We had flying ants and termites. Unipest came out right away to evaluate the problem for free and gave us several options for treatments with no pressure to decide right away. I was seven months pregnant and we decided to have the house tented and fumigated before the baby came. They assured us it was safe for pregnancy as long as we followed directions for bagging food and removing things from the house as directed. Everything was done on time as scheduled and on the dates we chose. We also had the yard sprayed for ants since I didn't want spray inside (and we got rid of the ants with a home remedy). Needed to get some information about bed bugs since I knew very little about then! I called a few companies like Orkin, Terminix, Western Exterminator and even some smaller exterminator companies. I pretty much got either , " we don't do bed bugs", " we need to go to the house and inspect" or " your looking at around $1500!" When I called Unipest I was told that the manager Cardon was not available, but would call me back. I did get a call back from Cardon within an hour and he said he could be at my house in about 45 minutes since I lived close by in Santa Clarita. Cardon showed up and was very friendly and very informative. He did a complete and thorough inspection of my house and showed me all the small crevices where the bed bugs hide and lay their eggs. I was very Impressed with his knowledge and even his sense of humor. After talking to him for only a few minutes, I could tell this guy was here to help and assist with our problem. Craig gave me a Military discount, that's the ONLY reason why I'm giving one star. TWICE they didn't show up! When I called and left a message, they never returned my call, the second time I called and Amanda, their "new employ" said it was because of the rain." REALLY, the rain, okay, I guess I can see that. "But don't you think a phone call would have been in order here to reschedule. I mean, you didn't return my first phone call and since I didn't have communication with you up until now, for all I know, maybe you didn't show up, TWICE, was maybe because it was the "freebie" you had offered me to which her reply was, "that was inappropriate, I shouldn't have said that" to which I replied, "What tell you my frustration and concerns as your customer! When you say you're going to show up and don't, AT LEAST give the respect and courtesy of returning a phone call, that's just bad business on your part"... her response... "We're not a good fit", then hung up on me!!! I then called Cardon, telling him about the above conversation, he asked, "when do I want to reschedule", I gave him a date... he NEVER called me back! If I could have chosen 10 stars for this company I would have for this review! I never post reviews about companies I use, but for UniPest I posted a Facebook Review and this Yelp Review! Last Saturday we had BEES coming into our house through our chimney! I was freaking out and called every single pest control company in Santa Clarita! Most didn't answer and I had to leave a message and the others who answered required that I be a part of their monthly routes in order to use their emergency services! Finally, I got a referral from a friend and called UniPest at 7pm and they were at my house by 7:30pm on a Saturday Night! This is a Santa Clarita Family owned company and they are amazing. Their products are top of the line and safe for your entire family. Not only did they solve our problem with the bees, but they educated us on the character traits of bees as well. They were in no rush to just "get in and get out". They took their time and totally saved the day because the Lord knows I wouldn't have slept with all of those bees trying to get into our house! I highly recommend UniPest and will never use another pest control service. I have to say that Unipest is now and will forever be the only company that I will use for pest control. I unfortunately live on an ant hill, as does everyone in Castaic from what I have heard. Today I lost it, for over a month I have been dealing with ants EVERYWHERE!! No matter how much I cleaned they still were coming in by the thousands and nothing was working, ant traps, ant spray, cinnamon . But what really did it for me was when they started getting into my bed last night thanks to a couple of crumbs on my baby's diaper, we were getting bit all night by sugar ants. So I called Unipest on a Saturday at 3:30 pm almost in tears because I had been trying to get rid of them all day, and at 4:00 pm Craig was here!! HE HAD DROPPED EVERYTHING HE WAS DOING ON A SATURDAY to come to my home and save me from burning my house down (not really) but I was at my wits end. I can't tell you of another company that would put there life on hold because they knew I needed help and had compassion for my situation and was willing to go out of their way for me and my family. We called a few pest control companies to come and look at our termite problem. Two of them couldn't be bothered, but Cardon at Unipest responded right away. He came out and did a thorough inspection and gave his recommendations without pressuring us in any way. Initially we decided to hold off on doing anything, but a further examination by my husband found more damage then we originally thought. We called Cardon again and he came back to arrange tenting the house. There was a little glitch involving a Sunday that caused the tent to stay up an extra day, but Unipest reduced the price to more than make up for the added inconvenience. Unpest is THE BEST! We live right up against hills in the Castaic area so pests are always on our minds. We have tried other exterminators in the area and were never pleased with their services. They would come & simply, "do their job" and leave. They would spray around the house and say, "you should be good until our next visit...check please!" This year we got a knock on the door and it was Carden from, "Unipest." He didn't pressure us at the door, just told us to keep them in mind if we needed an exterminator. He also informed us of various neighbors...by name, that were experiencing various pest problems. The ants come nearly every summer but THIS summer has been particularly difficult. Simply spraying wasn't the remedy. We decided to give UNIPEST a try. Carden came almost immediately! This guy really knows & loves dealing with BUGS & pests. He listened to our concerns and knew just where to go to find the source of the problem. He walked around the gardens and found THREE huge ant nests! He sprayed them & we all watched as they scurried carrying their eggs in hopes of surviving the disturbance. It was quite a site and we had NO IDEA that our problem was so close by yet so very hard to see! He also sprayed around the house and in doors. We have not seen an ant or bug since!!!!! I called Unipest after I thought I found termites in my guest bedroom. Cardon came out to inspect. Sure enough, I was termites! We set up the appointment to have the house tented and sprayed for six weeks later. However, I was worried they'd do some more damage or even "swarm" before then. Carson offered to spot spray the room (at no charge) and we were good to go until our tenting date. Awesome! We just had the tenting done this past week and it was easy and stress free. I recently moved to Valencia from another state and found some black widow spiders in my backyard. This FREAKED me out as I had never seen one before! I called a friend who referred me to Unipest and after checking out yelp, gave them a call. I called them 5 minutes before closing one day and within 20 minutes Cardon was in my backyard spraying. That's great customer service! There are no contracts to sign up for--they just come out every 2 months to spray and it's a really reasonable price. Plus they'll come out for free within the 2 months if you are still having a problem. I'm so happy to have found this pest control company before I signed up with anyone else! So two nights ago we found a pinhole in our bedroom wall with what appeared to be sawdust dropping out of it! NOOOO! We called Unipest and they came right out the next day! We have dry wood termites and will be having the house tented for fumigation. Cardon was very knowledgable and explained everything that could and should be done. He gave us options to choose from in treating the termites, but since we want to be sure every last termite is dead, we opted for the fumigation. We are really grateful for Unipest.
