We were craving home cooked food without having to cook and Unique Bite Eatery fit the bill. All of their offerings represent most families favorites made from scratch. My husband ordered the pot roast and I ordered the fried chicken with spaghetti. The portions were large and with the exception of the spaghetti, were all delicious. The pasta suffered from being overcooked and had the texture of canned spaghetti - blech! The spaghetti sauce would have also benefited from a little salt. The restaurant is casual as you order at the counter and the menu is on the wall. There was a lot of really yummy looking food being served and it looked like people were enjoying it so I think I ordered the one thing that wasn't so good. read more

On the way in we were stopped by a group saying this place is great you won't be disappointed. I now know why. I can't recommend this business enough. We were in the area and decided to stop in. I'm addicted to their Unique Salad, it's big and the strawberry tahini is my favorite :) All their other dishes are made fresh and are amazing, I'm pescatarian so I haven't tried their meat dishes but everyone else I've talked to loves their food. Stopped in off the road after a 4 hour drive and was really just looking for something to eat other than McDonalds. Turned out to be one of the best burgers and service I've had in a long long time. The side-salad was, for a salad, so good ... fresh complex ingredients and the berry (strawberry?) dressing made it unique. The fries that came with the burger were also fresh and tastey, but not sure how fair it is for me to rate fries since I believe nothing comes close to McDonald's fries. But it doesn't matter really because I did not eat many of them because the rest of the meal was excellent AND filling. But the most notable thing about the whole experience here is that they prepped and made this meal well despite my coming in 5 minutes before closing. I am glad that there are more options of places to eat in Indio. And, this place is decent. I just can't say that the majority of dishes are unique. The one dish that is worth getting is the Creamy chicken; it is a bit different...buttery goodness. Also, I do think their prices are a bit high for what you get.
