While the flight attendants were wonderful and kind (especially from Omaha to Chicago), the gate agent was horrible. So rude and extremely unhelpful. First didn't acknowledge us and then She took every single genuine question we had as a personal attack and literally had the nastiest attitude. For NO reason. For example, we were concerned about missing our connection and worried about the standby plane they booked us on potentially being full. We asked if there was any other option for us to get home and she replied by saying "I'll just cancel the whole thing", which would've made us lose our standby plane when that isn't what we were even asking. When that's not even what we were asking. Passengers beware, because she does not seem professional or competent enough to do this job. Didn't catch her name, but she is the bigger woman with a metal front tooth. Awful. The crew on the plane made everything so much better and even helped us make our connection, and we are so grateful. But to the obnoxious gate agent, hope you have the life you deserve. I don't really ever have a problem with United when I depart from Omaha. I'm reviewing the United counter at Omaha, not the company as a whole, because that would probably be a different story. I do all of my stuff online ahead of time but for the rare times that I've had to speak to someone at the United counter, (they needed to check my passport when I recently flew internationally), the employee was nice and quick at what she had to do for me. not exaggerating when I say this was the worse customer service I have ever experienced at an airport. we arrived 50 minutes before our flight took off and the manager and another lady wouldn't allow us to check our bags because we weren't there 45 minutes before even though we clearly were. the manager immediately came off with a rude attitude towards when we had done Nothing wrong, just confused with the rule that shouldn't have even been applied to us. normally in customer service the customer is always supposed to be in the right but not with thr manger and her coworker they thought because they were behind the desk they had more authority over us which gave them the right to treat us how ever they wanted. This has got to be the most unreasonable group of people I have ever seen with ridiculous heartless lies. If I could give 0 stars I would. The overhead bins are empty... I have $10,000 worth of camera equipment headed to a destination wedding and they REFUSED to let me pay to put it in the overhead bin- but charged me $65 to put it in the belly of the plane thrown around by the ground crew. I had a woman "promise" it would arrive ok. I ask her what would I be able to do if it didn't... she said, "nothing". Well- thanks for the empty promise. I had her write her name on the ticket- til I realized it meant NOTHING! I would have paid for a whole ticket... they plane wasn't even close to full- they said it was too late. I did call their help line days before to get this rectified- the mean person on the phone was unable to even understand what I was asking for and said to wait til I got to the gate. WOW! WOW! WOW! Well, United is yet another airline that flies into Omaha Eppley Airfield. If I could, I would give 3.5 stars. I will be generous and round up to 4 stars. Yes, there's been delays. Yes, it's annoying and irritating. At times, it can be down right frustrating. But you know what? The delays are not because they have a vendetta against their customers. More often than not, these delays are due to a safety issue. It may be the weather or maintenance related. As travelers, we need to keep that in mind. When dealing with the customer service center, they really do try to accommodate you as much as possible. Sometimes they will book you on a later flight or look at other airline options to get you where you want to go. The flight staff is always friendly and I love heating up my Stroopwaffle cookie over a hot cup of coffee. read more

United is fast becoming one of my least favorite airlines. Recent changes have them not allowing two small carryons, which seems like another way to nickel-and-dime customers. They also goofed by forgetting to add TSA Pre-check to my recent flight. That was nice and awkward when I got to the front of the security line. I wish I could rate United lower. They cancelled my flight a half hour before departure, refused to put me on standby at the next flight, instead forcing me to spend the night in the airport, as they refused to provide a hotel or meal vouchers. After spending the night in the airport, I got notified that my rescheduled flight was delayed an additional 13 hours. I tried to get them to change my flight, as this would put me at a 28 hour delay, but they refused, saying that there were no flights. They again refused to give me any form of compensation or meals for my over a day wait in the airport. Finally, as I was leaving customer service, I found that two of my fellow passengers, one four spots in line behind me, both got flights to my destination four to twelve hours before me. As an Asian-American, and given United's reputation of being less than kind to Asian travelers, I have to wonder if they're purposing to give me bad service and refuse to offer compensation. read more

United Airlines gets a bad rep and as you can imagine there is a reason for it. My LAST flight with them was delayed by three hours making me miss my connecting flight. They offered me no compensation but did give out hotel vouchers for others - this screwed me over as well because the hotel was apparently prioritizing vouchers over reservations and the airline handed out too many. It took me another three hours to finally get a room. I then tried to reach out for compensation from the airline but to no avail. I hope they go bankrupt. read more

I recently flew on United, the friendly skies airline, from Eppley Airfield in Omaha, NE. There was a line of travelers waiting to check in and get boarding passes. I got out of line to use the self check in kiosk, in attempt to take the burden off of the ladies behind the counter. First of all the scale was not working and secondly the kiosk computer was not working, as it was not reading credit cards. I attempted to ask a woman behind the desk for assistance her rude response was to tell me to get back in line and wait, because she was trying to get off of work. How RUDE!!! I had received my seat assignment and only needed to pay for my checked bag. I asked another woman next to her for assistance and she made eye contact with me and walked off with the other female. The first person again told me quite rudely and abrasively, "I already told you, she tryin' to get off too, I done told you the only way you goin' to get help is to go back in line...." How absolutely UNACCEPTABLY RUDE!!! There was a third worker who came over and told me she would be happy to assist me. she checked me and my bag in within a matter of seconds literally. By the way the other two were still there, what happened to "we tryin' to get off work..." I will try to never fly United again!!! read more

OK, so I had a flight on united that went, not right, then down hill from there. It should have been a nice easy flight. Direct from Omaha to Newark. We ran into weather and had to land in Baltimore to refuel. Not a big deal, but they unloaded us while they refueled and waited for weather to clear. The loaded us back onto the plane, took us out on the tarmak and we had to sit for another half hour. Again, not a big deal, then the pilot announces that he has run out of flight time for the day. So, back to the Baltimore terminal where they had us get off the plane and told us to go down to baggage claim because everything upstairs was closed. We were told that they were getting us a bus to take us from Baltimore to Newark, but guess what, no bus driver. They couldn't get one. On top of that, no hotel rooms in the area. So, guess what, we, the entire set of passengers, were left in the Baltimore airport overnight. No food, no water, no blankets, nothing, just a you can go back upstairs when the TSA comes in in the morning. I get it, sometimes things go wrong with air travel. Sometimes there are delays. But, as a passenger, being abandoned by the carrier at the airport baggage claim? This was supposed to be a quick 4 day trip to the city. But, no, the flight went wrong, hotel night missed, car rental canceled, entire day wasted becaue of this. But wait, it gets better from there. I tried reaching out to united customer service about doing something to "make it right". Guess what, they decided that for having done that to me, having destroyed multiple other arrangements that I had in place, for tripling the cost of my car rental, and abandoning me in an unscheduled city, they were going to offer me all of a $75 flight travel voucher so they could do it to me again. Let me be clear about this, this is not just my being grumpy about some bad weather here, they did this to the entire passenger list of people on that flight. And to be blunt, a $75 travel voucher just doesn't cut it. read more

My wife and I took two trips with United Airlines this year, they lost our luggage three times! the first time was last september we went to Heathrow and the sent our luggage to Houston. this August we went to Amsterdam and it took them 2 days to get our luggage to us gone ten days and when we go home to Omaha NO luggage. 1 Star is too many.... I forgot why I stopped flying United until I was forced to book with them this past weekend. My trip was supposed to be 2 nights in Charlotte, NC ended up being stranded in Chicago foe 2 nights and only 1 night in Charlotte. On the way to Charlotte, my flight was delayed due to high winds. I get that it was weather related and my hotel was not covered, I guess I could have stayed in the airport 12 hours until my connection. On my trip home, my flight was delayed 7 hrs due to mechanical issues. Missed my connection and I was stuck in Chicago at 1 am. My new connection flight was not for another 12 hours. I was told they would reimburse me for a hotel since it was not weather related. Guess what???? They are telling nope they will not reimburse for the hotel. For all of my inconvenience they are offering me $100 in flight vouchers!!!!! Really??? They think I'm gonna fly United again? No way...If a Southwest flight is delayed so many hours they will automatically offer vouchers valued over $100 and Yes I will fly Southwest again and again. NEVER FLY UNITED!!!!
