I will admit it's difficult to experience this club after visiting the newly renovated one in Denver. The vibe here is similar to the others (not r remodeled), which is fine. The disappointment comes from things that could easily be fixed. Like no tea, except for chamomile, which is not even a tea (they are waiting for a shipment). Then, you may want to get a soda instead, only available at the bar, how inconvenient is that! Food offerings are standard, it would be nice if they could stay on top of refills though. Always some decent options. The free alcohol options are decent. The "food" options vary from time to time and based on meal time. But the snacks I think are great. Can be chips, cookies, brownies, pretzels ect. I've never been when it's super busy, most times it's pretty calm and quiet in there. I think the club innterminal e is the best looking one at IAH. The Polaris Lounge is currently closed due to the pandemic. So, go to the United Club next door, and they will give you a card for the bar. Ride the escalators upstairs, use the well maintained toilets then plonk yourself in one of numerous semi private seating areas overlooking the aircraft parked outside the floor to ceiling windows. Then present that card to the peppy barkeep, who was Dina at the time. She offered some amazing topshelf drinks for the card. I went with a splash of Glenlivet 12. A smooth, aromatic prelude to my longhaul flight later. Packaged snacks during the pandemic--the most substantial being cup noodles. The good news about ALL of the United Clubs is that they have a service desk that can take care of flight related issues so you don't have to contact their Customer Service in a third world country. I wasn't able to book seats at home without paying for them because I purchased my tickets in a package deal from a resort and flights were included. No problem, the United Club Rep booked my other flight seats at no charge. Each Club has clean restroom facilities and food. Mind you, the food at the low budget hotels will be better than the United Club locations. The bread and pastries are always cold and bland. For example, the croissants should be the butter type, here they taste like hard stale bread. It's not worth purchasing a day pass, but to visit complimentary due to the United Mileage Card is fine. The positive from every United Club are the friendly bar tenders and free drinks! read more

So if you fly first on other member airlines - like Air Canada - you can access this lounge. Just show your boarding pass on entering. Compared to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge at Pearson, it's super small. For the same reason it is pretty busy. But you can always find a seat. There's a bar where you can order a drink or ask for a juice, a machine where you can make a coffee located at the bar, and an area where snacks are laid out, typically consisting of cookies and brownies though I will take a closer look next time and update this review if there's more. Because there's no sneeze guard, or any items like yogurt that are completely sealed, I typically steer clear of the latter. Interestingly there are no bathrooms! You're forced to use the ones by the gates, which by midday are busy, cramped, and rather filthy. All in all it's a fine place to wait for your flight away from the hustle at the gate, and staff at the front and serving at the bar are pleasant. read more

Worst United Club experience EVER!!! How do you give United a ZERO on Yelp? First, got barked at as we arrived with my 93-year old mother like we didn't know the process (Near C-1 gate). After that, my daughter experienced the onset of a migraine and curled up in her chair to fend off light. At that point one of the front desk people came over and told her to take her feet out of the chair, which she did. I went to get my daughter a water, placed it beside her and then approached the desk. When I got to the desk, I said "excuse me, what's your name?" and was flippantly told "Turner, T Turner" as she fumbled to make her name tag visable. From there, she asked "why do you want to know my name, because I told her to get her feet out of the chair?" My response was, "because I asked" Because her attitude up to that point wasn't bad enough, she then LOUDLY told her co-worker that I had asked her name because she "told her to get her feet out of the chair". She stated it TWICE, loud enough that I could hear her even though I am seated at the window....BY the window. She does a verbal exchange with someone and then LOUDLY proclaims "I'm not going anywhere!" One week ago, we were in this same lounge and got the same rudeness from the same person. It was a FULL lounge so my daughter sat on the floor by our party - NOT in a walking space. She had been down there about 5-minutes when (Guess who!) T. Turner comes and TOLD her to get off of the floor and walks off. During this visit alone, I've seen children on the floor and kids with their feet in the seat - with ZERO rebuke from T Turner or anyone else. When it comes to service, T Turner misses the boat entirely. We pay a premium to be here, don't bother anyone, and DON'T expect to be harassed by United employees who are selective in who they approach. What happened today was rude, dismissive, and embarrassing for us - your paying guests. As I am typing this someone named Deloris comes over with the rules to show them to us. This, itself, is a one-sided approach that DISMISSES CUSTOMER SERVICE and the ENTIRE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Not ONCE did she ask us what happened, she showed us the rules and told us that "she was not lying" when no one ever said she was. Simple suggestions: Train United Lounge employees on what customer service MEANS. Teach employees that customers' experiences should NOT include feeling like they are "less than". Consider getting employees who don't act like they have something to prove. (If she was SO right, why did she feel it necessary to get a supervisor when all I did was come sit down and pull out my laptop?) read more

A nice space to break away from the busy hustle of the terminal. The veggies were fresh and the ladies were on top of keeping things replenished. While it seemed very busy, there were still places to sit with available power outlets. The bar staff were awesome. Very friendly. read more

We had a short layover from Houston to London so we stopped by the lounge for an hour. The ladies (greeters) in the front were sweethearts and made the check-in process smooth and easy. For some reason, it was really busy that day we were there. However, we still got 2 alcoholic beverages, found 2 seats and relaxed. The WiFi wasn't really working for me, which was fine because we met another fellow traveler and we chit-chatted the entire stay. Time flew by! I am my mother's daughter. She does this thing called "club hopping" when she has long layovers. She likes checking out all the clubs to see which one she likes best. She has a lifetime membership to the "Red Carpet club" aka the United club, so she has this luxury of being able to lounge hop. So I had an 8 hour layover in IAH. Well obviously chick fil a was on my list of things to do, so I went over to terminal b to get chick fil a and check out the terminal b lounge. It's a lot more quiet than the terminal e one. I guess there are more united gates in terminal e or maybe just more people. The workers have to work hard at refilling snacks and cleaning off tables here. They do a good job though. I even saw a worker taking a picture of a couple with their food and drinks spread out over one of those side tables. Cute. There was a line to get in. They had cut up fruit, oatmeal, granola and pasties for breakfast. It's ehh. read more

It's big, clean and bright and a nice place to relax if you have access, but I'd never pay for access if I didn't have a free pass. While airport restaurants and other airline clubs have gone more towards where they were pre Covid, United has seemed to capitalize on "precautions" and offer pretty sad options for snacks. They have stacks of instant ramen noodles, cheese sticks, slim Jims, and really gross tepid packaged burritos. If you're lucky, you can grab a sandwich or salad floating in some melted ice water. This was actually better than my United Club experience with the last layover. They have a big sign saying don't take more than you can eat on the club, which made me laugh because everyone grabs extra cookies. I didn't have a chance to grab a free wine because I didn't have time, but the bar was full with people sitting so it was nice to see that going back to normal (another reason I think the pre packaged food is not covid related). read more

I'll admit it now. I'm a tiiiiny bit spoiled. The average person may not be so critical but having been to many better lounges I can't help but compare. I felt this was maybe slightly above average FOR UNITED but overall a pretty mediocre and disappointing lounge. Here are the highlights: Shower with philosophy products and complimentary clothing press, tea/free house wine and some beer, and spaciousness. The low lights: everything else. * HOURS - 3 STARS: Standard hours. Those listed on yelp are incorrect, they are open Mon-Sun 5am-11:30pm. There are no other lounges open earlier than 5, but if I arrived later based on reviews the KLM lounge (opens 7am) looks far superior. * FOOD - 1.5 STARS: Breakfast is continental. Probably one of the saddest attempts with fruit (red/green apples and bananas), grocery store pre-packaged bagels (cinnamon raisin, plain), donut holes (powdered sugar and chocolate), low quality non-fat strawberry and raspberry yogurt, cereal (plain off brand Cheerios or granola). Little things could have easily elevated the food without much added cost - Greek yogurt, honey, anything warm, sliced veggies/carrots and dip, miso soup, another cereal, bars, cookies, salami... * DRANKS - 3.5 STARS: Their non alcoholic beverage selection is standard but has highlights like ghiradelli hot chocolate mix, multiple types of tea (Numi organic, Ceylon), 1 house complimentary red and white wine. Premium liquor costs extra. Alcohol served after 7am Mon-Sat and after noon on Sunday. My rating is somewhat on the liberal side given numerous other lounges have beer on tap, a full hard liquor spread self-serve. * FACILITIES - 4 STARS: Spacious. Conference rooms. Showers. With Philosophy shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Complimentary clothing press until 9:30pm. It's comfortable but a bit dated, however served the basic wifi and outlet needs. It was very crowded on Thursday afternoon, and my colleague and I finally found seats to sit down after walking around for a while. Located in Terminal E this is a very nice United Club lots of room, great staff lots of perks that makes traveling a little less painful. I'm in and out of a lot of airports throughout the year and this one ranks high as United Clubs go. As with all airlines United is capitalizing on every opportunity to increase their revenue, saying that and being a club member that renews my club membership yearly I see these club getting more and more crowded with the introduction of the $50 day pass which is a real bargain if you look at the cost to snack and drink in the terminals, a few cocktails outside the club more than covers the cost of a day pass so I would buy the day pass too as more and more infrequent travelers now do ( the secret to travel is out lol ). As the popularity grows the original intention of these clubs are getting diluted for the business traveler example lots of kids running around, much noisier atmosphere, less space to relax or work. Being it's a popular choice I suggest they double the cost of the day pass to $100. This could decreased the amount of infrequent traveler by as much as 50% the income from the days passes would stay the same but their expenses would greatly decrease less staffing required, less cleaning, less food and drink cost, etc. So enjoy this perk at the discount rate while it last you know some accountant in a small office somewhere in the United system will propose this to his boss who will be made a VP for taking credit for this idea. :-) read more

This used to be the real centerpiece of the Continental Presidents Club. United brand and corporate culture have ruined the service in this club like everything else with this airline. Their food options are stale and pathetic. Their bar service is like a bad Holiday Inn. They're so cheap they've cut newspapers down to bare minimum. The United Club struggles to keep their restrooms clean and many times you're better off just going out in the terminal. It's so sad to see how the mighty have fallen. read more

I think I've been to all the IAH United Clubs, and this one in Terminal E is probably the best of the lot. It's huge and not overcrowded compared to other United Clubs. The hard and soft goods furnishings still look new and every power outlet I've used here works so far. I thought United Club announced that there will be foods offered specifically to the city each club is located? I haven't noticed any specialty for Houston...same carrot & celery sticks, kale salad, 3-cheeses cubes, Italian Wedding Soup, cookies, etc. Maybe Houston just doesn't have any specialty cuisine? The club is clean, and the staff really come by often to pick up used dishes and trash. The free showers apparently are gone, probably being transferred to the new Polaris Lounge. At least the complimentary drinks are still available. I have to make up my Mileage Plus Club Card Visa cost somehow! Tip: Houston wants you at church instead of drinking before noon on Sunday, so it's a dry club. read more

I get free passes annually for having the MileagePlus credit card. I've had it for about two years now and I've never used the passes given to me. I don't know why I hadn't sooner! Today is my first time going into a United Club since I have a 3-hour layover until my next flight. Free wi-fi, free snacks, cheap beer. Seating is much more comfortable and there's plenty of outlets for charging. Don't know why I didn't think to use these passes before. It's a 50 dollar charge for a one day pass, but I think it's worth it if you have a long layover or delayed flight. Definitely will get your money's worth. read more

They're kinda like the airports they serve - if you had a minor stroke and forgot which one you were in, you'd still be able to get around fine. Had a first class flight from Belize back to ANC and decided to check this place out on my layover. Apparently it's that particular combo only that got me in (international + first class seat) cuz I'm not a member. In any case, this place was swanky w plus seats but also pretty packed. The salad bar was good - with selections of salami and cheese as well as salad. I did expect more than one kind of soup though -- as even the small airport Alaskan Lounge in Anchorage manages that. The United Club at Terminal E IAH is one of the better United Clubs. Why? Well for one it has shower facilities. Second, it is huge and spacious. Next it is multi-level so people seem to sprawl out and don't look to be close to one another. As far as food and drinks, the offerings are basic but enough. The staff here is good at picking finished plates and cups. Plus I love the third floor where I can always count for peace and quiet. Does this place deserve a 4-Star ? Well if you compare this lounge with other domestic airlines lounges of the big three then the answer is yes. You get free internet, free drinks and snacks, electrical outlet, and even a shower, that is enough for me. read more

I had a 5 hour layover during a red eye journey to Belize and I could get in with my Mileage Plus club pass. Lots of seats with power points. Food choices are pretty basic but adequate. I've been to better lounges. Food is spread across the second floor with whole fruit, water and snacks as you enter. If you walk down inside, you will find oatmeal, pastries and more fruit. Best is their Caffein bar with all things Illy (my favorite coffee on the entire planet) just around the corner from there. PS: There is no shower right now, until the construction is completed on 3rd floor, bummer. read more

This United Club is a clone of all the rest: generally nice, usually overcrowded, same food and drink, bar --- all highly formulaic. But I suppose it needs to be. Sometimes there are very slight regional differences in the food, but barely. United has found a formula that works for the masses. Some complain, but at the end of the day, I'd way rather sit here with free soup, wine and a Wall Street journal, than deal with waiting at the gate. read more
