I have never had any issues buying dubias or cricket's here, actually started my own successful dubia colony from their dubias. All of my animals came to me healthy and happy, but i also know we live in AZ and animals can't be in a hot car for hours on end. Another review said they were neglecting their tarantulas, that's absurd. There's not a single pet shop in the valley that has full set ups for over 200 spiders, The moss is part of the hide/water dish. Unless you're buying a full bioactive setup, which they offer, your animal is going home in a deli container. I have never had any issues with staff, they have always been extremely welcoming, helpful and answered any questions i have had. That being said, ask stupid question and you get stupid answers. The reason for my lower rating is solely based on how the axolotls were housed. I'm not an axolotl expert, but I have read that they can temporarily be kept in small containers as long as the water is changed daily. However, how long are they kept in these containers? That said, seeing them in small containers on shelves near insect and lizard food felt sad and uncomfortable. It reminded me of how betta fish are often displayed in big pet chain stores. From what I've learned, axolotls do best in individual aquarium tanks with cycled, filtered water. I understand that retail space and logistics can make that challenging. An employee did mention they move them once their tail reaches the end of the container, but I'm sure that meant they move them to a bigger container. The water did look clean, so I'm hoping they're receiving frequent full water changes. I truly don't mean this as an attack -- it just made me sad. I came here with family while visiting from California, so not sure if selling them this way is common since they're illegal to own in CA. They're such unique and delicate creatures, and I wish their setup reflected that a bit more. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because overall it really is a neat store!

Earlier today, I called to ask if they had male veiled chameleons in stock. The employee put me on hold for a couple of minutes, came back, and confirmed they had "a couple" available. A few hours later, my boyfriend and I drove out to the store specifically for that reason. When we arrived, the same employee was immediately unfriendly and gave us attitude the entire interaction. We asked again about the male veiled chameleons, and she again told us they had them in stock and directed us to the back. My aunt also asked about jumping spiders, and the employee responded with the same rude attitude while showing them to us. After checking the reptiles, we spoke with another employee who was actually very helpful and knowledgeable. He explained that they DID NOT currently have any male veiled chameleons available and wouldn't be getting more until next week. He gave us detailed information and was polite the entire time. The issue wasn't just the misinformation, it was also the employee's behavior throughout the visit. She repeatedly stared at my family in an uncomfortable and rude way while we were speaking with other staff members, and every interaction with her felt dismissive and hostile. What's especially frustrating is that this is the same employee who previously sold me a snake and provided me with incorrect husbandry information at the time of purchase. Before visiting the store, I had already done research on the snake I was getting, and later realized that much of the advice I was given was the opposite of what the snake actually needed. Thankfully the snake itself has done well, but inaccurate care information can seriously affect the health of reptiles if customers don't know any better. I understand everyone has bad days, but this is now my second negative experience with the same employee. It's disappointing because behavior like this reflects poorly on the business and does not create a welcoming or professional environment for customers, especially compared to the much more helpful service provided by the other employees I've interacted with.

I had a large tank was leaking so I had to move 2 large cichlids to a smaller temporary tank. He came to my house and took measurements. He knew the urgency of my request due to my fish being in a temporary holding tank... BUT I NEVER HEAD BACK FROM HIM. I tried to call, text, and email for follow up for 2 weeks on a timeframe... no response. After over 2 weeks of no response, I searched more and finally found a tank builder through Aquarium Arts in Mesa, which took another 3+ weeks to actually get a tank made. Never heard from Jeremy during this entire ~6 week process. The lack of response and delay in getting my fish into a new tank caused my huge Blood Parrot to get sick and eventually die, even after taking him to an aquatic vet twice for treatment. Jeremy was simply unresponsive, unreliable, and unprofessional. He had all of my contact info...phone, email, and address. He was at my house. He has no excuse for his lack of response. He likely didn't see the opportunity for the cleaning service as he seems to focus on salt water tanks, so he likely decided to just move on and leave me hanging... this is not a business that cares about customers, referrals, or being professional.
