Came in durringva full water fireand they were still able to seat us pretty quick! They were really good about accomodations and special requests, I added red sauce to a white pizza and it was so good. Over all quick service, yummy food, and good atmosphere.

Stopped in for afternoon munchies. Nice list of appetizers. Had chowder, meatballs, and pretzels. All were very good. Nice atmosphere and good service. From the Marriott Courtyard there is a stairway down from the parking lot to the restaurant. This makes it very convenient if you are staying at the hotel. A nice alternative to the Courtyard's bistro.

Came in for a snack and drinks on a Monday afternoon. The place was nearly empty and I sat at the bar and was helped right away. It has a great patio area and a bunch of indoor seating. "Appy Hour" is 3-6 during the week. I ordered wings and a flight of their home brews. Mostly light beers with two IPA's. All were good sipping beers. The wings are really good. Much better than your typical sports bar. Definitely would recommend visiting.

Was in town for one night, and Union Station Brewery was within walking distance to our hotel. We got spinach and artichoke dip, Mac n cheese , burger, and meatball sandwich. Food was very good except meatballs. Hard to describe, and maybe being from another state we're used to meatballs a certain way, but I suggest sticking with bar type food at Union Station.

Hadn't been here in years. Dropped in for an early dinner on a Thursday evening and decided to sit at the already busy bar. The beer menu does not include prices, and does not specify whether they are on-tap or in cans. Found out when the bill arrived the prices were over ten dollars each for canned beer. It could have been 'worth it', but it wasn't. A 'double' mixed drink was made in a short glass. It was a generous pour, and after ice was added, there was almost zero space for the mixer. So a glass of vodka. Thanks. The menu is bar food. Prices are high for the area.

Being away from home for a week, you kinda get a hankering for comfort foods. One of them is a good burger and a cold beer. I walked from my hotel to Union Station Brewery. The restaurant is deceiving from the outside, the place is huge! When I walked in after 5, the place was packed out. I was able to grab the last remaining spot at the bar. Once I sat down, the bartender sets me up with silverware. I ask him about a few of the beers on tap and I settle on a local brew. My burger comes to me pretty quickly. Nice thick patty that was cooked perfectly. Now add some thick ass steak fries? This is what I'd make at home, a nice burger on the grill with a cold beer. Try to come early and get to Union Station Brewery, great selection of beers on tap and they make a good burger.

Ask the Community - Union Station Brewery - Providence

Are there TVs outside where we could sit with our dogs to watch the World Cup? We're traveling with dogs in tow.... Thanks!

    No on the outside

Is this a good place to watch a game?

I'd say, yes. There were an extensive amount of televisions; they also have a projected screen on the wall as you walk in.

I do wish there were some lower chairs instead of all tall stools or the back nook - yaknow, for us short / awkward people. The outdoor areas out front or in back are dreamy in the warm weather, when they also open the garage door and let the warm air flow through (I once got pretty bit up in the back area outside though, so pro tip: wear pants or bug spray). Dogs are welcome here and I love to see the furry cuties visit. They offer multiple types of dog treats for four legged customers, which is such a thoughtful touch! The beer is focused on authentic, European lager / pilsner styles and doesn't switch up very often. Their beers are not very sweet, but they usually offer multiple types of pilsners and lagers at any given moment. The styles they specialize in are not my most favorite, which is my only reason for removing a star, but take a look at the menu - if those styles are your jam, they seem to be pretty authentic and you will probably love them. I usually go for the Pink Lemonade Seltzer and it's great and very fizzy. I went today as part of The Big Lebrewsky and they offered a "tasting," which to my delight consisted of a flight of 3 - very generous! I got the Coffee Stout (very strong), Irish Red (smoother and I enjoyed more than I thought- a solid choice!), and the Czech Pilsner (very light and goes down smoothly/easily). I loved this opportunity to branch out to some styles I don't always go for when I'm here. Special shout out to mascot Stella who always makes my day when she makes an appearance. It's usually easy to find street parking here, although the street has a decent amount of potholes, so keep an open eye lol. A cozy, fun place in a relaxed part of Providence just off the highway that's easy to access - great for an afternoon weekend or casual date night.

The two met when they both worked at a brewery in Honolulu. Once returning to Rhode Island, the couple decided to open their own gastropub in Stephanie's hometown of Westerly. Dubbed "The Malted Barley", the business focused on craft beer paired with gourmet pretzel sandwiches. The pretzel dough is made fresh daily, and every pretzel is rolled and stuffed by hand. After much success, the Bennetts looked to franchise their business model. After signing a licensing agreement with investor Ron Koller, a second Malted Barley opened in Providence in March 2016. In March 2023, the Bennetts closed the original Malted Barley in Westerly so that they could focus on their flower farm, Echo Rock Flowers, as well as their family. The Malted Barley in Providence continues to run under the ownership of Ron Koller. I visited the original Westerly location of the Malted Barley in 2014 while I was on a craft beer bus tour. I was so impressed with their excellent craft beer selection and delicious gourmet pretzels that I decided to make the gastropub a stop on my craft beer bachelor party bus tour three years later. I was very sad when I heard that the original location closed down, but I took comfort in knowing that a second location still existed in Providence. I recently visited the Providence location for lunch while I was passing through the area. When I walked in, I immediately smelled the freshly baked pretzels. For food, I ordered the "Barley Bacon Beast Burger" (75 % beef 25 % bacon patty, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, more bacon w/ a side of ketchup) on an Everything Pretzel. It really hit the spot. I must add that these pretzels are essentially a hybrid between traditional Bavarian pretzels and New York-style bagels: salty and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. While looking over the beer menu, I was surprised to see that the Malted Barley now brews their own house beer in addition to guest taps. I ordered a taster flight that featured Malted Barley's "Banana Bread" (Traditional Ale) and "Monster Juice" (Hazy IPA), as well as Long Live Beerworks' "Invisible IPA" (hazy IPA) and Phantom Farms Brewing's "Coarse Woody Debris" (Saison). All of the beers were very refreshing and paired nicely with my pretzel sandwich. I still miss the original Westerly location, but it's nice to know that you can still find delicious pretzels sandwiches paired with craft beer just a little further away.

Anyways, I wish I was able to chill a bit and have a drink cause their tap list was on point. Check out my pic. The grilled cheese was super delicious. What a great idea to use pretzels as the vessel for all sandwiches. I told my hubby next time we're in the area, we're def stopping by for another pretzel sammy and a beer... or two.
