I want to start out by saying I didn't notice any sewage smell... thankfully! Nate and I stopped in to this Uniqlo recently while in town because we both bought items that we LOVED from a location in Tokyo. Unfortunately they don't carry the dress that I like but we had fun looking at all the different options. Nate referred to Uniqlo as the "Old Navy of Japan," which I still think is accurate. The prices at this store were definitely higher than in Japan. There are two levels and I saw some great sale items, kids' clothing, and a fun collaboration with Mofusand (cute cat t-shirts). They are known for their collabs with artists and designers, so it's always fun to see what they have in stock. I noticed that they didn't have many extended sizes, with signs indicating to check online for larger sized items. We were there right when they opened so it wasn't busy and the self-checkout lines were quick. Bring your own bag or pay 10 cents for a paper bag.

Learned about the alteration service. I tried it out. I had to wait for 2 hours. The next time I did it, I just came back the following day. Decent and it's free as long as the item cost more than $20 otherwise it's $5 atttww.

Downtown is lucky to have a Uniqlo! They have the best easy simple outfits that are super affordable. There's two levels here in a super spacious location. They had umbrellas ready for purchase for those rainy days. There's a ton of options for the whole family with a separate children's section. I really like the padded bra shirts and tanks that make surviving the humidity more bearable. Checkout is easy by putting items in a deep bin that scans it all magically! Their free membership sometimes has extra $10 off purchase so be sure to sign up.

As we wandered around State street, we spotted Uniqlo and had to pop in. As many mention, the first thing that hits you is the sewage smell...I mean, they have to be able to do something about that, right? The store is two levels, with the lower level holding majority of the goods, and the lesser offensive smell. So we spent most of our time down there. The brand caters to a younger audience, but many of their styles are timeless. I copped an amazing beanie along with a nice set of gloves for $20! And my partner picked up a shirt that he is now looking to order 5 more of. Selection is great and prices are even better. Very affordable given the quality of the clothing. Service is minimal, but that is by design. The checkout process is completely self-guided and easy. No scanning, just toss your items in the basket and the prices pop up. Overall, outside of the putrid smell upon entry, Uniqlo was a solid spot!

Cute clothing and accessories located at this store. Two levels of merchandise to shop. The clothing is moderately priced and good quality. They offer sales on their app. The only downside to this store is how snug it is and the checkout process. The checkout process is self-checkout and always a chore. The line is always long. Overall, a nice store.

I'm a huge fan of Uniqlo clothing! This store is twice as big as Woodfield, so of course more inventory and more selection. However because of that, it definitely feels a little tight when you are walking around inside. One nice addition this store has the print your own t-shirt feature and some special Chicago t-shirt prints that you can't get elsewhere. It's more a self-service spot so you'd have to seek someone for help, but they are nice and willing to help you find what you're looking for. Expect to see a line at any Uniqlo if you want to try anything on. Still love walking through and seeing all the t-shirt prints! So far everything I have bought (mostly t-shirts and sweatshirts) from here has lasted through many washes coming out looking just like when I bought it. I have found that even though an item is sold out online, you can find it in this store.

I like Uniqlo. They have good quality clothes at decent slightly lower prices than competitors, good styles but damn this place legit smells like sewage. I don't know what is up with it but I honestly get a strong whiff of it when I enter. I mean multiple times. Does the staff just ignore it? Plug in a glade or something. I like Uniqlo but I'll literally run in and out because it smells.

Extremely rude staff and no customer service to speak for. Overpriced jackets that don't keep you warm

Great variety and modestly priced clothes. Quick self check out and staff was helpful in finding sizes not on the floor.

This time I made an appt with the infamous Suzie who was kind enough to meet us on a Sunday morning before the store was even open. Suzie has quite the reputation (a good one!) among the bat mitzvah girls and I can see why. She had an eye for what would look good on my daughter and nailed it within 5 minutes. Done! We then made our way downstairs to do some shopping while we had the store to our own. She found a dress to wear to other mitzvahs that she liked so much we got it in a few colors and did some fall shopping as well (aka sweatpants and cute long sleeve tees). We spent more than I was planning to, but the smile on her face was priceless. My daughter wears a junior size and I do find the dress selection a bit limited for juniors (she had 2 racks to choose from), but they certainly have more than anywhere else I've seen and easier to try on person than ordering a bunch online. I think she's good on dresses for the rest of 2023, but when we are ready for more I"ll definitely be calling Suzie to make sure she'll be there to help!

I got looked up and down by the lady with short white hair working. A woman shopping picked up something from the kid section and she snapped at her that they were kid's jeans. I will never understand treating customers differently on appearance or talking down on you for looking at items in the store, or being unable to wrap their mind around the concept that customers could be shopping for another person. I will spend my money at a less judgmental, ignorant establishment.

Vanessa, the owner, is exceedingly kind and stopping in today and having the chance to meet her feels like fate. When I first stopped in the other employee here greeted me and asked what brought me in and if I needed help finding anything. It's not a large place but there is a LOT to look at. They have clothing, accessories, adult jewelry (possibly kids jewelry too, but I wasn't looking at it much), hair notions, and so on. One thing I really needed is a pacifier clip since my daughter has taken to pulling hers out and it ends up in a place in her carseat that is hard for me to reach! They happened to have these which made it a successful shopping trip right there. But whilst we were wandering, Vanessa complimented my sweetie pie and we got to talking. I was in the store for 35 minutes or so and probably half of that was chatting with her. I got a couple of the pacifier clips, and a freaking ADORABLE winter hat that I'm pretty sure is handmade and will probably fly off the shelf. I also bought a book featuring Chicago landmarks which I learned as I checked out Vanessa actually wrote. She autographed it for my baby which I love! Parking is street only and probably can get tough some days, but it's worth the visit. The store is full of really high quality items. They have quite a few Chicago-themed items as well, such as the aforementioned hat, onesies, t-shirts, and so on. It was so nice to talk with Vanessa and get to know her a bit. This is a small shop with big heart and should be on your list of fave baby shops in Chicago.
