I opted to go to this salon recently when having a hard time finding anywhere in Solvang that was open after 5pm. It was easy to get a reservation for a Thursday at 6pm. They were super timely with my appointment time and worked quick. I didn't feel like I was spending hours at the salon, which was nice. They have several chairs for both manicures and pedicures, plus a super extensive selection of nail polish colors to choose from. My gel manicure is going on day 4 right now and looks great. I'm super satisfied. The manicurist even sampled all the different colors I was struggling to choose between on her own nails, so that I could see what they looked like once painted on. $40 for a gel manicure was not bad. They also have parking in a lot nearby next door, which is great because they're on the main street of Mission Drive in Solvang. read more

I can't imagine anyone local returning to this salon after an initial try .Shop is cluttered , not especially friendly , considering most walk-ins will be visitors of Solvang and the polish selection is old and scant . Within a month , 2 separate people told me they got a fungal infection following their pedIcure . Well , that's entirely believable because when I visited , I noticed the instruments were taken from a desk drawer -- clearly not autoclaved ! Wow!!! 60'yrs old and have had 100s of pedicures. This was by far the worse ever!! I went a month without one and watched as hardly any cuticle was removed. Had the callus removal and she didn't let it set in, just rubbed with a pumice stone which resulted in no visible callus removal. After the lack of cuticle and callus removal I felt the urge to time my massage, it was 2 minutes 40 seconds total! My manicure which left lots of cuticle lifting skin took a whole 10 minutes. My total was $65! I didn't get polish but a clear coat of OPI nail strengthener, I ask about the second coat and they said "no just one coat" wth? Not to mention, no gloves and her nails were dirty underneath and the instruments were not taken out of an autoclave (sp?) pouch. Health department here I come!!!! Probably tourist driven and they don't care...the place was not clean either!!! read more

The salon seems to be run by a family - an older gentleman, and older woman, and a younger woman. They were all nice and accommodating to a walk-in. However, the state of the desks and products on counters and surfaces were dirty. I assume the actual tools were clean and sanitary but I wasn't paying attention. The gentleman gave a good spa pedicure. However, the older woman was in a hurry. My daughter's nails were not fully painted and had paint on her skin beside her nails. At first I thought maybe she couldn't see well, but then as the same woman did my gel manicure, realized she's just in a hurry and sloppy. She handed me the acetone soaked cotton ball to remove my own nail polish for her (I was surprised as I've never been put to work before when I'm paying for them to do it, but rolled with it and removed my polish). She then cut my skin with the cuticle clippers, as she rushed through the pushback process. I watched her only cover part of my nails with the top coat and then she flung the nail file around not really getting the edge of my nails. Then at the end she said I was done (no typical massage, lotion finish). I asked, "can I get some lotion for the dry skin after the chemicals?" And she complied but hastily rubbing it on. My daughter was also really disappointed as she wanted to have a manicure/pedicure experience with mom (like she has in the past at other salons), and she didn't get the pampering and experience she was hoping for. My daughter's nails look messy and I promised her I'd do the manicure and pedicure for her at home with the full experience when we change her polish. My nails look nice, but my finger is sore where she nipped me (causing me to decide to write this review as I notice my finger hurting the day after),, and I would not go back again. I'd rather make the long drive to Goleta to visit another salon or do them myself at home. read more

The worst service ever!!! Do not waste your time. This is a horrible, horrible place to go!!! Took my 96 year old mom there for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure took 10 minutes (no massage, no lotion, just clipped and filed her nails). Then the lady had my mom sit in a different chair where she waited for 20 minutes for an old lady to file and paint her finger nails. The old lady spent about 15 minutes with my mom. The quality of my pedicure is fine. That said, I called in the morning for an appt and they gave me Noon. When I arrived, the lead manicurist treated me as if I was in imposition, not an appointment. I waited 30 minutes before being taken to a chair. The pedicure chairs are close together and the entire space is crowded. It was the fastest pedicure I've ever had...30 minutes flat. $35.
