    Upstairs dinning

Union Street Market is a great addition to the Fort Wayne downtown scene. On this occasion we only experienced the eating area and outside street. We did not get to use the parking garage or the shopping areas. The outside is very attractive and keeps the flavor of the old GE facility. The designers did a great job and giving you an attractive/vintage but modern feel with the brick facades and streets. The lighting is fresh and very attractive. All areas are in great repair as everything is new. The eating area is large and wide open. Lots of walking room and dinning tables. Lots of area to gather in a group of 4 to 8 people. There are several eateries and drinking establishments to serve you. Not a huge variety. You probably should check out the options to see if they fit your pallet if you plan to go and stay a longer time. Overall the place is very unique and a must visit. It will be interesting to see how the facility develops with more shops and condo living. I can see that Union Street will be a lot of fun in the warmer weather as the interior of the building in bordered by garage doors to let the outside in.

Great spot in FW. Many options and all the vendors are great. Love the Saturday farmers market outside. Some of the vendors are a bit slow with service, not typically a quick to go meal. Such a great spot on Friday nights too, the atmosphere is awesome.

You go Fort Wayne! Great addition to the city. You can definitely tell it's new/recently opened, as kinks are being worked out and it's not all the way finished. Super clean, good flow to the area, and lots of seating areas! We tried out Brooks BBQ and The Charlie Horse. BBQ was superb. Rib tips, Mac and cheese, wings, and fries...chef's kiss. Drinks from The Charlie Horse were good. TVs are interestingly placed at the bar which makes it hard to see. So don't plan on watching the big game there. There was a Winter Market happening when we went. Cute, quaint market with just a handful of vendors. Cannot wait to see what else is in store!

To ok the teenager to Union street market yesterday thinking that there would be little shops she could shop at and I could have some local flair. We found street parking that was close to the walk way by the parking garage. It was around 11:30 and always getting packed! Went to the East wing first where it's mostly local doing of food good such as meat cheese seafood. Stopped at the seafood market called B&B, and picked up some alligator. $25 lb. Pricey but soo worth it. It was fresh and very lean. Quite guy working and they are slow due to only one person helping everyone. Their seafood looked very fresh. Def worth going to. Next we're stopped at the Grabil shop for some cheese. Picked up some smoked bacon cheddar, pepperoni cheddar and bruschetta cheddar all at about $5.50 lb. They also made deli sandwiches. They were friendly and slow as well due to one person working. Long lines at every place we stopped at. We also took a look at some other places but didn't buy anything. Next was the West wing, much more busy than the East wing. As you enter there is Conjure coffee that has a long line and it blocks the entrance. Very congested. Then you see a pizzeria, a brewery, distillary and a few other places to eat. In the middle there are tables to sit down and eat or if you are 21 you can sit at the bar rails and have a cocktail or a beer. FYI it's-a little more pricey than if you went somewhere else to eat or drink so bring your money! It was extremely loud and overwhelming for my teenager who sometimes gets overwhelmed with crowds and today was the day this happened. She started having an anxiety attack and we ended up leaving without trying any food. It's very industrial inside and not warming at all. It has an upstairs where the restrooms are and more seating. I was disappointed that it was only dinning and basically food store places. Although it woukd be a Cool date night night or hang with your buddies or gal pals I didn't feel it was very family oriented. There isn't an outdoor area to enjoy your food uor to have the littles play anywhere like other places I've visited like this. I hope to see it grow to more shopping stores, outside areas to dine areas and areas for selfies, and kids playing. Below are shots of the inside and mural in the walk way. I would like to go again to try some eateries but would leave my teenager behind because it became too overwhelming for her.

New/Modern facility, large variety of cultural food and places to choose from. Vendor employees are extremely willing to help. Prices are somewhat on the higher side, however it is a nice "middle class" experience. The Union Street Market is very beautiful however.

Ask the Community - Union Street Market

    Is there free parking?

There is a limited amount of street parking between the buildings. The parking garage typically gives you two free hours on the weekends. You could park free at George's International Market and walk over.

    Are dogs allowed?

I sure you could bring your comfort dog. Animals for animal sake...should stay outside.

That right there told me they don't mind being different in the style of food they serve! After checking over the menu full of wraps and burgers amongst a plethora of other bar food I ended up getting some wings to try and the house made chips. I got half my wings in the BBQ flavor and the other Buffalo. Being honest the wings weren't anything special but they did hit the spot and the BBQ sauce wasn't anything special to me on the wings but if it was used in some pulled pork or ribs I believe I would enjoy it more. The buffalo sauce was really good and had just enough heat to need the ranch here and there. The house made chips were good, not overly seasoned and not over cooked either. The place is small but has a handful of high top round tables and a few bigger square tables in the front with a decent bar strip with plenty of bottles and beers on tap. The pool table in the side room looked like a great area to hang around and play some pool while enjoying some beers with the company of friends. Next time I'm in town I will try one of their countless burger options!

We went to go celebrate my husband's birthday and our server had too many tables because the service wasn't the best. She was okay but for their prices we shouldn't be waiting to get refills for a while. We received 3 of our 4 meals an hour after ordering. I ordered a pizza and I knew it takes 30 minutes but my entire family was done eating and I asked the server if it was almost done. She said the cooks didn't know. I'm going to guess it was never rang in. Because it was pushing 1.5 hrs and it wasn't close to being done? They were steady but I wouldn't say busy. They had plenty of staff on but our server had a lot of tables. We left and she took the pizza off and apologized but I don't think that's enough when one person leaves and doesn't get dinner. If the kitchen was behind, if the pizzas were taking longer, if the service wasn't going to be lacking "just be honest at the beginning". Honestly was truly disappointing and not a good visit.

Dash In - historic downtown breakfast or lunch option…read more First off...Dash In won't appeal to everyone. The prices are a bit high compared to other places with similar food items. Parking may be a challenge depending on the time of day. And the dinning area is small. Dash In has been a downtown Fort Wayne eatery option for many years. They are located on Calhoun Street next to Pint & Slice and a couple blocks south of the court house. This restaurant has retained the vintage building feel. The interior brick and wood work are very attractive to go along with the more modern decor. The bar is very attractive. They have a very small street level outside patio if that is your preference. The shop is very small. I'm guessing the bar seats about 10 people. The main dinning area probably seats about 40. The team here is very friendly and welcoming. They hustle to serve. We went on a late Sunday afternoon and didn't not have to wait. I don't think they take reservations. There are lots of people coming and going with carry out orders. Today we had no problem finding a street parking spot. There is a parking garage nearby if no street spots are available. The menu is actually fairly broad. They have a special brunch menu along with a breakfast all day menu. There were several sandwiches and wraps available. A couple salads too. The coffee and alcoholic drink menus were very large. We didn't have either of these products this time so I can't give you any feedback on them. They have a special soup du jour and deli side selection. Today it was a mushroom arugula soup and caprese salad side. My wife loves breakfast and ordered a make-to-order omelette with a side of grilled vegetables. She really liked the light tasting eggs and fresh tasting vegetables. The tomato bisque soup is one of their staples. It is delicious and would be great with a grilled cheese sandwich from the menu. The soup was smooth and creamy. It had a gentle tomato flavor along with a more predominant milk/cream base. The soup surprisingly has a stronger spicy after taste - still outstandingly delicious! The side salad is very simple. It has a combination of fresh spring mix lettuce along with a minimal amount of onion, cheese and red pepper. The honey mustard dressing was smooth, creamy, thick and a bit spicy. It was mild on the honey/sweet taste while stronger on the mustard accent. The Italian panini sandwich was very good. The ciabatta bread was slightly grilled with a firmer exterior but not crunchy. The bread had a very freshly baked taste. The sandwich had a high quality tasting ham, pepperoni, salami and provolone cheese. The meats weren't piled high...but enough to get the flavor from each. The grilled onions and banana peppers gave the sandwich a nice zing. The pleasant aioli sauce moistened the sandwich and blended the spicy meats with the zippy onions and banana peppers. Overall the food quality was excellent yet a bit more costly than you might expect. The service was spot on and helped make it a pleasant dinning experience. The older building design, if you like that, adds to the overall experience. Give them a try!

The drinks come from the Tough Tap Room. I Gad the watermelon mojito which had a very refreshing taste. My daughter had the hoppy water. She liked the slight beer flavoring without the alcohol. The pizzas here are very good. In general the pizza is slightly thin but has a bit of a chewy crust. The crust appears to be well cooked but still comes out moist and tasty. All pizzas are 12 inches in size. A 12" pizza is enough for two people to share. The Bhan Mi pizza has a nice Thai taste. The topping were very fresh and the sauce has a bit of a zip to it. The meat pizza had plenty of toppings. The Italian sausage and pepperoni had a good spice to go along with the cheese. The Packed Supremo pizza was a nice "supreme" option. There were plenty of veggie and meat toppings. Give these two places a try!
