Always a shame to discover a place right at the end of their run- although I suppose that's when you find out how it REALLY is. There's less than a week left, but the staff still ran a great trivia night, meticulously cleaned every bar mat and counter, and treated the latecomers at the bar like they were regulars- no closing early here!. (thanks A!) It's hard to be in a high profile spot in the heart of an urban renewal movement, and some days your gonna miss. The Marriott front desk suggested Union Station Brewery, and I have to be honest - all I heard was "Brewery" and I was IN. I asked where is this Brewery? The front desk replied 1/2 a block from here. DOUBLE IN!! Had the Woonsocket local IPA and the Angel Chicken Enchiladadas. TRIFECTA!!! The chicken enchiladas were the best I've had. Tender enough to cut with your fork and firm enough to be picked up by the fork in one piece. No knife needed. The Woonsocket IPA was a solid pairing. Ate at the bar and enjoyed friendly conversation with the bar keeps. Well done Union Station, I will be back. read more

Decided to try this place and it wasn't too bad! The food was good for some and lacked for others. My grandma and sister had the French toast. They said it was good and fluffy. My sister asked for more syrup and they actually charged us $1 for the ramekin of syrup! Never been to a place that charged for more syrup! We weren't even told that it would be an extra cost. For service, the customers need to be awared. My grandma asked for soft scrabble eggs, which was cooked perfectly to her liking. I had the Nashville hot chicken and waffles with fries. The waffles was cooked a bit too long. The chicken was very juicy but was not hot at all. For Nashville hot, I expected a lot more and I was very disappointed. On the menu, it said drizzled with syrup but there wasn't really any syrup at all. If it was for the chicken being juicy, that sandwhich would of been so dry!!! Yet the fries were good! Service could of been better. Our waitress was nice but barely checked on us. When asking for syrup the first time with another waitress, she said ok but went straight to her table that was near us to take orders. So waited another 5 or so minutes until a lady (who seemed like a manager) came by and we asked again. read more

Union Station Brewery is your standard brew pub. Conveniently located in downtown near the current train station it is highly walkable. I appreciated the cool & unique history of the building while enjoying one of their many own brews. I did not find a food item or beer that really stood out to me but I look forward to returning & trying some other options to one day find a favorite. read more

USB was fine - maybe not my taste, but good for a quick bite. Very convenient location - short walk away from the mall. Their menu was pretty basic - burgers, fries, - nothing to write home about. I thought their sweet chili wings were pretty good and their bacon jam burger wasn't bad. Our service was really nice and we got seated pretty fast even though it was packed on a Friday night. I can definitely tell that this is a place to grab a beer or drink before going to a game or even to watch a game, so I'd recommend it if that's your vibe. read more

We swung by here for dinner on a Sunday night and they weren't busy at all. They have a beautiful outdoor space that was perfect for our two big dogs. They even have a dog menu! We ordered a chicken breast to split for the dogs, a pizza for our son, a salad for my husband and then I had the pulled pork with fries. Everything was well done. The pizza was spectacular and the dogs really liked the chicken. Overall fantastic experience and we will come back again! read more

From the Marriott Courtyard there is a stairway down from the parking lot to the restaurant. This makes it very convenient if you are staying at the hotel. Great food, great drinks, great location in downtown PVD and great service. My family enjoyed the food here a couple times. (Burgers, fish tacos, calamari, wings, nachos, pizza, soups, lava cake, apple crisp and so much more) My work friends really enjoyed the beer and drinks. Wow! What a disaster, two mice can up the wall, and after the waitress told the manager there was no response. Had to ask for a manager to show up. There was NO concern. Came in for a snack and drinks on a Monday afternoon. The place was nearly empty and I sat at the bar and was helped right away. It has a great patio area and a bunch of indoor seating. "Appy Hour" is 3-6 during the week. I ordered wings and a flight of their home brews. Mostly light beers with two IPA's. All were good sipping beers. The wings are really good. Much better than your typical sports bar. Definitely would recommend visiting. read more

Food was very good except meatballs. Hard to describe, and maybe being from another state we're used to meatballs a certain way, but I suggest sticking with bar type food at Union Station. read more

Hadn't been here in years. Dropped in for an early dinner on a Thursday evening and decided to sit at the already busy bar. The beer menu does not include prices, and does not specify whether they are on-tap or in cans. Found out when the bill arrived the prices were over ten dollars each for canned beer. It could have been 'worth it', but it wasn't. A 'double' mixed drink was made in a short glass. It was a generous pour, and after ice was added, there was almost zero space for the mixer. Being away from home for a week, you kinda get a hankering for comfort foods. One of them is a good burger and a cold beer. I walked from my hotel to Union Station Brewery. The restaurant is deceiving from the outside, the place is huge! When I walked in after 5, the place was packed out. I was able to grab the last remaining spot at the bar. Once I sat down, the bartender sets me up with silverware. I ask him about a few of the beers on tap and I settle on a local brew. My burger comes to me pretty quickly. Nice thick patty that was cooked perfectly. Now add some thick ass steak fries? This is what I'd make at home, a nice burger on the grill with a cold beer. Try to come early and get to Union Station Brewery, great selection of beers on tap and they make a good burger. read more

I'm giving two stars because the server was friendly when at the table- albeit overall very inattentive. The food was horrible. Chowder the standard stuff all restaurants buy. Here is another downtown Providence brewery. It almost is like it's hiding just in plain sight pretty much. Union Station Brewery is hidden among the big hotels and it can be hard to find the first time. On the draft list they only have a few house beers but these all kick ass. There's also small bites and platters. I found out about this as we looked for local breweries. Pretty convenient this is also located close to another downtown brewery we were able to check out. This also happens to be near the train station so the name of this is very appropriate and is a good stop on the way back there. Kind of hard to find at first. This is located on almost a basement under one of the buildings near the Marriott. I had a Sparkle City Sour and liked it. It's $6 for most of the draft pints. This is a cherry and noyaux sour ale with some tartness. It was the best in my opinion. We also ordered the House Sourdough. It's $4 for the appetizer. This is something that's nice to munch on. Good place for craft beers if you can find it. It also has a New England inspired menu with items like chowder and seafood. There's not a whole lot for vegetarians. read more

I highly recommend the calamari. It was one of the best calamari's I have ever had (perfect texture, perfectly cooked, not chewy, etc.) The beer was good (the type of it eludes me now). They offer you samples to try before you make a choice, which was greatly appreciated. The service was great. Overall it was a great experience, but I am giving it four stars because it is not somewhere where I would say is a PERFECT 5 stars and I NEED to go back. But it did what it needed to do, and I would recommend others to try it for themselves. Also, word of advice: This is one of the only restaurants (or establishment for that matter) in Providence on a Monday. I highly suggest you consider this before traveling to Providence. read more

I attended a private event here while in town for a conference. Our organization booked the upper level where food was provided but we had to pay for our own drinks. The food was fantastic; nachos, fried mozzarella, and chicken tenders (which normally I don't care for or am impressed by, but these were SO tender and juicy). Despite us being a very large group, the servers did not seem overwhelmed or stressed; they were SO fantastic. They went out of their way to be super helpful and were very impressive. Went to Union Station on a Sunday evening before a PPAC performance. A vegetarian and a carnivore and this place satisfied us both. The brussel sprout appetizer was terrific. Good salad choices and even cauliflower tacos. The clam chowder and fish and chips were fresh and very good. Cool location and very comfortable. Will go again! read more

Solid beer choices, this place has some of the better IPAs I have had around Rhode Island, their staple, Friartown was good, but it would be nice if it was on tap. Cranston Thug life is also a solid IPA choice. Food was solid, got spinach/artichoke dip, and nachos...all were great! Surrounding area was a.little sketchy park across the street. I had the clam chowder, did not disappoint and a meatball sub and fries. The meatballs and sauce were amazing and I found out all of it was house made. This last visit to USB was not great. The restaurant was not even very full on a Monday night and I had to wait a LONG time for the food to be delivered. I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and they told me they were out of Fries.....Wait....a full size restaurant runs out of Fries ?!?!!!!??? And this is like 7pm....not 10pm when ready to close. Had to get the onion rings instead. The chicken was dry and not good tasting. The onion rings were greasy. The focus of this establishment seems to be more on the Live Music component...where they have lots of live music events several times a week. After seeing their pizza special listed on the goProvidence Pizza Week website, we decided to try their pizza. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken pizza, along with the beer, and found it to be average. The pizza did have all the potential to be so much more, but there were some flaws. First of all, it was not 'hot', as it was medium, at best. Then it was impossible to get all of the ingredients on the pizza into one bite, so there was no real way to see if the pizza was better. In other words, one bite would have the chicken, the next the pickle, and the next the scallions, and the last, just cheese. The prep team really should have cut up those toppings smaller, so that we could incorporate them all, or at least two to three of them, into one bite. The potential is there for a savory pizza, but they did not deliver. read more
