I started with the shrimp ceviche, which was creamy, well-seasoned, and a great portion for a starter. For the main, I got the mushroom burger, which was huge, juicy, and had really good-quality meat. I also upgraded to the truffle fries for $3, and that was definitely worth it--crispy, flavorful, and a great side to pair with the burger. The beer selection was also strong with a lot of variety since it's a brewery, and the samples made it easy to try different options before committing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The overall space is large, open, and really well-designed, with a nice view of the area and a fireplace that adds to the atmosphere, especially in the evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was also great--friendly staff and quick seating even with a reservation at 7:00pm. Cons: Parking is the main downside. It's $6 valet per car, which is honestly the easiest option. Otherwise, you're looking at street parking or an Uber, but the walk from street parking can be a bit far and inconvenient. Verdict: Really great spot in Del Mar if you want good food, good beer, and a nice atmosphere. The portions are big, the quality is solid, and the experience overall is very smooth. I'd definitely come back, especially for a relaxed dinner or drinks with a view.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice brewery and restaurant in Del Mar that opens out to the lagoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, so make a reservation online instead of just walking in. The farmers market salad was super fresh and definitely big enough to share between 2 people. Very nice wait staff. Food and drinks came out within 10 minutes of ordering. $127 for 3 meals and a couple drinks + parking via valet or paid lot nearby.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for a brewery with serious coastal vibes, Viewpoint Brewing in Del Mar is a must-visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is huge, open, and modern, with a really relaxed indoor/outdoor setup that makes it perfect for sunny San Diego afternoons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The highlight here is definitely the atmosphere, you get beautiful views of the San Dieguito Lagoon, lots of natural light, and a breezy, social vibe that works for everything from brunch to happy hour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also super dog-friendly, which makes it even better if you're hanging out after a beach day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Beer-wise, they've got a solid rotating tap list with a mix of easy-drinking lagers, IPAs, and some more creative house brews. A flight is a great way to explore since there's usually something for everyone. The food is surprisingly good for a brewery too, think elevated pub food like burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, truffle fries, and brunch options. Service is generally friendly and laid-back, though it can get busy on weekends, so expect a bit of a wait or consider a reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall: great spot for views, vibes, and casual food + drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not the most "craft beer nerd" focused brewery in San Diego, but absolutely one of the best for hanging out and enjoying the scenery. Would I go back? 100%, especially for a sunset drink or weekend brunch. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8gDDj3H/

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool spot, great views, and friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The product itself wasn't my favorite, though. Decent place to try at least once. 1. Parking is paid. There's a dirt lot or valet. Valet is $6 before tip. There are a few free spots near the hiking trail if you're lucky. 2. Myself and many other guests experienced dirty glasses (lipstick marks). Server said they've been troubleshooting improving it so I hope they figure it out soon. 3. Servers all work together to split sections. Ironically, it made it kinda difficult to track things though, since 3 different people might give you 1 update each, but I'd rather have a 1 progressive update on missing items (compared to 3 different people checking from square 1). 4. They were super sweet and apologetic for the delays. Very busy since it was Easter so gotta factor that in. Comped one of our food items and offered dessert. 3 to 4 stars out of 5.

Not locals to the area but had some time to kill and decided to stop in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The brewery has ample seating indoors and outdoors and its nice to sit outdoors if the weather is fair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a nice view of the lagoon and trail if you choose to sit outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is about a 10min walk to the bridge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its dog friendly! I noticed several water bowls throughout the property.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking was tight. It was a week day, middle of the day so I can't imagine how parking is on the weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just as we were leaving, we saw signs for valet parking at $6, perhaps this goes into effect at 4pm and onwards ?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is underwhelming. I ordered the grilled fish tacos. There simply is not enough fish in the taco. I requested more avocado crema and put both the orange house made salsa and additional avocado cream to my tacos. The ceviche is not prepared traditionally and had an ailoi. There was also not much seafood in the dish. The chips that came with the ceviche didn't taste fresh. They were not warm, no signs of grease and were actually kinda hard. Lastly, my friend ordered a caesar salad. It was odd to see kale in the salad and according to him, the whole salad tasted off. He felt it was prepared with a different type of dressing. I didn't try it. Long story short, come for the brews and the view, the food, not so much. Service was great.

Viewpoint Brewing Company [[HIGHLIGHT]]A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The combination of scenic wetland views, refreshing craft beers, and beautiful golden-hour lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to stay longer than planned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating area is spacious and comfortable, making it a great place to gather with friends, family, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was enjoyable, the beers were refreshing, and the overall experience was made even better by the peaceful surroundings and stunning sunset views. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for great drinks, good food, and one of the most relaxing waterfront settings in North County San Diego. Atmosphere: 10/10 Views: 10/10 Drinks: 9/10 Overall Experience: Highly Recommended

We stopped by Viewpoint Brewing Co. without a reservation and were seated right away at one of their communal tables. The shared seating and beautiful views made for the perfect setting. there's nothing better than enjoying a fun evening with friends while meeting new ones along the way. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and quick. We enjoyed a glass of wine from their well-curated selection and were especially happy to find a Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The flatbread was warm and soft, and the mac and cheese was rich and wonderfully creamy. Overall, a great spot for good food, good drinks, and great company. Parking is a pain--$20 bucks at the lot. Or $6 valet.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The places got some nice seating and views[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and I don't drink beer so there's no review on that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some TVs with sports going[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but the real negativity is the food. I did not like the farmers burger and chose the salad over the fries with just plain lettuce.. The burger was hard to eat. I tried to cut through. It could not do to their fried onions. My friend got the fish and chips and he did not like it at all. Also, it's important to know that there is no free parking either pay a dollar per 15 minutes or six dollars valet

    Is their vallet free?

I believe it was $5 on Saturday during my last visit

    Do they accept cash?

    Yes

Are there TVs? Would this be a good spot to watch football?

This is not a sports bar vibe. I wouldn't recommend for games.

Is there a happy hour menu?

I don't think so. More like Happy to get a parking spot and Happy to get a seat, especially if the weather's good.

Do they have any vegan options?

Yes, a great veggie mezze type entree and other sides and salads that are vegan or vegetarian and could be made vegan.

    What is parking like here?

they have their own (tiny) lot. Theres a dirt lot paid parking as you turn on the road. Beware they limit you to two hours so dont pay for more parking time!

    Is there a dress code?

Shoes and shirt required. Flip flops welcomed.

Do they allow dogs? Inside or outside?

    They allow dogs

    How's their happy hour?

No happy hour but great prices all day

Does this place offer any drinks other than beer? Have a gluten allergy but going with a group. Thanks.

They offer wine - no hard alcohol, and may have a gluten-free beer? You may want to give them a call - they are very helpful!

    Is it kid friendly?

Yes, there's outside seating that is nice

    Is this place kid friendly?

There is an area for planning but not generally a kid environment

    Is this dog friendly?

i am not a dog....but i've seen dogs there. you could ask them

    Is the food good?

It's good, not great. I found it priced high for the portions/value, but good accompaniment to beer.

I am interested in dining here but the wine prices look outrageous. Really? By the way, I'm talking about the bottles of wine, not by the glass...especially the premium bottles.

Let me see if I get this straight...you're going to a brewery. For wine. And the prices don't suit you. Especially the premium bottles? I want you to read that back again. Say it out loud.

That was cool. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable of their products. I ordered their Citrus Celery juice. For a celery juice, it was well balanced with flavors of orange, apple, grapes, and grapefruit. My fiancé ordered the beet root smoothie with the cacao chips. This was also good. A little bit on the sweet side especially for being beet based. But still very refreshing and also well balanced out with the cacao. The açaí bowl was the best I ever had. The presentation said it all. It was paired well with green apple, raspberries, bananas, walnuts, all the oats, maybe Nutella drizzle and coconut shavings with Greek yogurt. I was down for a second bowl. But it was very filling. Once again a perfect blend of everything. We also tried the avocado toast. I was happy to see that this dish came with more than just avocado and toast. They included an egg arugula, and a tomato. Nowadays, that is way more than what other cafes offer. I thought it was a good price for what you got.

The menu is a little bit different than I remember, but still focuses on fresh and healthy. The girl working at the front used to also work at the PB Location and she's very friendly and knowledgeable. She also gave us samples of the berry smoothie and the green juice to try. I went with the golden milk latte to drink, and it was fabulous. I did have them add a shot of espresso to it because when I was ordering a latte, I definitely was looking for caffeine. It's lovely with turmeric, cinnamon, oat milk, MCT oil and black pepper. I also ordered the Hot Chick salad. It came out looking gorgeous. The salad tasted really good, the chicken was seasoned nicely, and I liked the different textures with the rice, the quinoa and the roasted corn. The dressing was super tasty too. When I got towards the end of my salad, my last few pieces of avocado were bad. It wasn't a dealbreaker for my experience, but I would've definitely preferred that they would've left those pieces out. Also, the little toasted cracker things tasted like cardboard, dry and flavorless. I probably should've tried scooping up some of the salad with them, but I left them on the plate. Overall, I would definitely return to this location. You cannot beat them if you are looking for something fast, casual, and healthy. Definitely not on the cheap though, my salad and latte were $34 before tip, but I don't mind paying for good quality food that is fresh and healthy.

I saw I had already bookmarked it for their highly rated fish and chips, and it was only half a mile away so we decided to walk. After we passed the train tracks we took a left and had a quarter mile walk straight up the hill! Everyone here was super friendly, great customer service and was surprised to see how packed it was late afternoon on a Tuesday. Our server later told us it's like that every night. We had to wait about 15-20 mins for our table but we were fine, then got seated right by the window. The view was amazing, drinks were strong, and some excellent fish and chips and appetizers. The bar even gave a little speech, where the bartender read a poem, apparently a nightly tradition. Cool touch. Great place for families, groups or couples. Recommend!

I tried to explain that my mother does not speak English very well, but instead of handling the situation professionally, Hope accused me of being rude, told us to leave, and threatened to call the police. Her behavior made both my mother and me feel very upset, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. She also stood very close to us and made physical contact by touching me, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. No customer should be treated this way. We came to your business hoping to enjoy ourselves and receive good service, but instead we experienced rude, aggressive, and unacceptable treatment from a manager. I hope senior management will address this situation seriously so that no other customers have to go through the same experience. Because of this incident, we do not feel comfortable returning to that location.

I've always loved Nick's in Del Mar, and it's been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and it couldn't have been any better. The food was prepared perfectly--not overly salty like I've experienced on some previous visits, but balanced and delicious. Every bite was exactly how it should be. Whoever was leading the kitchen on 7/7/26 deserves recognition. Thank you! The food was absolutely perfect, and it felt like some positive changes may have been made behind the scenes because the quality was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. Our server had the perfect personality--friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we were well taken care of without being overbearing. It was exactly the kind of hospitality that enhances a great meal. I'm so glad to see things operating at this level. Everything--from the food to the service--was just right. Keep up the great work, and kudos to the GM and the entire team at Nick's Del Mar for delivering such an excellent experience. I'll definitely be back!

I prefer friendly banter w the service, as it makes bar dining a fun event. The GF ordered the bountiful Cioppino, and I ordered a Caesar, as the hunger bone had not hit. The Cioppino sauce had a nice spice to it, as I had to sample. The Caesar also good. All topped with an old world Pinot Noir to seal the deal. I love Nick's Del Mar as it has the indoor/outdoor seating. Never had an average meal at Nick's (whether Del Mar or Carlsbad).
