This place has already lots of great reviews but I just can't not to review it! I needed to make 4 poster for my presentation today and I went to FedEx nearby as I usually do. After mentioning to them I need to make posters on regular paper as the cheapest option, they told me that thick paper would be the cheapest and one poster would cost me about $25(so x4 =$100). I then asked workers if i can print each of posters on two separate regular A4 sheets and then tape them and they became completely ignorant. So I tried to adjust size of my posters on their self-service station and left place disappointed as apparently I couldn't adjust the size using their computer. I then found Unique Copy on the map and headed there and I'm sooo happy I did! Workers at this place gave me zero attitude regarding me asking cheapest paper/option, then one of guys just asked me to email him my pictures that would go on posters and adjusted them all by himself and in 5 min I was out with 4 large beautiful posters on some laminated paper(thin, but great to hang on the wall) for under $13 all together. I worked with Paul at Unique on a very tricky job: paper puzzles that consisted of double-sided strips divided into triangles, with perfect registration front and back. Paul was patient and took a real interest in the project, painstakingly perfecting the registration as much as possible with the machinery and files at hand, and explaining why there might be slight variations with the machine cutting. I was very impressed with how well the triangles on side 1 matched up with the triangles on side 2, Paul's willingness to redo work when files were modified, and his patience with the confusing sounding files. Paid 70 cents a page to wait around while they figured out how to work their own PC. They don't have much self-service, so they tell you to go to a PC station to print a document -- at which point they charge you not just for the printing but for "use of the PC" by the minute. Before coming, I had called to find out pricing for my printing needs and upon going to the establishment, such prices were in agreement with the cost given to me over the phone. However on my third visit, I was told about different servicing fees and cost me 3x as much as my prior projects. The ladies at the counter seemed irritated to even service any of my needs. The three employees I saw this morning were much more interested in sitting and talking about their weekend activities and personal relationships than helping me make my copies and leave on time. First one desktop didn't work, the second did but the employees forgot to tell me that the color printer is the default printer, then the b&w printer didn't work. I like Unique Copy Center. I've used them several times to fax things. They take care of everything for you so you don't even need to figure out how to work a machine, just hand your documents over. Though the service isn't exactly friendly, the prices seem fair, especially in comparison to Kinkos. It takes a village to complete a very last minute, high-quality, and large printing job. And thank god I found the wonderful people at Unique Copy Center to achieve this impossible task, specifically Adam, Adriana, and Ivan, who went above and beyond to help me out! I had searched and communicate with multiple print shops in New York City before I found Unique Copy Center, and while most shops turned me away because the project was too rushed or I asked too many questions, Adam took the time to work with me over the phone to trouble shoot errors with my file, print samples, and decide on the optimal size for my printing needs. Moreover, the quote he gave me was by far the most reasonable, almost 50% less than one of the other shops that declined my order. Later on that night when there was a critical error in the process where my large file would not send properly to the printer, Adam called and reached out to me right away and I went into the shop to work with Adriana and Ivan to fix this issue. Other shops would have turned me away or not tried to fix this issue with me, but that was not an option for me. Thankfully, it was not an option for Adriana and Ivan either: not only did they both stay past their hours (nearly 40 minutes after the store closed) to try different processes to make the printer take my file, they also made me feel completely confident and reassured that I was in good hands. I honestly could not have been more thrilled or thankful for all of their dedication and hard work. Most importantly, the print job came out wonderfully, and just in time for me to bring into the office the next morning!
