I absolutely love this place. I've been here with my fianceé many times and we usually order to take out. The folks who run the place are so nice. Their breakfast sandwiches are to DIE for. My favorite sandwich is the hottie though the other breakfast sandwiches are also incredibly delicious. I'm not sure there's anywhere else in Philly that would beat this place when it comes to the pure art of making a breakfast sandwich. One of my favorite things to do on a weekend morning is to get a breakfast sandwich from Lisa's. The deliciousness of these sandwiches makes my entire weekend.

Simple, classic, and fairly priced. Always a great experience. I really like the steak, egg, and cheese on a long roll

No nonsense cash only breakfast joint with tasty sandwiches. I ordered the ham egg and cheese topped with hash browns on a long roll. I think its called the Farm Hand. The bread was soft and chewy. It did its job of highlighting the sandwich contents well. Inside lay a generous helping of fresh fried eggs, crispy hash browns, thick slices of country ham, and salty American cheese. This was a massive and delicious sandwich with lots of salt, fat, and flavor. Great for a Saturday breakfast.

Went for breakfast, which is what you will be going there for as well cause of their hours. In short I loved the place. Run by two people who enjoy what they do and are proud of the place. I got the varsity (long roll). Ordered half to eat there and half to go home. The bread/meat/egg/cheese ratios are SPOT ON. I know the picture makes it look like it might be bread heavy but it works. The varsity is a big sandwich so plan accordingly. It's a solid breakfast sandwich spot. I felt good leaving Lisa's kitchen. All sandwiches come with egg, cheese, and that wonderful hash brown. You pretty much play around with the meat choices. I got the scrapple since I am new to Philadelphia. I liked it. I am not sure if everyone will. It's like meat loaf made with pork. The vibes are cool, plus it's one of those places that has sassy quotes on their wall and I am a sucker for those kind of places.

This place is a mom and pop place where you truly wish the owners were your parents. The sandwiches are ridiculously good, made fresh in front of you, and all come with a hash brown in your PEC? Phenomenal. The bread is great too and the prices are on point. What more could you ask for? I'm trying to become a regular because it is thaaat good, and the vibes in there were amazing. The owners know everybody who walks in, and they're super friendly and warm. Please visit this place, you won't regret it. Also FYI they're cash only!

Great breakfast sandwiches in a tiny shop. If you're looking for a meal on a roll at a reasonable price, check this place out. One recommendation is call in your order. First, there's not much room to wait. Second, they go until closing or until they're out of rolls, so you know you'll get your food.

It's Sunday morning, you just woke up and you're sooooooo hungry but you don't have time or want to pay for expensive brunch. Well good news for you! Lisas kitchen is the perfect quick breakfast spot! So many options (they even have turkey bacon) and lisa and her husband keep prices low so your huge bagel sandwich doesn't break the bank. My boyfriend and I finally made it here this weekend and we're so happy to support this yummy neighborhood spot!

Stopped here after a nearby yoga class. The smell of bacon greets you as enter the shop. The owners (a husband and wife) greet you. She mans the grill while he jots down your order. I got a breakfast platter: the hash brown was crispy without excess oil, the eggs were exactly as ordered, bacon thick and perfectly crunchy and the coffee was fresh and hot. I will definitely stop by again if I find myself in this area. Ps street parking was readily available. Bring cash as it's the only form of payment they accept.

Wow! What a hidden gem ! I've driven past this lil place in the tuck , sooooo many times and never noticed it until I went on maps in my phone and searched breakfast & brunch so glad I did. Called in my order and the guy was so nice . Enormous Sandwiches for the money , it was excellent keep up the great job. I'm a very picky person so this a great find for me will definitely tell friends and return again soon

If you have yet to try one of Lisa's breakfast sandwiches, shame on you. Cash only. Call ahead or drop in to place your order, and chat with the wonderful owners as they whip up your breakfast right in front of you. There are a few seats if you decide to dine in. Food is cheap, comes in two sizes, the baby and regular versions, and is OUT OF THIS WORLD

I visited for lunch during Restaurant Week, which I enjoyed because of its close proximity to the corporate hub in Center City where I work and for its solid menu. I was seated quickly at a high-top for my noon reservation. The restaurant is much larger inside than it looks, split in half with the left providing an upscale bar aesthetic while the right presents a quieter, modern lounge feel. (It seemed like service staff was directing those with previously-booked OpenTable RSVPs to the lounge side.) Service was great, as my waitress continuously checked in during my meal even as more customers arrived throughout the lunch period. I appreciated being offered to add fries on my burger order, as Village Whiskey didn't have it automatically added on the RW menu. The only drawback was she forgot to ask how I wanted my burger cooked, but it came out medium rare which is the way I eat it regardless. I trust that's how they default, which is a good sign. The Food Breakdown: Deviled Eggs (4/5) - Classic, solid, and a good starter. I honestly selected it since the other appetizer options didn't really appeal to me, but nothing spectacular or negative about it. Four comes with each order. All-American Burger (5/5) - Fantastic. I'm not a pickle enjoyer, but the acidity just blended into each juicy bite. The jam had a slight kick, and you can taste the fattiness within the double Wagyu smash patties. High-quality all around and a solid portion size. Duck Fat Fries (4/5) - They were well-seasoned, and each order comes with a small side of ketchup. Granted I didn't ask, but I almost wish they offered a spicy mayo instead because it would complement the crunchiness better. Overall, the food quality and taste were superb. My only caveat was the price, knowing that $35 after tax and gratuity for lunch (without an additional drink) is costly. I wouldn't be able to come everyday, but it certainly has my vote for sharing with others the destination that has an immaculate burger.

So unholy for a Mac and cheese lover like myself... but it was too acidic for me. I couldn't keep eating it. So I'm basing this review solely on the food. The service seemed ok? On a whim, I called Butcher Bar and told them I know it's last minute on a Saturday night, but could they accommodate 9 people. They told me if we were there in 30 minutes they could make it work, so we rushed over. We sat at the bar for drinks as they cleaned up a table. They overheard us talking about how The Trough would be nice (feeds 8 for $300, but was more than enough for us 9), and said if we wanted that they could get it started as the table was prepared. We said yes, and were sat a few minutes later with drinks in hand. Jenna (Gema? She had grape earrings) was a fantastic server and just so kind and attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and The Trough arrived sooner than I expected and was everything I wanted for dinner and more. I can't thank Butcher Bar enough for saving the night for my 40th and just providing a fantastic experience. We'll be back, and we promise to give more notice next time! :)

It was much better than their root vegetable soup, and I was quite fond of that soup. It's honestly nothing like anything else on the menu. It has an indian? maybe? taste to it. It's so good. there is these juicy white raisins inside, some sliced almonds (not treenut friendly), and some sort of white yogurt sauce with micro greens. really a fantastic flavor pallet and the actual soup texture is smooth minus the toppings. Cashew Hummus: okay so here's my thing. I find that this restaurant in particular does such a disservice with their menu item descriptions. Based off of the description of this dish, I would think it's probably decent at best, and might not even order it. luckily I had a sixth sense to know this would be amazing. it's truly so good. it's a hummus layer topped with a bunch of seasoned roasted vegetables and chickpeas. The flavors are great and the textures are also great. I wouldn't have known it was cashew hummus if you didn't tell me. it's honestly not that large, so if you really like vegtables and hummus i'd get your own or split with only one person. if everyone is demure, it could go four ways. also! I don't think it comes with bread. it didn't come with bread this recent visit, but I am not sure if that was a mistake or that's how it is. But, to be safe, i'd save your bread you get at the begining to use for this. this is a must get every time I go. Dandelion salad: I only order this for my welsh rarebit. I like to eat my welsh rarebit with some of the salad since the acid cuts the fatty cheese. but, I will say, it's a very good salad. my favorite part is the thinly sliced celery pieces. it has a bunch of varying greens, celery, avocado, cucumber. all dressed in a lemony dressing. it's very simplistic and that's why I think it's so good. it's quite large, and would be a great "for the table" order so that everyone has some fresh bites with their rich entrees. Welsh Rarebit: my favorite. if you don't know what welsh rarebit is, it's basically fancy cheese toast. think proper fondue cheese with Worcestershire, mustard, maybe guinness, melted on a thick piece of toast. so an open faced fancy grilled cheese. it's two big slices of toast. could easily be shared for the table but I prefer my own order. if you get this I recommend also getting the dandelion salad and eating them together. Chocolate Set: I haven't tried their other desserts, but I just know they are a waste of time compared to this. the chocolate set is a dense chocolate mousse with earl gray ice cream, chocolate nibs, and a few orange slices. it's so simple but so so good. texturally, amazing. the smoothness of the mousse with the crunchy nibs is the perfect contrast. the orange is bright, the ice cream is just great on its own and does so well paired with everything else. it can be shared 4 ways if you have demure people. my family of four just orders two and we get half each. that works for us, we would never be able to share one. all in all great service as always, great food, and obviously a gorgeous interior.
